  • [C#] Running elevated applications on user login with UAC?

    I need to start a program every time the user logs in, but I cannot do this without being met by a UAC dialog asking for permissions for that application. Is there any way to have an application start up on user login without the user having to answer the UAC prompt? I was thinking about running a service, but this would be a last resort. I saw something about an Application Compatibility Toolkit to disable UAC for certain applications, but I feel this is too big of a hassle - even services would be easier to program. I was just wondering if there is an even easier solution I am missing. Thanks in advance.

  • NHibernate does not update entity when repository is passed by constructor

    Hi everybody, I am developing with NHibernate for the first time in conjunction with ASP.NET MVC and StructureMap. The CodeCampServer serves as a great example for me. I really like the different concepts which were implemented there and I can learn a lot from it. In my controllers I use Constructur Dependency Injection to get an instance of the specific repository needed.   • Form creating sites with output

    Sites lite faary.com wufoo.com/and theformsite.com help you building forms But the output tables that being created are password protected as far as i know. Are there sites/scripts like the above which can make the output visible to all ? Something like a "guest book" script/form that you can edit the fields and the output will show immediately ?   • Why does Eclipse crash with Xmx, XX:MaxPermSize above certain values?

    Running Eclipse 3.5.1, JDK 1.6.0_17 on WinXP SP3 32Bit with 3.5 gigs of RAM. I'm aware of the known Eclipse best practices, still trying to figure out eclipse.ini. This will launch: -Xmx588m and this won't: -Xmx589m. Same with -XX:MaxPermSize. Anything above -XX:MaxPermSize=140m won't launch. The screen of death is simlar to this (taken from here). Any ideas on why might this be happening?

  • C#: Perform Operations on GPU, not CPU (Calculate Pi)

    Hello, I've recently read a lot about software (mostly scientific/math and encryption related) that moves part of their calculation onto the GPU which causes a 100-1000 (!) fold increase in speed for supported operations. Is there a library, API or other way to run something on the GPU via C#? I'm thinking of simple Pi calculation. I have a GeForce 8800 GTX if that's relevant at all (would prefer card independent solution though). Any hints are appreciated!

  • Condor job using DAG with some jobs needing to run the same host

    I have a computation task which is split in several individual program executions, with dependencies. I'm using Condor 7 as task scheduler (with the Vanilla Universe, due do constraints on the programs beyond my reach, so no checkpointing is involved), so DAG looks like a natural solution. However some of the programs need to run on the same host. I could not find a reference on how to do this in the Condor manuals. Example DAG file: JOB A A.condor JOB B B.condor JOB C C.condor JOB D D.condor PARENT A CHILD B C PARENT B C CHILD D I need to express that B and D need to be run on the same computer node, without breaking the parallel execution of B and C.   • Getting text after URL in asp.net / URL Rewriting (sort of!)

    My app is a very simple "one page" type app- It has Default.aspx I'm basically trying to get, for example: www.myappurl.com/this is my text I want to get hold of "this is my text" from the above example. This will be displayed on the page (for now) I didn't really want to have to use any complext url rewriting things for this... (My hosting provider uses IIS6) I tried using a 404 handler, but this is a bit long winded, and i'm using shared hosting, that can't set the "execute url" on custom 404 pages. Any other ideas?

Unfortunately, I am having problems putting it all together. I don't have much experience with recursion and this is proving to be very difficult for me to build and debug.     Wordpress wraps images with captions in a div with a class of .wp-caption. I'm looking for a way to select images that don't have this div so I can wrap them in different div.     I always have trouble with complicated SQL queries. This is what I have $query = ' SELECT id, name, info, date_time FROM acms_events WHERE date_time = DATE_SUB(NOW(), INTERVAL 1 HOUR) AND active = 1 ORDER BY date_time ASC LIMIT 6 '; I want to get up to 6 rows that are upcoming within the hour. Is my query wrong? It does not seem to get events that are upcoming within the next hour when I test it. What is the correct syntax for this? Thanks

    I'm trying to do something like this: private class aClass { private ArrayList<String> idProd; aClass(ArrayList<String> prd) { this.idProd=new ArrayList<String>(prd); } public ArrayList<String> getIdProd() { return this.idProd; } } So if I have multiple instances of ArrayLIst<String> (st1 ,st2 ,st3) and I want to make new objects of aClass: { aClass obj1,obj2,obj3; obj1=new aClass(st1); obj2=new aClass(st2); obj3=new aClass(st3); } Will all of the aClass objects return st3 if I access the method getIdProd() for each of them(obj1..obj3)? Is an ArrayList as an instance variable automatically declared static?

  • Trying to get focus onto JTextPane after doubleclicking on JList element (Java)

However, after double clicking on the Jlist element, the text gets inserted, but the caret is not appearing on the JTextPane.     I have a page that is just a non interactive display for a shop window. Obviously, I don't link to it, and I'd also like to avoid people stumbling across it (by Google etc). It will always be powered by Chrome. I have thought of... Checking User Agent for Chrome Ensuring resolution is 1920 x 1080 (not that useful as it is a client side check) Banning under robots.txt to keep Google out of it Do you have any more suggestions?     I have a form input, and the label spans multiple lines, and I want the corresponding checkbox to appear at the bottom (last line of the label element). Is there any way to do this? I notice that div.input-container isn't expanding, which is the old multi column problem with CSS. I thought I could get this going with display: table-cell and vertical-align: bottom but I haven't been able to do it yet. I don't mind that IE6/7 won't render it correctly.
