  • How to show a server side error message in a popup using php

    - by Fero
    Hi all, I found some of the similar questions here but they are all in C#. So kindly tell me the easiest way to show the server side error message using popup. The popup may be anything like thickbox, modalpopup etc... Here is the sample code. I didn't get the error message in the popup. <script type="text/javascript" src="thickbox/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="thickbox/thickbox.js"></script> <link href="thickbox/thickbox.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <span class="prtexterror" style="color:#FF0000;display:none;" id="hiddenModalContent" >{$error_login}</span> {literal} <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { tb_show("Please, login", "?tb_inline=true&inlineId=hiddenModalContent&height=180&width=300&modal=true", null); }); </script> {/literal} Any other ways are always welcome. thanks in advance

  • Apache HttpClient 4.0. Weird behavior.

    - by Mikhail T
    Hello. I'm using Apache HttpClient 4.0 for my web crawler. The behavior i found strange is: i'm trying to get page via HTTP GET method and getting response about 404 HTTP error. But if i try to get that page using browser it's done successfully. Details: 1. I upload multipart form to server this way: HttpPost httpPost = new HttpPost("http://[host here]/in.php"); MultipartEntity entity = new MultipartEntity(HttpMultipartMode.BROWSER_COMPATIBLE); entity.addPart("method", new StringBody("post")); entity.addPart("key", new StringBody("223fwe0923fjf23")); FileBody fileBody = new FileBody(new File("photo.jpg"), "image/jpeg"); entity.addPart("file", fileBody); httpPost.setEntity(entity); HttpResponse response = httpClient.execute(httpPost); HttpEntity result = response.getEntity(); String responseString = ""; if (result != null) { InputStream inputStream = result.getContent(); byte[] buffer = new byte[1024]; while(inputStream.read(buffer) > 0) responseString += new String(buffer); result.consumeContent(); } Uppload succefully ends. I'm getting some results from web server: HttpGet httpGet = new HttpGet("http://[host here]/res.php?key="+myKey+"&action=get&id="+id); HttpResponse response = httpClient.execute(httpGet); HttpEntity entity = response.getEntity(); I'm getting ClientProtocolException while execute method run. I was debugging this situation with log4j. Server answers "404 Not Found". But my browser loads me that page with no problem. Can anybody help me? Thank you.

  • Dynamic Array traversal in PHP

    - by Kristoffer Bohmann
    I want to build a hierarchy from a one-dimensional array and can (almost) do so with a more or less hardcoded code. How can I make the code dynamic? Perhaps with while(isset($array[$key])) { ... }? Or, with an extra function? Like this: $out = my_extra_traverse_function($array,$key); function array_traverse($array,$key=NULL) { $out = (string) $key; $out = $array[$key] . "/" . $out; $key = $array[$key]; $out = $array[$key] ? $array[$key] . "/" . $out : ""; $key = $array[$key]; $out = $array[$key] ? $array[$key] . "/" . $out : ""; $key = $array[$key]; $out = $array[$key] ? $array[$key] . "/" . $out : ""; return $out; } $a = Array(102=>101, 103=>102, 105=>107, 109=>105, 111=>109, 104=>111); echo array_traverse($a,104); Output: 107/105/109/111/104

  • How do I authenticate regarding EJB3 Container ?

    - by FMR
    I have my business classes protected by EJB3 security annotations, now I would like to call these methods from a Spring controller, how do I do it? edit I will add some information about my setup, I'm using Tomcat for the webcontainer and OpenEJB for embedding EJB into tomcat. I did not settle on any version of spring so it's more or less open to suggestions. edit current setup works this way : I have a login form + controller that puts a User pojo inside SessionContext. Each time someone access a secured part of the site, the application checks for the User pojo, if it's there check roles and then show the page, if it's not show a appropriate message or redirect to login page. Now the bussiness calls are made thanks to a call method inside User which bypass a probable security context which is a remix of this code found in openejb security examples : Caller managerBean = (Caller) context.lookup("ManagerBeanLocal"); managerBean.call(new Callable() { public Object call() throws Exception { Movies movies = (Movies) context.lookup("MoviesLocal"); movies.addMovie(new Movie("Quentin Tarantino", "Reservoir Dogs", 1992)); movies.addMovie(new Movie("Joel Coen", "Fargo", 1996)); movies.addMovie(new Movie("Joel Coen", "The Big Lebowski", 1998)); List<Movie> list = movies.getMovies(); assertEquals("List.size()", 3, list.size()); for (Movie movie : list) { movies.deleteMovie(movie); } assertEquals("Movies.getMovies()", 0, movies.getMovies().size()); return null; } });

  • Tail recursion and memoization with C#

    - by Jay
    I'm writing a function that finds the full path of a directory based on a database table of entries. Each record contains a key, the directory's name, and the key of the parent directory (it's the Directory table in an MSI if you're familiar). I had an iterative solution, but it started looking a little nasty. I thought I could write an elegant tail recursive solution, but I'm not sure anymore. I'll show you my code and then explain the issues I'm facing. Dictionary<string, string> m_directoryKeyToFullPathDictionary = new Dictionary<string, string>(); ... private string ExpandDirectoryKey(Database database, string directoryKey) { // check for terminating condition string fullPath; if (m_directoryKeyToFullPathDictionary.TryGetValue(directoryKey, out fullPath)) { return fullPath; } // inductive step Record record = ExecuteQuery(database, "SELECT DefaultDir, Directory_Parent FROM Directory where Directory.Directory='{0}'", directoryKey); // null check string directoryName = record.GetString("DefaultDir"); string parentDirectoryKey = record.GetString("Directory_Parent"); return Path.Combine(ExpandDirectoryKey(database, parentDirectoryKey), directoryName); } This is how the code looked when I realized I had a problem (with some minor validation/massaging removed). I want to use memoization to short circuit whenever possible, but that requires me to make a function call to the dictionary to store the output of the recursive ExpandDirectoryKey call. I realize that I also have a Path.Combine call there, but I think that can be circumvented with a ... + Path.DirectorySeparatorChar + .... I thought about using a helper method that would memoize the directory and return the value so that I could call it like this at the end of the function above: return MemoizeHelper( m_directoryKeyToFullPathDictionary, Path.Combine(ExpandDirectoryKey(database, parentDirectoryKey)), directoryName); But I feel like that's cheating and not going to be optimized as tail recursion. Any ideas? Should I be using a completely different strategy? This doesn't need to be a super efficient algorithm at all, I'm just really curious. I'm using .NET 4.0, btw. Thanks!

  • XMLHttpRequest() and Google Analytics Tracking

    - by sjw
    I have implemented an XMLHttpRequest() call to a standalone html page which simply has an html, title & body tag which Google Analytics Tracking code. I want to track when someone makes a request to display information (i.e. phone number) to try and understand what portion of people look at my directory versus obtaining a phone number to make a call. It is very simple code: var xhReq = new XMLHttpRequest(); xhReq.open("GET", "/registerPhoneClick.htm?id=" + id, false); xhReq.send(null); var serverResponse = xhReq.responseText Yet I cannot see the "hit" in Analytics... Has anyone had this issue? All the analytics tracking code does is call: <script type="text/javascript"> var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www."); document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> try { var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-XXXXXXX"); pageTracker._trackPageview(); } catch(err) {}</script> So realistically, my XmlHTTPRequest() calls an htm file within which a script is execute to make an outbound call to Google Analytics. Is there any reason why an XmlHTTPRequest() would not execute this? Does an XmlHTTPRequest() still bring the code to the client before execution? Help Please

  • C# Process Binary File, Multi-Thread Processing

    - by washtik
    I have the following code that processes a binary file. I want to split the processing workload by using threads and assigning each line of the binary file to threads in the ThreadPool. Processing time for each line is only small but when dealing with files that might contain hundreds of lines, it makes sense to split the workload. My question is regarding the BinaryReader and thread safety. First of all, is what I am doing below acceptable. I have a feeling it would be better to pass only the binary for each line to the PROCESS_Binary_Return_lineData method. Please note the code below is conceptual. I looking for a but of guidance on this as my knowledge of multi-threading is in its infancy. Perhaps there is a better way to achieve the same result, i.e. split processing of each binary line. var dic = new Dictionary<DateTime, Data>(); var resetEvent = new ManualResetEvent(false); using (var b = new BinaryReader(File.Open(Constants.dataFile, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read, FileShare.Read))) { var lByte = b.BaseStream.Length; var toProcess = 0; while (lByte >= DATALENGTH) { b.BaseStream.Position = lByte; lByte = lByte - AB_DATALENGTH; ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(delegate { Interlocked.Increment(ref toProcess); var lineData = PROCESS_Binary_Return_lineData(b); lock(dic) { if (!dic.ContainsKey(lineData.DateTime)) { dic.Add(lineData.DateTime, lineData); } } if (Interlocked.Decrement(ref toProcess) == 0) resetEvent.Set(); }, null); } } resetEvent.WaitOne();

  • NSMutableArray Problem - iPhone

    - by David Schiefer
    Hi, I'm trying to get a UITableView to read it's data from a file. I've attempted it like this: NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains (NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *fullFileName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@/entries.plist", documentsDirectory]; self.dataForTable = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:fullFileName]; This compiles fine, but when saving something to the file in the following snippet, the file is not saved nor anything is written to the array: NSMutableDictionary*userDictionary; userDictionary = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; [userDictionary setObject:name.text forKey:@"name"]; [userDictionary setObject:email.text forKey:@"email"]; [userDictionary setObject:serial.text forKey:@"serial"]; [userDictionary setObject:notes.text forKey:@"notes"]; [userDictionary setObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:[licenseType selectedRowInComponent:0]] forKey:@"license_type"]; [userDictionary setObject:[date date] forKey:@"date"]; [userDictionary setObject:[NSNumber numberWithBool:[paymentSwitch isOn]] forKey:@"payment"]; NSString*dirToSaveTo = [NSHomeDirectory() stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"Documents"]; NSString*fileName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@.plist",name.text]; NSString*saveName = [dirToSaveTo stringByAppendingPathComponent:fileName]; [userDictionary writeToFile:saveName atomically:NO]; NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains (NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *fullFileName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@/entries.plist", documentsDirectory]; [self.dataForTable addObject:name.text]; NSLog(@"%@",self.dataForTable); [self.dataForTable writeToFile:fullFileName atomically:YES]; The NSLog just returns (null). The *plist file is never written. What am I doing wrong?

  • How do I set up FirePHP version 1.0?

    - by jay
    I love FirePHP and I've been using it for a while, but they've put out this massive upgrade and I'm completely flummoxed trying to get it to work. I think I'm copying the "Quick Start" code (kind of guessing at whatever changes are necessary for my server configuration), but for some reason, FirePHP's "primary" function, FirePHP::to() isn't doing anything. • WPF RadioButton selected in UI, but seen by code as IsChecked == false

    - by Mike
    I have some radio buttons in a group box. I select the buttons randomly, and all works perfectly from a visual standpoint and also the event handler is called each time a new button is selected. Now I have a dependency property with a callback when the value changes. When in this callback procedure I read the IsChecked value of any button, the value is False, in spite the button is visually selected (they are all false at the same time, strange). The debugger also displays all buttons unchecked. Hu hu, I'm lacking ideas about the reason, after the basic verifications... <GroupBox> <StackPanel> <RadioButton x:Name="btNone" Content="Disconnected" IsChecked="True" Checked="OnSelChecked"/> <RadioButton x:Name="btManual" Content="Manual" Checked="OnSelChecked"/> </StackPanel> </GroupBox> Event handler: private void OnSelChecked(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { if (btManual.IsChecked == true) { // is called } } Dependency property: public static readonly DependencyProperty ManualProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("Manual", typeof(Position), typeof(SwitchBox), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata(null, FrameworkPropertyMetadataOptions.AffectsRender, new PropertyChangedCallback(OnManualChanged))); Dependency property callback: private static void OnManualChanged(DependencyObject sender, DependencyPropertyChangedEventArgs args) { SwitchBox box = sender as SwitchBox; if (box.btManual.IsChecked == true) { // never true, why?? } }

  • Problem with relative file path

    So here is my program, which works ok: import java.io.FileReader; import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.IOException; import java.util.Scanner; import java.util.Locale; public class ScanSum { public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException { Scanner s = null; double sum = 0; try { s = new Scanner(new BufferedReader(new FileReader("D:/java-projects/HelloWorld/bin/usnumbers.txt"))); s.useLocale(Locale.US); while (s.hasNext()) { if (s.hasNextDouble()) { sum += s.nextDouble(); } else { s.next(); } } } finally { s.close(); } System.out.println(sum); } } As you can see, I am using absolute path to the file I am reading from: s = new Scanner(new BufferedReader(new FileReader("D:/java-projects/HelloWorld/bin/usnumbers.txt"))); The problem arises when I try to use the relative path: s = new Scanner(new BufferedReader(new FileReader("usnumbers.txt"))); I get an error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException at ScanSum.main(ScanSum.java:24) The file usnumbers.txt is in the same directory as the ScanSum.class file: D:/java-projects/HelloWorld/bin/ScanSum.class D:/java-projects/HelloWorld/bin/usnumbers.txt How could I solve this?

    I have a NUnit test class that starts an ASP.NET web service (using Microsoft.VisualStudio.WebHost.Server) which runs on http://localhost:1070 The problem I am having is that I want to create a session state within the NUnit test that is accessible by the ASP.NET web service on localhost:1070. • MySql too many connections

    - by MichaelMcCabe
    I hate to bring up a question which is widely asked on the web, but I cant seem to solve it. I started a project a while back and after a month of testing, I hit a "Too many connections" error. I looked into it, and "Solved" it by increasing the max_connections. This then worked. Since then more and more people started to use it, and it hit again. When I am the only user on the site, i type "show processlist" and it comes up with about 50 connections which are still open (saying "Sleep" in the command). Now, I dont know enough to speculate why these are open, but in my code I tripple checked and every connection I open, I close. ie. public int getSiteIdFromName(String name, String company)throws DataAccessException,java.sql.SQLException{ Connection conn = this.getSession().connection(); Statement smt = conn.createStatement(); ResultSet rs=null; String query="SELECT id FROM site WHERE name='"+name+"' and company_id='"+company+"'"; rs=smt.executeQuery(query); rs.next(); int id=rs.getInt("id"); rs.close(); smt.close(); conn.close(); return id; } Every time I do something else on the site, another load of connections are opened and not closed. Is there something wrong with my code? and if not, what could be the problem?

  • How to get MySQL database to appear on index.php

    - by Teddy Truong
    Hi, I have a submission form on my website (index.php) and I have the data(user submissions) being stored into a MySQL database. Right now, I have the user submitting a post and then the page directs them to an update.php which shows what they inputed. However, I want all of the data in the database in MySQL to be shown on the index.php. It's a lot like a comment system. User submits a post... and sees their post above the other submitted posts all on the same page. I think I'm missing AJAX... ? Here is the code for index.php <div align="center"> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2 align="center" class="Title"><em><strong>REDACTED</strong></em></h2> <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="update.php"> <hr /> <label><br /> <form action="update.php" method="post"> REDACTED: <input type="text" name="text" /> <input type="submit" /> </form> </label> </form> </div> On update.php I have this: ?php $text = $_POST['text']; $myString = "REDACTED"; mysql_connect ("db----.net", "-----3", "------------") or die ('Error: ' . mysql_error()); mysql_select_db ("-----------"); $query="INSERT INTO TextArea (ID, text) VALUES ('NULL', '".$text."')"; mysql_query($query) or die ('Error updating database'); echo " $myString "," $text "; ?> Thanks a lot!

  • Switch/case without break inside DllMain

    - by Sherwood Hu
    I have a Dllmain that allocates Thread local storage when a thread attaches to this DLL. Code as below: BOOL APIENTRY DllMain(HMODULE hModule, DWORD ul_reason_for_call, LPVOID lpReserved) { LPVOID lpvData; BOOL fIgnore; switch (ul_reason_for_call) { case DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH: onProcessAttachDLL(); // Allocate a TLS index. if ((dwTlsIndex = TlsAlloc()) == TLS_OUT_OF_INDEXES) return FALSE; // how can it jump to next case??? case DLL_THREAD_ATTACH: // Initialize the TLS index for this thread. lpvData = (LPVOID) LocalAlloc(LPTR, MAX_BUFFER_SIZE); if (lpvData != NULL) fIgnore = TlsSetValue(dwTlsIndex, lpvData); break; ... } I know that for the main thread, the DLL_THREAD_ATTACH is not entered, as per Microsoft Documentation. However, the above code worked. I am using VC2005. When I entered the debugger, I saw that after it entered DLL_THREAD_ATTACH case when ul_reason_for_call = 1! How can that happen? If I add `break' at the end of DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH block, the DLL failed to work. How can this happen?

  • C# Attribute XmlIgnore and XamlWriter class - XmlIgnore not working

    - by Horst Walter
    I have a class, containing a property Brush MyBrush marked as [XmlIgnore]. Nevertheless it is serialized in the stream causing trouble when trying to read via XamlReader. I did some tests, e.g. when changing the visibility (to internal) of the Property it is gone in the stream. Unfortunately I cannot do this in my particular scenario. Did anybody have the same issue and? Do you see any way to work around this? Remark: C# 4.0 as far I can tell This is a method from my Unit Test where I do test the XamlSerialization: // buffer to a StringBuilder StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); XmlWriter writer = XmlWriter.Create(sb, settings); XamlDesignerSerializationManager manager = new XamlDesignerSerializationManager(writer) {XamlWriterMode = XamlWriterMode.Expression}; XamlWriter.Save(testObject, manager); xml = sb.ToString(); Assert.IsTrue(!String.IsNullOrEmpty(xml) && !String.IsNullOrEmpty(xml), "Xaml Serialization failed for " + testObject.GetType() + " no xml string available"); xml = sb.ToString(); MemoryStream ms = xml.StringToStream(); object root = XamlReader.Load(ms); Assert.IsTrue(root != null, "After reading from MemoryStream no result for Xaml Serialization"); In one of my classes I use the Property Brush. In the above code this Unit Tests fails because of a Brush object not serializable is the value. When I remove the Setter (as below, the Unit Test passes. Using the XmlWriter (basically same test as above) it works. In the StringBuffer sb I can see that Property Brush is serialized when the Setter is there and not when removed (most likely another check ignoring the Property because of no setter). Other Properties with [XmlIgnore] are ignored as intended. [XmlIgnore] public Brush MyBrush { get { ..... } // removed because of problem with Serialization // set { ... } }

  • PHP: retrieve all declared namespaces of a DOMElement

    - by soulmerge
    I am using the DOM extension to parse an xml file containing xml namespaces. I would have that namespace declarations are treated just like any other attribute, but my tests seem to disagree. I have a document that starts like this: <rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#" xmlns="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/" xmlns:taxo="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/taxonomy/" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:syn="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/syndication/" xmlns:prism="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/prism/" xmlns:admin="http://webns.net/mvcb/" > And a test code like this: $doc = new DOMDocument(); $doc->loadXml(file_get_contents('/home/soulmerge/tmp/rss1.0/recent.xml')); $root = $doc->documentElement; var_dump($root->tagName); # prints 'string(7) "rdf:RDF"' var_dump($root->attributes->item(0)); # prints 'NULL' var_dump($root->getAttributeNode('xmlns')); # prints 'object(DOMNameSpaceNode)#3 (0) {}' So the questions are: Does anyone know where could I find the documentation of DOMNameSpaceNode? A search on php.net does not yield any useful result. How do I extract all those namespace declarations from that DOMElement?

  • Programming style question on how to code functions

    - by shawnjan
    Hey all! So, I was just coding a bit today, and I realized that I don't have much consistency when it comes to a coding style when programming functions. One of my main concerns is whether or not its proper to code it so that you check that the input of the user is valid OUTSIDE of the function, or just throw the values passed by the user into the function and check if the values are valid in there. Let me sketch an example: I have a function that lists hosts based on an environment, and I want to be able to split the environment into chunks of hosts. So an example of the usage is this: listhosts -e testenv -s 2 1 This will get all the hosts from the "testenv", split it up into two parts, and it is displaying part one. In my code, I have a function that you pass it in a list, and it returns a list of lists based on you parameters for splitting. BUT, before I pass it a list, I first verify the parameters in my MAIN during the getops process, so in the main I check to make sure there are no negatives passed by the user, I make sure the user didnt request to split into say, 4 parts, but asking to display part 5 (which would not be valid), etc. tl;dr: Would you check the validity of a users input the flow of you're MAIN class, or would you do a check in your function itself, and either return a valid response in the case of valid input, or return NULL in the case of invalid input? Obviously both methods work, I'm just interested to hear from experts as to which approach is better :) Thanks for any comments and suggestions you guys have!
