• SSL Certificate without host name in it

  I have implemented a web service with server and client authentication using keytool. The problem is that this authentication doesn't work if I don't include the name of the host in it. For example: keytool -genkey -alias myAlias -keyalg RSA -keypass myPassword -storepass myPassword -keystore my.keystore -dname "CN=myhost" But I don't need and I don't like validation by host or by IP. Is there any way of avoiding it? Thanks.

  Could you explain, what happens behind the scene? Transaction management when using this template in Spring is absolutely unclear. What if I invoke 10 DAO methods that all use the same Hibernatetemplate and I invoke them one after another? Every method runs within its own transaction? It's not effective is not it?

• Navigate to the Same Page After Action in JSF 2

  I have a component done in JSF 1.x, this component has a command button as follows <h:commandButton ... action="#{templateController.next}" /> Where templateController was passed as an EL binding and can be any object that implements a certain interface. The generic implementation of next() was just executing code and then returning an empty string causing the same page to refresh: public String next() { ..... return ""; } Now I am trying to port that component to JSF 2, my problem is that an empty string doesn't cause the same page to refresh anymore, instead, the framework tries to redirect to a page called ".jsf" i.e it just appends .jsf to whatever the outcome is. My question is how to return an outcome that causes the current page to refresh. My component is generic and I don't know before hand the name of the page it is going to be used on. Thanks

  I have created an array Man: public main blah blah{ man = man[10]; } Man has fields such as Man.name; Man.age; ... In Man class, there is a OnClick method that opens a new window showing its name and age. public Man(){ Onclick(){ InfoWindow showinfo = new InfoWindow(this.getid()) // If this is Man[2] the id would be 2. } And in InfoWindow class: public class InfoWindow extends JFrame{ public InfoWindow(Man selectedMan){ setSize(300, 200); JLabel info = new JLabel(selectedMan.getname()); add(info); info.setVisible(true); } } Basically, that's wanna acomplish (show in pseudocode), pass a Man[i] into a class that when a window is created, shows the info related to that man. This is how i'm actualy trying to implement it but it's not working, i'm pretty sure there is a misconception from me in some part. Any help?

  I'm building an application in Hibernate, Spring and JSF2 using only annotations. How can I take advantage of OpenSessionInViewInterceptor found in Spring to catch any hibernate session that might open within a bean? I'm trying to elegantly solve the common “failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: your.Class.assocation no session or session was closed.” problem when trying to read from a yet uninitialized list of POJOs inside another POJO (A Tag entity retrieved by a DAO that contains a List of Project objects I want to read). I've found this: http://www.paulcodding.com/blog/2008/01/21/using-the-opensessioninviewinterceptor-for-spring-hibernate3/ but failed to make use of it in my environment. Please provide a detailed answer, as the Internet is full of foggy, unhelpful tutorials. I'll also be greatful for an alternative solution, given a step-by-step instruction is provided.

I have a file called: "urlrewrite.xml" which was automatically generated by spring ROO after running the "controller" command in ROO Shell.   I am new Pentaho Reporting Tool. I have the following question: When I created a report using Pentaho Report Designer, it output a report file having .prpt extension. So as we haven't specified any datasource information here, I think that the .prpt file contains that information in it. If that's true than Isn't Jasper is better Reporting tool than Pentaho because when we display Jasper reports, we have to provide datasource details also so in that way our report is flexible and is not bound to any particular database.

  Hi, I'm having a big graph created with jfreechart. This chart is too big for the screen, so I would like to put it in a scrollpane. However, when using the scrollbar, the complete graph is redrawn everytime, which makes it extremely slow. Is there a solution for this? thanks, Bart

Unfortunately this doesn't worked correctly. It scrolls down, but not always, and not always to the bottom. Any hints?

• Using Apache Camel how do I unmarshal my deserialized object that comes in through a CXF Endpoint?

  I have a very simple camel route. It starts with a CXF Endpoint exposed as a web service. I then want to convert it to xml and call a method on a bean. Currently i'm getting a CXF specific object after the web service call. How do I take my serialized object out of the CXF MessageList and use it going forward?   I do not find actual difference between these two J2EE server. From my past experience, I found out following: WL is evolving more faster than WAS. WL is more user friendly than WAS. To simply deploy a application in WAS, we need to go in deep and its difficult to find if u are new to it. I found out that WAS is slower in some machine than WL. I found out that Classloading is easier to understand and effective in WL than WAS Above all are my experiences but not actual facts. I want to know more in this respect. Please clear my doubts. If possible please provide each J2EE server's pros and cons. -Abhishek

• Authenticating a single request with httpclient 4.x

  I have an HttpClient instance that's shared by a number of threads. I would like to use it to make a single authenticated request. Because only the single request should be authenticated, I don't want to modify the HttpClient instance as described in the documentation. Here's what I've worked out instead, which isn't working. • JDBC Realm: GlassFish v2.1 = OK; GlassFish v3 = fail with invaliduserreason

  In my J2EE 5 application I have a JDBC Realm based security with Form method. Encrypt method is MD5 as default. The database is PostgreSQL 8.4 installed locally (or 8.3 available via lan). My app used to work finely on GlassFish v2.1 server with PostgreSQL 8.3, but now I need to deploy it on GlassFish v3. I am absolutely sure I have done all the same config on GFv3 like creating Connection Pool (which pings with no problem), JDBC Resource and JDBC Realm. But on GFv3 I get login exception with "invaliduserreason" while the database schema is just created from the working database script. I have checked the data and entered login/password thousand times and it seems that data is all right. So where can I find the reason of unworking security? Please, advice. NetBeans 6.8 Thanks.

  I'm trying to spot-test an Oracle backed database with hsqldb and dbunit, but I've run into a snag. The problem is with the following EJB-QL (simplified a bit): SELECT o FROM Offer o WHERE :nowTime BETWEEN o.startDate AND o.startDate + 7 This seems to only work in Oracle's version of SQL. What's the easiest way for me to convert this to work in both hsqldb and oracle? Assume that changing the two between arguments to named parameters is a very difficult refactor, so I'm going to favor answers that provides a more standardized analog to o.startdate + 7 EDIT: After doing some more research, it looks like Oracle converts the above snippet to o.startdate + INTERVAL '7' DAY which is apparently more standard, but doesn't work in HSQLDB.

My guess would be: Know how to use CVS Know how to use Bugzilla Know how to develop core libraries in Eclipse Know how to develop plugins in Eclipse Know how to develop for the wst.jsdt project I've never done the latter three, so I was just wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction. I already looked at a document for developing in JSDT, but I'm still a little uncertain about what I need to look for to develop for Eclipse, since it comes in various flavors/distros (i.e. WDT)

  For my semester project, my team and I are supposed to make a .jar file (library, not runnable) that contains a game development framework and demonstrate the concepts of OOP. Its supposed to be a FRAMEWORK and another team is supposed to use our framework and vice-versa. So I want to know how we should start. We thought of several approaches: 1. • How to "escape" a whole String - an SQL query

  When I add a relative path to an SQL query as a String all the \ get removed. I am trying to add the String ("pics\\"+onlyFile) and as you can see I have escaped the \ character so I don't understand why it is being removed. onlyFile is a variable containing a file name. The value of the "src" variable (the one I am discussing) just before the SQL statement is correct, hence it is something happening when it is added to the SQL query.

• Out of Memory - web applications

  Hi all, I am trying to figure out why Jetty 6.1.22 is running out of memory on my laptop. I have 2 web applications running JBoss Seam, Hibernate (with EHCache), and separate Quartz scheduler instances. With little load, the server dies throwing OutOfMemory. What can I look for? Would you think that I am not properly closing handles for input streams or files? I tried profiling my application with Netbeans, but it works off and on. Usually, it ends up locking up even though it doesn't use that much CPU or memory. Walter
