• Front-end phtml template form doesn't connect to controller.php file

  The web system which I'm working on right now, has a add.phtml (in views folder) form, which contain normal form elements and pageController.php (in Controller folder) file which has function to be connected when user hit "add page" button on the form. The codes goes like this. on add.phtml file, input type = "submit" value ="Add Page" on pageController.php file, function insertAction(){ } For some reason these two doesn't connect now. Is anybody have any idea why this doesn't work or what should I check on this kind of a problem. The web system on zend framewok. I really appreciate if someone can help me.

• Getting ListView values into a string array?

  I have a ListView control set up in details mode, and on a button press I would like to retrieve all column values from that row in the ListView. • C# - .WAV Playback Randomly High Pitch

  For some reason, when a WAV file is played back using the snippet below, it randomly plays back screwy, like a high pitch noise. It doesn't happen all the time, just randomly. It seems to happen more often when it is played back more frequently. The WAV properties are below along with the code snippet I am using. WAV Properties: Bit Rate - 750kbps Audio Sample Size - 16 bit Channels - 1 (mono) Audio Sample Rate - 44kHz Audio Format - PCM Snippet: System.Media.SoundPlayer myPlayer = new System.Media.SoundPlayer(Captcha.Properties.Resources.sound1); myPlayer.Play(); Is this because of the way I am playing the file or the file itself?   How to I get my security policy working? My parent swf parses an XML doc and loads 2 children. It throws a 2148 security error, and only works in the Flash IDE. PARENT SWF flash.system.Security.loadPolicyFile("crossdomain.xml"); I've referenced my security file from my swf. I Also published my parent swf as 'network only' and put all the crossdomain.xml and everything else in the same folder. I need to click on the animations and have them place from a local computer at a kiosk. Any suggestions?   I'm working on moving my current server setup to newer hardware, and migrating from ubuntu karmic koala to lucid lynx. Currently i'm using gw6c (compiled from the gogo6 website, as opposed to the version from the repositories) to get ipv6 access for my systems. On the karmic koala system, i used simple init.d script to get the ipv6 client started #! /bin/sh /usr/local/gw6c/bin/gw6c -f /usr/local/gw6c/bin/gw6c.conf I figured since this runs at any runlevel, it should translate to respawn console none start on startup stop on shutdown script exec /usr/local/gw6c/bin/gw6c -f /usr/local/gw6c/bin/gw6c.conf emit free6_ipv6_started end script this works fine started from initctrl, but it apparently fails to start when it boots. - its status being stop/waiting. It works fine (and respawns) when started otherwise.Any ideas on where i'm going wrong, and what would be the appropriate 'start on' arguement? EDIT: the exact error is 'init: gw6c main process (xxx) ended with status 8' followed by the process respawning , with xxx being a PID i suspect. I'm also half suspecting this is cause gw6c starts before networking does, and i need my eth0 up before gw6c is

• c++ normalizing data sizes across systems

  I have a struct with three variables: two unsigned ints and an unsigned char. From my understanding, a c++ char is always 1 byte regardless of what operating system it is on. The same can't be said for other datatypes. I am looking for a way to normalize POD's so that when saved into a binary file, the resulting file is readable on any operating system that the code is compiled for. I changed my struct to use a 1-byte alignment by adding #pragma as follows: #pragma pack(push, 1) struct test { int a; } #pragma pack(pop) but that doesn't necessarily mean that int a is exactly 4 bytes on every os, I don't think? Is there a way to ensure that a file saved from my code will always be readable?

• Ensuring all waiting threads complete

  I'm building a system where the progress of calling threads is dependent on the state of two variables. One variable is updated sporadically by an external source (separate from the client threads) and multiple client threads block on a condition of both variables. The system is something like this TypeB waitForB() { // Can be called by many threads. synchronized (B) { while (A <= B) { B.wait(); } A = B; return B; { } void updateB(TypeB newB) { // Called by one thread. synchronized (B) { B.update(newB); B.notifyAll(); // All blocked threads must receive new B. } } I need all the blocked threads to receive the new value of B once it has been updated. But the problem is once a single thread finishes and updates A, the waiting condition becomes true again so some of the other threads become blocked and don't receive the new value of B. Is there a way of ensuring that only the last thread that was blocked on B updates A, or another way of getting this behaviour?

  Hi all, I am implementing a view system and I want to keep track of all the dirty rects. It seems my dirty rect management is a bottleneck for the whole system. On one hand, invalidating the bounding box of the dirty region seems to be an easy approach. But in the situation like this: Say I have a client area of 100x100; I have a dirty rect with (0, 0, 1, 1) and another dirty rect with (99, 99, 1, 1). Invalidating the bounding box which turns out to be 100x100 is not efficient at all. So I want to ask if someone can give any hint or give me a link of the related literatures. Thanks in advance!

• XMLHttpRequest progressive download?

  Just for fun I was creating a JavaScript console for controlling my PC. It involves a small webserver that takes command strings and forwards those to the system using popen calls (to be more specific popen4 on a Ruby mongrel server). The stdout channels are redirected to the http response. The problem is that the response only arrives once the entire contents of stdout has been sent. This is ok for small commands, but not for a command like find / which lists all the files in the system. In such situations it would be nice to have the results shown progressively in the webview (just like in the regular terminal). I thought that using XMLHttpRequest synchronously might result in progressive downloading, but it doesn't seem so. Is there any way to make it work?

  I am involved in this project, Pinta, and we are currently using GitHub for our development. We all love Git and GitHub and want to keep using it. However, now the project is getting stable and involved, and it's time we started using a more capable bug tracking system than GitHub's simple issue tracker. We also want to start doing GetText based translations. We are looking at Launchpad which has both a nice bug tracker and translation manager, but we want to keep using GitHub for development. I'm worried that these will not integrate well, and it will make development harder. Has anyone used GitHub with another bug tracking system and had any success? Any recommendations?

  For our first assignment in a System Security class, we have to hack into the professors "cheaply organized" sql database. I know the only user is "admin" and the select statement generated in the php is: select user_id from user where user_username = 'admin' AND user_password = md5('noob') I am having a number of problems attempting to bypass the password part of this statement as the professor has some javascript embedded in the page to sanitize the username and password of any non-alphanumeric values. This can be bypassed by turning off javascript :P but any values sent still get cleaned by the operating system (some build of Debian 32-bit). I've seen the code for the login request and it does not escape any characters. How do I bypass the operating systems escape sequences?

• How to backup virtual machines on a standalone ESXi host?

  Standalone ESXi (4.1) host without any vCenter Server. How to backup virtual machines as quickly and storage-friendly as possible? I know I can access the ESXi console and use the standard Unix cp command, but this has the downfall of copying the whole VMDK files, not only their actually used space; so, for a 30-GB VMDK of which only 1 GB is used, the backup would take 30 full GBs of space, and time accordingly. And yes, I know about thin-provisioned virtual disks, but they tend to behave very badly when physically copied, and/or to blow up to their full provisioned size; also, they are not recommended for actual VM performance. It is ok for me to shut down the VMs before backing them up (i.e. I don't need "live" backups); but I need a way to copy them around efficiently; and yes, a way to automate shutdown/startup when taking a backup would also help. I only have ESXi; no Service Console, no vCenter Server... what's the best way to handle this task? Also, what about restores?

  I have a DataGridView, and would like to hook into the CellEndEdit event. I've been able to successfully hook into the CellContentClick event, but am having issues with CellEndEdit. I added the following code to my Form1.cs file: private void dataGridView1_CellEndEdit(object sender, DataGridViewCellCancelEventArgs e) { dataGridView1[0, 0].Value = "Changed"; } With that code, nothing happens when I am done editing a cell. Is there anything else that I need to do to successfully hook into this event?
