    Sorry if these are stupid questions but I couldn't find answers :( Is there any way to set the display name of the application which is shown on iPhone and on iTunes different? The name that I wrote to "Display bundle name" in info.plist is shown both on iTunes and iPhone, is there any way to separate them? My second question is: how can I change the genre of my application? Now it's "Unknown Genre".

  • Blocking a distributed, consistent spam attack? Could it be something more serious?

    I will do my best to try and explain this as it's strange and confusing to me. I posted a little while ago about a sustained spike in mysql queries on a VPS I had recently setup. It turned out to be a single post on a site I was developmenting. The post had over 30,000 spam comments! Since the site was one I was slowly building I hadn't configured the anti-spam comment software yet. I've since deleted the particular post which has given the server a break but the post's url keeps on getting hit. The frustrating thing is every hit is from a different IP. How do I even start to block/prevent this? Is this even something I need to worry about? Here are some more specific details about my setup, just to give some context: Ubuntu 8.10 server with ufw setup The site I'm building is in Drupal which now has Mollom setup for spam control. It wasn't configured before. The requests happen inconsistently. Sometimes it's every couple seconds and other times it's a an or so between hits. However it's been going on pretty much constantly like that for over a week.     I have multiple subdomains trying to use a single subdomain for authentiction using forms authentication all running on windows server 2008 r2. All of the forms authentication pages are setup to use the same name, and on the authentication page the cookie is added with the following snippet: FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(txtUserName.Text, false); System.Web.HttpCookie MyCookie = System.Web.Security.FormsAuthentication.GetAuthCookie(User.Identity.Name.ToString(), false); MyCookie.Domain = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["domainName"]; Response.AppendCookie(MyCookie); When I am logged in to signon.mysite.com the page.user.identity.isauthenticated and page.user.identity.name properties both work fine. When I navigate to subdomain.mysite.com the page.user.identity.isauthenticated returns true, bue the name is empty. I tried to retrieve it from the cookie using the following, but it also was blank. HttpCookie cookie = Request.Cookies[".ASPXAUTH"]; FormsAuthenticationTicket fat = FormsAuthentication.Decrypt(cookie.Value); user2_lbl.Text = fat.Name; When googling the issue I found some people saying something must be added to global.asax and other saying it wasn't necessary. The goal is to be able to login on the authentication subdomain and have the user identity accessible from the root site and other subdomains. Machine keys match in all web.config, and the AppSettings["domainName"] is set to "mysite.com" currently. Does anyone know what is preventing me from accessing the user information?

    Say I got a dedi. The IP is 123.123.123.123 Now I got domain name domainname.com that will be the "main" domain name for that server. Should I? Set the name server of the domainname.com to ns1.domainname.com and ns2.domainname.com Add child nameserver ns1.domainname.com and ns2.domainname.com to point to that exact IP. or Should I? Point the name server to my registrar name server. Set an A address of the name server to point to my IP. Which one is right? Obviously I want ns1.domainname.com and ns2.domainname.com to point to my IP so I can then point hundreds of domains to that IP. But how exactly I should do that? Specifically I simply use cpanel.     I have two areas: ControlPanel and Patients. Both have a controller called ProblemsController that are similar in name only. The desired results would be routes that yield /controlpanel/problems = MyApp.Areas.ControlPanel.Controllers.ProblemsController and /patients/problems = MyApp.Areas.Patients.Controllers.ProblemsController. Each has routes configured like this: public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "**Area Name Here**_default", "**Area Name Here**/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); } where **Area Name Here** is either ControlPanel or Patients. When I go to /patients/problems/create (for example), I get a 404 where the routing error says: A public action method 'create' was not found on controller 'MyApp.Areas.ControlPanel.Controllers.ProblemsController'. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

  • Why would only the cpu fan not spin and no video displayed?

    I just built a new computer and when I first powered it on I got a continuous beeping which according to the manual means a power failure. After moving the voltage switch to the left a little I was able to get the beeping to stop. Even after the stopping though the CPU fan doesn't spin, and there is no display on the monitor. All the other fans and lights come on in the computer though, the DVD drive is working and ejects the tray, and the hard drive sounds like it spins up. Has anyone seen this before and know what is wrong or what has failed?

    I know that domain names are constantly changing, and I know there are a lot of them, but there is clearly a region of the domain name space which is stable. How would I go about getting a list, even a very big one? Such a thing must logically exist, even if it is in a distributed form, because the web's DNS servers resolve names to IP addresses. So in theory if I could poll all the DNS servers in the world at a moment in time I would have the complete list of mapped names. Is there a practical way of doing that? As an aside, does anyone have any good estimates of how many domain names exist at the moment?

    Hi. I have a bunch of names in alphabetical order with multiple instances of the same name all in alphabetical order so that the names are all grouped together. Beside each name, after a coma, I have a role that has been assigned to them, one name-role pair per line, something like whats shown below name1,role1 name1,role2 name1,role3 name1,role8 name2,role8 name2,role2 name2,role4 name3,role1 name4,role5 name4,role1 ... .. . I am looking for an algorithm to take the above .csv file as input create an output .csv file in the following format name1,role1,role2,role3,role8 name2,role8,role2,role4 name3,role1 name4,role5,role1 ... .. . So basically I want each name to appear only once and then the roles to be printed in csv format next to the names for all names and roles in the input file. The algorithm should be language independent. I would appreciate it if it does NOT use OOP principles :-) I am a newbie.

However, when NHibernate persists the store, it first inserts the Bin records with a null StoreID before performing an update later to set the correct StoreID. This violates the Unique Key If I persist two stores with a Bin of the same name because The Name columns are the same and the StoreID is null for both. Is there something I can add to the mapping to ensure that the correct StoreID is included in the INSERT rather than performing an update later? We are using HiLo identity generation so we are not relying on DB generated identity columns Thanks James

    This might seem like a silly question but I want to get my terminology correct. Please do not delete. I will be more than happy to delete the question myself once I (with the help of a few people I hope) get to a consensus: This was my understanding: DNS root zone = . DNS root domain = (nameless) However, after reading the Wikipedia article, I'm not so sure: A domain name consists of one or more parts, technically called labels, that are conventionally concatenated, and delimited by dots, such as example.com. So this would lead me to believe: DNS root zone = . DNS root domain = . DNS root label = (nameless) Does this make sense? What is your understanding?
