• Titanium Appcelerator - After enabling cloud services I get UnicodeDecodeError when compiling for Android

  I've got an app that has a UTF8 name (hebrew). I use the platform/android/AndroidManifest.xml file for this. I've managed to narrow it down to the Ti.cloudpush module. only when I enable this module I get the error.   Hi, a quick, probably easy question whose answer is probably "best practice" I'm following a tutorial for a custom-template mobile Safari webapp, and to change views around this code is used: function btnSave_ClickHandler(event) { var views = document.getElementById('stackLayout'); var front = document.getElementById('mainScreen'); if (views && views.object && front) { views.object.setCurrentView(front, true); } } My question is just about the if conditional statement. What is this triplet saying, and why do each of those things need to be verified before the view can be changed? Does views.object just test to see if the views variable responds to the object method? Why is this important? EDIT - This is/was the main point of this question, and it regards not Javascript as a language and how if loops work, but rather WHY these 3 things specifically need to be checked: Under what scenarios might views and front not exist? I don't typically write my code so redundantly. If the name of my MySQL table isn't changing, I'll just say UPDATE 'mytable' WHERE... instead of the much more verbose (and in my view, redundant) $mytable = "TheSQLTableName"; if ($mytable == an actual table && $mytable exists && entries can be updated){ UPDATE $mytable; } Whereas if the table's name (or in the JS example, the view's names) ARE NOT "hard coded" but are instead a user input or otherwise mutable, I might right my code as the DashCode example has it. • Newly created Document library and columns using webservices are not visible on sharepoint

  Hi, for creating a columns I worked on this code . and for creating document library Lists listService = new Lists(); listService.PreAuthenticate = true; listService.Credentials = new NetworkCredential(username,password,domain; String url = "http://YourServer/SiteName/"; listService.Url = url @ + /_vti_bin/lists.asmx"; XmlNode ndList = listService.AddList(NewListName, "Description", 101); Both are working successfully. But Problem i am facing is: New Columns and document library are not visible. I tried with comparing Field Value of Both Visible and No-Visible types. Difference i found is : Visible (Created Manually) doesn't contain Version value. were as i am creating have it. Can you help me out in this? EDIT: I checked contents of ndList node, List is created and it is visible on my UI. but on sharepoint it should be listed in 'Document' tab where default 'Shared Documents' library is shown. If i click on 'Documents' then we can also see all lib created by this code. Visible means library displayed under 'Documents' tab

• Python fit polynomial, power law and exponential from data

  I have some data (x and y coordinates) coming from a study and I have to plot them and to find the best curve that fits data. My curves are: polynomial up to 6th degree; power law; and exponential. I am able to find the best fit for polynomial with while(i < 6): coefs, val = poly.polyfit(x, y, i, full=True) and I take the degree that minimizes val. When I have to fit a power law (the most probable in my study), I do not know how to do it correctly. This is what I have done. I have applied the log function to all x and y and I have tried to fit it with a linear polynomial. If the error (val) is lower than the others polynomial tried before, I have chosen the power law function. Am I correct? Now how can I reconstruct my power law starting from the line y = mx + q in order to draw it with the original points? I need also to display the function found. I have tried with: def power_law(x, m, q): return q * (x**m) using x_new = np.linspace(x[0], x[-1], num=len(x)*10) y1 = power_law(x_new, coefs[0], coefs[1]) popt, pcov = curve_fit(power_law, x_new, y1) but it seems not to work well.

  A thirdparty vendor has provided a COM interface as an external API to their product, and for sending instructions to it, it's fine with the mechanism of generating class wrappers with visual studio by importing from the dll, then creating instances of the created classes, calling their CreateDispatch(), using the access functions and releasing when done. For return notifications, I'd normally create an EventsListener class derived from IDispatch using the Invoke function to handle events returning from the interface. • Sorting an array of Doubles with NaN in it

  This is more of a 'Can you explain this' type of question than it is anything else. I came across a problem at work where we were using NaN values in a table, but when the table was sorted, it came out in a very strange, strange manner. I figured NaN was mucking up something so I wrote up a test application to see if this is true. This is what I did. static void Main(string[] args) { double[] someArray = { 4.0, 2.0, double.NaN, 1.0, 5.0, 3.0, double.NaN, 10.0, 9.0, 8.0 }; foreach (double db in someArray) { Console.WriteLine(db); } Array.Sort(someArray); Console.WriteLine("\n\n"); foreach (double db in someArray) { Console.WriteLine(db); } Console.ReadLine(); } Which gave the result: Before: 4,2,NaN,1,5,3,NaN,10,9,8 After: 1,4,NaN,2,3,5,8,9,10,NaN So yes, the NaN some how made the sorted array to be sorted in a strange way. • ASP.NET putting dynamic controls on page in reverse messes up events

  I have this weird problem when putting textboxes on the page in reverse. The whole event system is messed up. Changing one textbox fires TextChange on all textboxes. I can fix this by putting the controls in a list first and then call add while iterating trough the list in reverse. But i just want to know why this fails. • Cannot spawn an erlang supervisor from the shell.

  I've implemented a gen_server and supervisor: test_server and test_sup. I want to test them from the shell/CLI. I've written their start_link functions such that their names are registered locally. I've found that I can spawn the test_server from the command line just fine, but a spawned test_sup does nothing whatsoever. Why is this? For example, I can spawn a test_server by executing: 1> spawn(test_server, start_link, []). <0.39.0> 2> registered(). [...,test_server,...] I can interact with the server, and everything appears fine. However, if I try to do the same thing with test_sup, no new names/Pids are registered, and it looks like my test_server was not spawned at all. I'd assume I coded an error in my supervisor, but this method of starting my supervisor works perfectly fine: 1> {ok, Pid}= test_sup:start_link([]). {ok, <0.39.0>} 2> unlink(Pid). true 3> registered(). [...,test_server,test_sup,...] Why is it that I can spawn a gen_server but not a supervisor?

• WF performance with new 20,000 persisted workflow instances each month

  Windows Workflow Foundation has a problem that is slow when doing WF instances persistace. I'm planning to do a project whose bussiness layer will be based on WF exposed WCF services. The project will have 20,000 new workflow instances created each month, each instance could take up to 2 months to finish. What I was lead to belive that given WF slownes when doing peristance my given problem would be unattainable given performance reasons. I have the following questions: Is this true? Will my performance be crap with that load(given WF persitance speed limitations) How can I solve the problem? We currently have two possible solutions: 1. Each new buisiness process request(e.g. Give me a new drivers license) will be a new WF instance, and the number of persistance operations will be limited by forwarding all status request operations to saved state values in a separate database. 2. Have only a small amount of Workflow Instances up at any give time, without any persistance ofso ever(only in case of system crashes etc.), by breaking each workflow stap in to a separate worklof and that workflow handling each business process request instance in the system that is at that current step(e.g. I'm submitting my driver license reques form, which is step one... we have 100 cases of that, and my step one workflow will handle every case simultaneusly). • Is it possible for onunload confirm to open a new url in the same window?

  Hi - this is my first post and I'm a JS novice, so please forgive my ignorance... Heres my question, its in two parts: 1.) At onunload I want an alert that asks the user if they would like to go to a related URL. The code I'm using works, but it open the URL in a new window and this can be blocked by a pop-up blocker even though the user has opted-in. Is there a way to have it open in the same window and negate the pop-up blocker? 2.) is there a way to take the onunload function out of the body tag and put it the script? It seems strange that it always happens after ten consecutive requests. Notes: In the constructor for the class in which this method resides I have the following: ServicePointManager.DefaultConnectionLimit = 100 If I set KeepAlive to true, the timeouts begin after five requests. All the requests are for pages in the same domain. EDIT I added a delay between each web request of between two and seven seconds so that I do not appear to be "hammering" the site or attempting a DOS attack. However, the problem still occurs.

I been sending mail a lot with asp.net before and never had problems like this before. Now here is where I am thinking that it might be a reverse DNS setup thing on my windows server 2008 issue + some company mails, it becomes spam, i had same issue with hotmail but that was solved when I added the plain. I have succeeded in this, but this has just presented me with a new set of problems: What are the control names for changing the visible size as well as the focus of a worksheet? What are the control names for changing/making background colours and borders? How do I create and define new worksheets and MSGraph objects inside the document? • What are the attack vectors for passwords sent over http?

  I am trying to convince a customer to pay for SSL for a web site that requires login. I want to make sure I correctly understand the major scenarios in which someone can see the passwords that are being sent. My understanding is that at any of the hops along the way can use a packet analyzer to view what is being sent. This seems to require that any hacker (or their malware/botnet) be on the same subnet as any of the hops the packet takes to arrive at its destination. Is that right? Assuming some flavor of this subnet requirement holds true, do I need to worry about all the hops or just the first one? The first one I can obviously worry about if they're on a public Wifi network since anyone could be listening in. Should I be worried about what's going on in subnets that packets will travel across outside this? I don't know a ton about network traffic, but I would assume it's flowing through data centers of major carriers and there's not a lot of juicy attack vectors there, but please correct me if I am wrong. Are there other vectors to be worried about outside of someone listening with a packet analyzer? I am a networking and security noob, so please feel free to set me straight if I am using the wrong terminology in any of this.

• WPF TexBox TwoWay Binding Problem when ValidationRules used

  I seem to have a problem with TwoWay DataBinding - my application has a window with a bunch of textboxes that allow to edit values of the properties they are bound to. Everything works well except for textboxes that also have a validation rule defined, in which case no text is displayed in the textbox when the window opens (binding back-to-source still works fine for those). If I remove Validation rule, everything's back to normal. I searched for an answer to this for a few hours now, but somehow did not even find anyone else complaining of the same issue. I am completely new to WPF, and I am sure it is just a silly mistake I have somewhere in my code...
