I am using two chatscript & connection in /etc/ppp/peers & /etc/ppp respectively.

    If you work on multiple computers, you probably use a USB drive to take your favorite portable software with you. Portable application suites like PortableApps.com, CodySafe, or Lupo PenSuite, each have a main menu providing access to the programs installed into the suite. However, there may be reasons why you need to create shortcuts to programs on your USB drive. You may be using a program that does not integrate into the suite’s main menu. Or, you may not be using an official portable application suite at all, and just placing portable software in a folder on your USB drive. Maybe you prefer using shortcuts on the root of the USB drive, like a portable desktop. Whatever your reason, you can’t just create a shortcut to an application on the USB drive and place it in the root of the drive. The shortcut will always refer to the full path of the application, including the drive letter. Different computers assign different drive letters to USB flash drives, so you would have to change the drive letter for your shortcuts when it changes. You can assign a static drive letter to the USB drive. However, if you would rather not do that, there is a way to create shortcuts to programs on a USB drive using relative paths. Because Windows does not support relative paths in shortcuts, we will show you how to create a “shortcut” on the root of a USB drive by creating a batch (.bat) file and converting it to an executable (.exe) file.   • How to manage many mobile device users at server side?

    I built a social Android application in which users can see other users around them by GPS location. At the beginning thing went well as I had low number of users, but now that I have increasing number of users (about 1500 +100 every day) it has revealed a major problem in my design. In my Google App Engine servlet I have static HashMap that holds all the users profiles objects, currently 1500 and this number will increase as more users register. Why I'm doing it? Every user that requests for the users around him compares his GPS with other users and checks if they are in his 10km radius. This happens every five minutes on average. Consequently, I can't get the users from db every time because GAE read/write operation quota will tear me apart. The problem with this design is? As the number of users increases, the Hashmap turns to null every 4-6 hours, I think that this time is getting shorter, but I'm not sure. I'm fixing this by reloading the users from the db every time I detect that it becomes null, but this causes DOS to my users for 30 sec, so I'm looking for better solution. I'm guessing that it happens because the size of the hashmap. Am I right? I have been advised to use a spatial database, but that means that I can't work with GAE any more and it means that I need to build my big server all over again and lose my existing DB. Is there something I can do with the existing tools? Thanks.

    I'm trying to install Ubuntu touch to a nexus 4. I've followed all the steps so far, downloaded the packages and gotten the phone ready, but now I got to the step of connecting it to the computer [under 'Enable USB Debugging'], but it's not listed when I try $ adb devices (I tried the 'adb kill-server' command first too, but nothing is listed). I'm sure it's something simple I'm forgetting, but can anyone help please? I have debugging enabled. Running Trusty in VirtualBox on MacBook. Thanks!

  • Windows Phone 8 detected as mass storage

    From version 8 onwards Windows Phone supports MTP (media transfer protocol) to transfer audio and I thought I could use Rhythmbox to upload music onto my device. Thing is Rhythmbox doesn't display the device under Devices pane (there's no Device pane for that matter). I searched other questions here and tried out installing mtp-tools, mtpfs and also tried gMTP, which doesn't seem to detect the device as a portable player. I see that the device's icon looks like a Camera in dash bar and when I see the address location, it shows gphoto2://[usb:002,013]/, which makes me doubt that it's detected as a camera or as a mass storage device. /.gvfs/gphoto2 mount on usb%3A002,003 is where the actual mount is. What do I do to fix this? I tried creating .is_audio_player too.

    All the questions I've seen regarding iOS universal apps (with or without cocos2d) deal with the "how to add graphics to a universal app". My question is, how does the code need to be written to ensure that the sprites appear appropriately on the screen (given that an iPhone 5's resolution is not proportional to an iPad's resolution)? Is it just a bunch of "if" statements and duplicate code or do iOS/cocos2d provide common function calls that will place the sprites at an appropriate position?

Now my question is how to know which module to blacklist, so he can use the card in Windows and override it when he boots into Ubuntu.     I'm new to linux and just starting to learn. From what I've read and experimented with there's no more support for older ati mobility cards. I resolved a few boot issues with my first install of Ubuntu 12.10(now on clean install #3) and my system seems to function ok with video unknown. Picture quality is good and no issues with video playback. It functions for my purposes. Should I leave it as is......or will this cause problems I'm not aware of? Thanks

  • volume group disappeared after xfs_check run

    EDIT** I have a volume group consisting of 5 RAID1 devices grouped together into a lvm and formatted with xfs. The 5th RAID device lost its RAID config (cat /proc/mdstat does not show anything). The two drives are still present (sdj and sdk), but they have no partitions. The LVM appeared to be happily using sdj up until recently. (doing a pvscan showed the first 4 RAID1 devices + /dev/sdj) I removed the LVM from the fstab, rebooted, then ran xfs_check on the LV. It ran for about half an hour, then stopped with an error. I tried rebooting again, and this time when it came up, the logical volume was no longer there. It is now looking for /dev/md5, which is gone (though it had been using /dev/sdj earlier). /dev/sdj was having read errors, but after replacing the SATA cable, those went away, so the drive appears to be fine for now. Can I modify the /etc/lvm/backup/dedvol, change the device to /dev/sdj and do a vgcfgrestore? I could try doing a pvcreate --uuid KZron2-pPTr-ZYeQ-PKXX-4Woq-6aNc-AG4rRJ /dev/sdj to make it recognize it, but I'm afraid that would erase the data on the drive UPDATE: just changing the pv to point to /dev/sdj did not work vgcfgrestore --file /etc/lvm/backup/dedvol dedvol Couldn't find device with uuid 'KZron2-pPTr-ZYeQ-PKXX-4Woq-6aNc-AG4rRJ'. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. I read some where that if we right click on the file and in Properties-Security click the unblock option, this problem is solved but this is not working for me as I dont get Security tab in Properties.Please help!! Due to this I am not able to install any software in my computer
