    Good day! I have installed ubuntu 12.04 on my laptop and I need to have network connection on it. Have a desktop PC, where I've created ad-hoc wi-fi network(Windows 7) and can't connect to it. So, problem: I see my network in the list of networks to connect, but I cant connect to it because it's grey color and not active(can't click on it). Could somebody help me to solve that problem? Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions. I read the thread that was posted before but I don't have an ubuntu cd because I used "windows installer" ..... please don't tell me to uninstall it and install it again because I have important files and I don't want to lose. please help

    I cannot seem to install the windows platform sdk when i have visual studio 2010 installed,i followed the error code the sdk was getting and it said i need to unistall the 2010 redistribute runtimes,i did that and it has still not fixed the problem,this is very anoying as i have tried different things and been at it for atleast 5 hours now,did anyone else get this problem and know a work around? This is the order i tried install vs 2010, remove redis runtimes, install platform sdk (failed), install redis x86/x64, install service pack 1 for vs Thanks
