    I am trying to get the number of delete statements issued during the session, so I enabled statistics generation and I got a reference to it through SessionFactory.Statistics. But I don't see a way to get the global number of deletes. I can get the statistics for the entity, but I have one many-to-many mapped relationship that does not materialize in an entity, everything is done through a table that is not mapped to an entity. Is there a way to get this number?

  • Java: Making concurrent MySQL queries from multiple clients synchronised

    I work at a gaming cybercafe, and we've got a system here (smartlaunch) which keeps track of game licenses. I've written a program which interfaces with this system (actually, with it's backend MySQL database). The program is meant to be run on a client PC and (1) query the database to select an unused license from the pool available, then (2) mark this license as in use by the client PC. The problem is, I've got a concurrency bug. The program is meant to be launched simultaneously on multiple machines, and when this happens, some machines often try and acquire the same license. I think that this is because steps (1) and (2) are not synchronised, i.e. one program determines that license #5 is available and selects it, but before it can mark #5 as in use another copy of the program on another PC tries to grab that same license. I've tried to solve this problem by using transactions and table locking, but it doesn't seem to make any difference - Am I doing this right?     Suppose, I want to record say poll choices by users everyday. In this case, i have a table named vote which has columns poll , choice and user-id . So how can i out the constraint (maybe in the django models or wherever possible) that poll and user-id both should not be the same for any entry but like the same user can vote for various different polls once and obviously various users can vote for the same poll.     I'm new to SSRS. We'll have two slightly different chunks of XML in a single row of an SQL Server database table. In an SSRS report we'll want to show only the differences between the XML chunks. I don't know how to do this, but I suspect the XML Type in SQLServer 2005 might be useful, or XSLT transformations in SSRS. Could anyone point me in the right direction?
