• Outlook 2003 Add-In Setup Project with COM DLL Deployment Problem

  Hi, I developed an Outlook 2003 add-in which uses the com dll redemption. I created a visual studio 2008 setup project, added a custom action to run "caspol.exe -machine -addgroup 1 -strong -hex [key] -noname -noversion FullTrust -n \"Name\" -description \"desc\" and moved the registry keys under software to HKLM as described in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc136646.aspx#AutoDeployVSTOse_InstallingtheAddinforAllUsers to ensure all-users compatibility. I included the redemption.dll in the setup with vsdrfCOMSelfReg (vsdrfCOM throwed an error). My problem is: When installing the setup on a test machine under an admin account, it runs fine under all users, however when we use the company wide software deployment which runs under a system account the setup executes but the add-in wont load. If I repair the installation with an admin account again it loads just fine. Shouldn't a system account have the required permissions to install all of the components? What options do I have? I created the following function: $("#loginLink, #registerLink") .click(function () { $('#loginLink').prop('disabled', true); $('#registerLink').prop('disabled', true); dialog(this); }); It calls the dialog correctly but doesn't disable the links and if I click the buttons more than once it calls up more than one dialog box. Is there something I am doing wrong? I can't see why it would not work.

  I'm using ActiveScaffold to create an Admin UI. I have two models: Post and Comments. A Post has-many Comments, and a Comment belongs-to a post. There's a validates_presences_of :text validation the Comment model. The problem is that when I create a new Post from the Admin UI without creating a new Comment in the subform, ActiveScaffold complains about the validation. I can create the Post if I also create a Comment associated with it, which is not what I Want. I can create a new Post manually from script/console. What gives?

  hey all, im using linq2SQL to grab information from my SQL database, i have a gridview which shows all the top level information, in this case a list of groups (i.e admin, users and so on) when a user clicks say the admin group, i want to be able to show each member in that group, i have the following code which grabs the information from the database, DataClassesDataContext dc = new DataClassesDataContext(); GridViewRow row = GridView1.SelectedRow; var query1 = from p in dc.Users where p.groups.GroupID == Int32.Parse(row.Cells[1].Text) select new { p.Name, p.Address, p.Contact Number, p.Bio, }; i no i can use gridview again to display the results of the query, but this doesnt really look nice as it shows too much information at one, how would i go about having some sort of display which will show just one user at a time giving me the chance to click next and back ? thanks

  Hi, I'm trying to run a batch file as admin. I found that I can use runas command which corresponds sudo command in Linux I think. I tried runas /noprofile /user:computername\adminuser "blah.bat start" But it gives an error, saying : Logon failure: user account restriction.. (msdos window doesn't allow me to coppy damn thing I hate dos anyway .. ) is there anyway, I can run this batch file as admin, right click doesn't work me because I can't give any parameter to it. Any help, I really really apreciated that.

  I currently have the following code: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !assets/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !uploads/ RewriteRule ^([a-z|0-9_&;=-]+)/([a-z|0-9_&;=-]+) index.php?method=$1&value=$2 [NC,L] This works perfectly to redirect 'page/home' to 'index.php?method=page&value=home. However at some points I need to add an extra variable or two to the query string such as 'admin/useraccounts/mod/2'. When I simply tack on bits to the end of the rewrite rule it works if all the variables are 'page/home/rand/rand' or 'admin/useraccounts/mod/2', but if anything is missing such as 'page/home' I get a 404. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks.

For more information, contact your system administrator." When I RDP into the server and try Microsoft CRM Workflow Manager/Monitor with http or https connectivity, it doesn't work. "The specified Microsoft CRM server is not responding. This might happen if it is currently unavaliable, it is not a Microsoft CRM server, or you are not a valid user. Contact your sys-admin." This is a Microsoft CRM v3.0 / Microsoft SQL server 2005 box, Active directory is on a seperate box.. When I right click Microsoft CRM Worlkflow Service, properties, log on: it shows "crmtestuser" and a password. I did not RDP or try logging in as that crmtestuser, but I am Admin... Could this be a clue? What can I try?

  Super nub question time! I am trying to use simplejson on the google appengine. In a terminal on my machine I have simplejson installed and working. But my when I try to import it in a script running on the appengine I get an error saying no such library exists. • Building static nav in concrete5

  I've inherited a site built with the CMS concrete5. I'm just starting to dissect it but was hit with a wicked short deadline on a complete overhaul to the nav. So, I want to build out a static nav and then go back when I have more time and integrate it with the auto-nav. Does anybody have experience working with concrete5? If so: Where would I drop my custom static nav? Is it possible to select it from the admin (so that the current one is still available if the client wants to switch back via the admin)? Thanks!

• Hibernate + Spring : cascade deletion ignoring non-nullable constraints

  Hello, I seem to be having one weird problem with some Hibernate data classes. In a very specific case, deleting an object should fail due to existing, non-nullable relations - however it does not. The strangest part is that a few other classes related to the same definition behave appropriately. I'm using HSQLDB 1.8.0.10, Hibernate 3.5.0 (final) and Spring 3.0.2. The Hibernate properties are set so that batch updates are disabled. In the conditions shown above, the deletion will fail if there is an Account instance that refers to the Credentials instance being deleted, which is the expected behaviour. However, an AdminCredentials instance will be ignored, the deletion will succeed, leaving an invalid AdminCredentials instance behind (trying to refresh that instance causes an error because the Credentials instance no longer exists). I have tried moving the AdminCredentials table from the admin DB schema to the users DB schema. Strangely enough, a deletion-related error is then triggered, but not in the deletion code - it is triggered at the next query involving the table, seemingly ignoring the flush mode setting. I've been trying to understand this for hours and I must admit I'm just as clueless now as I was then.

  I just spent the better part of 3 hours trying to get my Rails application logging with Log4j. I've finally got it working, but I'm not sure if what I did is correct. I tried various methods to no avail until my various last attempt. So I'm really looking for some validation here, perhaps some pointers and tips as well -- anything would be appreciated to be honest. I've summarized all my feeble methods into three attempts below. I'm hoping for some enlightenment on where I went wrong with each attempt -- even if it means I get ripped up. Thanks for the help in advance! System Specs Rails 3.0 Windows Server 2008 Log4j 1.2 Tomact 6.0.29 Java 6 Attempt 1 - Configured Tomcat to Use Log4J I basically followed the guide on the Apache Tomcat website here. The steps are: Create a log4j.properties file in $CATALINA_HOME/lib Download and copy the log4j-x.y.z.jar into $CATALINA_HOME/lib Replace $CATALINA_HOME/bin/tomcat-juli.jar with the tomcat-juli.jar from the Apache Tomcat Extras folder Copy tomcat-juli-adapters.jar from the Apache Tomcat Extras folder into $CATALINA_HOME/lib Delete $CATALINA_BASE/conf/logging.properties Start Tomcat (as a service) Expected Results According to the Guide I should have seen a tomcat.log file in my $CATALINA_BASE/logs folder. Actual Results No tomcat.log Saw three of the standard logs instead jakarta_service_20101231.log stderr_20101231.log stdout_20101231.log Question Shouldn't I have at least seen a tomcat.log file? Attempt 2 - Use default Tomcat logging (commons-logging) Reverted all the changes from the previous setup Modified $CATALINA_BASE/conf/logging.properties by doing the following: Adding a setting for my application in the handlers line: 5rails3.org.apache.juli.FileHandler Adding Handler specific properties 5rails3.org.apache.juli.FileHandler.level = FINE 5rails3.org.apache.juli.FileHandler.directory = ${catalina.base}/logs 5rails3.org.apache.juli.FileHandler.prefix = rails3. Adding Facility specific properties org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[Catalina].[localhost].[/rails3].level = INFO org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[Catalina].[localhost].[/rails3].handlers = 4host-manager.org.apache.juli.FileHandler Modified my web.xml by adding the following context parameter as per the Logging section of the jruby-rack readme (I also modified my warbler.rb accordingly, but I did opted to change the web.xml directly to test things faster). <context-param> <param-name>jruby.rack.logging</param-name> <param-value>commons_logging</param-value> </context-param> Restarted Tomcat Results A log file was created (rails3.log), however there was no log information in the file. Attempt 2A - Use Log4j with existing set up I decided to go Log4j another whirl with this new web.xml setting. Copied the log4j.jar into my WEB-INF/lib folder Created a log4j.properties file and put it into WEB-INF/classes log4j.rootLogger=INFO, R log4j.logger.javax.servlet=DEBUG log4j.appender.R=org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender log4j.appender.R.File=${catalina.base}/logs/rails3.log log4j.appender.R.MaxFileSize=5036KB log4j.appender.R.MaxBackupIndex=4 log4j.appender.R.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout log4j.appender.R.layout.ConversionPattern=%d{dd MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss} [%t] %-5p %c %x - %m%n Restarted Tomcat Results Same as Attempt 2 NOTE: I used log4j.logger.javax.servlet=DEBUG because I read in the jruby-rack README that all logging output is automatically redirected to the javax.servlet.ServletContext#log method. So I though this would capture it. I was obviously wrong. Question Why didn't this work? Isn't Log4J using the commons_logging API? Attempt 3 - Tried out slf4j (WORKED) A bit uncertain as to why Attempt 2A didn't work, I thought to myself, maybe I can't use commons_logging for the jruby.rack.logging parameter because it's probably not using commons_logging API... (but I was still not sure). I saw slf4j as an option. I have never heard of it and by stroke of luck, I decided to look up what it is. After reading briefly about what it does, I thought it was good of a shot as any and decided to try it out following the instructions here. Continuing from the setup of Attempt 2A: Copied slf4j-api-1.6.1.jar and slf4j-simple-1.6.1.jar into my WEB-INF/lib folder I also copied slf4j-log4j12-1.6.1.jar into my WEB-INF/lib folder Restarted Tomcat And VIOLA! I now have logging information going into my rails3.log file. So the big question is: WTF? Even though logging seems to be working now, I'm really not sure if I did this right. So like I said earlier, I'm really looking for some validation more or less. I'd also appreciate any pointers/tips/advice if you have any. Thanks!

What's going on and how can I fix it? We're on ASP.NET 2.0, and I'm using http://stackoverflow.com/questions/549016/user-impersonation-with-asp-net-forms-authentication as a guide. UPDATE: It appears that the user actually is impersonated successfully but is loosing their Role as admin (only Admin Role's can access this impersonation page).

• counter variable not working?

  Just like many things in rails, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... Showing app/views/admin/products/_variant.html.erb where line #8 raised: undefined local variable or method `variant_counter' for #<ActionView::Base:0x107f7ae10> I only want to display variant_counter from partial _variant. This was the render caller code: <%= render :partial => '/admin/products/variant', :collection => product.variants %> The funny thing is, I have been using partial counter heaps number of times, somehow now I encountered this issue. Could anybody point me out what are there to find out what may went wrong?

  Hi, follow this question, I was able to set some textareas in my admin page as richtext inputs. The most voted answer suggests to follow an example and is what i did. Also, it talks about a problem concerning "blank pages". I'm having the same problem and I'm not able to solve it. I have my media files served by a different server, so MEDIA_URL points to a different host with a different port. To simulate this in my dev environment, I also serve media files from a different port. Debugging the failing javascript, Chrome yelds: Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://localhost:8000/admin/blog/post/add/ from frame with URL http://localhost:88/s3mangerie/js/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/image.htm. Domains, protocols and ports must match. How to solve this problem? Thanks

• Js/Jquery bind Datatable or Datalist

  Scenario I have a input box for post codes. When you put in a postcode it makes a call to a web service and gets all the suburb names back and binds them to a list, like an input dropdown list. This works when I return a List<string> from the web service for just the names. No problem. The problem arises when I go to save the values to the db. When it gets saved I cannot save the name of the suburb in the suburb column in the db. I have to save the id of that suburb for the foreign key constraint. So then I changed the List<> thing slighty and cheated and returned the following. <ArrayOfString> <string>8213</string> <string>BROOKFIELD</string> <string>8214</string> <string>CHAPEL HILL</string> <string>8215</string> <string>FIG TREE POCKET</string> etc.... The reason for this is so I can have the value of the item in the drop down as the id and hence can save that in the code behind on save. To do this, I did the following: $(result).each(function (index, value) { var suburbname; var pattern = new RegExp('[0-9*]'); var m = pattern.exec(value); if (m == null) { suburbname = value var o = new Option(suburbname, suburbid); /// jquerify the DOM object 'o' so we can use the html method $(o).html(suburbname); $(document.getElementById('<%= suburb.ClientID %>')).append($("<option></option>") .attr("value", suburbid) .text(suburbname)); } else { suburbid = value } That works as well... the drop down only has name and the value for those is the number The problem....? I am making assumptions above which I don't like... I.e. that the name never has a number it, that the web service will always return the id first to set the id before running the add to the dropdown for the first time. It just feels wrong.... :S (thoughts?) So, if I change the web service to return a datatable, to out the following (which is what the whole query returns): <Suburbs diffgr:id="Suburbs1" msdata:rowOrder="0"> <SuburbID>8213</SuburbID> <SuburbName>BROOKFIELD</SuburbName> <StateID>4</StateID> <StateCode>07</StateCode> <CountryCode>61</CountryCode> <TimeZones>10.00</TimeZones> <Postcode>4069</Postcode> </Suburbs> Is there a way of acheiving the same as above in js/jquery. So when the user inputs the postcode the webservice returns the datatable and then binds it to the select with the SuburbID going into the value and the name going into the text??? Note: essentially I need the option to look like this: <option value="8213">BROOKFIELD</option> I also thought I could make a second call to get just the id on the bind of the text... but I kind of want to only make one call.... • Views performance in MySQL

  I am currently writing my truly first PHP Application and i would like to know how to project/design/implement MySQL Views properly; In my particular case User data is spread across several tables (as a consequence of Database Normalization) and i was thinking to use a View to group data into one large table: CREATE VIEW `Users_Merged` ( name, surname, email, phone, role ) AS ( SELECT name, surname, email, phone, 'Customer' FROM `Customer` ) UNION ( SELECT name, surname, email, tel, 'Admin' FROM `Administrator` ) UNION ( SELECT name, surname, email, tel, 'Manager' FROM `manager` ); This way i can use the View's data from the PHP app easily but i don't really know how much this can affect performance. For example: SELECT * from `Users_Merged` WHERE role = 'Admin'; Is the right way to filter view's data or should i filter BEFORE creating the view itself? (I need this to have a list of users and the functionality to filter them by role).

• How can I authenticate when using the Bugzilla Perl API in a script?

  Working from the Bugzilla API, I've written a quick Perl script to clone a Bugzilla Product (recreating all the Components under their new Product). The Bugzilla Perl API is quite easy to use from the command line. I could have just worked on the database directly, but I wanted a longer-term solution. Another option was the webservice, but I thought I'd try using the API directly this time. The one problem I'm running into is authenticating as my Bz admin user so I can create the new components. Looking at Bugzilla's Bugzilla.pm file, I see that they just run login() from a Bugzilla::Auth object. I'm not sure how to get the username and password in there. I suppose I could just add the script to the Bugzilla admin interface... Can any of you point me in the right direction?

• Windows 7 sharing data between users via the registry

  Where can I create/modify/delete registry keys to share data between users in the Windows 7 registry? Both of the users are non administrators and it shouldn't require admin privileges. The application I'm working on uses the registry to write a key from userA and then userB can read/modify/delete it. Neither user has admin privileges and it won't be possible to change this. Is there an official MSDN guide to how to use the registry in Windows 7? Any links describing proper use of the registry would be useful.

• Inline Form Validation in Django

  Newbie request that seems difficult to implement. I would like to make an entire inline formset within an admin change form compulsory.. so in my current scenario when I hit save on an Invoice form (in Admin) the inline Order form is blank. I'd like to stop people creating invoices with no orders associated. Anyone know an easy way to do that? Normal validation like (required=True) on the model field doesn't appear to work in this instance. Thanks!!
