  • Make isolinux 4.0.3 chainload itself in VMWare

    I have a bootable iso which boots into isolinux 4.0.3 and I want to make it chainload itself (my actual goal is to chainload isolinux.bin v4.0.1-debian, which should start up the Ubuntu10.10 Live CD, but for now I just want to make it chainload itself). I can't get isolinux to chainload any isolinux.bin, no matter what version. It either freezes or shows a "checksum error" message. I'm using VMWare to test the iso. Things I have tried: .com32 /boot/isolinux/chain.c32 /boot/isolinux/isolinux-debug.bin (chainload self) this shows Loading the boot file... Booting... ISOLINUX 4.03 2010-10-22 Copyright (C) 1994-2010 H.   • Apache2 Segmentation fault with wsgi_module

    Apache 2.2.3 is running as an existing web server under RHEL 5. Attempting to set up Trac using wsgi_module. RHEL 5 ships with python 2.4, so in order to use the current version of Trac (1.0) I needed to install it with easy_install-2.6. Trac works with the default mod_python, however users strongly encourage not using this module as it is officially dead. Using RHEL's package manager, I downloaded/installed python26-mod_wsgi.so. I backed up the httpd.conf, then made the following additions: LoadModule wsgi_module modules/python26-mod_wsgi.so #...# WSGIScriptAlias /trac /www/virtualhosts/trac/deploy/cgi-bin/trac.wsgi <Directory /www/virtualhosts/trac/deploy/cgi-bin> WSGIApplicationGroup %{GLOBAL} Order deny,allow Allow from all </Directory> Next I moved trac.conf to trac.conf.bak (contains mod_python calls). I tested the configuration using: apachectl configtest Syntax is OK. So I reloaded the server config using: service httpd reload At this time, all virtualhosted sites stopped responding. I restored my backup copy of httpd.conf, reloaded the server config, and the virtualhosted sites are being served again.   • mod_cache not working

    I have a PHP site that has many dynamically generated pages. I'm trying to turn to mod_cache to help boost performance, because in most cases, content does not change in a given day. I have configured mod_cache as best I could, following examples around the web, including the mod_cache page on apache.org. When I set LogLevel debug, I see a bit of information about the caching that is [not] happening. There are plenty of pairs of lines like this: [Fri Jun 01 17:28:18 2012] [debug] mod_cache.c(141): Adding CACHE_SAVE filter for /foo/bar [Fri Jun 01 17:28:18 2012] [debug] mod_cache.c(148): Adding CACHE_REMOVE_URL filter for /foo/bar Which is fine, because I've set CacheEnable disk /foo, to indicate that I want everything under /foo cached. I'm new to mod_cache, but my understanding about these lines is that it just means that mod_cache has acknowledged that the URL is supposed to be cached, but there are supposed to be more lines indicating that it is saving the data to cache, and then later retrieving them on subsequent hits to the same URL. I can hit the same URL till I'm blue in the face, whether with F5 refreshing, or not, or with different browsers, or different computers. It's always that pair of lines that shows in the logs, and nothing else. When I set CacheEnable disk /, then I see more activity. But I don't want to cache the entire site, and there are many, many different subpaths to the site, so I don't want to have to modify code to set no-cache headers in all the necessary places. I'll mention that mod_rewrite is in use here, rewriting /foo/bar to something like index.php?baz=/foo/bar, but my understanding is that mod_cache uses the pre-rewrite URL, not the post-rewrite URL. As far as I can tell, I have the response headers not getting in the way of caching.   • Why won't my service start, and why doesn't upstart output any errors?

    I am trying to 'start gunicorn' as a service via upstart as user ale. I'm using gunicorn/flask on ubuntu 12.04 w/ init (upstart 1.5) Here is my /etc/init/gunicorn.conf setuid btw setgid flask script export HOME=/home/btw export WORKON_HOME=$HOME/.virtualenvs . $HOME/.virtualenvs/default/bin/activate cd $HOME/flask workon default gunicorn -c gunicorn.py bw:app end script It doesn't output anything other than gunicorn start/running, process 12992. If i then do 'status gunicorn' I get stop/waiting. any ideas on how to debug this? I tried following http://upstart.ubuntu.com/wiki/Debugging but it didn't help. If I do the following as user ale in the app's directory: 1. workon default 2. gunicorn -c gunicorn.py bw:app then Gunicorn runs fine. Here is ~/flask/gunicorn.py: bind = "0.0.0.0:8080" workers = 3 backlog = 2048 worker_class = "gevent" debug = True daemon = False pidfile ="/tmp/gunicorn.pid" log_level = "debug" accesslog = "/var/log/gunicorn/access.log" errorlog = "/var/log/gunicorn/error.log" user = "btw" group = "flask" Also, /var/log/error.log doesn't show anything new when I try to start the Gunicorn service. If I start it manually, it shows that the workers have been loaded, etc. Thanks for any help / suggestions!

  • Debugging apache seg fault with gdb

    Apache on a production server of mine is seg faulting intermittently. I have enabled core dump option in apache configuration and have several dumped core files. Unfortunately, since it is a production server, apache or the loaded modules are not compiled with debug symbols. From what I understand, gdb cannot do much without debug symbols. Can I at least find out which module is causing the seg fault, without debug symbols? If so, how?   • Wordpress on Apache is redirecting all https to http

    I have a problem with a wordpress site on a server I admin. I don't know anything about wordpress however. My problem is that we want the site to be accessed over https, bot somehow all requests to https:// URLs are answered by the server with a 302, redirecting to http. The wordpress site itself is configured to use https, and we see that in the pages that are generated the links are all https links. In the apache config there are no rewrite rules and no redirects. However, any request to a https:// URL is answered with a redirect to the equivalent http URL. And I really would like to know where these redirects are coming from, what is generating these redirects. I've increased the loglevel on the webserver to DEBUG, but did not get any info there. I tried to enable debug logging in wordpress per the recipy I found here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress But did not get a debug.log file in the directory where one should appear. I'm really at a loss here, and need to fix this urgently. Any hints as where to start looking? Apache is 2.2.14 on Ubuntu. There are several other virtual hosts on this server, using php and https without any problem... Edit: I created a small info.php script and dropped that in the webservers' root. Calling this yields the output of the script, no redirect is generated. This suggest that it's not the webserver, but wordpress that is doing it. A second thing I noticed is that the redirect comes with several cookies, one of which has "httponly" set. Could that be it?

    I am trying to register an interceptor using a annotation-driven controller configuration. As far as I can tell, I've done everything correctly but when I try testing the interceptor nothing happens.   • Three20 JSON problem: Can deploy to simulator but not device (extThree20JSON)

    Everything builds and runs in the simulator fine ... but when I attempt to run on device I get: "arm-apple-darwin10-gcc-4.2.1: ..../three20/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/libextThree20JSON+YAJL.a: No such file or directory" I check that directory and indeed the file doesn't exist. It does exist in the "Debug-iphoneosimulator" though (which I guess explains why it works in the simulator). So what gives and what can I do to correct this? Thanks

    I am attempting to set up NCover for usage in my FinalBuilder project, for a .NET 4.0 C# project, but my final coverage output file contains no coverage data. I am using: NCover 3.3.2 NUnit 2.5.4 FinalBuilder 6.3.0.2004 All tools are the latest official as of today. I've finally managed to coax FB into running my unit tests under NCover for the .NET 4.0 project, so I get Tests run: 184, ..., which is correct. I am also using TestDriven, and if I right-click the solution file and select "Test with NCover", NCover-explorer opens up with coverage data, and if I ask it to show me the folder with coverage files, in there is an .xml file with the same structure as the one above, just with all the data that should be there, so the tools I have is certainly capable of producing it. I want to be able to write descriptive log calls at the top and bottom of a function. like this log.debug("TheClass.TheMethod(string TheStringParam ="+TheStringParam+") - in"); log.debug("TheClass.TheMethod(string TheStringParam ="+TheStringParam+") - out"); Is there an adin that does this? Is there source anywhere for an add in like Ghost Doc that does reflection(or whatever) to parse the parameters and such?

  • Can't start gdb.exe in Qt Creator

    I have a project in Qt Creator that builds fine, but when I try to debug it I get this message: Adapter start failed Unable to start gdb 'C:\Qt\2010.02.1\mingw\bin\gdb.exe': Process failed to start: The directory name is invalid If I navigate to the debug build folder and directly run my compiled application, it will run fine, but obviously there's no debugging support. Additionally, gdb.exe is present at C:\Qt\2010.02.1\mingw\bin\gdb.exe, but Qt Creator can't seem to run it. How can I fix this problem?

    How on earth do people debug Django templatetags? I created one, based on a working example, my new tag looks the same to me as the existing one. But I just get a 'my_lib' is not a valid tag library: Could not load template library from django.templatetags.my_lib, No module named my_lib I know that this is probably because of something failing when defining the lib. But how do I see what's going on? What do you use to debug this situation?

  • ClickOnce in Release mode doesn't publish

    Just doing some testing/prototyping with ClickOnce. Does anyone know why I can publish with CLickOnce when its set to 'debug' mode but not when its set to 'release' mode? I dont even get an error message for the latter. The output folder remains empty as nothing has happened. Once I switch to Debug mode and do the publishing everything is fine. Any idea? Thanks
