  • Access Control Lists in Debian Lenny

    - by arbales
So, for my clients to who have sites hosted on my server, I create user accounts, with standard home folders inside /home. I setup an SSH jail for all the collective users, because I really am against using a separate FTP server. Then, I installed ACL and added acl to my /etc/fstab — all good. I cd into /home and chmod 700 ./*. At this point users cannot see into other users home directories (yay), but apache can't see them either (boo) . I ran setfacl u:www-data:rx ./*. I also tried individual directories. Now apache can see the sites again, but so can all the users. ACL changed the permissions of the home folders to 750. How do I setup ACL's so that Apache can see the sites hosted in user's home folders AND 2. Users can't see outside their home and into others' files. Edit: more details: Output after chmod -R 700 ./* sh-3.2# chmod 700 ./* sh-3.2# ls -l total 72 drwx------+ 24 austin austin 4096 Jul 31 06:13 austin drwx------+ 8 jeremy collective 4096 Aug 3 03:22 jeremy drwx------+ 12 josh collective 4096 Jul 26 02:40 josh drwx------+ 8 joyce collective 4096 Jun 30 06:32 joyce (Not accessible to others users OR apache) setfacl -m u:www-data:rx jeremy (Now accessible to members apache and collective — why collective, too?) sh-3.2# getfacl jeremy # file: jeremy # owner: jeremy # group: collective user::rwx user:www-data:r-x group::r-x mask::r-x other::--- Solution Ultimately what I did was: chmod 755 * setfacl -R -m g::--- * setfacl -R -m u:www-data:rx *

  • Weblogic 12 and the CLI

    - by Rig
I am working with WebLogic on Fedora 19 and am attempting to use the CLI tools to no avail. It appears these were deprecated as far back as WebLogic 9 however I was assured they are still there and still functional. As it stands I have a need to use them if they are in fact functional. What appears to the case is that the weblogic jar file is not being loaded correctly to the classpath by this script after trying to manually add it to the classpath as it fails when trying to add those jars via java -classpath <path>. I've spent a lot of time so far trying to get this sorted out but I'm wondering what I may be missing here. My Java runtime is version 7, Fedora is 19, and WebLogic is 12.1. When I run env after running the provided set environment script it appears to have no impact from what I can see. (I'll add that later when I get back to that machine). I'm mostly a Windows developer so some of this is a topic I'm not well versed in. [foo@localhost bin]$ ./setDomainEnv.sh [foo@localhost bin]$ java weblogic.Admin -url t3://localhost:7001 -username <username> -password <password> HELP Error: Could not find or load main class weblogic.Admin [foo@localhost bin]$ ls -ltar total 72 drwxr-x--- 2 foo foo 4096 Jun 2 07:36 service_migration drwxr-x--- 2 foo foo 4096 Jun 2 07:36 server_migration drwxr-x--- 2 foo foo 4096 Jun 2 07:36 nodemanager -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 1267 Jun 2 07:36 setStartupEnv.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 1105 Jun 2 07:36 startNodeManager.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 5765 Jun 2 07:36 startWebLogic.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 2001 Jun 2 07:36 stopWebLogic.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 3170 Jun 2 07:36 startManagedWebLogic.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 2776 Jun 2 07:36 stopManagedWebLogic.sh -rwxrwxrwx 1 foo foo 14136 Jun 2 07:36 setDomainEnv.sh -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 2060 Jun 2 07:36 startComponent.sh drwxr-x--- 5 foo foo 4096 Jun 2 07:36 . -rwxr-x--- 1 foo foo 1726 Jun 2 07:36 stopComponent.sh drwxr-x--- 12 foo foo 4096 Jun 2 07:45 ..

  • Same domain only : smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 530-'SMTP authentication is required

    - by user124672
I have a very strange problem after moving my netwave.be domain from WebHost4Life to Arvixe. I configured several email adresses, like [email protected] and [email protected]. For POP3 I can use mail.netwave.be, a mailserver hosted by Arvixe. However, for SMTP I have to use relay.skynet.be. Skynet (Belgacom) is one of the biggest internet providers in Belgium and blocks smtp requests to external mailservers. So for years I've been using relay.skynet.be to send my messages using [email protected] as the sender. The worked perfectly. After moving my domain to Arvixe, this is no longer the case. I can send emails to people, no problem. I have received emails too, so I suspect that's ok too. But I can't send emails from one user of my domain to another user. For example, if I send a mail from [email protected] to [email protected], relay.skynet.be picks up the mail just fine. A few seconds later, I get a 'Delivery Status Notification (Failure)' mail that contains: Reporting-MTA: dns; mailrelay012.isp.belgacom.be Final-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected] Action: failed Status: 5.0.0 (permanent failure) Remote-MTA: dns; [69.72.141.4] Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 530-'SMTP authentication is required.' (delivery attempts: 0) Like I said, this only seems to be the case when both the sender and recipient are adresses of a domain hosted by Arvixe. I have serveral accounts not related to Arvixe at all. I can use relay.skynet.be to send mail to [email protected] using these accounts. Likewise, I can use relay.skynet.be to send mail from [email protected] to these accounts. but not from one Arvixe account to another. I hope I have clearly outlined the problem and someone will be able to help me.

  • 426 Connection closed; transfer aborted.

    - by Jiaoziren
Hi, I have an IIS FTP set up on Windows 2003 SP2 (S1). Everyday in the early morning, a script on another server (S2) will run and initiate FTP transfer of pulling log files from S1 to S2. The FTP client we're using is built-in FTP.exe in Windows 2000 on S2. Recently we replaced S1 with a new server however we kept the IP address. There are multiple IP addresses on new S1. Ever since the new S1 was in place, the '426 Connection closed; transfer aborted.' errors haven been occuring randomly. The log indicated that the transfer started ok however the file cannot be transferred completely, as per log below: mget access*.log 200 Type set to A. 200 PORT command successful. 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for access02232010.log(205777167 bytes). 426 Connection closed; transfer aborted. ftp: 20454832 bytes received in 283.95Seconds 72.04Kbytes/sec. The firewall monitor suggested that the connection was setup in passive mode however I've been told that MS FTP.exe doesn't support passive mode. Though I can see the response of 'entering passive mode' from server when typing in 'quote pasv'. My network admin has told me to try the transfer in active mode however I don't know how to open active mode on client side. It's getting really frustrating. Wish someone here has the right knowledge/experience could shed me a light. Cheers.

  • TCP packets larger than 4 KB don't get a reply from Linux

    - by pts
I'm running Linux 3.2.51 in a virtual machine (192.168.33.15). I'm sending Ethernet frames to it. I'm writing custom software trying to emulate a TCP peer, the other peer is Linux running in the virtual machine guest. I've noticed that TCP packets larger than about 4 KB are ignored (i.e. dropped without an ACK) by the Linux guest. If I decrease the packet size by 50 bytes, I get an ACK. I'm not sending new payload data until the Linux guest fully ACKs the previous one. I've increased ifconfig eth0 mtu 51000, and ping -c 1 -s 50000 goes through (from guest to my emulator) and the Linux guest gets a reply of the same size. I've also increased sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_rmem='70000 87380 87380 and tried with sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_mtu_probing=1 (and also =0). There is no IPv3 packet fragmentation, all packets have the DF flag set. It works the other way round: the Linux guest can send TCP packets of 6900 bytes of payload and my emulator understands them. This is very strange to me, because only TCP packets seem to be affected (large ICMP packets go through). Any idea what can be imposing this limit? Any idea how to do debug it in the Linux kernel? See the tcpdump -n -vv output below. tcpdump was run on the Linux guest. The last line is interesting: 4060 bytes of TCP payload is sent to the guest, and it doesn't get any reply packet from the Linux guest for half a minute. 14:59:32.000057 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, • Interpreting Inkscape SVG path coordinates for HTML map

    - by tovare
I needed some coordinates for a HTML MAP and tried to use inkskape by opening the image and just draw a path with my polygon coordinates. My document properties are set to 256 x 256 pixels and units: px When opening the svg file i get coordinates which are not immediately apparent. <path style="fill:none;stroke:#000000;stroke-width:1px;stroke-linecap:butt; stroke-linejoin:miter;stroke-opacity:1" d="m 23.864407,126.91525 3.254237, 44.47458 35.79661, 44.47458 71.593216, 19.52542 71.59322, -37.9661 22.77967, -72.67797 L 218.0339, 64 192,49.898305 l -32.54237, 8.677966 -18.44068, -35.79661 1.08474, -17.3559322 -71.593215,0 L 45.559322,34.711864 35. 79661,57.491525 5.4237288, 74.847458 6.5084746,101.9661 23.864407,126.91525 z" id="path2840" /> How can I get coordinates I can use ? The original image The SVG file from inkscape Link to SVG Progress: I tried a tool called InkscapeMap which looks promising and simple, but unfortunately it looks like it didn't work with this particular svn file. Solved! Saving the file as a Plain SVG solved the problem and InkscapeMap worked perfectly. (Btw. saving as an optimized svg caused a parsing error) Update 13.11 Using inkscapeMap 0.6 and Inkscape 0.48 i needed to uncheck relative coordinates in SVG output preferences. Also if you get a C error message, hunt down the polygon with a C in it, and redraw the polygon using the XML editor in inkscape. Update 25.11.2011 I modified the source to improve parsing. http://tovare.com/articles/createhtmlimagemapsusinginkscape/

  • Adding Static IP's to the NIC

    - by Brett Powell
We are currently working on migrating a lot of new machines to our network, and my job this morning was to setup all of the IP Addresses. I worked on this all morning, and when I got back tonight I was informed that they had all been setup incorrectly, and had to be removed and re-added. I am quite confused as I have been setting up IP's on machines for a long time and I am curious as to what the issue is. Just taking into account this example... 72.26.196.160/29 255.255.255.248 A /29 block is 5 usable IP's. With the script I wrote and used, the IP Addresses .162 - .166 were added to the NIC. I can't remember now what the name for .161 was, but isn't it the broadcast address or something which isn't assigned to the NIC when adding additional IP Blocks? I am curious as to where my logic is failing me. Not to mention even if .161 was to be added, there is no reason why all of the IPs would have to be removed, as .161 could just be added in addition to these.

  • IIS FTP error: 426 Connection closed; transfer aborted.

Cheers.

  • Overriding routes on Openvpn client, iproute, iptables2

    - by sarvavijJana
I am looking for some way to route packets based on its destination ports switching regular internet connection and established openvpn tunnel. This is my configuration OpenVPN server ( I have no control over it ) OpenVPN client running ubuntu wlan0 192.168.1.111 - internet connected if Several routes applied on connection to openvpn from server: /sbin/route add -net 207.126.92.3 netmask 255.255.255.255 gw 192.168.1.1 /sbin/route add -net 0.0.0.0 netmask 128.0.0.0 gw 5.5.0.1 /sbin/route add -net 128.0.0.0 netmask 128.0.0.0 gw 5.5.0.1 And I need to route packets regarding it's destination ports for ex: 80,443 into vpn everything else directly to isp connection 192.168.1.1 What i have used during my attempts: iptables -A OUTPUT -t mangle -p tcp -m multiport ! --dports 80,443 -j MARK --set-xmark 0x1/0xffffffff ip rule add fwmark 0x1 table 100 ip route add default via 192.168.1.1 table 100 I was trying to apply this settings using up/down options of openvpn client configuration All my attempts reduced to successful packet delivery and response only via vpn tunnel. • Why can't I route to some sites from my MacBook Pro that I can see from my iPad?

    - by Robert Atkins
I am on M1 Cable (residential) broadband in Singapore. I have an intermittent problem routing to some sites from my MacBook Pro—often Google-related sites (arduino.googlecode.com and ajax.googleapis.com right now, but sometimes even gmail.com.) This prevents StackExchange chat from working, for instance. Funny thing is, my iPad can route to those sites and they're on the same wireless network! I can ping the sites, but not traceroute to them which I find odd. That I can get through via the iPad implies the problem is with the MBP. In any case, calling M1 support is... not helpful. I get the same behaviour when I bypass the Airport Express entirely and plug the MBP directly into the cable modem. • SPF record for Gmail?

    - by Chris
I have DNS, with a SPF TXT record, configured for a domain name. The primary user of the domain name now needs to be able to send both from our SMTP servers, and also from her GMail account. I've seen all the information about adding "include:_spf.google.com" to the SPF TXT record, but, as I look into it, it appears that record is outdated. In particular, I had the user send me a test message, and note that it was: Received: from mail-la0-f50.google.com (mail-la0-f50.google.com [209.85.215.50]) However, _spf.google.com doesn't list that IP address: $ dig +short _spf.google.com txt "v=spf1 ip4:216.239.32.0/19 ip4:64.233.160.0/19 ip4:66.249.80.0/20 ip4:72.14.192.0/18 ip4:209.85.128.0/17 ip4:66.102.0.0/20 ip4:74.125.0.0/16 ip4:64.18.0.0/20 ip4:207.126.144.0/20 ip4:173.194.0.0/16 ?all" (Note that a 209.85.21*8*.0 network is listed, but not 209.85.21*5*.0.) Is there a better way to enable sending from GMail? This user sends to at least one recipient with a strict SPF policy that bounces mail not from a designated host... Many thanks!

  • VMware Data Recovery error -3960 and Event ID 8193 on Windows Server 2003

I've been trying to solve this problem since a few days now without any success. What I'm trying is to make a backup of a virtual machine running Windows Server 2003 SP 2 using VMware Data Recovery 2.0.0.1861. • Where is my CPU usage going?

    - by Josh
My Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid virtual machine is saying it's at 100% CPU usage... but all I'm running is Thunderbird. According to top, CPU usage should be ~25.9%... • Updating PHP on Linux - "No Packages marked for Update"?

    - by Aristotle
I'm very new to server-administration, but I was thinking the task of updating PHP to 5.2+ should be relatively simple. • Apache2/mod_fcgid/PHP Process Limits Not Respected

    - by Daniel
I've recently moved to Apache2 / mod_fcgid / PHP from nginx / php_fpm. This is the second server on which I've made this migration, but it's used much less frequently than the first, which is working like a charm. The problem is in the PHP processes that it's spawning. In looking at the mod_fcgid documentation, it appears that the default for killing idle processes is 300 seconds; I've changed that to 20. At this point, I'd be fine if 300 would work - but it's not happening. It's been running for nearly a day now, and server-status shows 12 active processes: Process name: php5 Pid Active Idle Accesses State 19243 84879 14420 11 Ready Process name: php5 Pid Active Idle Accesses State 20954 82143 149 22 Ready 20947 82149 149 22 Ready 20953 82143 149 13 Ready Process name: php5 Pid Active Idle Accesses State 20589 82765 23644 72 Ready Process name: php5 Pid Active Idle Accesses State 17663 86103 2034 117 Ready Process name: php5 Pid Active Idle Accesses State 19862 83961 1976 91 Ready Process name: php5 Pid Active Idle Accesses State 18495 85825 5164 18 Ready Process name: php5 Pid Active Idle Accesses State 25463 75109 23948 24 Ready Process name: php5 Pid Active Idle Accesses State 2466 60019 60016 2 Ready Process name: php5 Pid Active Idle Accesses State 20729 82541 12592 23 Ready Process name: php5 Pid Active Idle Accesses State 22135 80616 46361 6 Ready PHP applications are not being served at this point - Apache is returning a 503. However, it is still serving the server-status module, and mod_mono/Mono 2.10 applications are still being served. The problem is with the PHP. /etc/apache2/mods-available/fcgid.conf... <IfModule mod_fcgid.c> AddHandler fcgid-script .fcgi FcgidConnectTimeout 10 FcgidMaxRequestsPerProcess 500 FcgidIdleTimeout 20 FcgidFixPathinfo 1 FcgidMaxProcesses 10 </IfModule> (heh - Max Processes isn't being respected either...) Of course, fcgid.conf is smylinked in mods-enabled.

  • Dynamic fowarding with SOCKS5 proxy [on hold]

    - by bh3244
I'm building my own SOCKS5 client and HTTP library and am having trouble figuring out how things work with dynamic port forwarding. So far I can connect successfully with my SOCKS5 client, but from there on I am stuck. I am using the ssh -D command. Considering I have my local machine "home" and my server "server" and I wanted to use "server" as proxy for all connections I understand I would type ssh -D "localport" "serverhostname" on my local machine "home". This command I understand has ssh accept connections with the SOCKS5 protocol. So now if I want to connect to google.com(74.125.224.72:80) and issue a GET for the front page, I assume I would send the SOCKS5 client request and the server would respond back with a 0x00 "succeeded" and from then on I am connected and I would send the HTTP GET request and the server would respond back accordingly with the data. Now if I want to navigate to a different website, must I issue another SOCKS5 connection request for that sites IP/hostname? I'm confused if this is the way it is done, or if there is a program listening on the local port of the "server" and handling outgoing and incoming data. To reiterate: Do SOCKS5 proxies work by sending repeated SOCKS5 connection requests for different addresses or is there just one connection to a local port on "server" and another program on "server" handles the outgoing connection to the internet by using that local port to send and receive data to/from "home"?

  • Continuous outbound connection from QNAP NAS

    - by user192702
    I notice on my firewall that my QNAP NAS is continuously sending UDP sessions out to the Internet. Every second I have 5 - 7 connections out to addresses like the following: 2013-11-10 23:17:54 Deny 192.168.60.5 93.215.212.162 6881/udp 6881 6881 2013-11-10 23:18:05 Deny 192.168.60.5 87.76.0.83 29872/udp 6881 29872 2013-11-10 23:18:05 Deny 192.168.60.5 5.164.188.224 6881/udp 6881 6881 2013-11-10 23:18:05 Deny 192.168.60.5 80.61.45.206 6881/udp 6881 6881 2013-11-10 23:18:34 Deny 192.168.60.5 37.117.204.129 6881/udp 6881 6881 2013-11-10 23:18:34 Deny 192.168.60.5 71.67.101.30 51413/udp 6881 51413 2013-11-10 23:18:34 Deny 192.168.60.5 89.28.92.191 8621/udp 6881 8621 2013-11-10 23:18:34 Deny 192.168.60.5 94.244.157.85 28221/udp 6881 28221 2013-11-10 23:18:34 Deny 192.168.60.5 213.241.61.240 9089/udp 6881 9089 2013-11-10 23:18:45 Deny 192.168.60.5 88.163.28.100 52721/udp 6881 52721 2013-11-10 23:18:45 Deny 192.168.60.5 37.55.190.20 10027/udp 6881 10027 2013-11-10 23:18:45 Deny 192.168.60.5 62.72.188.146 14306/udp 6881 14306 2013-11-10 23:19:14 Deny 192.168.60.5 85.53.244.205 51413/udp 6881 51413 2013-11-10 23:19:14 Deny 192.168.60.5 67.163.18.215 52130/udp 6881 52130 2013-11-10 23:19:14 Deny 192.168.60.5 86.172.105.140 9089/udp 6881 9089 2013-11-10 23:19:14 Deny 192.168.60.5 99.28.56.121 52383/udp 6881 52383 2013-11-10 23:19:14 Deny 192.168.60.5 109.60.184.249 46217/udp 6881 46217 2013-11-10 23:19:25 Deny 192.168.60.5 121.107.144.174 21135/udp 6881 21135 2013-11-10 23:19:25 Deny 192.168.60.5 84.39.116.180 48446/udp 6881 48446 2013-11-10 23:19:25 Deny 192.168.60.5 183.238.254.62 openvpn/udp 6881 1194 ......... • Disable XP disk check using FAT32

    - by mike xie
Right now I'm using Windows XP and Macintosh on my MacBook Pro via Bootcamp. Sometimes my XP would crash and when I restarted it it would have to go through disk check, although it says I can skip it by pushing a key, but this never worked for me. I did a bit of research online on how to disable disk check and found chkntfs /x c: but when I tried this out in my cmd it said the disk is FAT32 format. I tried to convert my C: drive from FAT32 to NTFS by using convert c: /FS:NTFS but when I tried this it told me to locate my C: drive. I tried to type C: and Bootcamp but couldn't really get past it. I later saw someone said to use this: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager] "AutoChkTimeOut"=dword:0000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager] "BootExecute"=hex(7):61,00,75,00,74,00,6f,00,63,00,68,00,65,00,63,00,6b,00,20,\ 00,61,00,75,00,74,00,6f,00,63,00,68,00,6b,00,20,00,2a,00,00,00,00,00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "SFCScan"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\cleanuppath] @=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,\ 00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,63,00,6c,00,\ 65,00,61,00,6e,00,6d,00,67,00,72,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,20,00,2f,00,44,\ 00,20,00,25,00,63,00,00,00 (Save it as .reg and execute it) I have just tried running it but am not really sure if it did anything (my laptop hasn't crashed yet :) ) Firstly, I am wondering if someone can tell me how to check if that script worked? Secondly, if that script didn't work, does anyone have any solution for these problems? Is there another way to disable disk check or is there another way for me to change my FAT32 to NTFS?

  • Why can't I route to some sites from my MacBook Pro that I can see from my iPad? [closed]

Can anybody explain a) how this is even possible and b) how to fix it? mella:~ ratkins$ ping ajax.googleapis.com PING googleapis.l.google.com (209.85.132.95): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 209.85.132.95: icmp_seq=0 ttl=50 time=11.488 ms 64 bytes from 209.85.132.95: icmp_seq=1 ttl=53 time=13.012 ms 64 bytes from 209.85.132.95: icmp_seq=2 ttl=53 time=13.048 ms ^C --- googleapis.l.google.com ping statistics --- 3 packets transmitted, 3 packets received, 0.0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 11.488/12.516/13.048/0.727 ms mella:~ ratkins$ traceroute ajax.googleapis.com traceroute to googleapis.l.google.com (209.85.132.95), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets traceroute: sendto: No route to host 1 traceroute: wrote googleapis.l.google.com 52 chars, ret=-1 *traceroute: sendto: No route to host traceroute: wrote googleapis.l.google.com 52 chars, ret=-1 ^C mella:~ ratkins$ The traceroute from the iPad goes (and I'm copying this by hand): 10.0.1.1 119.56.34.1 172.20.8.222 172.31.253.11 202.65.245.1 202.65.245.142 209.85.243.156 72.14.233.145 209.85.132.82 From the MBP, I can't traceroute to any of the IPs from 172.20.8.222 onwards. [For extra flavour, not being able to access the above appears to stop me logging in to Server Fault via OpenID and formatting the above traceroutes correctly. Anyone with sufficient rep here to do so, I'd be much obliged.]
