    I have a column defined like this: <DataGridTextColumn Binding="{Binding Path=FileSizeBytes, Mode=OneWay}" Header="Size" IsReadOnly="True" /> But instead of displaying the file size as a big number, I'd like to display units, but still have it sort by the actual FileSizeBytes. Is there some way I can run it through a function or something before displaying it?

  • Jquery file format

    HI. I have multiple webpages. So I have a common external js file. And I have added this js file to every page. I have multiple check boxes in every page. And I have written the click event in the external, common js file. But I wonder how the js file should be? Currently I have written like this. $(document).ready(function() { $(".chk").click(function() { alert("hi"); }); }); But whenever I click a checkbox the click event is fired twice. it should be once. I dont know where is the error, is there any error in writing the js file? please comment.

    Hello all , I have a string like "SAB_bARGS_D" . What I want is that the string gets divided into list of characters but whenever there is a _ sign the next character gets appended to the previous one. So the answer to above should be ['S','A','B_b','A','R','G','S_D'] It can be done by using a for loop traversing through the list but is there an inbuilt function that I can use..... Thanks a lot

  • use printf("text %d", number) type format to assign value to variable

    I would like to use the syntax that printf uses, using the %d, %s and adding values after to assign a value to a char[]. Is this possible? e.g. Given an output of: printf("now: %d-%d-%d %d:%d:%d\n", tm.tm_year + 1900, tm.tm_mon + 1, tm.tm_mday, tm.tm_hour, tm.tm_min, tm.tm_sec); I'd like to assign that to char[] output; How can this be done? I tried: sprintf(output, "now: %d-%d-%d %d:%d:%d\n", tm.tm_year + 1900, tm.tm_mon + 1, tm.tm_mday, tm.tm_hour, tm.tm_min, tm.tm_sec); but that didn't seem to work. Is sprintf used differently... or is that not what I should be using? Thanks!

    Hi, in C if I have a printf statement containing say "%.2f", it says that the precision is 2 digits after the decimal place. I haven't explicitly specify the width. I have two questions: Is this good programming practice?; Is without specifying the width means that the width of the field will get adjusted automatically when printing the number, irrespective of the number of digits it contains?   • How do I choose a package format for Linux software distribution?

    We have a Java-based application that, to date, we've been distributing as a tarball with instructions for deploying. It's mostly self-contained so deployment is fairly straight-forward: Untar on the disk you'd like it to live on; Make sure Java is in your path and a suitable distro and version; Verify ownership and group on all the files Start up the server processes with our start script If the user wants to get in to start-on-boot stuff with SysV we have some written instructions and a template init file for it in our tarball. We'd like to make this installation process a little more seamless; take care of the permissions and the init script deployment. We're also going to start bundling our own JRE with the application so that we're mostly free of external dependencies. The question we're faced with now is: how do we pick a package format for distribution? Is RPM the standard? Can all package management tools deal with it now? Our clients primarily run RHEL and CentOS, but we do have some using SuSE and even Debian. If we can pick a distro-agnostic format we'd prefer that. What about a self-extracting shell script? Something akin to how Java is distributed. If we're dependency-free would the self-extracting script be sufficient? What features or conveniences would we lose out on going with the script versus a proper package format meant for use by a package manager?

  • How do I set advanced file associations in Windows 7?

    It used to be in Windows XP that I could make Warcraft III files load automatically into the game by double clicking on them. This association was made by going to file associations ADVANCED area and using this line: "C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\War3.exe" -loadfile "%1" Note that it takes an argument and an option. However, in Windows 7, the "Default Programs" "Set Associations" area doesn't seem to have this advanced area. Can I still get these files to open automatically?

  • Existing parsers in c# (BSD license or similar)

    I am looking for parsers (in C#) for a bunch of formats. (PHP, ASP, some XML based formats, HTML,...pretty much anything I can get my hands on.) The purpose is to separate the text from the code and do some edits without messing up the code. I had a look at ANTLR, but while it seems like the "right tool", there is just too much prior knowledge assumed. I have an easier time writing a parser from scratch than understanding how to "easily" generate parsers from ANTLR. (I wrote a small parser for a specific type of RTF files within a couple days, so the task is probably within my reach, but as I have no formal knowledge of parsing/lexing, I am at loss with ANTLR) Then it occurred to me that there must existing parsers for many formats, so before I start writing yet another a brand new and potentially buggy version of the wheel, I figured I would check what parsers already exist and can be reused in a commercial product. I could use parsers for just about every format in existence, so this question would be a good place to make a list of all existing free parsers written in C#, if there are any.   • Which forum software has the most advanced community/GetSatisfaction type features?

    I need to assemble a GetSatisfaction/Lithium/Jive type support forum/community. The first is not available in the desired language and the last two are priced for the enterprise market. I did research some other options (open source or SaaS) but they all seem to be either: kind of dead (open source options) too focused in gathering ideas/feedback (uservoice) strictly support without the community/voting features (zendesk) I need an open forum (people powered support/UGC with community/voting features). Therefore I will have to do some of the work on my own. I want to piece things (plugins/mods/etc) on top of a standard forum platform to give it the features I need. For this purpose, I want to use a mature product with widespread userbase, active community and lots of plugin options. I believe most will agree that my options therefore are: vBulletin phpBB SMF Here are the questions: Which one of the three above offers the easier path towards the desired goal? Which one of the three above has the most advanced features related to the desired goal? Of course I dont expect anyone to know these answers cut and dry. I am hoping to hear some experiences and see some examples. Also, it would be great if both those questions had the same answer, but I am not going to get my hopes up... PS: I wish I could add the tags "phpbb" and "smf" ;)

I understand the sort of skills required for a developer in PHP and MySQL. But coming to the Linux and Apache what kind of the skills exactly companies expect from a developer? On what should I be focusing in case of Linux, Apache whilst developing my website using these LAMP stack? I am going to develop a new website and want it to be using LAMP. But I want to know what difference it makes? Why LAMP stack got more demand in the job market compared to WAMP ?   • Are these advanced/unfair interview questions regarding Java concurrency?

    Here are some questions I've recently asked interviewees who say they know Java concurrency: Explain the hazard of "memory visibility" - the way the JVM can reorder certain operations on variables that are unprotected by a monitor and not declared volatile, such that one thread may not see the changes made by another thread. Usually I ask this one by showing code where this hazard is present (e.g. the NoVisibility example in Listing 3.1 from "Java Concurrency in Practice" by Goetz et al) and asking what is wrong. Explain how volatile affects not just the actual variable declared volatile, but also any changes to variables made by a thread before it changes the volatile variable. Why might you use volatile instead of synchronized? Implement a condition variable with wait() and notifyAll(). Explain why you should use notifyAll(). Explain why the condition variable should be tested with a while loop. My question is - are these appropriate or too advanced to ask someone who says they know Java concurrency? And while we're at it, do you think that someone working in Java concurrency should be expected to have an above-average knowledge of Java garbage collection?

  • I have a problem with a AE1200 Cisco/Linksys Wireless-N USB adapter having stopped working after I ran the update manager in Ubuntu 12.04

    Here is the problem, I use a Cisco/Linksys AE1200 wireless network adapter to connect my desktop to a public wifi internet connection. I use ndiswrapper to use the windows driver and it had been working fine for me untill I ran the update manager overnight a few days ago.   • Flex: convert VideoPlayer.currentTime to string "00:00:00:000"

  • Weird response for controller.request.format.html? in Rails

    In my main controller, I have this: class MainController < ApplicationController before_filter do |controller| logger.info "controller.request.format.html? = #{controller.request.format.html?}" logger.info "controller.request.format.fbml? = #{controller.request.format.fbml?}" controller.send :login_required if controller.request.format.html? controller.send :facebook_auth_required if controller.request.format.fbml? end As expected, I get "true" for the ...fbml? line if a request comes from Facebook (my facebooker gem automatically sets the format). However, I get "5" for the ...html? line if the request comes from Facebook. Why would a method with a ? ever return a "5"? Isn't that against Rails conventions? Also, I think "5" is considered true so this might mess up my filters. Still looking into that... Any ideas?

  • Getting hp-snmp-agents on HP ProLiant DL360 on Lenny working

    After receiving our HP ProLiant DL360 I'd like to integrate the machine into our Munin system and thus enable ProLiant specific information to be exposed via SNMP. I'm running Debian Lenny with kernel 2.6.26-2-vserver-amd64 . I've followed http://downloads.linux.hp.com/SDR/getting_started.html and the HP repository has been added to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/HP-ProLiantSupportPack.list . Setting up Lenny SNMP itself is not a problem, I configure it to have a public v1 community string to read all data and it works. I install hp-snmp-agents and run hpsnmpconfig and it adds additional lines to the top of /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf : dlmod cmaX /usr/lib64/libcmaX64.so snmpd gets restarted. Via lsof I can see that libcmaX64 was loaded and is used by snmpd, put I do not get any additional information out of snmp. I use snmpwalk -v 1 -c public ... and I can see many OIDs but I do not see the new ones I'd expect, most notably temperatures, fan speed and such.     i am trying format an FAT (or FAT32) file system on my ubuntu system, but i am not able to format the device, each time i am getting the error "Both FATs appear to be corrupt. Giving up." i have tried all options like sudo dosfsck -t -a -w /dev/sdc1 sudo dosfsck -w -r -l -a -v -t /dev/sdc1 but each time the same message comes, can any one guide me how to recover the filesystem, also i don't mind losing data of this drive as this is an external pen drive. Also, can u pl suggest of some method other then booting from a CD with software like GPARTED or something like that.

    I have an InfoPath Form template that has some Date Picker controls in it bound to elements in an xml data source. I know I can change the display format of the date by going into the Date Picker Properties and setting the date format. This foramt is only used for display puposes when the form is being filled out. When the form is saved as an xml file the date is always stored in the format YYYY-MM-DD. Is there a way to change the date format that gets serialized to xml? I'm using InfoPath 2007.

    Globally Unique Identifiers (GUID) are a grouped string with a specific format which I assume has a security reason. A GUID is most commonly written in text as a sequence of hexadecimal digits separated into five groups, such as: 3F2504E0-4F89-11D3-9A0C-0305E82C3301 Why aren't GUID/UUID strings just random bytes encoded using hexadecimal of X length? This text notation contains the following fields, separated by hyphens: | Hex digits | Description |------------------------- | 8 | Data1 | 4 | Data2 | 4 | Data3 | 4 | Initial two bytes from Data4 | 12 | Remaining six bytes from Data4 There are also several versions of the UUID standards.
