  I have a toString() representation of an ArrayList. Copying the toString() value to clipboard, I want to copy it back into my IDE editor, and create the ArrayList instance in one line. In fact, what I'm really doing is this: my ArrayList.toString() has data I need to setup a unit test. I want to copy this ArrayList.toString() into my editor to build a test against this edge case I don't want to parse anything by hand My input looks like this: [15.82, 15.870000000000001, 15.92, 16.32, 16.32, 16.32, 16.32, 17.05, 17.05, 17.05, 17.05, 18.29, 18.29, 19.16] The following do not work: Arrays.asList() google collections Lists.newArrayList() Suggestions?

• How to paint fully transparent pixels/points in P2D mode?

  According to the Processing Reference, stroke(gray, alpha) allows to set the color and opacity of the stroke. With the default color mode, an alpha value of 255 denotes full opacity, while a value of 0 should correspond to complete transparency. While this works with the (default) JAVA2D renderer, I can't seem to paint fully transparent points in P2D mode. This code clearly renders a pixel at the center of the canvas, even though the alpha value is set to 0 (fully transparent): public class Transparency extends PApplet { @Override public void setup() { size(200, 200, P2D); } @Override public void draw() { stroke(0, 0); point(width / 2, height / 2); } public static void main(String[] args) { PApplet.main(new String[] { Transparency.class.getSimpleName() }); } } What's wrong here?

  Afternoon chaps, After my adventures with Zend-Lucene-Search, and discovering it isn't all its cracked up to be when indexing large datasets, I've turned to Solr (thanks to Bill Karwin for that :) ) I've got Solr indexing the db far far quicker now, taking just over 8 minutes to index a table of just over 1.7million rows - which I'm very pleased with. However, when I come to try and search the index with the Zend port, I run into the following error; Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Zend_Search_Lucene_Exception' with message 'Unsupported segments file format' in /var/www/Zend/Search/Lucene.php:407 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/Zend/Search/Lucene.php(555): Zend_Search_Lucene-_readSegmentsFile() #1 /var/www/z_search.php(12): Zend_Search_Lucene-__construct('tmp/feeds_index') #2 {main} thrown in /var/www/Zend/Search/Lucene.php on line 407 I've tried to have a search around but can't seem to find anything about this problem, everyone just seems to be able to get them to work? Is IDEA all wet here, or is there a valid issue with the query? And what is the actual preferred alternative syntax for such a query?

  When I add a relative path to an SQL query as a String all the \ get removed. I am trying to add the String ("pics\\"+onlyFile) and as you can see I have escaped the \ character so I don't understand why it is being removed. onlyFile is a variable containing a file name. The value of the "src" variable (the one I am discussing) just before the SQL statement is correct, hence it is something happening when it is added to the SQL query.

• SSL Certificate without host name in it

  I have implemented a web service with server and client authentication using keytool. The problem is that this authentication doesn't work if I don't include the name of the host in it. For example: keytool -genkey -alias myAlias -keyalg RSA -keypass myPassword -storepass myPassword -keystore my.keystore -dname "CN=myhost" But I don't need and I don't like validation by host or by IP. Is there any way of avoiding it? Thanks.

• Authenticating a single request with httpclient 4.x

  I have an HttpClient instance that's shared by a number of threads. I would like to use it to make a single authenticated request. Because only the single request should be authenticated, I don't want to modify the HttpClient instance as described in the documentation. Here's what I've worked out instead, which isn't working. From what I can tell, it doesn't look like the CredentialsProvider is being used at all. Any tips? • JSF Render response programmatically

  I have one parent page with a parentManagedBean (attached to Session Scope). On click of a button on this parent page, one popup comes which has a childManagedBean (attached to Request scope). Now ChildManagedBean holds a reference to parentManaged bean through JSF's managed property facility. On this popup window, user selects some option which populates a large value object. I use the managed property of childManagedBean to set the values from this large object to that of parentManagedBean. Problem is - The parent page shows a link, on click of which a popup comes, on selection of the popup, the popup disappears and set the values to the parentManaged bean. So far so good, but the newly set values need to appear on the parent page. This is where I am stuck. How to programmatically render the master page/render page when I am at the child managed bean? Is there a way I can get handle of the parent page and refresh it? Note: I'm using JSF 1.1 EDIT- After following the solution of "resubmit-ing the form" from javascript, I am seeing that the old form is getting resubmitting which overwrites all of my changed values.

  I have a very simple camel route. It starts with a CXF Endpoint exposed as a web service. I then want to convert it to xml and call a method on a bean. Currently i'm getting a CXF specific object after the web service call. How do I take my serialized object out of the CXF MessageList and use it going forward? • Merging column headers alone in JTable

  Is there a way to merge column headers on click of a button but the values in the cell should get appeneded with each other? For instance: 10 15 20 25 30 A B C D E B C D A E 10 20 30 AB CD E BC DA E Actually the value A represents 10-15 B represents 15-20 and so on.Is this possible in JTable? Please don't confuse my earlier question with this.Here we try to merge two column headers not cells at the same time we append the values of the cell.

• Is there anything RAD comparible to VCL?

  After years in embedded programmking, I have to develop a windows app. I dug out my old C++ builder and Delphi. These are great and the latest version costs over $1k, so I won't be going there. What I prarticularly like is the VCL (visual component library) which let's me code my own components and share them with others, plus the thousands of existing 3rd party components. I noticed that there is now also a RAD PHP form Borland too. I realzie that MSVC, QT, NetBEans, etc are good enough IDEs for RAD, _BUT_ does anything offer the ease of the Borland products for developing additional components - and does anything else have thousands to choose from? PC based? Cross-platform is good. Browser based? Free is always good ;-) I don't particularly care about the programming language.

The reported error was: 'This expression is not supported in the current option setting.'. So, with SAX validator where can I find the fatal "current option setting"?

• Suggestions for GUI of a multiledia messaging application in J2ME

  Hello everyone, We have developed a messaging application in j2me which adds text message, gets pictures from gallery and attaches them to the message etc and sends it over to a server after encryption, i.e. the client wants the messages to be encrypted. The app is ready but the only problem is that the GUI of the app looks miserable compared to the GUI of native messaging application on Nokia phones. Our GUI consists of a texfield for adding recipients i.e. the user clicks "options" to "add recipients" and is taken to a new form where contacts are shown. but the textfield is not in one line (like in case of native app). Also, we need the user to input the text message in a textField since we cannot have textbox inside a form (but the native app has a textbox as well as a textField ). Are there any ways to achieve such GUIs (one-line textfields, textbox like thing inside a form)? I hope you all understand what I mean, any kind of help will be appreciated.   I extended JDialog to create a custom dialog where the user must fill some fields : How should I retrieve the data entered ? I came up with a solution that works. It mimics JOptionPane but the way I do it looks ugly to me because of the static fields involved... • Copying Excel Worksheets in POI

  Does anyone know of a means to copy a worksheet from one workbook to another using POI? The Workbook class has a cloneSheet method, but there doesn't seem to be able to insert a cloned sheet into a new workbook? If there isn't an API to do this easily, does anyone have the code to copy all of the data (styles, column widths, data, etc) from one sheet to another? The jxls has methods to copy sheets, but they don't work when copying between workbooks.
