  • Should I Use GUID or IDENTITY as Thread Number?

    - by user311509
    offerID is the thread # which represents the thread posted. I see in forums posts are represented by random numbers. Is this achieved by IDENTITY? If not, please advice. nvarchar(max) will carry all kind of texts along with HTML tags. CREATE TABLE Offer ( offerID int IDENTITY (4382,15) PRIMARY KEY, memberID int NOT NULL REFERENCES Member(memberID), title nvarchar(200) NOT NULL, thread nvarchar(max) NOT NULL, . . . );

  • Is there a ways to make google store coordinates in the android map?

    - by Pavel
Hi. I'm in the middle of developing android app using google map. My question is - how to store coordinates with google map and display them later on? I know how to use canvas, how to draw it etc. but I want to store those coordinates with google map - just like with the google maps feature on internet. When I log in I can see points I've put on the map straight away. Can someone please tell me how to do that? There must be a way. Any answers greatly appreciated!

  • The standard map/associative-array structure to use in flash actionscript 3?

    - by tstyle
I'm relatively new to flash, and is confused about what I should use to store and retrieve key value pairs. After some googling I've found various map-like things to choose from: 1) Use a Object: var map:Object = new Object(); map["key"] = "value"; The problem is that it seems to lack some very basic features. For example to even get the size of map I'd have to write a util method. 2) Use a Dictionary What does this standard library class provide over the simple object? It seems silly for it to exist if it's functionally identical to Object. 3) Go download some custom HashMap/HashTable implementation from the web. I've used a lot of modern languages, and this is the first time I haven't been able to find a library implementation of an associative array within 5 minutes. So I'd like to get some best-practice advice from an experienced flash developer. Thanks!

  • Ruby On Rails Routes

    - by Kezzer
I can't figure out how to get the following routes. Here's an extract from my routes.rb file: map.resources :treatments map.root :controller => "home" map.connect ':controller/:action/:id' map.connect ':controller/:action/:id.:format' map.connect ':action', :controller => 'home' # replaces the need to manually map pure actions to a default controller map.resources :bookings map.resource :dashboard map.resource :home Now I do realise that the ordering matters, but I can't seem to get them to work correctly. What I want is so http://localhost:3000/bookings/new actually takes you to an action http://localhost:3000/bookings/signmeup if you're either not signed in, or haven't got a login. The problem is that if I change my routes around, when I attempt to create a new booking after I have logged in, then it doesn't POST the form submission and just takes me back to the view page. This is definitely because of the routes as if I rearrange map.resources :bookings to be before all of them, then it works. Any ideas?

  • Insert into ... Select *, how to ignore identity?

    - by Haoest
I have a temp table with the exact structure of a concrete table T. It was created like this: select top 0 * into #tmp from T After processing and filling in content into #tmp, I want to copy the content back to T like this: insert into T select * from #tmp This is okay as long as T doesn't have identity column, but in my case it does. Is there anyways I can ignore the auto-increment identity column from #tmp when I copy to T? My motivation is to avoid having to spell out every column name in the Insert Into list. EDIT: toggling identity_insert wouldn't work because the pkeys in #tmp may collide with those in T if rows were inserted into T outside of my script, that's if #tmp has auto-incremented the pkey to sync with T's in the first place.

  • What is a good format for a 3d topview map?

    - by Tinco
I am building a 3d topview game like GTA2. In this game the ground is mostly one level (except for tunnels and highways). Most of the ground is also city so the ground is usually covered by either roads or buildings. The buildings are simple 3d models which the player can walk around on. Most of the gameplay is 2d. How should I model the map? I have considered the following options: Bitmaps, I think this gives problems when I want to add data smaller than a tile. Also the problem of bridges and tunnels seems hard to solve with this. Polygons, define all roads, terrain types, buildings with polygons and save that along with physics and texture information. What approach would you take or have you ever implemented this or know of an implementation?

  • Is it a bad idea to run an asp.net app pool with the same identity as IIS's anon user?

    - by Andrew Bullock
Subject says it all really, Thinking on security terms, I want to give each site on my server its own user account, so that they can't access each other's data. I also want to use integrated authentication for sql so i dont have any passwords knocking about in connection strings. Is it a bad idea to use the same account for the app pool identity and the anon user account for iis (im interested in answers for both v6 and 7)? Edit: ive seen this post describing how IIS7 allows you to automatically use the same account, but the question of whether its a good idea or not remains ;) If so, why? Thanks

  • SUBST for OSX? Error when trying to map local folder as network drive on Mac OSX 10.9

    - by Taylor Wright
I would like to map a local folder as a drive (similar to Window's SUBST). One solution I found was to map a shared folder, but I get the following error when using a local folder: There was a problem connecting to the server “MyDrive.local”. This file server is available on your computer. Access the volumes and files locally. I was using this guide: Mapping Drives (Shared Folders) on Mac OS X

  • How can I create a heat map based on data from Google Analytics?

    - by tnorthcutt
How would one go about creating a heat map (say, of the US) based on location data from Google Analytics? I'd like to somehow create such a map with the visitor data from several websites that use Google Analytics. I'm not really looking for a step-by-step tutorial, just some suggestions on how to start. Assume little to no programming experience, but a willingness to learn and hack together stuff to make it work.

  • How Can I Map IIS on My PC with Static IP to my Domain Name?

    - by Subhen
Hi, Now I have got an internet connection with Static Ip. I want to know How can I map my website to my Static IP(Received from ISP). I know this is not a good Idea for Security and Performance issues, But just Wanted to know as I can set up a test Project. Again, Can't I just by a domain name and map it to my Static Ip, instead of buying them from WebHosting Providers. Now I have bought the space from bizzhost and hosted my site by setting the Name Server. Thanks, Subhen

  • Fake ISAPI Handler to serve static files with extention that are rewritted by url rewriter

    - by developerit
Introduction I often map html extention to the asp.net dll in order to use url rewritter with .html extentions. Recently, in the new version of www.nouvelair.ca, we renamed all urls to end with .html. This works great, but failed when we used FCK Editor. Static html files would not get serve because we mapped the html extension to the .NET Framework. We can we do to to use .html extension with our rewritter but still want to use IIS behavior with static html files. Analysis I thought that this could be resolve with a simple HTTP handler. We would map urls of static files in our rewriter to this handler that would read the static file and serve it, just as IIS would do. Implementation This is how I coded the class. Note that this may not be bullet proof. I only tested it once and I am sure that the logic behind IIS is more complicated that this. If you find errors or think of possible improvements, let me know. Imports System.Web Imports System.Web.Services ' Author: Nicolas Brassard ' For: Solutions Nitriques inc. http://www.nitriques.com ' Date Created: April 18, 2009 ' Last Modified: April 18, 2009 ' License: CPOL (http://www.codeproject.com/info/cpol10.aspx) ' Files: ISAPIDotNetHandler.ashx ' ISAPIDotNetHandler.ashx.vb ' Class: ISAPIDotNetHandler ' Description: Fake ISAPI handler to serve static files. ' Usefull when you want to serve static file that has a rewrited extention. ' Example: It often map html extention to the asp.net dll in order to use url rewritter with .html. ' If you want to still serve static html file, add a rewritter rule to redirect html files to this handler Public Class ISAPIDotNetHandler Implements System.Web.IHttpHandler Sub ProcessRequest(ByVal context As HttpContext) Implements IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest ' Since we are doing the job IIS normally does with html files, ' we set the content type to match html. ' You may want to customize this with your own logic, if you want to serve ' txt or xml or any other text file context.Response.ContentType = "text/html" ' We begin a try here. Any error that occurs will result in a 404 Page Not Found error. ' We replicate the behavior of IIS when it doesn't find the correspoding file. Try ' Declare a local variable containing the value of the query string Dim uri As String = context.Request("fileUri") ' If the value in the query string is null, ' throw an error to generate a 404 If String.IsNullOrEmpty(uri) Then Throw New ApplicationException("No fileUri") End If ' If the value in the query string doesn't end with .html, then block the acces ' This is a HUGE security hole since it could permit full read access to .aspx, .config, etc. If Not uri.ToLower.EndsWith(".html") Then ' throw an error to generate a 404 Throw New ApplicationException("Extention not allowed") End If ' Map the file on the server. ' If the file doesn't exists on the server, it will throw an exception and generate a 404. Dim fullPath As String = context.Server.MapPath(uri) ' Read the actual file Dim stream As IO.StreamReader = FileIO.FileSystem.OpenTextFileReader(fullPath) ' Write the file into the response context.Response.Output.Write(stream.ReadToEnd) ' Close and Dipose the stream stream.Close() stream.Dispose() stream = Nothing Catch ex As Exception ' Set the Status Code of the response context.Response.StatusCode = 404 'Page not found ' For testing and bebugging only ! This may cause a security leak ' context.Response.Output.Write(ex.Message) Finally ' In all cases, flush and end the response context.Response.Flush() context.Response.End() End Try End Sub ' Automaticly generated by Visual Studio ReadOnly Property IsReusable() As Boolean Implements IHttpHandler.IsReusable Get Return False End Get End Property End Class Conclusion As you see, with our static files map to this handler using query string (ex.: /ISAPIDotNetHandler.ashx?fileUri=index.html) you will have the same behavior as if you ask for the uri /index.html. Finally, test this only in IIS with the html extension map to aspnet_isapi.dll. Url rewritting will work in Casini (Internal Web Server shipped with Visual Studio) but it’s not the same as with IIS since EVERY request is handle by .NET. Versions First release

  • Big Data – Buzz Words: What is MapReduce – Day 7 of 21

    - by Pinal Dave
In yesterday’s blog post we learned what is Hadoop. In this article we will take a quick look at one of the four most important buzz words which goes around Big Data – MapReduce. What is MapReduce? MapReduce was designed by Google as a programming model for processing large data sets with a parallel, distributed algorithm on a cluster. Though, MapReduce was originally Google proprietary technology, it has been quite a generalized term in the recent time. MapReduce comprises a Map() and Reduce() procedures. Procedure Map() performance filtering and sorting operation on data where as procedure Reduce() performs a summary operation of the data. This model is based on modified concepts of the map and reduce functions commonly available in functional programing. The library where procedure Map() and Reduce() belongs is written in many different languages. The most popular free implementation of MapReduce is Apache Hadoop which we will explore tomorrow. Advantages of MapReduce Procedures The MapReduce Framework usually contains distributed servers and it runs various tasks in parallel to each other. There are various components which manages the communications between various nodes of the data and provides the high availability and fault tolerance. Programs written in MapReduce functional styles are automatically parallelized and executed on commodity machines. The MapReduce Framework takes care of the details of partitioning the data and executing the processes on distributed server on run time. During this process if there is any disaster the framework provides high availability and other available modes take care of the responsibility of the failed node. As you can clearly see more this entire MapReduce Frameworks provides much more than just Map() and Reduce() procedures; it provides scalability and fault tolerance as well. A typical implementation of the MapReduce Framework processes many petabytes of data and thousands of the processing machines. How do MapReduce Framework Works? A typical MapReduce Framework contains petabytes of the data and thousands of the nodes. Here is the basic explanation of the MapReduce Procedures which uses this massive commodity of the servers. Map() Procedure There is always a master node in this infrastructure which takes an input. Right after taking input master node divides it into smaller sub-inputs or sub-problems. These sub-problems are distributed to worker nodes. A worker node later processes them and does necessary analysis. Once the worker node completes the process with this sub-problem it returns it back to master node. Reduce() Procedure All the worker nodes return the answer to the sub-problem assigned to them to master node. The master node collects the answer and once again aggregate that in the form of the answer to the original big problem which was assigned master node. The MapReduce Framework does the above Map () and Reduce () procedure in the parallel and independent to each other. All the Map() procedures can run parallel to each other and once each worker node had completed their task they can send it back to master code to compile it with a single answer. This particular procedure can be very effective when it is implemented on a very large amount of data (Big Data). The MapReduce Framework has five different steps: Preparing Map() Input Executing User Provided Map() Code Shuffle Map Output to Reduce Processor Executing User Provided Reduce Code Producing the Final Output Here is the Dataflow of MapReduce Framework: Input Reader Map Function Partition Function Compare Function Reduce Function Output Writer In a future blog post of this 31 day series we will explore various components of MapReduce in Detail. MapReduce in a Single Statement MapReduce is equivalent to SELECT and GROUP BY of a relational database for a very large database. Tomorrow In tomorrow’s blog post we will discuss Buzz Word – HDFS. • WIF-less claim extraction from ACS: JWT

    - by Elton Stoneman
ACS support for JWT still shows as "beta", but it meets the spec and it works nicely, so it's becoming the preferred option as SWT is losing favour. (Note that currently ACS doesn’t support JWT encryption, if you want encrypted tokens you need to go SAML). In my last post I covered pulling claims from an ACS token without WIF, using the SWT format. The JWT format is a little more complex, but you can still inspect claims just with string manipulation. The incoming token from ACS is still presented in the BinarySecurityToken element of the XML payload, with a TokenType of urn:ietf:params:oauth:token-type:jwt: <t:RequestSecurityTokenResponse xmlns:t="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/02/trust">   <t:Lifetime>     <wsu:Created xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd">2012-08-31T07:39:55.337Z</wsu:Created>     <wsu:Expires xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd">2012-08-31T09:19:55.337Z</wsu:Expires>   </t:Lifetime>   <wsp:AppliesTo xmlns:wsp="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/09/policy">     <EndpointReference xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing">       <Address>http://localhost/x.y.z</Address>     </EndpointReference>   </wsp:AppliesTo>   <t:RequestedSecurityToken>     <wsse:BinarySecurityToken wsu:Id="_1eeb5cf4-b40b-40f2-89e0-a3343f6bd985-6A15D1EED0CDB0D8FA48C7D566232154" ValueType="urn:ietf:params:oauth:token-type:jwt" EncodingType="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-soap-message-security-1.0#Base64Binary" xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd" xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd">[ base64string ] </wsse:BinarySecurityToken>   </t:RequestedSecurityToken>   <t:TokenType>urn:ietf:params:oauth:token-type:jwt</t:TokenType>   <t:RequestType>http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/02/trust/Issue</t:RequestType>   <t:KeyType>http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/NoProofKey</t:KeyType> </t:RequestSecurityTokenResponse> The token as a whole needs to be base-64 decoded. The decoded value contains a header, payload and signature, dot-separated; the parts are also base-64, but they need to be decoded using a no-padding algorithm (implementation and more details in this MSDN article on validating an Exchange 2013 identity token). The values are then in JSON; the header contains the token type and the hashing algorithm: "{"typ":"JWT","alg":"HS256"}" The payload contains the same data as in the SWT, but JSON rather than querystring format: {"aud":"http://localhost/x.y.z" "iss":"https://adfstest-bhw.accesscontrol.windows.net/" "nbf":1346398795 "exp":1346404795 "http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2008/06/identity/claims/authenticationinstant":"2012-08-31T07:39:53.652Z" "http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2008/06/identity/claims/authenticationmethod":"http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2008/06/identity/authenticationmethod/windows" "http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2008/06/identity/claims/windowsaccountname":"xyz" "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/emailaddress":"[email protected]" "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/upn":"[email protected]" "identityprovider":"http://fs.svc.x.y.z.com/adfs/services/trust"} The signature is in the third part of the token. Unlike SWT which is fixed to HMAC-SHA-256, JWT can support other protocols (the one in use is specified as the "alg" value in the header). How to: Validate an Exchange 2013 identity token contains an implementation of a JWT parser and validator; apart from the custom base-64 decoding part, it’s very similar to SWT extraction. I've wrapped the basic SWT and JWT in a ClaimInspector.aspx page on gitHub here: SWT and JWT claim inspector. You can drop it into any ASP.Net site and set the URL to be your redirect page in ACS. Swap ACS to issue SWT or JWT, and using the same page you can inspect the claims that come out.

  • Flash and Google Maps - Only Last Icon showing

    - by Peter
I have a simple Map and geocoding sample in Flash using CS4 The problem is simple - I can retrieve a short list from the google search api, but when I try to generate the icons on the map using a loop, only the last icon is displayed. (ignore the house icon, it is generated earlier) I feel I am missing something or made a stupid AS3 mistake (like treating it as if it was c#) - or even a stupid wood-for-the-trees mistake. The problem is in the last line of the code. I have added all my code just in case somebody else can find a use for it - lord knows it took me a great while to figure this out :) It runs here (also, if anybody has an idea why the icon is slightly in the wrong place on render, but corrects if you move the map - please let me know) Any help would be great. Thanks. • Access Violation When Accessing an STL Object Through A Pointer or Reference In A Different DLL or E

    - by Yan Cheng CHEOK
I experience the following problem while using legacy VC6. I just cann't switch to modern compiler, as I am working on a legacy code base. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/172396 Since there are no way to export map, my planned workaround is using static linking instead of dynamic linking. I was wondering whether you all had encountered the similar situation? What is your workaround for this? Another workaround is to create wrapper class around the stl map, to ensure creation and accessing stl map, are within the same DLL space. Note that, fun0, which uses wrapper class will just work fine. fun1 will crash. • SSHing thru an HTTP proxy

    - by Siler
Typical scenario: I'm trying to SSH thru a corporate HTTP proxy to a remote machine using corkscrew, and I get: ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host Obviously, there's a lot of reasons this might be happening - the proxy might not allow this, the remote box might not be running sshd, etc. So, I tried to tunnel manually via telnet: $ telnet proxy.evilcorporation.com 82 Trying XX.XX.XX.XX... Connected to proxy.evilcorporation.com. Escape character is '^]'. CONNECT myremotehost.com:22 HTTP/1.1 HTTP/1.1 200 Connection established So, unless I'm mistaken... it looks like the connection is working. So, why then, doesn't it work via corkscrew? ssh -vvv [email protected] -p 22 -o "ProxyCommand corkscrew proxy.evilcorporation.com 82 myremotehost.com 22" OpenSSH_6.6, OpenSSL 1.0.1f 6 Jan 2014 debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config debug1: /etc/ssh/ssh_config line 19: Applying options for * debug1: Executing proxy command: exec corkscrew proxy.evilcorporation.com 82 myremotehost.com 22 debug1: permanently_set_uid: 0/0 debug1: permanently_drop_suid: 0 debug1: identity file /root/.ssh/id_rsa type -1 debug1: identity file /root/.ssh/id_rsa-cert type -1 debug1: identity file /root/.ssh/id_dsa type -1 debug1: identity file /root/.ssh/id_dsa-cert type -1 debug1: identity file /root/.ssh/id_ecdsa type -1 debug1: identity file /root/.ssh/id_ecdsa-cert type -1 debug1: identity file /root/.ssh/id_ed25519 type -1 debug1: identity file /root/.ssh/id_ed25519-cert type -1 debug1: Enabling compatibility mode for protocol 2.0 debug1: Local version string SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_6.6p1 Ubuntu-2ubuntu1 ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

  • Can't ssh from CentOS 6.5 to SUSE LINUX 10.1

    - by Pavel Tankov
We have a quite old installation of SUSE LINUX 10.1 (i586) in the office. The problem shortly: I can successfully ssh to it from machines in the same LAN (192.168.1.0) and not from others (that are in 10.23.0.0). The SuSE has SSH server openssh-4.2p1-18.12. I have ruled out the firewall and hosts.allow and hosts.deny files. When my ssh login attempt fails, here is what the logs say: on the client: $ ssh -vvv 192.168.1.5 OpenSSH_5.3p1, OpenSSL 1.0.1e-fips 11 Feb 2013 debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config debug1: Applying options for * debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0 debug1: Connecting to 192.168.1.5 [192.168.1.5] port 22. debug1: Connection established. debug1: identity file /home/nbuild/.ssh/identity type -1 debug1: identity file /home/nbuild/.ssh/identity-cert type -1 debug1: identity file /home/nbuild/.ssh/id_rsa type -1 debug1: identity file /home/nbuild/.ssh/id_rsa-cert type -1 debug1: identity file /home/nbuild/.ssh/id_dsa type -1 debug1: identity file /home/nbuild/.ssh/id_dsa-cert type -1 on the server: Aug 21 16:34:25 serverhost sshd[20736]: debug3: fd 4 is not O_NONBLOCK Aug 21 16:34:25 serverhost sshd[20736]: debug1: Forked child 20739. • Scala: Recursively building all pathes in a graph?

    - by DarqMoth
    Trying to build all existing paths for an udirected graph defined as a map of edges using the following algorithm: Start: with a given vertice A Find an edge (X.A, X.B) or (X.B, X.A), add this edge to path Find all edges Ys fpr which either (Y.C, Y.B) or (Y.B, Y.C) is true For each Ys: A=B, goto Start Providing edges are defined as the following map, where keys are tuples consisting of two vertices: val edges = Map( ("n1", "n2") -> "n1n2", ("n1", "n3") -> "n1n3", ("n3", "n4") -> "n3n4", ("n5", "n1") -> "n5n1", ("n5", "n4") -> "n5n4") As an output I need to get a list of ALL pathes where each path is a list of adjecent edges like this: val allPaths = List( List(("n1", "n2") -> "n1n2"), List(("n1", "n3") -> "n1n3", ("n3", "n4") -> "n3n4"), List(("n5", "n1") -> "n5n1"), List(("n5", "n4") -> "n5n4"), List(("n2", "n1") -> "n1n2", ("n1", "n3") -> "n1n3", ("n3", "n4") -> "n3n4", ("n5", "n4") -> "n5n4")) //... //... more pathes to go } Note: Edge XY = (x,y) - "xy" and YX = (y,x) - "yx" exist as one instance only, either as XY or YX So far I have managed to implement code that duplicates edges in the path, which is wrong and I can not find the error: object Graph2 { type Vertice = String type Edge = ((String, String), String) type Path = List[((String, String), String)] val edges = Map( //(("v1", "v2") , "v1v2"), (("v1", "v3") , "v1v3"), (("v3", "v4") , "v3v4") //(("v5", "v1") , "v5v1"), //(("v5", "v4") , "v5v4") ) def main(args: Array[String]): Unit = { val processedVerticies: Map[Vertice, Vertice] = Map() val processedEdges: Map[(Vertice, Vertice), (Vertice, Vertice)] = Map() val path: Path = List() println(buildPath(path, "v1", processedVerticies, processedEdges)) } /** * Builds path from connected by edges vertices starting from given vertice * Input: map of edges * Output: list of connected edges like: List(("n1", "n2") -> "n1n2"), List(("n1", "n3") -> "n1n3", ("n3", "n4") -> "n3n4"), List(("n5", "n1") -> "n5n1"), List(("n5", "n4") -> "n5n4"), List(("n2", "n1") -> "n1n2", ("n1", "n3") -> "n1n3", ("n3", "n4") -> "n3n4", ("n5", "n4") -> "n5n4")) */ def buildPath(path: Path, vertice: Vertice, processedVerticies: Map[Vertice, Vertice], processedEdges: Map[(Vertice, Vertice), (Vertice, Vertice)]): List[Path] = { println("V: " + vertice + " VM: " + processedVerticies + " EM: " + processedEdges) if (!processedVerticies.contains(vertice)) { val edges = children(vertice) println("Edges: " + edges) val x = edges.map(edge => { if (!processedEdges.contains(edge._1)) { addToPath(vertice, processedVerticies.++(Map(vertice -> vertice)), processedEdges, path, edge) } else { println("ALready have edge: "+edge+" Return path:"+path) path } }) val y = x.toList y } else { List(path) } } def addToPath( vertice: Vertice, processedVerticies: Map[Vertice, Vertice], processedEdges: Map[(Vertice, Vertice), (Vertice, Vertice)], path: Path, edge: Edge): Path = { val newPath: Path = path ::: List(edge) val key = edge._1 val nextVertice = neighbor(vertice, key) val x = buildPath (newPath, nextVertice, processedVerticies, processedEdges ++ (Map((vertice, nextVertice) -> (vertice, nextVertice))) ).flatten // need define buidPath type x } def children(vertice: Vertice) = { edges.filter(p => (p._1)._1 == vertice || (p._1)._2 == vertice) } def containsPair(x: (Vertice, Vertice), m: Map[(Vertice, Vertice), (Vertice, Vertice)]): Boolean = { m.contains((x._1, x._2)) || m.contains((x._2, x._1)) } def neighbor(vertice: String, key: (String, String)): String = key match { case (`vertice`, x) => x case (x, `vertice`) => x } } Running this results in: List(List(((v1,v3),v1v3), ((v1,v3),v1v3), ((v3,v4),v3v4))) Why is that?

  • GLSL, is it possible to offsetting vertices based on height map colour?

    - by Rob
I am attempting to generate some terrain based upon a heightmap. I have generated a 32 x 32 grid and a corresponding height map - In my vertex shader I am trying to offset the position of the Y axis based upon the colour of the heightmap, white vertices being higher than black ones. //Vertex Shader Code #version 330 uniform mat4 modelMatrix; uniform mat4 viewMatrix; uniform mat4 projectionMatrix; uniform sampler2D heightmap; layout (location=0) in vec4 vertexPos; layout (location=1) in vec4 vertexColour; layout (location=3) in vec2 vertexTextureCoord; layout (location=4) in float offset; out vec4 fragCol; out vec4 fragPos; out vec2 fragTex; void main() { // Retreive the current pixel's colour vec4 hmColour = texture(heightmap, vertexTextureCoord); // Offset the y position by the value of current texel's colour value ? vec4 offset = vec4(vertexPos.x , vertexPos.y + hmColour.r, vertexPos.z , 1.0); // Final Position gl_Position = projectionMatrix * viewMatrix * modelMatrix * offset; // Data sent to Fragment Shader. fragCol = vertexColour; fragPos = vertexPos; fragTex = vertexTextureCoord; } However the code I have produced only creates a grid with none of the y vertices higher than any others.

  • JEE frameworks, a road map to learn? and should I learn them?

    - by vibhor
Background Information I have been into programming since past 1 years professionally, my day to day work includes writing BIRT reports, designing and validating forms using JEE (struts/spring, hibernate). I don't have a comp Sci 4 year degree (Electronics), so I have very Limited experience in comp Sci. Question JEE frameworks (struts1/2, spring, hibernate etc) are hot nowadays, however java world have a tendency of building A4j, B4J... mayway4J kind of stuff (and I am tired of it). AFAIK, frameworks are nothing but bunch of XML config files and hundreds of classes built to cram (by developer). And sooner then later a new framework come into picture that says I am the best among all. So My Question is - 1.What will you do to learn a framework (many frameworks) considering that it can be obsolete till you'll be master in it (Learning frameworks can take significant amount of time)? 2.Considering early into your career, will you give a damn that how well someone knows framework (knowing frame work is important but still..) and why/how should I learn a framework knowing I have to (un)learn it in order to learn other one (plenty of of 4Js....)? I am just trying to get a big picture, that, if you're in place of me, what would be your learning/cramming strategy (Road map)? I am not intended to start a holy war between A versus B, (frameworks are more or less essential).

  • How to join a Windows Domain and Map Network Drives?

    - by AgainstClint
I just installed the current build for Ubuntu on a partition for my work computer. I am a novice when it comes to Linux/Ubuntu, which is why I installed it along side windows. I want to learn how to operate and use Ubuntu much more than I do now, so I figured installing it and trying to do day to day functions here would be a "Thrown into the pool with sharks" way to do it, and I like that way. I did however have a few questions: We are on a Domain in Windows, is there any way to join that domain using the Ubuntu partition? We Also have 16 mapped network drives. I don't actually need ALL of them mapped for Ubuntu, but is there a way to Map at least one of them to see/use here in Ubuntu. Outlook Corporate email, how can I sign in/use it while...well, you get the idea. As I said earlier, I am VERY new to Ubuntu, i've only played around with it a bit at home and never at the office. If you could simplify it down for me a bit, that would be great.
