    I have a big div, and a small button inside the div. When the div is clicked, I want it to do something. When the button is clicked, I want it to do something else. $('#myDiv').click(OnDivClicked); $('#myButton').click(OnButtonClicked); Currently when the button is clicked, both OnDivClicked and OnButtonClicked are fired. How do you prevent OnDivClicked getting fired when the button is clicked? Thanks in advance.

  • setAnimationRepeatAutoreverses not behaved as I expected

    I am starting to learn to use UIView animation. So I wrote the following lines: [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:2.0]; [UIView setAnimationRepeatCount:2]; [UIView setAnimationRepeatAutoreverses:YES]; CGPoint position = greenView.center; position.y = position.y + 100.0f; position.x = position.x + 100.0f; greenView.center = position; [UIView commitAnimations]; In this case, the UIView (a green box) moved back and fore 2 times. So far so good, BUT I found out that after the moving twice, the green box ended up jumped to the "new position" (position.x + 100.0f, position.y + 100.0f) instead of going back to the original position (position.x, position.y). That makes the animation look pretty odd (like after the box swing back to the original position caused by setAnimationRepeatAutoreverses, it jumps back to the new position in the last microsecond!) What is the best way to make the green box NOT jump to the new position at the very last minute?

  • JDBC connection for a background thread being closed accessing in Websphere

    Hi, I have an application running in Websphere Portal Server inside of Websphere Application Server 6.0 (WAS). In this application for one particular functionality that takes a long time to complete, I am firing a new thread that performs this action. This new thread opens a new Session from Hibernate and starts performing DB transactions with it. Sometimes (haven't been able to see a pattern), the transactions inside the thread work fine and the process completes successfully. Other times however I get the errors below: org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: could not load an entity: [OBJECT NAME#218294] ... Caused by: com.ibm.websphere.ce.cm.ObjectClosedException: DSRA9110E: Connection is closed. Method cleanup failed while trying to execute method cleanup on ManagedConnection WSRdbManagedConnectionImpl@642aa0d8 from resource jdbc/MyJDBCDataSource. Caught exception: com.ibm.ws.exception.WsException: DSRA0080E: An exception was received by the Data Store Adapter. See original exception message: Cannot call 'cleanup' on a ManagedConnection while it is still in a transaction.. How can I stop this from happening? Why does it seem that WAS wants to kill my connections even though they're not done. Is there a way I can stop WAS from attempting to close this particular connection? Thanks

    Hello, I am trying to create a simple Android application that has a ActivityList of information, when the application starts, I plan to start a Service that will be constantly calculating the data (it will be changing) and I want the ActivityList to be in sync with the data that the service is calculating for the life of the app. How can I set up my Activity to be listening to the Service? Is this the best way to approach this problem? For example, if you imagine a list of stock prices - the data would be being changed regularly and need to be in sync with the (in my case) Service that is calculating/fetching the data constantly.     I would like to create the following behaviour in a ScrollViewer that wraps ContentControl: When the ContentControl height grows , the ScrollViewer should automatically scroll to the end. This is easy to achive by using ScrollViewer.ScrollToEnd(). However, if the user uses the scroll bar, the automatic scrolling shouldn't happen anymore. This is similar to what happens in VS output window for example. The problem is to know when a scrolling has happened because of user scrolling and when it happened because the content size changed. I tried to play with the ScrollChangedEventArgsof ScrollChangedEvent, but couldn't get it to work. Ideally, I do not want to handle all possible Mouse and keyboard events.

    I have a large textfile, which has linebreaks at column 80 due to console width. Many of the lines in the textfile are not 80 characters long, and are not affected by the linebreak. In pseudocode, this is what I want: Iterate through lines in file If line matches this regex pattern: ^(.{80})\n(.+) Replace this line with a new string consisting of match.group(1) and match.group(2). Just remove the linebreak from this line. If line doesn't match the regex, skip! Maybe I don't need regex to do this?

I thought it would be as simple as adding an option, containment.     Hello all, I'm trying to parse some returned html to look for currently playing movies. The pattern I'm trying to match looks like: <span dir=ltr>Clash of the Titans</span> Of which there are several in the returned html. (the html is huge, I've posted a sample at the bottom) I'm trying get an array of the movie titles with the following command: titles = listings_html.split(/(<span dir=ltr>).*(<\/span>)/) But I'm not getting the results I'm expecting. Can anyone see a problem with my approach or regex?     Having a hard time explaining what I mean, so here is what I want to do I want any sentenced to be parsed along the pattern of text #something a few words [someothertext] for this, the matching sentence would be Jeremy is trying #20 times to [understand this] And I would name 4 groups, as text, time, who, subtitle However, I could also write #20 Jeremy is trying [understand this] times to and still get the tokens #20 Jeremy is trying times to understand this corresponding to the right groups As long as the delimited tokens can separate the 2 text only tokens, I'm fine. Is this even possible? I've tried a few regex's and failed miserably (am still experimenting but finding myself spending way too much time learning it)

    I am trying to customize the mappings for vimdiff and make them similar to winmerge In a vertical 2 way split, I want to map alt-left <a-left> to move current diff to left side and alt-right <a-right> to move current diff to right side. For merging i can use :diffg and :diffp. But I need to know which split i am in so that i can use :diffg/:diffp in that. Is there any way by which i can detect which split i am in. Specifically is there is any way by which i can know whether the cursor is in left split or right split

    I am adding a bounty to this question, hoping for some scientific research results. Thank you everybody! I have recently tried working on dark backgrounds, and it seemed (to me) to be easier on the eye. However, today I read Gerrie Schenck's comment on this answer, in which he said that mainframe developers were advised to use white backgrounds instead of black, as it is said that white is easier on the eye. So which one is actually better for the eyes in the long run? I would be thankful for any (scientific) references about the subject, as my eyes really need some relaxation. I wanted to make this question a community wiki, but I think that the least I can do to thank people is to reward their answers, so I'm leaving it as a normal question. Many, many thanks for your help. P.S. I don't know which tags would be appropriate for this question, so I'd be grateful if you could tag it in a better way than I did.

  • One position right barrel shift using ALU Operators?

    I was wondering if there was an efficient way to perform a shift right on an 8 bit binary value using only ALU Operators (NOT, OR, AND, XOR, ADD, SUB) Example: input: 00110101 output: 10011010 I have been able to implement a shift left by just adding the 8 bit binary value with itself since a shift left is equivalent to multiplying by 2. However, I can't think of a way to do this for shift right. The only method I have come up with so far is to just perform 7 left barrel shifts. Is this the only way?

  • Make an iPhone InfoButton light/dark based on color behind it

    How do I detect what color is under the InfoButton... so I can change the button from DARK to LIGHT? I set my view's color... but how do I tell if it's "kind of light" or "kind of dark"? Besides... I can't change the info-button from light to dark anyway. (read only) Ugh. Shouldn't Apple have some kind of a simple "cmdButton.doThisExtremelyCommonThingForMe = TRUE" statement? InfoButtons are useless if you can't even see them. (Or how would I put an image behind the button to make it stand-out more?)

  • [WPF] selected item in listbox unreadable because of the color !

    I dynamically create a collection of stackpanels in my listbox. In this stackpanel are contained labels and checkbox horizontally aligned. The problem is when I click on a stackpanel, the selection is unreadable because the line become dark-blue whereas the letters stay black so black on blue, you see nothing... how can I dynamically change the forecolor of the selected elements in the stackpanel ? I say dynamically and not in the xml file, because all those elements are dynamically created, base on a database... thanksssss!!

  • Calculating string sizes on iPhone on a background thread

    I've got some somewhat hefty string size calculations happening in my app (each one takes close to 500ms, and happens when the user scrolls to a new "page" in my app (like the Weather app). The delay only happens once per page, as the calculation only needs to be run once (and can even be cached for subsequent launches with the same data). Anyway, I still like to not block the UI for this type of work, as to me it screams using threads, but I know UIKit is not meant to be used from other threads. (I know NSString is not part of UIKit, but the string sizing methods are part of the UIKitAdditions...) So how should I go about doing this? What's the best way to not block the UI and do so safely?

  • Background image for list view still shows white behind text for cells.

    I wanted to put a background image partially visible behind a list view. I created a list view in my nib with an image view behind it and made the list view background 20% opacity. This allows the background image to show thru but my text in the cells show a white background behind and if I create the cells in cellForRowAtIndexPath the cells have a white background too. I am creating and setting the cell textLabel and the detailTextLabel in the cellForRowAtIndexPath event. Not sure how to get rid of that, or if there is a better way to do the background image.

  • Internet Explorer 7 - Position Absolute - Dropdown Menu

    Hi GUys, I am having a big trouble positioning my dropdown menu on below URL (Internet Explorer 7 problem only): http://tinyurl.com/y7v2qj9 When hovering the menu, you will see that the drop down appears behind the image. This doesn´t happen in IE8 or Firefox, only in IE7. I think it must be related to a specific bug which i am unaware of, can´t find the solution. Your help is greatly appreciated ! THANKS !!
