  • How do I strip local symbols from linux kernel module without breaking it?

    If I do --strip-debug or --strip-unneeded, I have the .ko that lists all function names with nm, if I do just strip foo.ko I have a kernel module that refuses to load. Does anyone know a quick shortcut how to remove all symbols that are not needed for module loading so that people cannot reverse engineer the API:s as easily? PS: For all you open source bigots; this is something that general public will never be using in any case so no need to turn the question into a GPL flame war.

  • Why is it that I can include a header file in multiple cpp files that contains const int and not have a compiler error?

    Let's assume that I have files a.cpp b.cpp and file c.h. Both of the cpp files include the c.h file. The header file contains a bunch of const int definitions and when I compile them I get no errors and yet I can access those const as if they were global variables. So the question, why don't I get any compilation errors if I have multiple const definitions as well as these const int's having global-like scope?

    Maybe my question might seem a bit weird, but I have an activity in which, in one case , I have to move to another activity before it finishes loading the screen. My condition is in the onCreate method, which means when I encounter it, i get a "startActivity called from outside an activity context" error and the app just crashes... But then, is there an easy way like a flag for the intent to make it work without having the activity context resolved? thanks for any answer

    I am running a typical php-engined ajax webpage. I use echo to return a html string from the php code. My question is, if I have some other code after the echo, will those code get executed? Or echo behaves similar to exit, which immediately return and stop running the php code? Thanks.

If I try this in PHP, however: echo array("Dog","Cat,"Gates")[1] This won't work. What is this called, not only concerning arrays but all functions? Where else is it possible? Basically, when the user clicks the ellipsis in the object inspector, Delphi opens a file/open dialog. I want to replace this handling with my own, so that I can save the image's path.     Hi, I've come across two recommendations for creating custom html helpers: either extend an existing one, or write your own class. I'd prefer to keep my custom code separated, it seems a bit sloppy to extend helpers for a decent-size application. But the benefit I see in extending is that 'This HtmlHelper helper' is passed as a parameter, through which I can get ViewContext.HtmlContext. My question is, how can I roll my own helper class and still have ViewContext.HtmlContext available to me? Thanks!

I know that Vector is faster than looping an array, but I'm also in some cases using: while (i < numChildren) getChildAt(i) ...to update sprites. My question is when I use getChildAt, is that accessing an Array or Vector or linked list or other? Should I instead store references to my objects in a Vector and loop through that instead?

Can you please help / explain ? void * memmove ( void * destination, const void * source, size_t num ); So is the complexity O(num) or O(1). I suppose it's O(num), but I am not sure as I lack for now the understanding of what's going on under the hood.

    I try to move my old logfiles to a yyyy\MM\dd folder structure by Get-ChildItem . -Recurse -Include *.log | Move-Item -Dest {"D:\Archive\{0:yyyy\\MM\\dd}\{1}" -f $_.LastWriteTime, $_.Name} -Force but i get a path-not-found error. update I suspect the problem originates from the fact that the source path contains Program Files. sub question: Could the same be done without Get-ChildItem?
