  • Safety using $_SERVER variables

    - by DiogoNeves
Hi all, I'm working on a system that relies in $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] to get the user address and check it against a white list of addresses. Is this approach safe? Or is there a way of forcing values in superglobal variables? Thank you, Diogo

  • How to fill a drop down menu

    - by shinjuo
I want to populate a drop down menu with a column from a MySQL database. I have the rest of my database set up, but at the moment it is just a text entry box and it would be easier just to select the actually entry from a list. Also does anyone know of a good tutorial or site that has tutorials and example codes for PHP and MySQL

  • When should I stub out a type by manually creating a "stub" version, rather than using a mocking fra

    - by Ben Aston
Are there any circumstances where it is favourable to manually create a stub type, as opposed to using a mocking framework (such as Rhino Mocks) at the point of test. We take both these approaches in our projects. My gut feel when I look at the long list of stub versions of objects is that it will add maintenance overhead, and moves the implementation of the stub away from the point of test.

    - by Lily
Hi, I am trying to call a process using System.Diagnostics.Process, send it a parameter, just for the sake of trying it out i am sending "-h" which should generate a list of help options and I need the output. So far I have tried, ProcessStartInfo startInfo = new ProcessStartInfo("C:\\agfl\\agfl.exe"); startInfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Normal; startInfo.CreateNoWindow = false; startInfo.Arguments = "-h"; Process.Start(startInfo); Any help please? Thanks :)

  • Migrating svn repo with non-flat branch hierarchy to mercurial

    - by Assaf Lavie
Is there a conversion utility from svn to hg that can deal with a branch hierarchy that's more complex than just a flat list of branches under /branches? My repository has a directory that looks (conceptually) like this: /branches /projectA /v1.x /v1.1 /v1.2 etc.. IOW I need a tool that can get a tree structure as input that represents the branch hierarchy, and migrate this into hg (could be flat in HG, don't really care).

  • How can we detect hotkeys registered by other apps?

    - by worlds-apart89
Is it possible to detect all the hotkeys registered by the OS as well as software applications currently running? Any native or managed approach on the Windows platform? I know that the RegisterHotKey function returns false if the hotkey is already registered, but what I am looking for is an approach, method, etc. that will give me a list of registered hotkeys. Looping all possible combinations with RegisterHotKey does not sound like a good idea. Anything more efficient?

  • Listing defined functions in bash

    - by Charles Duffy
I'm trying to write some code in bash which uses introspection to select the appropriate function to call. Determining the candidates requires knowing which functions are defined. It's easy to list defined variables in bash using only parameter expansion: $ prefix_foo="one" $ prefix_bar="two" $ echo "${!prefix_*}" prefix_bar prefix_foo However, doing this for functions appears to require filtering the output of set -- a much more haphazard approach. Is there a Right Way?

  • Change C# sorting behaviour

    - by Erik
Lets say i have the strings abc_ and abc2_. Now, normally when sorting i C# abc2_ would come after abc_, leaving the result: abc_ abc2_ I am using this to sort, if it matters: var element = from c in elements orderby c.elementName ascending select c; How can i change this? I want abc_ to come last. Reversing is not an option because the list is contains more than two elements.

  • how to settle JSF combobox with values depending on another combobox if both are set to required

    - by mykola
    Hi, everybody! Can anyone tell me how to automatically set <h:selectOneMenu (or any other component) with values depending on another <h:selectOneMenu if there empty elements with 'required' set to 'true' on the form? If to set <a4j:support event="onchange" reRender="anotherElement" immediate="true"/ then nothing is changed because changed value isn't set. But without immediate i always have message that this or that element cannot be empty. Here's code example that doesn't work :) <h:outputLabel value="* #{msg.someField}: "/> <h:panelGrid cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <h:selectOneMenu id="someSelect" value="#{MyBean.someObj.someId}" required="true" label="#{msg.someField}" > <a4j:support event="onchange" reRender="anotherSelect" limitToList="true" immediate="true"/> <f:selectItem itemValue=""/> <f:selectItems value="#{MyBean.someList}"/> </h:selectOneMenu> <rich:message for="someSelect" styleClass="redOne"/> </h:panelGrid> <h:outputLabel value="* #{msg.anotherField}: "/> <h:panelGrid cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <h:selectOneMenu id="anotherSelect" value="#{MyBean.someObj.anotherId}" required="true" label="#{msg.anotherField}" > <f:selectItem itemValue=""/> <f:selectItems value="#{MyBean.anotherList}"/> </h:selectOneMenu> <rich:message for="anotherSelect" styleClass="redOne"/> </h:panelGrid> <h:outputLabel value="* #{msg.name}: "/> <h:panelGrid cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <h:inputText id="myName" value="#{MyBean.someObj.myName}" required="true" label="#{msg.name}"/> <rich:message for="myName" styleClass="redOne"/> </h:panelGrid> So, here (i repeat), if i try to change 'someSelect' then 'anotherSelect' should update its values but it doesn't because either when it tries to get value of 'someSelect' it gets null (if immediate set to 'true') or form validation fails on empty elements. How can i skip validation but get this changed value from 'someSelect'?

  • Trouble upgrading to .NET 4 with VS2008. What am I missing?

    - by Matt H.

When I go to compile options -- target framework... .NET 4 isn't on the list. Is .net 4 not compatible with VS2008? It would be nice if Microsoft stated that somewhere...

  • TFS Client APIs for creating workitem templates?

    - by amazedsaint
Of course, it is pretty possible to create work items, get a list of work items etc in TFS. In addition to this, we need to have the functionality of allowing our users to create their own work item templates, for various file types. Whether the TFS Client APIs are capable of uploading work item templates to TFS server?

  • Programmatically retrieve a form template from a SharePoint library.

So an InfoPath form is deployed to a SharePoint server. It gets deployed through central admin and then activated to a particular site collection. This site collection has a forms library with the appropriate content type for the activated InfoPath form. • C#: AutoFixture refactoring

    - by Thomas Jaskula
    Hello, I started to use AutoFixture http://autofixture.codeplex.com/ as my unit tests was bloated with a lot of data setup. I was spending more time on seting up the data than to write my unit test. Here's an example of how my initial unit test looks like (example taken from cargo application sample from DDD blue book) [Test] public void should_create_instance_with_correct_ctor_parameters() { var carrierMovements = new List<CarrierMovement>(); var deparureUnLocode1 = new UnLocode("AB44D"); var departureLocation1 = new Location(deparureUnLocode1, "HAMBOURG"); var arrivalUnLocode1 = new UnLocode("XX44D"); var arrivalLocation1 = new Location(arrivalUnLocode1, "TUNIS"); var departureDate1 = new DateTime(2010, 3, 15); var arrivalDate1 = new DateTime(2010, 5, 12); var carrierMovement1 = new CarrierMovement(departureLocation1, arrivalLocation1, departureDate1, arrivalDate1); var deparureUnLocode2 = new UnLocode("CXRET"); var departureLocation2 = new Location(deparureUnLocode2, "GDANSK"); var arrivalUnLocode2 = new UnLocode("ZEZD4"); var arrivalLocation2 = new Location(arrivalUnLocode2, "LE HAVRE"); var departureDate2 = new DateTime(2010, 3, 18); var arrivalDate2 = new DateTime(2010, 3, 31); var carrierMovement2 = new CarrierMovement(departureLocation2, arrivalLocation2, departureDate2, arrivalDate2); carrierMovements.Add(carrierMovement1); carrierMovements.Add(carrierMovement2); new Schedule(carrierMovements).ShouldNotBeNull(); } Here's how I tried to refactor it with AutoFixture [Test] public void should_create_instance_with_correct_ctor_parameters_AutoFixture() { var fixture = new Fixture(); fixture.Register(() => new UnLocode(UnLocodeString())); var departureLoc = fixture.CreateAnonymous<Location>(); var arrivalLoc = fixture.CreateAnonymous<Location>(); var departureDateTime = fixture.CreateAnonymous<DateTime>(); var arrivalDateTime = fixture.CreateAnonymous<DateTime>(); fixture.Register<Location, Location, DateTime, DateTime, CarrierMovement>( (departure, arrival, departureTime, arrivalTime) => new CarrierMovement(departureLoc, arrivalLoc, departureDateTime, arrivalDateTime)); var carrierMovements = fixture.CreateMany<CarrierMovement>(50).ToList(); fixture.Register<List<CarrierMovement>, Schedule>((carrierM) => new Schedule(carrierMovements)); var schedule = fixture.CreateAnonymous<Schedule>(); schedule.ShouldNotBeNull(); } private static string UnLocodeString() { var stringBuilder = new StringBuilder(); for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) stringBuilder.Append(GetRandomUpperCaseCharacter(i)); return stringBuilder.ToString(); } private static char GetRandomUpperCaseCharacter(int seed) { return ((char)((short)'A' + new Random(seed).Next(26))); } I would like to know if there's better way to refactor it. Would like to do it shorter and easier than that. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • When should I use Dependency Injection and when utility methods?

    - by Roman
I have a Java EE project with Spring IoC container. I've just found in Utils class static method sendMail(long list of params). I don't know why but I feel that it would look better if we had separate class (Spring bean with singleton scope) which will be responsible for sending email. But I can't find any arguments which can prove my position. So, are there any pros (or cons) in using DI in this (rather general) situation?

  • Possible to do rounded corners in custom Progressbar progressDrawable?

    - by b-ryce
I have a progress bar that is supposed to look like the attached image: And I've made it a long way. I'm very close the only part that isn't working is the rounded corners for the progressDrawable. Here is what mine looks like. (Notice, circled in red, that the fill inside the white outline does not have rounded corners): So, I've found a couple of ways to make this work when the progress bar is colored in with a shape, gradient, or color. BUT, I can't get it with an image as the progressDrawable. Here is my class that extends ProgressBar public class RoundedProgressBar extends ProgressBar{ private Paint paint; public RoundedProgressBar(Context context) { super(context); setup(); } public RoundedProgressBar(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); setup(); } public RoundedProgressBar(Context context, AttributeSet attrs, int defStyle) { super(context, attrs, defStyle); setup(); ; } protected void setup() { paint = new Paint(); } @Override protected synchronized void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { // First draw the regular progress bar, then custom draw our text super.onDraw(canvas); paint.setColor(Color.WHITE); paint.setStyle(Paint.Style.STROKE); RectF r = new RectF(0,0,getWidth()-1,getHeight()-1); canvas.drawRoundRect(r,getHeight()/2,getHeight()/2, paint); } } Here is my selector: <layer-list xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" > <item android:id="@android:id/background" android:drawable="@drawable/slider_track" /> <item android:id="@android:id/secondaryProgress" android:drawable="@drawable/slider_track" /> <item android:id="@android:id/progress" android:drawable="@drawable/slider_track_progress" /> </layer-list> Here are the images used in the selector: slider_track- slider_track_progress- Here is where I embed my progressbar in the layout for my activity <com.android.component.RoundedProgressBar android:id="@+id/player_hp_bar" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="36dip" android:layout_marginLeft="30dip" android:layout_marginRight="30dip" android:max="100" style="?android:attr/progressBarStyleHorizontal" android:progressDrawable="@drawable/slider_layer_list" android:progress="20" android:maxHeight="12dip" android:minHeight="12dip" /> Anyone know how to make this work?
