    I want to use a bunch of local variables defined in a function, outside of the function, so I am passing x=locals() as a return value. How can I load all the variables defined in that dictionary into the namespace outside the function, so that instead of accessing the value using x['variable'], I could simply use variable.

  • How to install a Linux Rails gem on Windows

    I need to upload vendorize a gem which is causing problems at my host - in this case nokogiri. My host is using linux, my development system is windows. The gem contains binaries and so my local gem downloads the win32 binaries. Is there any way I can get gem to download the linux binaries, so I can vendorize and upload them?

  • Two way binding settings problem.

    Hi, I am having a problem using two way binding with a listpicker. I am able to set the value using c# but not in the SelectedItem=".." in xaml. The binding is returning the correct value (and is a value in the listpicker) as i have texted it by assigning the text to a textblock. When the page loads, the binding used on the listpicker causes a System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException The code i am using to set it is: // Update a setting value.   • PySVN: is property status "none" equivalent to unchanged?

    I know the practical difference between a PySVN property status of "normal" (has properties, not changed locally) and "none" (has no properties). My question is this: is it ever possible for there to be local modifications to an items properites, and have PySVN report the property status as "none"? I would say no, but maybe there's some corner case I'm missing.

    I am trying to install npiet (http://www.bertnase.de/npiet/). It requires libgd and libpng. I have installed both of these with macports, but when I run the configure script included with npiet, it says that it can't find them. It also doesn't recognize --with-png=/opt/local/bin.

  • Can't use attached property on combobox inside hierarchical datatemplate WPF

    I'm hoping to use an attached property to assign a command to the selection changed event of a combobox that is embedded inside a treeview. I'm attempting to set the attached property inside the hierchical data template for the tree but the command is not set and does not fire when the item in the combobox is changed.     I created a scaffold of named pais (This is a word in Portuguese of Brazil and is the same that country), i created using the follow command: ruby script\generate scaffold pais name:string abreviattion:string First I changed the inflections to my local idiom, like that: inflect.plural /^([a-zA-z]*)s$/i, '\1ses' #The plural of Pais is Paises And when I tryied to open the page on http://localhost:3000/paises I'm receiving the follow error: undefined method `edit_pais_path' for #<ActionView::Base:0x387fdf4> Thanks in advance.

    In the installation instructions for Yii it is nescessary to use console and command line utility - yiic. Well, on my shared hosting I don't have ssh access. This is why I have following questions: How often and for what reasons will I have to use console? Is there a way to avoid using yiic? May I run yiic on local server and then just transfer everything to the final web server? Thanks!

    When I run KitchenSink example project on iPhone emulator everything is OK, but trying to launch for Android emulator produces errors: [ERROR] /Users/lukasz/Android/android-sdk-mac_x86/tools/apkbuilder [ERROR] Failed installing com.appcelerator.kitchensink: pkg: /data/local/tmp/app.apk It happens whatever Androig API I choose (from 1.5 to 2.2 or from APIs 1.5 to APIs 2.2). I am using Titanium Developer 1.2.1, titanium SDK 1.4.1.11 Where is the problem? As far as I can see Android SDKs and platforms work correctly because I can successfully compile Android projects from diffrent IDE (Netbeans).

  • M-V-VM, isn't the Model leaking into the View?

    The point of M-V-VM as we all know is about speraration of concerns. In patterns like MVVM, MVC or MVP, the main purpose is to decouple the View from the Data thereby building more flexible components. I'll demonstrate first a very common scenario found in many WPF apps, and then I'll make my point: Say we have some StockQuote application that streams a bunch of quotes and displays them on screen. Which basically means, our View has knowledge of the Model. Doesn't that violate the whole paradigm of M-V-VM? Or am I missing something here....?

I find it really difficult to follow what is going on in Python when things like this break. In the languages I mentioned previously it's fairly straightforward to figure things like this out -- check the method signature and check your parameters. Looking at the Django documentation for half an hour left me just as lost. Looking at the source for get_or_create(self, **kwargs) didn't help either since there is no method signature and the code appears very generic. A next step would be to debug the method and try to figure out what is happening, but this seems a bit extreme... I seem to be missing some fundamental operating principle here... what is it? How do I resolve issues like this on my own in the future?

I'm interested in the same functionality that the debugger provides when I'm tracing a variable through execution steps, only that I need to call upon it from my code. Some sort of key-value observing, but for all kinds of variables(local, class, static, etc), not only properties. So, basically, receive a notification when a variable's value changes.

  • Segfault (possibly due to casting)

    I don't normally go to stackoverflow for sigsegv errors, but I have done all I can with my debugger at the moment. The segmentation fault error is thrown following the completion of the function. Any ideas what I'm overlooking? I suspect that it is due to the casting of the sockaddr to the sockaddr_in, but I am unable to find any mistakes there. When I "import pylibmc", then I'll get some error following: ImportError: /usr/local/python2.6/lib/python2.6/site-packages/_pylibmc.so: undefined symbol: memcached_server_list.
