  • Some problem about Compiz and GTK on Ubuntu 14.04

    I installed Ubuntu 14.04 on my computer : i3/4G/750G/VGA Intel HD3000 & 1GB NVidia with CUDA GT540M. I've some problems with Ubuntu 14.04 : Does Ubuntu 14.04 support Emerald Theme Manager? Emerald Theme Manager is not available in Ubuntu Software Center? I installed Compiz and Compiz Setting Manager, it works ok, but the Windows 3D plugin is not work? The Shutdown/Restart function on Right-Top Panel is not work, is there any solution for this problem? The mouse theme I installed only work in current session, next time i restart computer it change back to default mouse theme? How can i resize the spacing between Desktop Icon? Waiting for everyone respond. Thankyou so much. P/s : My English is not good, expect you understand. :)

  • How to repair Creative Inspire Speakers 2.1 Volume Control Wheel?

    Due to dust or so, the Volume Control Wheel does not work properly. Volume goes to one speaker, and other gets muted. Vice versa. When I carefully turn the wheel sometimes the Volume works properly or sometimes with noise or muted one side. As I write this, I've cleaned it up with Petrol drops. PCB is drying. I chose Petrol because Contact Cleaner is expensive solution. Am I correct or any other method could be used? Thank you.

    Video Card : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 Therefore my video card ATI when i check system info Driver : VESA: M86 Experience : Fallback i checked compiz config manager and disable all effects insipite of this windows are moving slowly.It does not for all windows,for example when i use google chrome and scrool up/down there is no effect but when i move window to another position it moves slowly but when i use pdf reader when i scrool up or down it moves slowly.How can i solve this ? i use core 2 duo intel cpu and run ubuntu 11.10. Edit : The Solution : Upgrade kernel and then update all graphic card drivers.Now there is no problem .

  • I can not print on Windows 7 shared printer

    For a while I can not print from my Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit pc on a Windows 7 shared printer. Before that everything was ok. The printer is HP LaserJet 1100. The error message is: "File "/usr/lib/cups/backend/smb" not available: No such file or directory" I have tried to reinstall the samba, I have configured the workgroup properly. I have tried to reinstall the printer on the Ubuntu machine with the proper address, or with lpd (I have read somewhere). If I restart the printer on the cups web interface ("Resume Printer") the problem seems to be solved, but not. (The printer seems to be idle, and if I want to print, I still get the error message.) I have checked the share rights on the Windows 7 pc, and I think it is ok.

Subsequently I wrote results, but always one and the second correct field would enrolled opposite result. I want it to count the total score etc. .. I hope I have expanded well.     I am confused about what vnc reflector does. From the documentation http://sourceforge.net/projects/vnc-reflector/ I got that it's proxysitting between real VNC server (a host) and a number of VNC clients. My confusion is : 1. Does it make any changes to the coming stream from server 2. Does it make 1 connection with server to connect to many client or the connections are proportionate. Documentation is not clear in this. If anyone can help me?

    Does anyone know a kind of software that allows controlling of other computer, but the server can configure permission control? For example, the server can define five users, one of them can control, but the other four of them can only view. Also, file transfer support is required. I've tried TightVNC, it works fine with anything else, but it just does not support user permission control. RAdmin can serve this job, but I wish to find some software which is free. Thank you!

  • Computer loads BIOS, but won't load OS

    I have just purchased a brand new motherboard bundle, installed into the old case with the old PSU and the old HDD. I can get into the BIOS, but whenever I try to boot from the HDD, it just sits with the fans going, but nothing is displayed. The moniter works (tested with another machine), and I'd hope there are no problems with the motherboard, CPU or RAM because as I said I only brought them today. The only things I can think of are: The PSU's motherboard connector is a 20-pin, and the motherboard has a 24-pin connector (not a problem with the previous board) The OS is not supported (doesn't seem likly to me, but possible I guess) Here is my system configuration: Motherboard: ASUS F1A55-M le CPU: AMD APU A6 3500 HDD: 1Tb SATA RAM: 4Gb DDR3 OS: Ubuntu Satanic v666.9 PSU: Winpower ATX-400 (this thing is REALLY old) If anyone is able to offer a reason as to why this is not working, or a possible solution, it would be greatly appriciated.

I checked event viewer and got this: Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7023 Date: 3/26/2012 Time: 7:03:21 PM User: N/A Computer: SERVER2 Description: The Single Instance Storage Groveler service terminated with the following error: The service has not been started. This server is needed very soon because we just got a shipment of several Windows XP capable laptops and need to deploy Windows XP over PXE and this is keeping us from proceeding. Any help is great!!!
