Is the flock function really thread-safe? What if the collision occurs after I fopen() the file, but before I flock() it?

  • Complex SQL query... 3 tables and need the most popular in the last 24 hours using timestamps!

    Hey guys, I have 3 tables with a column in each which relates to one ID per row. I am looking for an sql statement query which will check all 3 tables for any rows in the last 24 hours (86400 seconds) i have stored timestamps in each tables under column time. After I get this query I will be able to do the next step which is to then check to see how many of the ID's a reoccurring so I can then sort by most popular in the array and limit it to the top 5...     Hi, I am testing Paypal's masspay using their 'MassPay NVP example' and I having difficulty trying to amend the code so inputs data from my MySql database. Basically I have user table in MySql which contains email address, status of payment (paid,unpaid) and balance. Also I need it to loop to however many rows that were retrieved from the query as <3 in the for loop above.   • Looking for design/architecture suggestions for a simple HTML game.

    Imagine that HTML page is a game surface (see picture). User can have n number of boards (blue divs) on his page. Each board can be moved, re-sized, relabeled, created new and removed. Inside each board there are m number of figures (purple divs). Each of these user can move inside the board or to another board, re-size, change color and label, delete, add new. The goal of the game is not important, but let's say it is to rearrange figures in a certain way so that they disappear. But the goal of the programmer is to save the whole game surface in the database for every user of the site, and to load it later when he returns. So, how do I go about data exchange between client and the database? I'll give my idea in one of the answers.

  • How to make WordPress "Add/Edit Post" form more Tumblr like?

    Hi, WordPress requires you give each blog post at least two fields: a title and text body content. I'm wondering how to modify WordPress admin so I can sometimes enter a single field for a blog post, in particular a URL, without WordPress requiring a title (related but not the point of this question: a custom theme would then know how to handle a post that only contained a URL, it would treat it like a "Link" post in Tumblr). Ideally it'd be good if the "add/edit post" form could be modified so it only contains this single URL/Link field when this is wanted. I'm guessing this is possible through a plugin but I'm not certain. I'm hoping some smart WordPress devs are here to share and brainstorm ideas for how this could be done.     catch is not working because there is installed an exception handler using set_exception_handler() I need "catch" to work, so I guess I need to unset the exception handler somehow.   • How to join a table in symfony (Propel) and retrieve object from both table with one query

    Hi, I'm trying to get an easy way to fetch data from two joined Mysql table using Propel (inside Symfony) but in one query. Let's say I do this simple thing: $comment = CommentPeer::RetrieveByPk(1); print $comment->getArticle()->getTitle(); //Assuming the Article table is joined to the Comment table Symfony will call 2 queries to get that done. The first one to get the Comment row and the next one to get the Article row linked to the comment one. Now, I am trying to find a way to make all that within one query. I've tried to join them using $c = new Criteria(); $c->addJoin(CommentPeer::ARTICLE_ID, ArticlePeer::ID); $c->add(CommentPeer::ID, 1); $comment = CommentPeer::doSelectOne($c); But when I try to get the Article object using $comment->getArticle() It will still issue the query to get the Article row. I could easily clear all the selected columns and select the columns I need but that would not give me the Propel object I'd like, just an array of the query's raw result. So how can I get a populated propel object of two (or more) joined table with only one query? Thanks, JP

    Im trying to use xml to parse a .COLLADA file. The problem is I can't seem to use xpath() to access elements if the root tag has a xmlns attribute.   • Zend: Fetching row from session db table after generating session id

    Hi, I'm trying to update the session table used by Zend_Session_SaveHandler_DbTable directly after authenticating the user and writing the session to the DB. But I can neither update nor fetch the newly inserted row, even though the session id I use to check (Zend_Session::getId()) is valid and the row is indeed inserted into the table. Upon fetching all session ids (on the same request) the one I newly inserted is missing from the results. It does appear in the results if I fetch it with something else. I've checked whether it is a problem with transactions and that does not seem to be the problem - there is no active transaction when I'm fetching the results. I've also tried fetching a few seconds after writing using sleep(), which doesn't help. $auth->getStorage()->write($ident); //sleep(1) $update = $this->db->update('session', array('uid' => $ident->user_id), 'id='.$this->db->quote(Zend_Session::getId())); $qload = 'SELECT id FROM session'; $load = $this->db->fetchAll($qload); echo $qload; print_r($load); $update fails. $load doesn't contain the row that was written with $auth-getStorage()-write($identity). $qload does contain the correct query - copying it to somewhere else leads to the expected result, that is the inserted row is included in the results. Database used is MySQL - InnoDB. If someone knows how to directly fix this (i.e. on the same request, not doing something like updating after redirecting to another page) without modifying Zend_Session_SaveHandler_DbTable: Thank you very much!

By default it points to public_html/mysite.net/ directory. Is it possible that it reads all the files (source code) from public_html directory itself. Actually I am planning to have multiple addon domains, the source code for all will be same.
