Is there any way we can find any if A or B or C using 2 differences Diff1 and Diff2? I know XOR is not reversible unless you know the key, but keeping in view that unsigned __int8 is 0...255 maximum 256 different values. stay well.

• How do you energize yourself when working alone on a project?

  I am working in an environment with a very small team (3 developers only) and each of us have been assigned a different project, without counting support tasks. I know this is a bad business practice and that we should all work on a single project at a time, and then move on to the next one (Already explained to the management on how much it sucks). So don't answer me that we should work all together on one project at a time. Energizing the work when in a team is mostly pair programming we did that when less project were thrown at us and that was great. What I would like to know is how you energize your work when working alone on a project. Do you follow any particular practice?

• C# Reading and Writing a Char[] to and from a Byte[]

  Hi, I have a byte array of around 10,000 bytes which is basically a blob from delphi that contains char, string, double and arrays of various types. This need to be read in and updated via C#. I've created a very basic reader that gets the byte array from the db and converts the bytes to the relevant object type when accessing the property which works fine. My problem is when I try to write to a specific char[] item, it doesn't seem to update the byte array. I know a possible solution is to use a private variable called _usercaplas that I set and update as needed however as the byte array is nearly 10,000 bytes in length the class is already long and I would like a simpler approach as to reduce the overall code length and complexity.   Lets assume I have two tables Table tA ID ID2 SomeColumns Table tB ID ID2 SomeOtherColumns I am looking to create a Object let's call it ObjectA (based on tA), that will have a one-to-many relationship to ObjectB (based on tB). In my example however, I need to use the combination of ID and ID2 as the foreign key. If I was writing SQL it would look like this: select tB.* from tA, tB where tA.ID = tB.ID and tA.ID2 = tB.ID2; I know that for each ID/ID2 combination in tA I should have many rows in tB, therefor I know it's a one-to-many combination. Clearly the below set is not sufficient for such mapping as it only takes one key into account. <set name="A2" table="A2" generic="true" inverse="true" > <key column="ID" /> <one-to-many class="A2" /> </set> Thanks!

  How can I best implement a system for send keystrokes/commands via an iPhone and/or Droid to a desktop or laptop computer via WiFi or bluetooth? There are apps for VLC, Keynote and other applications that do this, so I know it's possible but don't know what technology base to use. The implementation is probably different on Windows and OS X, but if they could be similar that'd be a big win. If VNC-type technology is used, that'd be fine but I only need to send key commands and mouse clicks—I don't need to be able to navigate the screen space.

  Hi folks, I recently wrote a simple and tiny embedded HTTP server for my C++ app (QT) and I played a little bit with Ry's http-parser and loved it. This guy is crazy. So I told to myself: "Hey! Why not port the django template engine to C?" That'd be awesome! I know, it won't be an easy task (not at all, I know) but I'd really love to implement this. So I came here for inspiration, ideas, opinions... I'd really love to have some pointers on the subject, ideas, what is already done, which major problems I'll encounter (and how to solve them) - How not to reinvent the wheel... anyway, you got the idea :) Thanks a million times! • Limiting the size of the managed heap in a C# application

  Can I configure my C# application to limit its memory consumption to, say, 200MB? IOW, I don't want to wait for the automatic GC (which seems to allow the heap to grow much more than actually needed by this application). I know that in Java there's a command line switch you can pass to the JVM that achieves this.. is there an equivalent in C#? p.s. I know that I can invoke the GC from code, but that's something I would rather not have to do periodically. I'd rather set it once upon startup somehow and forget it.

  Can't find a simple solution to this, I know it's easy and I've tried a few things but I can't quite get it to work. I'm currently working with a sidescrolling site and I want every time you click an image (contained in an li) it scrolls to the next li. I have jQuery plugin localscroll so it smoothly goes from one to the next, and that's working. I need to now write a code that triggers jQuery to utilize the localscroll function and go to the next li.   The network interfaces on Android interfaces are listed as directories in the file system in /sys/class/net/. For most Android devices the network interface for gprs traffic is called rmnet0 and for Wi-Fi it's usually eth0 or tiwlan0. I suspect that the cell interface for the Motorola CLIQ is rmnet0, but I would like to have this confirmed + know the name of the Wi-Fi interface. Also it would be good to know the device id for this model. This is the value available as android.os.Build.DEVICE in the Java SDK. (E.g. T-Mobile G1 uses dream, Samsung Galaxy uses GT-I7500, and Motorolda Droid uses sholes.)

• Texture allocations being doubled in iPhone OpenGL ES

  The below couple lines are called 15 times during initialization. The tx-size is reported at 512 everytime, so this will allocate a 1mb image in memory 15 times, for a total of 15mb used.. However, I noticed instruments is reporting a total of 31 allocations! (15*2)+1 glTexImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, GL_RGBA, tx-size, tx-size, 0, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, spriteData); free(spriteData); Likewise in another area of my program that allocates 6 256x256x4 (256kB) textures.. I see 13 sitting there. (6*2)+1 Anyone know what's going on here? It seems like awful memory management, and I really hope it's my fault. Just to let everyone know, I'm on the simulator.

• How to Look Up Email by Full Name in Active Directory?

  I want to search for a user's email by using Active Directory. Available is the user's full name (ex. "John Doe" for the email with an email "[email protected]"). From what I've searched, this comes close to what I'm looking to do -- except that the Filter is set to "SAMAccountName", which is not what I have. Unless I'm misunderstanding, I just need to pick the right attribute and toss in the full name name in the same way. Unfortunately, I don't know what this attribute is, apparently no one has had to ask about searching for information in this manner, and that is a pretty big list (msdn * microsoft * com/en-us/library/ms675090(v=VS.85) * aspx, stackoverflow didn't let me link 2 hyperlinks because I don't have 10 rep) of attributes. Does anyone know how to obtain the user's email address through an Active Directory lookup by using the user's full name?

• Multiple xmlns attributes affect page performance?

  We are working on adding some Facebook Connect functionality to our site. Part of their requirements for FB Connect require adding several additional xmlns attributes to the html element. We are likely going to have 5 or 6 of their custom attributes by the time we're done, and I want to know if this will negatively affect our page performance. I.e. will these be additional resources that the browser has to download? I have checked in Firebug and I don't see additional requests, but I don't know if that is because requests are not made by the browser, or if Firebug simply doesn't track them.

• IIS7 - Specifying content-length header in ASP causes "connection reset" error

  I'm migrating a series of websites from an existing IIS5 server to a brand new IIS7 web server. One of the pages pulls a data file from a blob in the database and serves it to the end user: Response.ContentType = rs("contentType") Response.AddHeader "Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename=" & Trim(rs("docName"))&rs("suffix")' let the browser know the file name Response.AddHeader "Content-Length", cstr(rs("docsize"))' let the browser know the file size Testing this in the new IIS7 install, I get a "Connection Reset" error in both Internet Explorer and Firefox. The document is served up correctly if the Content-Length header is removed (but then the user won't get a useful progress bar). Any ideas on how to correct this; whether it be a server configuration option or via code? Thanks.

  I am currently writing my truly first PHP Application and i would like to know how to project/design/implement MySQL Views properly; In my particular case User data is spread across several tables (as a consequence of Database Normalization) and i was thinking to use a View to group data into one large table: CREATE VIEW `Users_Merged` ( name, surname, email, phone, role ) AS ( SELECT name, surname, email, phone, 'Customer' FROM `Customer` ) UNION ( SELECT name, surname, email, tel, 'Admin' FROM `Administrator` ) UNION ( SELECT name, surname, email, tel, 'Manager' FROM `manager` ); This way i can use the View's data from the PHP app easily but i don't really know how much this can affect performance. For example: SELECT * from `Users_Merged` WHERE role = 'Admin'; Is the right way to filter view's data or should i filter BEFORE creating the view itself? (I need this to have a list of users and the functionality to filter them by role).

  Hello Experts, i would be thankfull for an explanation what happens with HTTP(TCP/IP) transmissions when the server crashes unexpectedly, how does the client Browser (Firefox / IE) handle this event. What happens in the following two standard cases: Clients-actively sends data: The TCP/IP Connection has been estableshed and the Client (Web-Browser) is Sending a POST Request with some data and in the middle of the process of sending the server crashes. What does this mean for the client? As far as I know TCP/IP does not "acknowledge" a send data-package so the client does not know that the server crashed. How will the client behave? (Firefox and Internet Explorer)? The Server is actively sending data: As above the tcp/ip connection has been established and the Server is sending a large website to the client (browser). In the middle of the sending-process the server crashes, so no futher packets are sent. How does the client browser react to this event (Firefox and Interne Expolrer) Thank you very much!! Jens
