• How to change onmouseover event to onclick instead in javascript?

  I am using this plugin in wordpress http://www.iwebix.de/front-slider-wordpress-plugin-demo/ As you can see in the demo above, the left and right arrow buttons are the controls for scrolling the thumbnails and the event is onmouseover and onmouseout. I don't know how to change this to onclick instead so that the thumbnails will scroll left and right only when the buttons are clicked. Any help or ideas on how to do this? Thanks!   I have a remote service that I need to access, according to the documentation it's restricted using basic authentication and all requests have to be posted (HTTP POST).   I am writing a script for renaming/copying the content of a file. I have temp & temp1 folders. Inside temp1 I have 1000 .txt files with names 1.txt, 2.txt, 3.txt ... & in temp folder I have sub directories named 1, 2, 3. In the folders 1, 2, 3 ..., I have one file with extension java or xml. My need is to automate the copy of the contents of the .txt file, and paste into the respective file in the temp sub directory. Is it possible to do this using Perl?

• How to organize asp.net mvc project (using entity framework) and a corresponding database project?

  I recently switched to vs2010 and am experimenting with asp.net MVC2. I am building a simple website and use the entity framework to design the data model. From the .edmx file, I generate the database tables. After a few iterations, I decided that it would be nice to have version control of the database schema as well, and therefore I added a database project into which I imported the script that is generated from the datamodel. As a result, I have to generate the sql every time that I change the model and redo the import. The database project automatically updates the database. Although the manual steps to generate the sql and the import are annoying, this works pretty well, until I wanted to add the standard tables for user accounts/authorization etc. I can use the framework tools to add the necessary tables, views etc. to the database, but as I do not want to have them in the .edmx model I end up with a third manual step. Is anybody facing similar issues?

• Loading Youtube Iframe API with RequireJS

  I'm trying to use the Youtube Iframe API inside a module definded with Require JS. As this API is loaded async and calls a function once is loaded, I used a requireJS plugin called "async", that worked before with google maps api. However, this time something isn't working. My module starts this way: define(['text!fmwk/widgets/video/video.html','fmwk/utils/browser','async!http://www.youtube.com/iframe_api'], function (videoTpl,root) { ... }); and chrome console fires this error: Uncaught Error: Load timeout for modules: async!http://www.youtube.com/iframe_api_unnormalized3,async!http://www.youtube.com/iframe_api http://requirejs.org/docs/errors.html#timeout If I don't use async plugin the object YT or its functions are undefinded, and the same happens if I download the API code. The API is loaded sometimes if I put an script tag in the head tag of the html file. All this is expected, but I don't understand because async plugin fails. Thank you for your attention and help :)

• Mysql: Convert DB from local time to UTC

  I need to convert an existing (datetime fields) db from local time ut UTC. The values are stored ad datetimes on a server with time zone CET (+1) (with summertime +2). When selecting data I use UNIX_TIMESTAMP(), which magically compensates for everything, ie, time zone shift and dst (if i've read the docs right). I'm moving the db to a new server with UTC as system time. Simply subtracting -1 H won't work, as summer time is +2. Any ideas for a clever way to do this? (using sql or some script lang)

• Installing Bugzilla on Ubuntu 9.04 and Plesk

  Hey guys. I'm trying to install the latest Bugzilla version on my ubuntu server. (Want to use a subdomain like bugs.domain.com) I already installed all necessary perl modules and check_modules.pl doesn't show any errors. But when I'm running the testserver.pl script I get the following: TEST-OK Webserver is running under group id in $webservergroup TEST-FAILED Fetch of images/padlock.png failed I'm also not able to visit ANY file within the bugzilla folder from the browser. I'm always getting a 404 error. The bugzilla folder and all containing files are set to apache as the owner. I tried to enter the apache configuration form the installation guide in the http.include file of the domain and in the vhosts.conf file of the subdomain as well. I don't know what to do... Playing with plesks' suexecgroup doesn't bring any solution... I hope you can help me! Thanks in advance!

• CSS Jquery - When I change background color the text becomes fuzzy in IE6 ?

This is the portion where I changed the background color in the code: #sidebar { color: grey; background: #FFF; float:left; margin:0 0 24px; padding:15px 10px 10px; width:500px; } I have noticed this in one other site even on IE7. Any idea why a simple change in background color messes up the text. Thanks

• URL Encoding of Characters in a password field

  I am trying to pass login credentials to a PHP script that I have in my iPhone app. When I pull a password with special characters the password is missing certain characters especially the percent sign. I am trying to encode the text but even before I send it, the percent sign is missing. //password_field is a UITextField holding the password: !@#$%^&*() NSString *tmpPass = [password_field.text stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSLog(p_field.text); NSLog(tmpPass); This is what appears in the console: !@#$^&*() [email protected]&*() Is there any reason why it would be dropping the percent sign?

• Unable to reserve a job with beanstalkd

  I have tried on two different servers to get beanstalkd up and running and do a couple tests (locally on MacOSX compiled from source, and on a CentOS server installed with yum) I can get the server running either with sudo beanstalkd -d -p 11300 or sudo beanstalkd -p 11300 & I then tried using the php lib and it just froze. Connecting directly: telnet localhost 11300 I do the following to mimic the PHP test script: use foo USING foo put 0 0 120 5 hello INSERTED 1 reserve-with-timeout 0 TIMED_OUT If I just run reserve It's stuck indefinitely. Any ideas?

• How to get Jquery form plugin and Jquery validation to work together.

  Hello guys, I was hoping someone can shed some light on what might be occurring on my page. Okay what I currently have on my page is a simple form that collects first name, last name, city, state and email. Once submitted it will hit a PHP page that updates our DB and echo's back to the designted div with a class of .response. I am using jquery.validation and placing that dynamic function within the submitHandler like so: submitHandler: function(form) { $(form).ajaxSubmit({ target: '.response', // target element(s) to be updated with server response resetForm: true, success: function() { $('#commentform').hide(); $('.response').show(); } }); So what I am getting is a div that is not being populated with the echo from my php file in FF and in IE I am getting the message of thank you but the page is taking me to the update.php script in which I have the form action pointing to. • How do you configure IIS5 advanced settings from command line?

  I am trying to automate some of the build process for my asp.net apps by creating the virtual directories it needs and setting all their settings in a batch file. So far I have been able to figure out how to create virtual directories, but how to do you configure them beyond that? For example I need to be able to set them as an application, set the default document, change framework version, turn on integrated authentication, etc. Does anyone know of any scripts that can do all this without a third party utility? Does the adsutil.vbs admin script do any of this?

• Why am I getting a segmentation fault when I use binmode with threads in Perl?

But as soon as I add binmode(STDOUT, ":encoding(ISO-8859-1)"); to my script file, I get an error like "segmentation fault", "access denied". What is wrong to define an encoding type when trying to call a perl thread? • Php deliberately awkward?

  I'm trying to create a login process (as people who have answered my previous question will know) But it seems impossible to create one process that will work with a desktop app and a standard website. Instead I have the login function in Usermanagement.php (which is a class, icyntk) but then in another php file (api/login.php) I have: <?php require_once '../usermanagement.php'; $m = new usermanage(); echo $m->login($_POST['username'], $_POST['password']); ?> And then I will still need to make another login.php just to be used with the login form on the website. As I can't see anyway to get the result (the echo) of the api/login.php script from the index.php file (where the login form is, it only has HTML in though) Is there anyway I can simplify this so I only need one login.php?

• parsing raw email in php

  i'm looking for good/working/simple to use php code for parsing raw email into parts. i've written a couple of brute force solutions, but everytime, one small change/header/space/something comes along and my whole parser fails and the project falls apart. and before i get pointed at PEAR/PECL, i need actual code. my host has some screwy config or something, i can never seem to get the .so's to build right. if i do get the .so made, some difference in path/environment/php.ini doesnt always make it available (apache vs cron vs cli) oh, and one last thing, i'm parsing the raw email text, NOT pop3, and NOT imap. its being piped into the php script via a .qmail email redirect. i'm not expecting SOF to write it for me, i'm looking for some tips/starting points on doing it "right". this is one of those "wheel" problems that i know has already been solved.

• Why are $_POST variables getting escaped in PHP?

  When my PHP script receives data from an AJAX POST request, the $_POST variables are escaped. The really strange thing is that this only happens on my production server (running PHP 5.2.12 on Linux) and not on my local server (running PHP 5.3.1 on Windows). • SQL Server Table Partitioning, what is happening behind the scenes?

  I'm working with table partitioning on extremely large fact table in a warehouse. I have executed the script a few different ways. With and without non clustered indexes. With indexes it appears to dramatically expand the log file while without the non clustered indexes it appears to not expand the log file as much but takes more time to run due to the rebuilding of the indexes. What I am looking for is any links or information as to what is happening behind the scene specifically to the log file when you split a table partition.

• Mac dashboard widgets not loading external images

  I set out to make a quick Mac OS X dashboard widget. I read the documentation and was pleased to find out they use simple HTML, JS, and CSS. I created my widget and it works when I open the .html file in Firefox, but it does not work when I install the widget to the dashboard. The widget is simple: it displays the most recent image from a weather web cam stream. The image URLs look like this: http://webcam.com/stream.jpg?1274213999617. The timestamp is appended to the URL and the server automatically responds with the latest image for that time. I did not write the server script. The widget appears to be loading correctly, but the web cam image will not load. Notice the blue question mark in the upper left. The image should appear over the square background image. Is there any special procedure for loading external images into a widget?

• How do you use vim's quickfix feature?

  I'm a pretty new Vim user and I've found that its learning curve is quite steep (at least for me). I just installed this vim script for JavaScriptLint error checking, which shows errors in vim's quickfix window once I save a buffer. However, I don't know what to do next.. How do I 'scroll' through all the errors? How do I close the quickfix 'window'? How do I get it to check for errors after I've made changes to my code? I've looked at the vim quickfix docs but the amount of commands are overwhelming and I can't seem to find what I want. Any help would be appreciated. A side question: is there any way to have javascriptlint check for js errors for code residing in a .html file? Thanks!
