  • Changing models in django results in broken database?

    I have added and removed fields in my models.py file and then run manage.py syncdb. Usually I have to quit out of the shell and restart it before syncdb does anything. And then even after that, I am getting errors when trying to access the admin pages, it seems that certain new fields that I've added still don't show up in the model: Caught an exception while rendering: no such column: mySite_book.Title

  • Duplicate content in ASP.NET MVC because of custom routes MapRoute(), are areas the rescue?

    I use custom routes for my URLs and my action become accessible via two URLs (not counting trailing slash and lower\upper case letters): one via my custom route /my-custom-route-url/ and one via default /controller/action. I see one possible solution -- put all controllers which use default routing (they are mostly backend) in one area, and place all others in separate area and use it without default route. May be there is a better way?

    How can I retrieve a list of urls a user has visited on a Windows Mobile phone? I've written a program that successfully retrieves the visited urls in a user's cache, using FindFirstUrlCacheEntry and FindNextUrlCacheEntry - but as I understand it this is not the same as the user's actual web history. In any case it does not seem to give correct results.

  • Access is denied error with pregenerated .pyc or .pyo files

    Hi All, I am getting an Access is denied error while I am trying to run the .pyo file by double click or from the command prompt. Lets say I have abc.py (keeping main method entry point) which imports files xyz.py and imports wx etc. I generate the .pyo file. But once I try to run abc.pyo I get the access is denied error. I am not getting why this happening? Any help will really appreciated. Thanks

    I have URLs like http://example.com/depict?smiles=CO&width=200&height=200 (and with several other optional arguments) My urls.py contains: urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^$', 'cansmi.index'), (r'^cansmi$', 'cansmi.cansmi'), url(r'^depict$', cyclops.django.depict, name="cyclops-depict"), I can go to that URL and get the 200x200 PNG that was constructed, so I know that part works. In my template from the "cansmi.cansmi" response I want to construct a URL for the named template "cyclops-depict" given some query parameters. I thought I could do {% url cyclops-depict smiles=input_smiles width=200 height=200 %} where "input_smiles" is an input to the template via a form submission. In this case it's the string "CO" and I thought it would create a URL like the one at top. This template fails with a TemplateSyntaxError: Caught an exception while rendering: Reverse for 'cyclops-depict' with arguments '()' and keyword arguments '{'smiles': u'CO', 'height': 200, 'width': 200}' not found. This is a rather common error message both here on StackOverflow and elsewhere. In every case I found, people were using them with parameters in the URL path regexp, which is not the case I have where the parameters go into the query. That means I'm doing it wrong. How do I do it right? That is, I want to construct the full URL, including path and query parameters, using something in the template.     Hi, I'm using preg_replace to create urls for modrewrite based paging links. I use: $nextURL = preg_replace('%/([\d]+)/%','/'.($pageNumber+1).'/',$currentURL); which works fine, however I was wondering if there is a better way without having to include the '/' in the replacement parameter. I need to match the number as being between two / as the URLs can sometimes contain numbers other than the page part. These numbers are never only numbers however, so have /[\d]+/ stops them from getting replaced.

I have already set it up so I can see the complete tweet, the only thing I want it to colorize hashtags and urls. So I would need to slice up the string in different substrings, colorize the hashtags and urls and glue it together in various UILabels Is there an easier way to accomplish this? In short I need some parts of a string colored differently than others.

  • python: simple example for a python egg with a one-file source file?

    I'm not quite sure how to build a really simple one-file source module. Is there a sample module out there one the web somewhere which can be built as a python .egg? From the setuptools page it looks pretty simple, you just have your setup.py file and then at least one other .py file somewhere, and I can build an .egg file OK, and even install it using easy_install, but I can't seem to import the file from within python. (note: using 2.6.4)

    Hey, I'm trying to achieve URLs like this in Rails: http://localhost/posts/1234/post-slug-name with both ID and slug name instead of either http://localhost/posts/1234 or http://localhost/posts/post-slug-name (right now I have just slug name in URL, so this part is over). How can I do this? UPD I found an article on this: http://augustl.heroku.com/blog/styling-rails-urls, instead of /id/slug it suggests to use /id-slug which works perfectly for me, so I'll go with this.
