    Given a phone keypad as shown below: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 How many different 10-digit numbers can be formed starting from 1? The constraint is that the movement from 1 digit to the next is similar to the movement of the Knight in a chess game. For eg. if we are at 1 then the next digit can be either 6 or 8 if we are at 6 then the next digit can be 1, 7 or 0. Repetition of digits are allowed - 1616161616 is a valid number. Is there a polynomial time algorithm which solves this problem? The problem requires us to just give the count of 10-digit numbers and not necessarily list the numbers.

    Hello, in a mini virtual community, i have a profile_view function, so that i can view the profile of any registered user. The profile view function has as a parameter the id of the user wich the profile belongs to, so that when i want to access the profile of user 2 for example, i call it like that: http://127.0.0.1:8000/accounts/profile_view/2/ My problem is that i would like to have the username in the url, and NOT the id. I try to modify my code as follows, but it doesn't work still.     Hello. I have a homepage, for example: www.example.com. There is a url like this: www.example.com/subdirectory/page.php?var1=A&var2=B It's a long url, so I changed it like this: www.example.com/subdirectory/page/A/B as well as I config the .htaccess file: <Files page> ForceType application/x-httpd-php </Files> However, I assume it's also quite long. If the "page.php" change to "index.php", the "page" seems to disappear, just like this: www.example.com/subdirectory/A/B But I don't know how to achieve. Is omitted 'page' possible?     To make pretty URL's from article titles I am using a simple function. However lately I an concerned about the ideal length of these "slugs". It is said that too many dashes are bad. However some article titles can be long and a too long URL may not be liked by google. Of course that defeats th whole idea of having URL slugs. So does anyone have any idea how long a URL slug should be. Should there be a limit on the "dash" charecters used?

  • Grails - Language prefix in url mappings

    Hi there im having problem with language mappings. The way i want it to work is that language is encoded in the url like /appname/de/mycontroller/whatever If you go to /appname/mycontroller/action it should check your session and if there is no session pick language based on browser preference and redirect to the language prefixed site. If you have session then it will display english. English does not have en prefix (to make it harder). I think i did something wrong. Some of the reverse mappings work but some dont add language. If i use link tag and pass params:[lang:'pl'] then it works but if i add params:[lang:'pl', page:2] then it does not. In the second case both lang and page number become parameters in the query string. What is worse they dont affect the locale so page shows in english. Can anyone please point me to the documentation what are the rules of reverse mappings or even better how to implement such language prefix in a good way ? THANKS

    I retrieve a JSON list of contacts from a social network site. It contains firstname, lastname, displayname, data1, data2, etc... What is the efficient way to quickly lookup my local phone contacts database and "match" them based on their name. Since there are firstname, lastname and displayname this can vary. What do you think, how can the best match be achieved? Also how do I make sure I don't parse for each JSON item the whole database I want to avoide having JSON_COUNT x MOBILE COUNT steps.

    I am trying to determine if an Android user has had a close proximity to a list of predetermined locations. I'd like to do this with the least amount of drain on the phone's battery. The two mechanisms I see for accomplishing this are proximity alerts and requesting location updates. What are the pros and cons of the two methods? Will one have less affect on the battery than the other? In either case I would guess the specific location manager used would affect power usage (existing Stack Overflow answer).

    I'm currently looking into different options for unit testing Silverlight applications. One of the frameworks available is the Silverlight Unit Test Framework from Microsoft (developed primary by Jeff Wilcox, http://www.jeff.wilcox.name/2010/05/sl3-utf-bits/). One of the scenarios I'm looking into is running the same tests on both Silverlight 3 (PC) and Windows Phone 7. The Silverlight Unit Test Framework (SLUT) runs on both PC and phone. To prevent having to copy or link files I would like to put my tests into a shared test library, that can be loaded by either a WP7 application using the SLUT, or a Silverlight 3 application using SLUT. So my question is: will SLUT load unit tests defined in a referenced class library, or only in the executing assembly?

Is it possible to add some text after the contact name when a call is received. I have gone through the entire stackoverflow.com and found some relevant answers but all of them are obsolete and doesn't work with iOS 4.0 anymore. The most famous solution for this problem is NSString *num = [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] stringForKey:@"SBFormattedPhoneNumber"]; but as I mentioned this solution no more works with iOS 4.0 As my application is intended towards the jail broken phones and not intended the Apple app store so I am not worried about my app rejection, hence any private API will also work for me. Also please let me know if we can fetch IMSI number from SIM using any private APIs of iPhone

  • getting the Contact's Birthday of a HTC Sense phone

    I am not sure, but probably HTC Sense does the following, syncs my Facebook contacts to my phone along with their mobile number and their birthday. This shows well in the agenda and the user panel. But as it turns out it doesn't use the standard SDK way to store the birthdays.   • Can you suggest good ways of generating URLS for viewing tagged content

    For example, here on stack overflow the URL http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/javascript+php will give you all questions tagged with javascript and php. The system I have allows tags with spaces in them, so the approach used here would not be a good fit for me. What character would you use to separate the tags, so the URLs are still human readable, google readable and web browser compatible. My gut feeling was to use commas. eg http://example.com/tagged/first+tag,second+tag Any feedback or suggestions would be welcome.

    hi, i have a Cliq and a MyTouch phone. i am writing a game that requires a fire button. on the cliq, it's the center of the D-Pad, and on the MyTouch, the scroll ball. i am handling the onKeyDown events via a separate thread. it all works until i press the button too many times, meaning the key down event is no longer fired off. if i press the D-Pad down or scroll the ball down, then the fire button works again. i can only guess that maybe the message queue within the OS is full, therefore the fire button temporarily malfuntions. can someone help me? thanks.

    I have an asp.net web forms application that has been live for a number of years and as such has quite a lot of indexed content on google. Ideally, I'd prefer that all Url's for the website are in lowercase but I understand that having 2 versions of the same content indexed in search engines (MixedCase.aspx and mixedcase.aspx) will be bad for seo. I was wondering: a) Should I just leave everything in its current Mixed Case form and never change it? OR b) I can change the code so everything is in lowercase from here on in, BUT, is there a way of doing this so as the search engines are aware of this change and don't penalise me?

I am sure this is a common question but I am not so hot with mod_rewrite: I have this URL: http://mysite.com/user.php?user=fatcatmat&sort=popularv I want to be able to rewrite it like this: http://mysite.com/user/user/fatcatmat/sort/popularv (Is there a way to remove duplicates in a URL?) I think I have managed to do the removal of the PHP extension. RewriteRule ^(.*)\$ $1.php [nc] Is the above correct? For the separate pages, I would have something like this. RewriteRule ^/?user(/)?$ user.php Main Question: Its a bit tedious to do all the above but is there a MEGA rewrite rule that will just place "/" in between variables and their values and remove the .php extension from all pages? Parent site is one page, and each of the 3 child sites is about 8-10pages. Right now I have the 3 child sites set up as folders under arboroaks.net. For example, lakelandhills, a child site, would be arboroaks.net/lakelandhills. I have the full domain, arboroaksatlakelandhills.com redirect to this url (arboroaks.net/lakelandhills). My question is whether I should have the child sites be contained on their own domain or not. Think lakelandhillsatarboroaks.com/about-us.php verse arboroaks.net/lakelandhills/about-us.php. The main reason is obviously for SEO consideration. Thanks!
