    We are writing a complex rich desktop application and need to offer flexibility in reporting formats so we thought we would just expose our object model to a scripting langauge. Time was when that meant VBA (which is still an option), but the managed code derivative VSTA (I think) seems to have withered on the vine. What is now the best choice for an embedded scripting language on Windows .NET?

    With SQL Server, I can execute code ad hoc T-SQL code with full procedural logic through SQL Server Management Studio, or any other client. I've begun working with PostgreSQL and have run into a bit of a difference in that PGSQL requires any logic to be embedded in a function. Is there a way to execute PL/PGSQL code without creating an executing a function?

  • Extract wav file from video file

    I am developing an application in which I need to extract the audio from a video. The audio needs to be extracted in .wav format but I do not have a problem with the video format. Any format will do, as long as I can extract the audio in a wav file. Currently I am using Windows Media Player COM control in a windows form to play the videos, but any other embedded player will do as well. Any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks

    I am unable to get Axis2 to work on my NetBeans 6.5. I have everything that written here http://netbeans.org/kb/61/websvc/gs-axis.html I am using embedded tomcat of Netbeans. So the problem I am getting is that I can see tomcat welcome page at http://localhost:8084/ but at http://localhost:8084/axis2/ I am getting HTTP Status 404.

Why do I need this: I have a load balancer with "sticky sessions", configured to route requests with the same JSESSIONID to the same server, and I want to prevent situation, when same user can start two different sessions on different servers.

I want to run scripts from the Linux or Mac OS X command line, much like we run any other scripting language (ruby, php, perl, python...) $ javascript my_javascript_code.js I looked into spider monkey (Mozilla) and v8 (Google), but both of these appear to be embedded. Is anyone using Javascript as a scripting language to be executed from the command line? If anyone is curious why I am looking into this, I've been poking around node.js

    Hello I have Motorola MC55 with Windows Mobile 6.5 on-board. This nice palm contains also an embedded bar-code scanner. My question is - Will I need anything special in .NET CF in order to use the bar-code scanner? I would expect that the bar-code are read as normal strings and delivered as keyboard events?   • What is the command line syntax to embed MPlayer in an app window in OS X?

    I know the window ID, and I'm trying stuff like: mplayer -ontop -slave -quiet -wid 471165040 /t.mov mplayer -ontop -slave -quiet --window=471165040 /t.mov but nothing is working. (I know the window ID is correct) Otherwise, mplayer CLI is working great in its own window, just can't get it to play embedded. Can anyone point me to a syntax example of embedding mplayer in an app in OS X? thanks!

    I am using maven to generate a website for a Java project, which uses APT "Almost Plain Text" as a wiki like markup. Maven takes this and turns it into XHTML. I already have a custom template/skin that I am using for the site, but the index page will have a couple of extra custom design elements that are beyond the capabilities of APT.     I have been able to create the actionscript required to use seekToNavCuePoint with a locally hosted flv with embedded cuepoints. Once I switch to having it on our RTMP server the cuepoints are not available it seems. Lots of googleing has me coming up short. This is using the FLVPlayback component and ActionScript 3.

Is there a codec engine that can be embedded with the app itself that can play .ogg instead of .mp3? In general, what would be a better format than mp3 for streaming audio and that is supported by Flash?

Now the opposite is quite simple as you only need to call parent.functionName() but unfortunately I need exactly the opposite of that.   • The iPhone “phone” doesn’t have the provisioning profile with which the application was signed.

    i have tried everything to fix this provision problem and nothing is working. ive reformated my mac, reinstalled the iphone, ive also dragged the provisions (developer and distribution) onto the organizer, itunes, and xcode. in itunes people say to drag the provisions to the iphone icon but that doesnt work its only able to go under library it shows a blue rectangle for me to drop it there. i just have a newly created dummy app with a 57x57 icon. ive also setup the project with the distribution thing with its distribution provision. when i build i get this: The iPhone “myphone” doesn’t have the provisioning profile with which the application was signed. Click “Install and Run” to install the provisioning profile “distribution” on “myphone” and continue running “helloworld.app”. and it has a button "install and run" ive clicked on that hundreths of times and nothing. in orgranizer i see a tab called console ive cleared it and rebuild the app and there is some output that i dont understand. I'm thinking its my problem whats it mean?     Hi, We are working on a Windows Mobile 6.5 application. The application is already installed in some devices, and we need to distribute a new version with changes in the database schema (we added a few tables). Is there a way to make a "patch" windows mobile installer that will replace the application and update the embedded SQL database with some scripts? In a normal windows installer we would create a custom action in the installation process to apply the changes in the database, but I'm not sure how to do that for Windows Mobile Thanks.

  • iPhone error while importing .app into iTunes

    Hi guys, My application tester has a problem while importing .mobileprovision file into iTunes. As I don't have the device I'm not able to check things out, here is the error message: The provisioning profile "embedded.mobileprovision" could not be imported because an unknown error occurred (0xE800801A).
