• How to find item selected from customContextMenuRequested() on QTreeView item?

  I have implemented contextual menus in QTreeView items with the following code MyDerivedQTreeView->setModel(MyDerivedQAbstractItemModel); MyDerivedQTreeView->setContextMenuPolicy(Qt::CustomContextMenu); connect(MyDerivedQTreeView, SIGNAL(customContextMenuRequested(const QPoint &)), MyDerivedQAbstractItemModel(), SLOT(contextualMenu(const QPoint &))); void MyDerivedQAbstractItemModel::contextualMenu(const QPoint& point) { QMenu *menu = new QMenu; menu->addAction(QString("Test Item"), this, SLOT(test_slot())); menu->exec(MyDerivedQTreeView->mapToGlobal(point)); } MyDerivedQAbstractItemModel::contextualMenu() gets called and I can see the contextual menu. Problem is contextual menu should be visible only if user right-clicks on an item and it should be customized as per the item selected. How do I get whether/which item is selected from QPoint information? I am on Qt 4.5.3.

• Not able to pass multiple override parameters using nose-testconfig 0.6 plugin in nosetests

  Hi, I am able to override multiple config parameters using nose-testconfig plugin only if i pass the overriding parameters on commandline. e.g. nosetests -c nose.cfg -s --tc=jack.env1:asl --tc=server2.env2:abc But when I define the same thing inside nose.cfg, than only the value for last parameter is modified. e.g. tc = server2.env2:abc tc = jack.env1:asl I checked the plugin code. It looks fine to me. • Slow Speeds when unzipping with PHP onto a NFS, how can I speed it up?

  Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to boost my NFS speed and php uploads. File is uploaded to the webserver's local tmp dir With PHP I copy the file userxxx.zip to the NFS With PHP I extract the userxxx.zip on the NFS to another dir on the NFS. What I'm finding is the file is in Step 3, the file is being read through the NFS by the web server, processed by the web server, and uploaded back across the NFS. Speeds as expected are very slow. Might a possible solution be to get the Fileserver to extract the zip? a) Webserver copies the file to the NFS b) Webserver makes a web service call to the Fileserver c) Fileserver can now unzip the file like it's local and the speeds should be much faster. I would appreciate any suggestion anyone how people have approached this problem. (I'm aware that php ZipArchive() is very slow, and I'll likely use java or php exec unzip to speed it up) Thanks

• PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer vs Filters -- Spring Beans

  Hi there. I've got a question regarding the difference between PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer (org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer) and normal filters defined in my pom.xml. I've been looking at examples, and it seems that even though filters are defined and marked to be active by default in the pom.xml they still make use of PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer in Spring's applicationContext.xml. This means that the pom.xml has a reference to a filter-LOCAL.properties while applicationContext.xml has a reference to application.properties and they both contain the same settings. Why is that? Is that how it is supposed to be done? I'm able to run the goal mvn jetty:run without the application.properties present, but if I add settings to the application.properties that differ from the filter-LOCAL.properties they don't seem to override. I'm trying to get some information from video files and it works pretty fine with file formats like .avi, .mpg or .flv but when I try to use .3gp or .mp4 in: $movie = new ffmpeg_movie('path/to/file/test.3gp'); I get error like this : ffmpeg_movie::__construct() []: ISO: File Type Major Brand: 3gp5 or ffmpeg_movie::__construct() []: ISO: File Type Major Brand: mp42 I installed ffmpeg-php on WAMP using instructions found here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1172916/how-to-install-ffmpeg-in-wampserver-2-0-windows-xp I need those information to send them to ffmpeg using exec().   Hi, I have a stored procedure that returns a result with 250!!! columns. But I only need 3 out of the 250. I want to call the SP and put only the 3 column values in a temp table. I don't want to define a temp table with 250 columns! • Is the JavaScript RegExp implicit method deprecated?

  So everyone knows what I mean by "implicit methods"? They're like those default properties from the Windows COM days of yore, where you could type something like val = obj(arguments) and it would be interpreted as val = obj.defaultMethod(arguments) I just found out JavaScript has the same thing: the default method of a RegExp object appears to be 'exec', as in /(\w{4})/('yip jump man')[1] ==> jump This even works when the RegExp object is assigned to a variable, and even when it's created with the RegExp constructor, instead of /.../, which is good news to us fans of referential transparency. Where is this documented, and/or is it deprecated?

• Query through linked server is very slow

  I have 2 SQL 2005 servers SRV1 and SRV2. SRV2 is the linked server on SRV1. I run a storep proc with params on SRV2 and it is completed immediately. But when I run the same proc through the linked server on SRV1, for example EXEC [SRV1].DB_TEST.dbo.p_sample_proc it takes about 8-10 minutes to complete. After restarting SRV2 the problem is gone. But some time later it returns. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

  I'm trying to create a web application using maven, tomcat and hibernate. Now I'm getting a cannot find class for org.appache.commons.dbcp.basicdatasource for bean with name datasource... exception. Without the hibernate aspects it works fine, but if I add <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean"> <property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource"/> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle10gDialect</prop> <prop key="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto">create</prop> <prop key="hibernate.show_sql">true</prop> </props> </property> <property name="mappingResources"> <list> </list> </property> </bean> to my applicationContext then I get the error. What I did was: -add org.hibernate to my pom -put ojdbc16.jar in my tomcat bin folder -add the above snippet to my applicationContext.xml I use a bat file to compile my project (using maven), copy it to my tomcat webapp folder and to start the server. Any input on what I'm doing wrong is welcome.

• Does a PHP library exist to work with PRC/.mobi files?

  I'm writing a WordPress plugin to create an eBook from a selected category in most major eBook formats. I would like to support MobiPocket since that's the format used by the Kindle but I'm not sure how to go about it. From what I've read .mobi files are actually Palm Resource Databases (PRC) but I haven't been able to find a PHP class to work with these. I thought about using exec along with KindleGen but that would be undesirable as it would complicate initial setup. I've also thought about hosting a web service somewhere and using XML-RPC to accomplish this but that also complicates things. My question is: is there a PHP class/library (PHP-only preferred) that can work with PRC or even better, a class that specialises in creating MobiPocket ebooks? (needs to be open source since I'm releasing under the GPL) I've tried searching but haven't been able to find anything.

• How can I get PHP to compile a LaTeX document if it (www-data) can't get access to the required packages?

  I have a PHP script that compiles LaTeX documents with the use of: exec('cd /path/to/doc && /usr/bin/latexmk -pdf filename.tex'); This is working for some of my LaTeX documents but my latest document doesn't compile and a look at the log reveals: !pdfTeX error: pdflatex (file ecrm1000): Font ecrm1000 at 600 not found ==> Fatal error occurred, no output PDF file produced! Which I have found is the result of LaTeX not being able to see the required font packages. When I run the same compile command under my username the document compiles as it should. So my question is, how can I get PHP (executing as www-data) to get access to the necessary LaTeX packages? I have tried installing the required package under the www-data account using: sudo -u www-data sudo apt-get install texlive-fonts-recommended but it askes for www-data's password, which I don't believe was set by me and isn't anything I've thrown at it. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 if it's any help.

• JUnit test failing - complaining of missing data that was just inserted

  I have an extremely odd problem in my JUnit tests that I just can't seem to nail down. I have a multi-module java webapp project with a fairly standard structure (DAO's, service clasess, etc...). Within this project I have a 'core' project which contains some abstracted setup code which inserts a test user along with the necessary items for a user (in this case an 'enterprise', so a user must belong to an enterprise and this is enforced at the database level) Fairly simple so far... but here is where the strangeness begins some tests fail to run and throw a database exception where it complains that a user cannot be inserted because an enterprise does not exist. But it just created the enterprise in the preceding line of code! And there was no errors in the insertion of the enterprise. Stranger yet, if this test class is run by itself everything works fine. It is only when the test is run as part of the project that it fails! And the exact same abstracted code was run by 10+ tests before the one that fails! f I have been banging my head against a wall with this for days and haven't really made any progress. I'm not even sure what information to offer up to help diagnose this. Using JUnit 4.4, Spring 2.5.6, iBatis 2.3.0, Postgresql 8.3 Switching to org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DriverManagerDataSource from org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource changed the problem. Using DriverManagerDataSource the tests work for the first time, but now all of a sudden a lot of data isn't rolled back in the database! It leaves everything behind. All with no errors Tests fail when run via Eclipse & Maven Please ask for any info which may help me solve my problem!

  I was recently asked to fix something on a site which I haven't worked on before. I haven't really worked with jQuery that much, but I figured I'd take a look and see if I could fix it. I've managed to mostly clear up the problem, but I'm still horrified at the way they chose to build this site. On document load, they replace the click() method of every anchor tag and form element with the same massive function. When clicked, that function then checks if the tag has one of a few different attributes (non-standard attributes, even), and does a variety of different tasks depending on what attributes exist and what their values are. Some hyperlinks have an attribute on them called 'ajaxrel', which makes the click() function look for another (hidden) hyperlink with an ID specified by the ajaxrel attribute, and then calls the click() function for that other hyperlink (which was also modified by this same click() function). On the server side, all the php files are quite long and have absolutely no indentation. This whole site has been a nightmare to debug. Is this standard jQuery practice? This navigation scheme seems terrible. Does anyone else actually use jQuery this way? I'd like to start incorporating it into my projects, but looking at this site is giving me a serious headache. • How to check value of stored procedure output parameter

  I have a stored procedure that: A. inserts some rows into a "table variable" based on some joins B. selects all values from column x from that table into a string with comma separated values C. selects all from the "table variable" If I execute the procedure like this: EXEC CatalogGetFilmDetails2 2,111111; a table is returned as instructed per step C above. How can I execute it so that also the output parameter value is displayed? (see point B above). I need to check if it's calculated properly. And since the second parameter is of output type, meaning it's calculated inside the procedure, why is it mandatory to specify a value for it when executing the procedure? I normally use a random value for it, it anyway doesn't matter/impact the result. On the other hand if I try to execute it without the output parameter, it returns an error) Thank you very much!   I have a problem calling stored procedures with a fixed length binary parameter using Entity Framework. The stored procedure ends up being called with 8000 bytes of data no matter what size byte array I use to call the function import. To give some example, this is the code I am using. byte[] cookie = new byte[32]; byte[] data = new byte[2]; entities.Insert("param1", "param2", cookie, data); The parameters are nvarchar(50), nvarchar(50), binary(32), varbinary(2000) When I run the code through SQL profiler, I get this result. exec [dbo].[Insert] @param1=N'param1',@param2=N'param2',@cookie=0x00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 [SNIP because of 16000 zeros] ,@data=0x0000 All parameters went through ok other than the binary(32) cookie. The varbinary(2000) seemed to work fine and the correct length was maintained. Is there a way to prevent the extra data being sent to SQL server? This seems like a big waste of network resource.

  Hi, Can somebody tell me how to rename the DB server instance name and a DB name in MSSQL 2005? Right Now I Have SERVER/OLDNAME -- oldnameDB I want to change the server instance and also change the db name. I have tried: EXEC sp_renamedb 'oldName', 'newName' and that has changed the dbname as it appers in the tree directory. But, when I do "select @@servername" it is the old name. Also, the MDF and LDF files are still the old name. How do change instance and db names as a clean sweep across the server? Thanks.

• How can I export images from SQL Server to a file on disk?

  I have a User table that has all of their avatars saved in an image field. I'd like to just take that out of the database and store it as a regular file on disk. I looked around and saw some code for textcopy, but that doesn't seem to be on my machine for some reason. Here is the code I wrote up anyway. Anyone know a way to get this done?
