  • SmtpClient.Send() complains of incorrect no of overloads when passing in MailMessage object

    Hi, I have this code written in .NET 4.0 using VS2010 Ultimate Beta 2: smtpClient.Send(mailMsg); smtpClient is a reference to SmtpClient (I have the relevant references added), and likewise for mailMsg (is MailMessage) - there are no errors stating anything like check for missing assemblies. However, I keep getting an error saying that I have the incorrect no of overloads, when SmtpClient takes either a MailMessage object or the To address, From address, Subject, etc. Why doesn't this code work? Totally confused. Thanks

  • How do I solve an AntiForgeryToken exception that occurs after an iisreset in my ASP.Net MVC app?

    I’m having problems with the AntiForgeryToken in ASP.Net MVC. If I do an iisreset on my web server and a user continues with their session they get bounced to a login page. Not terrible but then the AntiForgery token blows up and the only way to get going again is to blow away the cookie on the browser. With the beta version of version 1 it used to go wrong when reading the cookie back in for me so I used to scrub it before asking for a validation token but that was fixed when it was released. For now I think I’ll roll back to my code that fixed the beta problem but I can’t help but think I’m missing something. Is there a simpler solution, heck should I just drop their helper and create a new one from scratch? I get the feeling that a lot of the problem is the fact that it’s tied so deeply into the old ASP.Net pipeline and is trying to kludge it into doing something it wasn’t really designed to do. I had a look in the source code for the ASP.Net MVC 2 RC and it doesn't look like the code has changed much so while I haven't tried it, I don't think there are any answers there. Here is the relevant part of the stack trace of the exception. Edit: I just realised I didn't mention that this is just trying to insert the token on the GET request. This isn't the validation that occurs when you do a POST kicking off.   • Missing Siverlight templates in Visual Studio 2008

    Hello ! I have Visual Studio 2008 (sp1, .NET 3.5). I have installed Silverlight 3 SDK and Silverlight 4 SDK beta + Sivelrlight toolkit. I also have installed Windows Phone Developer Tools CTP that includes Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone CTP. I have noticed that when i start a new project in VS2008 all the Silverlight templates are missing. Any tip how to get them? Thanx !

  • Render a view as a string

    Hi all! I'm wanting to output two different views (one as a string that will be sent as an email), and the other the page displayed to a user. Is this possible in ASP.NET MVC beta? I've tried multiple examples: RenderPartial to String in ASP.NET MVC Beta If I use this example, I receive the "Cannot redirect after HTTP headers have been sent.". MVC Framework: Capturing the output of a view If I use this, I seem to be unable to do a redirectToAction, as it tries to render a view that may not exist. If I do return the view, it is completely messed up and doesn't look right at all. Does anyone have any ideas/solutions to these issues i have, or have any suggestions for better ones? Many thanks!     Why browser vendors make their own css properties, even they know these will not pass the w3c validation? What is the purpose? is for their own testing, or for web developers, ot to demonstrate browser capabilities to the world and to the W3C organizations and to CSS development team of W3C? is it like a beta version of demonstration? if i use any browser specific for now can they remove that property's support from future versions.will i have to edit my css in future for example: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/CSS_Reference/Mozilla_Extensions

  • How do I remove a folder from Windows Distributed File System?

    We recently moved to a webfarm and setup dfs, only to find a beta application was creating files like there was no tomorrow. 1.2 million files were replicated across the farm, and since then we have prevented the application from creating new files, but every time we try to remove the files, it replaces them on each server because of replication. The process of replacing them actually causes to server to run slowly and in some cases stall. Is there any way we can stop replication at a folder level?

    I'm currently a very casual user of Apache Mahout, and I'm considering purchasing the book Mahout in Action. Unfortunately, I'm having a really hard time getting an idea of how worth it this book is -- and seeing as it's a Manning Early Access Program book (and therefore only currently available as a beta-version e-book), I can't take a look myself in a bookstore. Can anyone recommend this as a good (or less good) guide to getting up to speed with Mahout, and/or other sources that can supplement the Mahout website?

    As usual I typed sudo Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all It uninstalled the first version (Beta) properly. Tried the same thing on the older Stable Version which I have installed to "XCode Stable" Getting this error Use of uninitialized value $dir_name in substitution (s///) at Library/uninstall-devtools line 153. Use of uninitialized value $developer_dir in concatenation (.) or string at Library/uninstall-devtools line 120 Anyone else facing this problem? Can I just trash the installation folder?

    At runtime in a generic fashion (i.e. iterating UIElements) can I determine if a given FrameWorkElement has a non-inherited DataContext property set? I want a list of elements where DataContext was explicitly set, not inherited from higher up in the chain. I thought perhaps GetBindingExpression() would help but so far it has not. Using Silverlight beta 3.

    XCode 3.2.3 Beta does not allow building for below 3.2. I opened a project that was made in an earlier XCode. For some reason, the base SDK is reported as missing even after changing it to 4.0. Other projects from earlier XCode do not have this issue. What can I do?

    I'm developing Reporting services on VS2005 and have to connect to SQL Server 2008. The following Error occurs: "This server version is not supported. You must have Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 or later." I found on the net a patch for it, but it doesn't work (link to patch) "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer Service because the program to be upgraded is missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program." what else can I do ? :(

    In Asp.Net MVC 2.0, at least in the beta, you could decoration your model classes with data annotation attributes and enable client side validation that leverages that criteria defined in your model data annotation attibutes. Is there anything similar for Java Spring MVC 3.0? Is it possible to inject a component into the response pipeline that can inspect the model's annotated properties and render client side validation logic to complement the server side validation logic that is invoked prior to the controller handling the request?
