• wpf - Which one is better? Style or User Control?

  Hello, I wanted to know which one amongst Style and UserControl would be better to use in WPF? For example: I have created an image button in two different ways. One uses Style and ContentTemplate property is set. It uses one other class with dependency properties. The other way is i have created a UserControl which has a button and its content property is set. UserControl.xaml.cs file also contains the dependency properties. • Project Idea with Hadoop MapReduce

  Hello, I learnt Hadoop a few months back and managed to do a very introductory programming project on it. I want to do a small - medium sized project or series of small programming assignments with Hadoop. I have seen lot of ideas around but I dont see anything that can be finished in about 60-70 hours of work so a pretty small scale project as I want to do that in my spare time along with other studies. Most project ideas I have seen sort of large to go on for 2-3 months. My main objective out of this exercise to develop good expertise in programming with Hadoop environment not to do any research or solve specific problems. So suppose that ActionA sets a variable groups and get_menu also uses a groups variable... ActionA's variable will overtake get_menu's variable. I tried many solutions and even jsp:inculde doesnt help:(...

  Hello! Please, don't judge strictly if this question was discussed previously or indirectly answered in huge nearby prism and mvvm blogs. In WPF implementation of RelayCommand or DelegateCommand classes there is a such eventhandler /// <summary> /// Occurs whenever the state of the application changes such that the result of a call to <see cref="CanExecute"/> may return a different value. /// </summary> public event EventHandler CanExecuteChanged { add { CommandManager.RequerySuggested += value; } remove { CommandManager.RequerySuggested -= value; } } but in SL subset of namespaces there are no CommandManager class. And this is where I'm stuck. I haven't yet found an workaround for this in MVVM adoptation for SL (PRISM is so complex for me yet). Different simple HelloWorldMVVM apps don't deal with at all.   Hello. I have a Python script that reads a file (typically from optical media) marking the unreadable sectors, to allow a re-attempt to read said unreadable sectors on a different optical reader. I discovered that my script does not work with block devices (e.g. /dev/sr0), in order to create a copy of the contained ISO9660/UDF filesystem, because os.stat().st_size is zero. The algorithm currently needs to know the filesize in advance; I can change that, but the issue (of knowing the block device size) remains, and it's not answered here, so I open this question. (about non-special files) Therefore, I'm asking: in Python, how can I get the file size of a block device file?

  Hello, I'm wondering if anyone can help me understand some asynchronous javascript concepts... Say I make an asynch ajax call like so: xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange= myFoo; xmlhttp.open("GET",url,true); Here is my callback function: function myFoo() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4) { if (xmlhttp.status==200) { // Success message } else { // some error message } } } Now, where and when does the execution path start again? Once I make the call to open(), does execution continue directly below the open() and another "thread" enters the asynch function once the ajax request has been completed? Or, does the browser wait for the request to complete, make the Asynch call, and then execution continues right after the open? Thanks!

  Hello all. I am following the the tutorial at http://www.py2exe.org/index.cgi/Tutorial to figure out how to use py2exe. I get down to step 3 where you are suppose to run the command: python setup.py py2exe I do that and then I get this error: 'python' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I have python 2.4 installed on my machine. any idea's? I am sure it is something simple.

  Hello all, I have an array for instance, Array { 3.0 at Index 0 2.0 at Index 1 3.5 at Index 2 1.0 at Index 4 } I would like to get sort it in ascending order without losing the index in the first place, like this, Array { 1.0 at Index 4 2.0 at Index 1 3.0 at Index 0 3.5 at Index 2 } When I sort the array using this, NSArray *sortedArray = [hArray sortedArrayUsingSelector:@selector(caseInsensitiveCompare:)]; [knnRecog sortUsingDescriptors:[NSArray arrayWithObject:sortAsc]]; I lose the index. Does anyone know a way to preserve the index after sorting the array? Thanks

  Hi, I'm trying to build a java application with gcj but getting the error below. multiple definition of `java resource .dummy' gcj versions are 4.4.1 on Ubuntu and 4.3.4 on cygwin/windows XP and I'm building it with gcj --main=my.MainClass --classpath=my my/*java Anyone seen this or know a workaround without installing an earlier version of gcj. If that is the way to do it does anyone know how to do that on cygwin or will I have to build it?   Hello, I have a Java application and I want to implement an Undo/Redo option. the value that I want to stock and that I want to be able to recover is an integer. My Class Model implements the interface StateEditable and I have to redefine the 2 functions restoreState(Hashtable<?, ?> state) and storeState(Hashtable<Object, Object> state) but I don't know what to put on them. It will be really great if somebody can help me to do that.   Hello there. I have a question on the java applet.I've created a java applet,which is a board game,that can have a 2*2 array with row number and column number both set to 9 by default. Now I want to extend my applet a bit,that the user can specify the size they want on the command-line,then the applet class will create an applet with correspoding size. I try to add a constructor in the applet class,but the Eclipse complains,I also tried another class,which will create an instance of this applet with size as an instance variable,but it is not working. Could anyone help me a little bit on where to put a main() method that can take care of user-specified board sized,then create an array in my applet class accordingly? Thanks a lot. Rob

  Hello, Let say I have a BitmapData with different pixels representing an object, and some black pixels around it that I want to remove. I would like to obtain a new BitmapData, with width and height of the object represented by non-black pixels. For example, let say I have a BitmapData 400x400px, but the object represented by non-black pixels occupies the rect: x=100, y=100, width=200, height=200. I want to get new BitmapData representing that rect, all black pixels should be removed. Any idea on how to do this please ?

  Hello, I am currently working on some jQuery - it works perfectly when I uses .html but when I changed the method to .load and attempt to load a page in breaks the jquery on the rest of the page. • Saving Blob data from SQLite database to a file

  Hello, I'm trying to save blob data from a SQLite database (Safari cache: Cache.db) to a file, but for some reason sqlite won't read the whole blob. I eventually would like to do this in ruby, but for now something that works directly in sqlite command prompt is fine. Also, I've read all of the entries that talk about this here on stackoverflow, but most of them only discuss the performance of saving images in blobs and the one entry that does show to save blobs to file is in C# which does not help me. This button has a left and right margin that is equal to the tableView margin: UIButton *deleteButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect]; deleteButton.frame = CGRectMake(10, 60, 300, 34); deleteButton.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth I'm adding autoresizingMask because I want to support rotation. However, it does not work as I want, as the button stretches all the way down to the right, as shown by the image below. Any idea how to fix it? If I remove the autosizing property then the margin is correct.

• How can I modify objects inside frames with AS3 in a permanent way?

  I have a MovieClip symbol created with flash in a fla file library. There is a textfield in frame one of this movieclip's timeline . There is another frame in the movieclip timeline. There is a custon class definition for this symbol. It is a flipping card in a memory game. I access the textfield by going to frame 2 (gotoAndStop(2)) and setting the textfield's text property ( this.field.text = "hello" ). However if I go to frame 1 and then return to frame 2, the text becomes the original one in the library's symbol. I have to modify the text propery again in a showFace method I've written. Besides, I cannot pass parameters in the constructor because it is a symbol in the library and that would give errors. I find this behaviour of flash extremely weird. Is there a way I can set properties inside frames permanently? Thank you

How is your approach if you face a problem like above. Since openssl encrypt all of data that is sent to SSL_write function (CMIIW). Thanks

I've looked at many - the WPF one, XCeed, Ingragistics, DevExpress, etc.... but none of them seem to offer the simple requirement I have: I want to be able to display group subtotals in their columns in the group row, e.g. GROUP 1 xxxx.xx GROUP 2 xxxx.xx ROW 1 xx.xx ROW 2 xx.xx Does anyone know of a grid that does this, or a nice supporting collection that implements aggregate functions (group totals would need to be used in individual line items) so that existing grids with a bit of XAML styling would work?   Hello, The question I'm asking is kind of subjective. I've seen twice, while exercising with real projects such as StoreFront, both Repository and Services. Sometimes they can just be folders or projects attached to the solution. But they contain classes and interfaces. So, I'd like to know what goes to the repository and what goes to the services. So far, I was familiar with repositories (we put methods and properties in the repository to reduce the complexity in the controller). How about the services? So, ASP.NET MVC: What's the difference in concept between Service and Repository? (Maybe none) My question is Kind of subjective, but I'd like to make sure that I'm not missing anything.   Hello, I'd like to develop a desktop application (on Windows, and preferably on .NET) that accepts bluetooth connections from mobile devices, that would then send commands to this application. I've never worked with bluetooth before. I've looked for open-source examples of such applications, but I had no luck. I've actually found on Microsoft a managed (.NET) wrapper for the bluetooth stack on Windows CE, but wasn't able to use it on my Windows 7. Do you know of any good texts discussing this topic?
