  • Using FluentValidation with Castle Windsor and Entity Framework 4.0 (POCO) in MVC2

    This isn't a very simple question, but hopefully someone has run across it. I am trying to get the following things working together: MVC2 FluentValidation Entity Framework 4.0 (POCO) Castle Windsor I've pretty much gotten everything working. I have Castle Windsor implemented and working with the Controllers being served up by the WindsorControllerFactory that is part of MVCContrib. I also have Castle serving up the FluentValidation validators as is described by this article: http://www.jeremyskinner.co.uk/2010/02/22/using-fluentvalidation-with-an-ioc-container/ My problem comes in when I try to use Html.EditorForModel or EditorFor on a view. When I try to do that I get this error message: No component for supporting the service FluentValidation.IValidator`1[[System.Data.Entity.DynamicProxies.State_71C51A42554BA6C3CF05105DA05435AD209602C217FC4C34CA52ACEA2B06B99B, EntityFrameworkDynamicProxies-BrindleyInsurance.BusinessObjects, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null]] was found This is due to using the POCO generation on Entity Framework 4.0. At runtime, the generated classes get wrapped with a Dynamic Proxy so tracking and lazy loading can happen. Apparently, when using EditorForModel or EditorFor, it tries to ask Windsor to create a validator for the dynamic proxy type instead of the underlying real type. Does anyone know what I can do to solve this issue?

  • Detecting validation errors in Silverlight 4

    I'm using the new Silverlight 4 support for IDataErrorInfo. So I have a POCO object that has implemented the interface, and when a validation rule fires the Silverlight UI correctly shows the error. So that is all working fine. The POCO object looks like this: public class SomeDomainClass : IDataErrorInfo { public string SomeString { get; set; } public string Error { get { return String.Empty; } } public string this[string columnName] { get { if (columnName == "SomeString" && PolicyNumber.Contains("%")) return "SomeString cannot contain '%'. You'll ruin everything!!!"; return String.Empty; } } } However, I want to be able to detect whether or not there are any errors on the page. For example if I have a Save button and I want to disable it if there are errors, or display a message or something. What is the best way to detect if there are existing validation errors on the page? Is there a facility for this based around the IDataErrorInfo support in Silverlight? Or do I have to track it in the domain model myself?

  • Strings in array are no longer strings after jQuery.each()

    I'm pretty confused with the behaviour of arrays of strings when I loop them through the jQuery.each() method. Apparently, the strings become jQuery objects inside the callback function. However, I cannot use the this.get() method to obtain the original string; doing so triggers a this.get is not a function error message. I suppose the reason is that it's not a DOM node. I can do $(this).get() but it makes my string become an array (from "foo" to ["f", "o", "o"]). How can I cast it back to string? I need to get a variable of String type because I pass it to other functions that compare the values among them. I need to have the jquery function modalDialog as a separate function because the html table use ajax partial rendering... The problem is when i click the a href link first time nothing happens, second click on the links gives med two modal dialog and third click gives me three modal dialog and so on...

But once it points to a different site, all the fields appear, but the values all appear in the following format: Failed to render "Title" column because of an error in the "Single line of text" field type control. See details in log. Exception message: List does not exist The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user.. If I change the ControlMode to Edit, the values are displayed correctly. So how do I get it to work while in Display mode?

  • Binary serialization/de-serialization in C++ and C#

    Hello. I am working on a distributed application which has two components. One is written in standard C++ (not managed C++) and the other one is written in C#. Both are communicating via a message bus. I have a situation in which I need to pass objects from C++ to C# application and for this I need to serialize those objects in C++ and de-serialize them in C# (something like marshaling/un-marshaling in .NET). I need to perform this serialization in binary and not in XML (due to performance reasons). I have used Boost.Serialization to do this when both ends were implemented in C++ but now that I have a .NET application on one end, Boost.Serialization is not a viable solution. I am looking for a solution that allows me to perform (de)serialization across C++ and .NET boundary i.e., cross platform binary serialization. I know I can implement the (de)serialization code in a C++ dll and use P/Invoke in the .NET application, but I want to keep that as a last resort. Also, I want to know if I use some standard like gzip, will that be efficient? Are there any other alternatives to gzip? What are the pros/cons of them? Thanks

    We are working on a 3-tier application, and we've been allowed to use the latest and greatest (MVC2, IIS7.5, WCF, SQL2k8, etc). The application tier is exposed to the various web applications by WCF services. Since we control both the service and client side, we've decided to use net.tcp bindings for their performance advantage over HTTP. We would like to use ELMAH for the error logging, both on the web apps and services. Here's my question. There's lots of information about using ELMAH with WCF, but it is all for HTTP bindings. Does anyone know if/how you can use ELMAH with WCF services exposing non-HTTP endpoints? My guess is no, because ELMAH wants the HttpContext, which requires the AspNetCompatibilityEnabled flag to be true in the web.config. From MSDN: IIS 7.0 and WAS allows WCF services to communicate over protocols other than HTTP. However, WCF services running in applications that have enabled ASP.NET compatibility mode are not permitted to expose non-HTTP endpoints. Such a configuration generates an activation exception when the service receives its first message. If it is true that you cannot use ELMAH with WCF services having non-HTTP endpoints, then the follow-up question is: Can we use ELMAH in such a way that doesn't need HttpContext? Or more generally (so as not to commit the thin metal ruler error), is there ANY way to use ELMAH with WCF services having non-HTTP endpoints?

  • Integration test failing through NUnit Gui/Console, but passes through TestDriven in IDE

    I am using NHibernate against an Oracle database with the NHibernate.Driver.OracleDataClientDriver driver class. I have an integration test that pulls back expected data properly when executed through the IDE using TestDriven.net. However, when I run the unit test through the NUnit GUI or Console, NHibernate throws an exception saying it cannot find the Oracle.DataAccess assembly. Obviously, this prevents me from running my integration tests as part of my CI process. NHibernate.HibernateException : The IDbCommand and IDbConnection implementation in the assembly Oracle.DataAccess could not be found. Ensure that the assembly Oracle.DataAccess is located in the application directory or in the Global Assembly Cache. If the assembly is in the GAC, use element in the application configuration file to specify the full name of the assembly.* I have tried making the assembly available in two ways, by copying it into the bin\debug folder and by adding the element in the config file. Again, both methods work when executing through TestDriven in the IDE. Neither work when executing through NUnit GUI/Console. The NUnit Gui log displays the following message. 21:42:26,377 ERROR [TestRunnerThread] ReflectHelper [(null)]- Could not load type Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection, Oracle.DataAccess.   • Consume a WCF Web Service in Sharepoint Services 3.0

    I've seen this question and since it doesn't answer my question and the topic is fairly miss-leading in my opinion, I feel the urge to ask this again. I have a Sharepoint Webpart that I deploy using Visual Studio Sharepoint Tools 1.2 to a Sharepoint Services 3.0 instance on my local Windows 2003 server. All works great, however, as soon as I add a WCF Service it won't run the code. All I get is a File not found error.   • BizTalk WCF Service

    Hi, I am getting an error in my event viewer after deploying a wcf service on our server. The Messaging Engine received an error from transport adapter "WCF-BasicHttp" when notifying the adapter with the BatchComplete event. Reason "Value does not fall within the expected range.". The thing is, this service was running before and worked fine. I just modified a schema a bit, undeployed the service and redeployed. When I then talk to this service the event viewer shows me this message. If I deploy the same service locally it works fine. Also if I browse to my service with explorer it shows no errors. Normally when the receive location is wrong or the used user isn't in the isolated biztalk usergroup it gives an error here, but this isn't the case. Anyone have any idea what I should do? My problem is pretty urgent.. I googled my errormessage but without much success. Thanks yall

  • PHP MYSQL FPDF retrieving pdf string stored as blob.

    Using the above technologies, I want to create a PDF, store it in my db, and email it. All with the click of one button. I also want to call it up and have it be able to display with a hyperlink. I am very new to FPDF. Therefore, I am trying to start off very slowly. I began with this link stackoverflow Q I put both parts of his code into the same page and tried with separate pages. I made the suggested changes/additions and even did a line by line comparison. I still get the message, "format error: not a PDF or corrupted" If I just $pdf-Output(); I get the pdf to display. It's either the way the string is being Output, or it's the header() function. It's not the storage method, unless my column setup is incorrect. BUt a blob is a blob, right? If you want, I can upload the sanitized code. Just let me know what would help answer this. Thanks JJ

  • Zend Studio Debugger returns Application Error

    When I run debug for my public/index.php I got an application error as output. I've seen that it occurs at this line: foreach($feed->findFeedEntries($entriesLimit) as $entry) If I put a breakpoint before this, all works as expected, I mean, the error is after the line above. If I remove findFeedEntries() method, I can perform debugging without erros. Anyway, this was supposed to be my first function. Yet, it doesn't work! But when I type out all the steps individually, it runs just fine...     Hi I'm having a bit of a nightmare here! I'mv trying output a webform to html using page.rendercontrol and htmltextwriter but it is resulting in a blank email. I tried this fix: http://forums.asp.net/p/1016960/1368933.aspx#1368933 and added: public override void VerifyRenderingInServerForm(Control control) { return; } But now the errror I get is: VerifyRenderingInServerForm(Control)': no suitable method found to override Does anyone have a fix for this?   • TeX Font Mapping

    I am using a package written on top of XeLaTeX. This package uses fontspec to specify fonts for different parts of your text: latin, non-latin, math mode, ... The package comes with several sample files. I was able to xelatex most of them that depend on regular ttf or otf files. However, one of them tries to set the font of digits in math mode to some font, say "NonLatin Digits". But, the font doesn't seem to be a regular font. There are two files in the same directory called "nonlatindigits.map" and "nonlatindigits.tec". TECkit uses these mapping files to generate TeX fonts. However, for some reason it fails to create the files, and xelatex issues the following error message. kpathsea: Invalid fontname `NonLatin Digits', contains ' ' ! Font \zf@basefont="NonLatin Digits" at 10.0pt not loadable: Metric (TFM) file or installed font not found. The kpathsea program complains about the whitespace, but removing the whitespace does solve the problem with loading the TFM file. Any clues what I am doing wrong?

    I am trying to capture screenshots on test failure using selenium-client and rspec. I run this command: $ spec my_spec.rb \ --require 'rubygems,selenium/rspec/reporting/selenium_test_report_formatter' \ --format=Selenium::RSpec::SeleniumTestReportFormatter:./report.html It creates the report correctly when everything passes, since no screenshots are required. Am I missing something important in my spec?   • Error editing a blob field in ArcGIS Engine

    I have a GIS layer backed by a MSSQL db. The features on the layer have, say, one field of type esriFieldTypeString and one of type esriFieldTypeBlob. I can edit the string field just fine, but, when I try to edit a blob, StopEditOperation() throws a very generic exception (message: "Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.", error code: -2147467259). I couldn't find anything related in the server log. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?     Setup I have multiple links on a page with the class location_link Each Links rel attribute is equal to a city state combo (i.e.,Omaha, NE) Once the page is loaded, a JavaScript function loops through all of the location_link items and binds a click event to them using jQuery. This click event fires a call to the Fancybox constructor that is supposed to show a Google Map of the location that link is associated with The Problem: Whenever I click on one of the "location links", I get the following error message: The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later. The The Image URL I'm using does resolve and pulls back the data I need When I put the above mentioned URL into a standard <img> tag, the map shows up just fine. I'd like to pull this off without having to create some sort of dummy <img> tag that I'm constantly switching the src attribute out of. Hopefully, you'll find this information helpful.   • InstallShield 2010 with license - no license for automatic build system (CI) as Windows service

    I really need help here. We are using CI build-process (Hudson) as an automated build system using Msbuild. The CI run in Apache Tomcat 6 that run under the credentials of a domain user (not a local Windows user ). Every time the CI try to build an InstallShield project (using isproj files) we get a license error message: " C:\Program Files\MSBuild\InstallShield\2010\InstallShield.targets(62,3): error : -7159: The product license has expired or has not yet been initialized. You must launch the IDE to configure the product license in order to proceed. C:\Program Files\MSBuild\InstallShield\2010\InstallShield.targets(62,3): error : Exception Caught". If I log in to the same machine with the same domain user credentials and build the InstallShield project there is a license and it is working well. Adding the user to the local Users group doesn't help (no license). Adding the user to the local Administrators group helps and it is working. We do not want the user to be in the local Administrators group - for various reasons. What do I need to do to make it work? Do I need to add permissions to the use? Help will be highly appreciated. If you're familiar with AutoHotkey or AutoIT on Windows, then you know exactly the kind of features I need, with the level of complexity. If you aren't familiar, then here's a small code snippet of how easy it is to use AHK: InputBox, varInput, Please enter some random text... Run, notepad.exe WinWaitActive, Untitled - Notepad SendInput, %varInput% SendInput, !f{Up}{Enter}{Enter} WinWaitActive, Save SendInput, SomeRandomFile{Enter} MsgBox, Your text`, %varInput% has been saved using notepad! #n::Run, notepad.exe Now the above example, although a bit pointless, is a demo of the sort of functionality and simplicity I'm looking for. Here's an explanation for those who don't speak AHK: ----Start of Explanation of Code ---- Asks user to input some text and stores it in varInput Runs notepad.exe Waits till window exists and is active Sends the contents of varInput as a series of keystrokes Sends keystrokes to go to File - Exit Waits till the "Save" window is active Sends some more keystrokes Shows a Message Box with some text and the contents of a variable Registers a hotkey, Win+N, which when pressed executes notepad.exe ----End of Explanation---- So as you can understand, the features are quite obvious: Ability to easily simulate keyboard and mouse functions, read input, process and display output, execute programs, manipulate windows, register hotkeys, etc.. all being done without requiring any #includes, unnecessary brackets, class declarations etc. In short: Simple. Now I've played around a bit with Perl and Python, but its definitely no AHK. They're great for more advanced stuff, but surely, there has to be some tool out there for easy GUI automation? PS: I've already tried running AHK with Wine but sending keystrokes and hotkeys don't work.
