• Export podcasts from iTunes as OPML, or some other way?

  I recently bought a new computer, and installed iTunes 9 on it, mainly to subscribe to podcasts. All my regular podcasts are saved as subscriptions in iTunes om my old computer. Is there any way to save myself entering in all the subscriptions individually on my new computer, by maybe exporting the podcast list as an OPML file, or otherwise saving that list out of iTunes?

• why is usb disk corrupted by Vista restore

  I have a laptop with Vista Business on an 80GB disk. I have created a full backup and stored that on the original 80GB drive. On my new 320GB disk, I have created a partition with exactly the same number of bytes as the original 80GB disk. I swap the disks so that the 320GB is internal, and the 80GB is in a USB caddy. I boot from the NEO restore CD and everything looks fine: I select the dump on the USB drive, target is drive C:, start the restore. After a few seconds, the restore fails with "not enough disks in machine or disk not large enough" error (I did note the exact phrase). I then swap the 80GB disk back to the internal drive, but the thing is unbootable. Why has the restore process scrubbed the boot status of the USB drive ?

• nVidia driver is not installed for x64 Windows 7 (Vaio VGN-SZ460N)

  I just upgraded memory to 4GB for Sony Vaio VGN-SZ460N laptop and trying to install Windows 7 x64. All works fine with default drivers, except video - I am not able to set resolution more than 1024x768. Technical specification says that this model is using: Chipset : Intel® 945GM Processor : NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7400 notebook graphics processing unit (GPU) and Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 I was trying to use Intel 945GM driver, for Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and get error: This computer does not meet the mininum requirements for installing the software Also, I was trying to download nVidia GeForce Go 7400 x64 but it says that there is no compatible hardware. Actually, it has disclaimer that those drivers doesn't work for Sony vaio and recomendation to use OEM website. Sony website has only 32-bit version of driver which says that it cannot be installed and x64 should be used... Any ideas?

• Tie stock quote value to cell in Excel 2011 Mac

  I've been working on a mock stock portfolio in Excel, and I've been looking for ways to automatically update the data, eg. stock price and P/E ratio. I have tried using a web query to MSN Money, but that just brings up the whole stock quote across multiple cells, I want data to be updated in individual cells only. The only web query solution I can think of is if someone hosted a website where each value in the stock quote was saved on a different HTML file. I could then WebQuery to that file for each cell requiring that value. However, no website offers this. So in essence, is there any tool on Excel 2011 Mac that will let me pull individual values from a stock quote and assign them to a single cell?

  Is it possible to install Photomatrix under wine? I'm running Ubuntu 9.04, and I've tried both the default download and the embedded .net version. The first attempts to install the .net framework 1.1, and fails, while the 2nd appears to install but won't run. After a bit of googling, er, binging, I tried adding the .net 2.0 runtime via winetricks, and now it appears to install OK, but still won't run - either from the wine menu, or from the command line. Is it possible? What do I need to do?

• Using Superuser paths for specific topics

  I have a very specific question, which I have not been able to find the solution I want to search Superuser and other websites using Google, but I want to limit it to a specific subject (e.g. the R programming language). Using Superuser paths for specific topics like "site:http://superuser.com/questions/tagged/r" Does not work, as can be seen when comparing searching using full path compared to searching entire website with more specific question. Also note the first hit being one step in the direction i want, but since this path itself does not hold the questions in its path it does not solve my issue. There should however be a better way to do this, e.g. by having a very specific Google search tag for the R programming language, which would have to be either in the path, on the webpage, or tagged differently. Seeing as Superuser has a good tag system I am optimistic that this can be used to solve my question. Is there a solution to this that always works on Superuser and similar sites?

  My front side bus (FSB) is rated for a maximum of 400mhz (Rated FSB 1600MHz). In fact, it used to run at 400mhz until recently. I'm trying to overclock my E8400 to 3.6GHz. I have done that in the past by having the FSB at 400 with a multiplier of 9. Now, when I set the FSB to 400, the system boots as normal, but the FSB stubbornly is stuck at 333 (Rated FSB 1333). The CMOS is set to 400, I've triple-checked it. It's just the FSB isn't listening. Is my FSB damaged? Gigabyte mobo

• Computer Randomly Restarts (no crash dump)

  Hey everyone this is my first time here, so, my computer got pulled out of his place the other day by accident and it never got back to working decently ever again. I just stopped using it because everytime i power it on, it restarts. Some times it doesn't even reach the desktop, others it even allows me to run a game or something. It gets really random. Today i was trying my last attempt before sending it to fix and it ran fine for 40 minutes but as i tried to run a game the screen got really messeud up full of colorful lines and stuff and i'm assuming it had to do with the graphics card. Altho, my question is, what can be causing all this restart thingie? Can it be just the Power Supply failing me and hence, not giving enough power to make the graphic card go for instance? • Apple Quicktime skips during video playback

  Hi, I'm on Windows XP SP3, and I'm running Apple Quicktime v7.6.5. When viewing MPEG-4 videos, every 30 seconds or so, the playback will halt for 5 seconds, and then resume at a point 10 seconds or so into the future. In essence, it is freezing and skipping. Any ideas how to combat this? My laptop is an NEC Versa, with graphics supplied by a mobile Intel 915gm/gms,910gml express chipset family. Cheers.

• What is causing my newly built PC to BSOD?

  I recently built my own PC from parts and installed Windows 7 and I have been getting BSODs with various different stop codes. The latest was 0x24, but I've also had 0xd1 and 0x1e. However, Windows does not let me know where the fault occurred, so I have no idea how to go about resolving this. So I have a VLM configuration file that should stream audio from mic to localhost so no VLC user interface is needed. If I say to Windows "play VLM file with VLC" it plays correctly, starts the server where I need and streams data. But how to do such a thing manually from the command line (so we suppose we can call vlc.exe by VLC and we are now in folder with the vlc.exe and vlcConfig.vlm files)?

  Is there equivalent Excel Val2() function in Numbers? I want to get value of a cell, which contains formula. What I need to get the result text from the cell. The following is example data: A B C ? 0 what? For example, in cell A1 I have a function like: =Right(C1) which is the end character of string in C1. Then I need to use the result of A1 in B1 =Count(C$1:C1, A1 = "?") As you can see, the result is 0. I think that A1 in above expression is referring to the formula of A1, instead of its result. • Did Acronis True Image Home 2012 clone operation "lock" my BitLocker disk?

  After trying to clone my primary drive, which requires a reboot to proceed, BitLocker detected that the boot sector had changed and required the recovery keys. Not a good situation to be in on Sunday evening when it is your IT-department who hold the keys. After talking with the guys at IT, I have tree suspects on why BitLocker locked me out: The newly added, second hard drive in my machine. The changed boot-order in BIOS. The changes True Image did in order to do its things on boot. As an end-user, I should never have to end up in situations like these without any warning. I would like to know what really happened, so I can inform Acronis on how they can improve their product to avoid this situation in the future.

  I have a Lenovo X200 laptop on which I am running Ubuntu 9.10. Recently, (I assume after some updating, but I really don't know) my ethernet port stopped working under Linux. A more tech/linux-savvy friend of mine was able to temporarily fix the problem by manually editing the resolv.conf file with the DNS servers he found through his connection. However, after rebooting, the problem came back and now I am looking for a more permanent solution.

• Forgot to unmount/eject external hard drive, lost moved files. Mac OS X

  So I was using my Mac with my external hard drive connected via USB. I moved about 10 GB of data to it (via drag and drop while holding down the Command key to move the files rather than to copy them). They moved to the drive all right, but as I was having some issues and the Finder crashed after the transfer, I was unable to eject the volume and later everything froze so I had to do a hard restart (hold the power button). When I remounted the volume (plugged the external hard drive back in) it no longer had any of the files which I moved onto it. As it was a lot of data, how can I recover these files?
