• Searchengine bots and meta refresh for disabled Javascript

  Hi! I have a website that must have javascript turned on so it can work there is a < noscript tag that have a meta to redirect the user to a page that alerts him about the disabled javascript... I am wondering, is this a bad thing for search engine crawlers? Because I send an e-mail to myself when someone doesn't have js so I can analyze if its necessary to rebuild the website for these people, but its 100% js activated and the only ones that doesn't have JS are searchengines crawlers... I guess google, yahoo etc doesn't take the meta refresh seriously when inside a < noscript ? Should I do something to check if they are bots and do not redirect them with meta? Thanks, Joe

• getting firewatir to run on mac osx: jssh problems

  I am trying to get firewatir to run on Mac OSX Leopard. I have Firefox 3.6rc2 installed but running the most simple script does not work: require 'rubygems' require 'firewatir' ff=FireWatir::Firefox.new ff.goto("http://mail.yahoo.com") i am getting the following error /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/firewatir-1.6.5/lib/firewatir/firefox.rb:237:in `set_defaults': Unable to connect to machine : 127.0.0.1 on port 9997. Make sure that JSSh is properly installed and Firefox is running with '-jssh' option (Watir::Exception::UnableToStartJSShException) from /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/firewatir-1.6.5/lib/firewatir/firefox.rb:131:in `initialize' from ./watir-test.rb:12:in `new' from ./watir-test.rb:12 even when I am trying to start Firefox with the -jssh option, I get an error (although another one) /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -jssh the error output in that case: /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/firewatir-1.6.5/lib/firewatir/firefox.rb:125:in `initialize': Firefox is running without -jssh (RuntimeError) is there any tutorial or hnt to get firewatir actually running on Mac OSX?

  Hi.. Maybe not the correct place to post. But, I'm going to try anyway! I've got a couple of test python parsing scripts that I created. They work enough for me to test what I'm working on. However, I recently came across the python framework, Scrapy, which is used for web scraping. My app runs in a distributed process, across a testbed of multiple servers. I'm trying to understand scrapy, to see if it provides benefits over what I'm doing. So, if possible, I'd really like to talk with a few people who are grounded in/or who use scrapy.   I'm trying to figure out which property of BoxComponentEvent will tell me if the generated OnMouseWheel event was a scroll-up or scroll-down event. I have output the values of all the properties BoxComponentEvent exposes; and all of them (with the exception of the coordinates at which the event took place) stay the same regardless. • Storable Geocoding/reverse Geocoding services

  Im currently looking into an easy way to query and store Latitude/Longitude for a given address. There are a plentitude of services out there, but none actually allows me to store the data I retieve (i.e. Google Maps API TOS, Yahoo! Maps API TOS). As I wan't to use them for a distance search I can't really query the data on the fly. Are there any services that acutally allow to store the location you get for an adress? And I want to do it more or less worldwide. (As a side question, I might need the other way around soon, getting from latitude/longitude to an address or place name, but this falls under the same terms as the above).

• Microsoft Entrourage: rendering hyperlinks?

  When we send emails from my project, we send in both text/plain and text/html formats. All major clients (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, thunderbird, outlook) correctly display the simple HTML that we are using. However, Entourage renders all tags EXCEPT hyperlinks. What is confusing is that emails from other domains render hyperlinks correctly in Entourage. We have tried comparing the source / headers of our emails with others emails that seem to "work" and don't see any obvious differences. I googled around this issue and the only thing I could find what that Entourage doesn't allow users to insert hyperlinks when composing a message. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Given an .ics such as: http://www.hebcal.com/export/ba/8a35a5efbb27548bc0272b94b8de96.ics?subscribe=1&v=1&year=2010&month=x&nh=on&tag=fp.ql&c=off How would I go about using YQL to select certain events based on fields, etc. I've tried the standard formats, and the only format that seems to even parse the file is HTML - which puts it all in a <p>, and removes the line returns that give the file meaning. I've had some success with using Yahoo Pipe's Fetch Feed Source, but was wondering if it's possible to do this entirely in YQL. Any ideas?

Can you suggest me some feature of JointJS or any feature of CSS in general, which I could use to make my object immovable. I can't use interactive: false option on the paper or paper.$el.css('pointer-events', 'none'); because I need to have highlighting features when mouse hovers over the element. Please suggest a way that disables movement of elements while allowing other features.

• I want to port my delicious bookmarks to my website

  I started building a app that will automatically download my delicious bookmarks, and save to a database, so they I can view them on my own website in my favoured format. I am forced to use oAuth, as I have a yahoo id to login to delicious. The problem is I am stuck at the point where oAuth requires a user to manually go and authenticate. Is there a code/ guidelines available anywhere I can follow? All I want is a way to automatically save my bookmarks to my database. Any help is appreciated. I can work on java, .net and php. Thanks.

• 2 questions about drag and drop with Javascript

  Hello, I'm trying to be able to drag random highlighted text or images on a random page that is not written by me, thus I cannot simply wrap the text in a div and make it draggable. Is there any way to get highlighted text or images on a random page, like say Yahoo, and drop it into a container that can recognize what was being dropped into it (like content and content-type) without it even being an explicitly declared draggable? I've been playing with jQuery, but can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, David

In one of my form i have use rich text editor from the yahoo. now i want to store the data from that text area to mysql database. bcz user can enter anything in that textarea. as example user can enter many double quotes, or single quotes. so i need to store that data which may content many double quotes or many single quotes, so how to do that? normally we store by adding that data in one variable and then put that in sql then fire. but now variable contents many quotes and now i have problem to store. i can't remove that quotes bcz of my style which is generated by rich text editor. So how can store that data without affecting my styles of data.

  I have to implement a one linked list but it should put object in appropriate position. Everything was OK when I use it in conjunction with specific class, but when I tried make it universal and argument of method insert was Object some problem appeared. When I want to input Object in right position I should use CompareTo method, but there isn't method in Object class! The problem is how to compare two object elements without known about their real types. Maybe I should use generic class type? But what about CompareTo? Or maybe combine with Element class and place CompareTo there? • using Excel VBA, given the daily price of 50 stocks, choose 10 stocks such that they have the minumu

  The high-level goal is to choose 10 stocks that have the lowest correlation among one another, out of a pool of 50, so that I can have a well-diversified portfolio. I have managed to write some VBA macro to download the past 3 years of daily price data from Yahoo finance, and then compute the 50x50 correlation matrix (using the Correl function), using the daily close as the data. What I have tried so far is just some local-maximum heuristic: - For the two stocks that have the highest correlation with each other, remove one of them. Between the two, remove the one that has the higher average correlation with all the other stocks. - When I remove a stock from the pool, I just delete the correponding row and column, to give a smaller matrix. - Repeat until I have just 10 stocks remaining (a 10x10 matrix). I was wondering if there is some algorithm that already solves such a problem and gives the optimum solution?

• Wrapping variable width text in emacs lisp

  I am hacking up a tagging application for emacs. I have got a tag cloud/weighted list successfully displaying on a buffer, but i am running into a snag. I need to be able to properly word-wrap the buffer, but I haven't a clue where to start. The font I am using is a variable width font. On top of that, each tag is going to be in a different size, depending on how many times it shows up on the buffer. Finally, the window that displays the tagcloud could be in a window that is 200 pixels wide, or the full screen width. I really have no idea where to start. • Navigate to the Same Page After Action in JSF 2

  I have a component done in JSF 1.x, this component has a command button as follows <h:commandButton ... action="#{templateController.next}" /> Where templateController was passed as an EL binding and can be any object that implements a certain interface. The generic implementation of next() was just executing code and then returning an empty string causing the same page to refresh: public String next() { ..... return ""; } Now I am trying to port that component to JSF 2, my problem is that an empty string doesn't cause the same page to refresh anymore, instead, the framework tries to redirect to a page called ".jsf" i.e it just appends .jsf to whatever the outcome is. My question is how to return an outcome that causes the current page to refresh. My component is generic and I don't know before hand the name of the page it is going to be used on. Thanks

  I'm loading an external script (that creates a new window component) into a panel, which works fine. Now, I want to access the created window from a callback function to register a closed event handler. I've tried the following: panel.load({ scripts: true, url: '/createWindow', callback: function(el, success, response, options) { panel.findByType("window")[0].on("close", function { alert("Closed"); }); } }); However, the panel seems to be empty all the time, the findByType method keeps returning an empty collection. I've tried adding events handlers for events like added to the panel but none of them got fired. So the question is: how do I access the window in the panel to register my close event handler on it?

  My google Docs Spreadsheet call returns this response in the json format (I only need everything after "rows") please look at the formatted response here : ) I use php's json_decode function to parse the data and use it (Yes, I am awful at php) This code returns NULL, and according to the documentation, NULL is returned "if the json cannot be decoded". $json = file_get_contents($jsonurl); $json_output = json_decode($json); var_dump ($json_output); // Returns NULL Basically, what i want to accomplish is to make a simple array from the first row values of the Json response. like this $array = {'john','John Handcock','[email protected]','2929292','blanc'} You guys are genius, I would appreciate your insight and help on this very much! Answer as "sberry2A" mentions bellow, the response is not valid Json, google offers the Zend Json library for this purpose, tho I decided to parse the tsv-excel version instead :)

• Ilmerge causing dll's to open during build

  I am using ILMerge as a post build event to combine some dll's into a single dll. It is working and combining the dll's but have this weird issue. As the project builds, the dll's are opened (only external dll's, not project dll's)! And the build wont only progress when I close the application that opens the dll, in this case I have set reflector as the default application for opening dll's. • Caching videos but of 0 Size

Whats the problem please help me i am atlost!! the help at cachevideo.com is not working because their security captcha cant be displayed and thus i am unable to contact anywhere!! • Emacs: annoying Flymake dialog box.

  Hello I have the following lines in my ~/.emacs.d/init.el (custom-set-variables '(flymake-allowed-file-name-masks (quote ( ("\\.cc\\'" flymake-simple-make-init) ("\\.cpp\\'" flymake-simple-make-init))))) (add-hook 'find-file-hook 'flymake-find-file-hook) When I open a cc/cpp file that has a Makefile with the following content in the same folder I get proper on-the-fly compilation and error reporting (Flymake will check the syntax and report errors and warnings during code editing) .PHONY: check-syntax check-syntax: $(CXX) -Wall -Wextra -pedantic -fsyntax-only $(CHK_SOURCES) The problem is that when I open a .cc file that has no corresponding Makefile i get an annoying dialog box that warns me about flymake being disabled for every file opened. Is there some hook I can use to disable that warning? Can you provide sample elisp code and explanation on how you found the proper hook?
