• Error connecting to exchange mailbox using WebDav

  We have a windows service that uses the “WebDAV .NET for Exchange” libraries to access the mail server. The WebDav libraries attempts to access the mailbox to process mails. The Error occurs on attempting to retrieve the mailbox contents.   Hi! Does anyone has some example about accessing Active Directory, LDAP querying using WMI (System.Management namespace) and not System.DirectoryServices namespace. Here on MSDN page it is described a little using CIM classes http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa392320(v=VS.85).aspx But I cant find some C# example realizing it. This would require all key strokes to be tracked, and any other small changes like GUI UI editing. This seems like it would be a very useful tool for a programmer trying to remember a fix he did an hour ago that they didn't manually commit.

• Uploading image file from website on yahoo server causes 410 gone error message when trying to acces

  I have a form that lets users upload a photo of themselves. This seems to work. The photo does exist on the server once uploaded. When I try to access the file I get a "403 forbidden - you don't have permission to access this url on this sever" and also I get "Additionally, a 410 Gone error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."   I have swf that loads swf, which loads another swf(video player). • sscanf + c99 not working on some platforms ?

  When I compile a simple Hello World! program that uses the sscanf function on my local Debian lenny x64, it works. But when I upload the same program to the server running CentOS x86, it will not work. If I do not use sscanf, then the program works on both computers. gcc -std=c99 -O2 -pipe -m32 If I compile it with sscanf but without -std=c99, then it works on both computers. gcc -O2 -pipe -m32 What is the problem with sscanf and c99 on CentOS x86 ? I thought that compiling with the -m32 flag would work on all Linuxes ? (I have limited access to the CentOS server, so I do not have access to error messages.)

• Rails, REST Architecture and HTML 5: Cross domain requests with pre-flight requests

  While working on a project to make our site HTML 5 friendly, we were eager to embrace the new method for Cross Domain requests (no more posting through hidden iframes!!!). Using the Access Control specification we begin setting up some tests to verify the behaviour of various browsers. The current Rails RESTful architecture relies on the four HTTP verbs: GET, POST, PUT, DELETE. However in the Access Control spec, it dictates that non-simple methods (PUT, DELETE) require a pre-flight request using the HTTP verb OPTIONS. In addition during testing we discovered that Firefox 3.5.8 pre-flight POST requests as well. My question is this. Is anyone aware of any project for the Rails framework working to address the issue? If not, any opinions about the best strategy to support the OPTIONS method, since it has to support the routes for all the POST, PUT, DELETE methods?

• Consuming Web Services requiring Authentication from behind Proxy server

  Hi All, I've seen a number of post about Proxy Authentication, but none that seams to address this problem. I'm building a SharePoint Web Service consuming desktop application, using Java, JAX-WS in NetBeans. I have a working prototype, that can query the server for authentication mode, successfully authenticate and retrieve a list of web site. However, if I run the same app from a network that is behind a proxy server (the proxy does not require authentication), then I'm running into trouble. The normal -dhttp.proxyHost ... settings does not seam to help any. But I have found that by creating a ProxySelector class and setting it as default, I can regain access to the authentication web service, but I still can't retrieve the list of web sites from the SharePoint server. It's almost as if the authentication I provide is going to the proxy rather than the SharePoint server. Anyone have any experience on how to make this work? • mysql: how to set max_allowed_packet for shared hosting?

  Hello, I need to set (increase) max_allowed_packet. But the problem is I am using a shared hosting. So, I can not access the .ini or .cnf file. Also I can not use the SET command. How can I am able to set a value (actually increase) for the max_allowed_packet, without asking the hosting support. I have no SSH access there. EDIT: I am trying to use VB 4.0.3. In there the attachment size is limited by it. So, I do not think splitting the file can be an option in this case. Thank you Sadi

• what is the global.asax Application_Start equivalent when using WAS in IIS7

  Hi I'd like to use the netTcpBinding for my WCF application which is currently hosted in IIS7, which means configuring it to use WAS instead. This is fairly straight forward however, my application previously made use of the Application_Start event in the global.asax file. I do not require access to the httpContext(which I understand access has been removed in IIS7), however I would still like to hook into the start or init methods? Does an equivalent exist when hosting an application in WAS as apposed to IIS7? Using classic mode is not an option(again I'm not interested in the httpcontext and this only appears to work if using an http binding) - and I've seen an example of putting a static class instide the app_code folder which looks like a horrible hack.

• IIS6 Problems with ASP.NET MVC.

  Hello, I have a ASP.NET MVC page. I Configured a IIS Website and added the additonal H:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll. my Directory Structure is like that / ../App_data/ ../bin/ ../Content/ ../Properties/ ../Scripts/ ../Views/ ../Default.aspx ../Global.asax ../Web.config My page is configured to port 9090. If i try to access the page i get the "default" Page. But if i try to access any other page than the //myServer:9090 like //myServer:9090/home (which is the default method in my HomeController) i get a "page not found" error page. For me it looks like he does'nt execute the assambly. In the Debbuging Server all runs nice. What could be the Problem? P.S: If i forgort something pls ask for! thanks!

• HttpWebRequest socket operation during WPF binding in a property getter

  In a property getter of a C# class I am doing a HTTP GET using HttpWebRequest to some https address. WPF's property binding seems to choke on this. If I try to access the property in a simple method e.g. Button_Clicked, it works perfectly. If I use WPF binding to access the same property, the app seems to be blocked on a socket's recv() method indefinitely. Is it a no-no to do this sort of thing during binding? Is app in some special state during binding? Is there an easy way for me to overcome this limitation and still maintain the same basic idea?

• Accessing HTTP status code while using WCF client for accessing RESTful services

  Thanks to this answer, I am now able to successfully call a JSON RESTful service using a WCF client. But that service uses HTTP status codes to notify the result. I am not sure how I can access those status codes since I just receive an exception on client side while calling the service. Even the exception doesn't have HTTP status code property. It is just buried in the exception message itself. So the question is, how to check/access the HTTP status code of response when the service is called.

  is it possible to access a static property of a COM object without creating an instance of the object? my situation is this: i have an unmanaged application (written in delphi). this application exposes a COM-based plugininterface. until now i only wrote managed plugins in c#. plugins provide their info (name, author, ..) via a static property that returns an instance of PluginInfo (which implements IPluginInfo). this static property i can access on the managed plugins using http://managedvcl.com. now i want to write unmanaged plugins on the same interface. i can load them using: plug := CreateComObject(TGuid) as IMyPlugInterface; and they run, but i don't know how to read out their PluginInfo. so the question again is: is there another way than implementing IPluginInfo in the plugin-class and only accessing the info after i have created an instance of the plugin?

  Hi guys. I'm working through examples from a book on php/mysql development. I'm working on a linux/apache environment. I've set up a database and a user. I attempt to connect with this line of code: $db_server = mysql_connect($db_hostname, $db_username, $db_password); I get this error: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'www-data'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /var/www/hosts/dj/connect.php on line 3 unable to connect to database: Access denied for user 'www-data'@'localhost' (using password: YES) I can only guess what is happening here: I think www-data is a username for apache. Upon the database connection, the credentials being passed in to mysql are not those of my database user, but rather apache's own credentials. Is that what is happening here? How do I pass in the credentials I've defined for my user ?

  Hi, I have a home server, on which I have installed Apache, and several other applications that have a Web GUI (JDownloader, Free Download Manager). In order to access each of these apps (whether be it from the local network or the Internet), I have to enter a different port, e.g., http:// server:8085 or http:// xxxx.dyndns.org:8085 for Apache, http:// server:90 or http:// xxxx.dyndns.org:90 for FDM, http:// server:8081 or http:// xxxx.dyndns.org:8081 for JDownloader. I would like to be able to access them using sub-domains, e.g, http:// apache.server or http:// apache.xxxx.dyndns.org for Apache, http:// fdm.server or http:// fdm.xxxx.dyndns.org for FDM, http:// jdownloader.server or http:// jdownloader.xxxx.dyndns.org for JDownloader. First of all, would it be possible like I want it, i.e., both from LAN and Internet, and if yes, how? I have an http handler that listens in to the requests and does what it needs to do. Problems start when in the handler I need to access information stored in the page , from where the asynchronous call started. • How can I block based on URL (from address bar) in a safari extension

  I'm trying to write an extension that will block access to (configurable) list of URLs if they are accessed more than N times per hour. From what I understand, I need to have a start script pass a "should I load this" message to a global HTML page (who can access the settings object to get the list of URLs), who will give a thumbs up/thumbs down message back to the start script to deny/allow loading. That works out fine for me, but when I use the usual beforeLoad/canLoad handlers, I get messages for all the sub-items that need to be loaded (images/etc..), which screws up the #accesses/hour limit I'm trying to make. Is there a way to synchronously pass messages back and forth between the two sandboxes so I can tell the global HTML page, "this is the URL in the window bar and the timestamp for when this request came in", so I can limit duplicate requests?   I have tester.php file which I want to run on the browser and I have created symlink to it in my public_html folder, but still when I try to run it, its not working and gives me following error message. Access forbidden! You don't have permission to access the requested object. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server. If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. • Adobe Color Profiles/Color Spaces, how is it possible that this works?

  I'm learning about Color Profiles/Color Spaces/Monitor Color Management Profiles and I was just wondering how any of that justified considering the fact that I could throw the entire color anything off by adjusting the brightness and contrast of my monitor? Additionally there are things like lighting in the place where your monitor resides. I don't understand what makes it possible to know that the colors that you are looking at on your monitor are accurate. I really don't have any idea where to start (considering I obviously can't even get the terminology right in the first place...:-p)
