    Is there tool or a regexp that can convert shell escape characters to HTML code? As an example, here is a logfile from GNU screen: ^MESC[K$ ^MESC[K$ exit Executing .bashrc ESC[00;31;31mserver.xyz.com: ESC[00;34;34m~ which I would like to convert to something like this: $ exit Executing .bashrc <font color=red>server.xyz.com</font>: <font color=blue>~</font> and send as HTML e-mail to an e-mail address, to archive my work. Here is a related question, which shows how to convert it to regular text, but it would be nice to convert to HTML and not just throw the escape characters away.

  • Convert VB6 Randomize to C#

    I'm writing a C# frontend to a legacy database that uses VB6 Rnd() and Randomize() methods for user password encryption. The encryption function is very simplistic and really not all that secure, but it's what all current passwords are stored with. What I'd like to be able to do is authenticate legacy users from a C# application. I can write new encryption (or preferably hashing) code for VB6 so that all future users have a more secure password, and that can be duplicated in C#. But I don't want to require current users to have had their password reset before they can use the new frontend. Is there any way I can reimplement that algorithm in C# so that it produces identical results to the legacy VB6 code?

  • Convert SVN Subdirectory to Git

    I would like to ditch SVN for Git. My current SVN repository setup has projects under trunk (/trunk/projecta, /trunk/projectb, etc. with tags and branches at /tags/projecta-1.0, etc.). I would like to create distinct Git repos for each of these projects by pulling them out of SVN using git-svn. I've successfully pulled the entire SVN repo down to a local Git repo but all of the projects exist in the same Git repo now. Is it possible to pull them apart at this point?

    I have hourly weather data. I've seen the function examples from here: http://casoilresource.lawr.ucdavis.edu/drupal/node/991 I'm altering the code to account for airport data, which has a different URL type. Another issue with the airport weather data is that the time data is saved in 12 hour format.     Hey there, this is part of a question i got in class, im at the final stretch but this has become a major problem. In it im given a certain value which is called the "gold value" and it is 40.5, this value changes in input. and i have these constants const int RUBIES_PER_DIAMOND = 5; // relative values. * const int EMERALDS_PER_RUBY = 2; const int GOLDS_PER_EMERALDS = 5; const int SILVERS_PER_GOLD = 4; const int COPPERS_PER_SILVER = 5; const int DIAMOND_VALUE = 50; // gold values. * const int RUBY_VALUE = 10; const int EMERALD_VALUE = 5; const float SILVER_VALUE = 0.25; const float COPPER_VALUE = 0.05; which means that basically for every diamond there are 5 rubies, and for every ruby there are 2 emeralds. So on and so forth. and the "gold value" for every diamond for example is 50 (diamond value = 50) this is how much one diamond is worth in golds. my problem is converting 40.5 into these diamonds and ruby values. I know the answer is 4rubies and 2silvers but how do i write the algorithm for this so that it gives the best estimate for every goldvalue that comes along?? please help!, im at my wits end

The concept is introduced here: http://dannorth.net/introducing-bdd This is from the article: public class CustomerLookupTest extends TestCase { testFindsCustomerById() { ... } testFailsForDuplicateCustomers() { ... } ... } renders something like this: CustomerLookup - finds customer by id - fails for duplicate customers - ... Unfortunately the tool quoted in the above article (testdox) is Java based. Is there one for .NET? Sounds like this would be something pretty simple to write, but I simply don't have the bandwidth and want to use something already written.

    So I'm trying to use Google Map suggest API to request place name suggestions. Unfortunately I can't find the docs for this bit. Here is an example URI: http://maps.google.com/maps/suggest?q=lon&cp=3&ll=55.0,-3.5&spn=11.9,1.2&hl=en&gl=uk&v=2 which returns: {suggestion:[{query:"London",... I want to use this in python (2.5). Now in proper JSON there would have been quotations around the keys like so: {"suggestion":[{"query":"London",... and I could have used simplejson or something, but as it is I'm a bit stuck. There are two possible solutions here; either I can get to the API code and find an option to return proper JSON, or I do that in python. Any ideas please.

Most of the formats in the variable are shown above- there are a couple of very rare others too. The reason why there are multiple formats is that the data were pulled together from various websites that each used different formats. I have tried using straightforward conversions e.g. strftime(mydf$date,"%d/%m/%Y") but these sorts of conversion will not work if there are multiple formats. I don't want to resort to multiple gsub type editing. I was wondering if I am missing a more simple solution?     I have this function that gets the fileData as a byte array and a file path. The error I am getting is when it tries to set the fileInfo in the code bewlo. It says 'Physical Path given, Virtual Path expected' public override void WriteBinaryStorage(byte[] fileData, string filePath) { try { // Create directory if not exists. System.IO.File.WriteAllBytes(System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath(filePath), fileData); } catch (Exception) { throw; } } When debugging it, is providing the filePath as "E:\\WEBS\\webapp\\default\\images\\mains\\myimage.jpg" . And the error message is 'E:/WEBS/webapp/default/images/mains/myimage.jpg' is a physical path, but a virtual path was expected. Also, what it is triggering this to happen is the following call properties.ResizeImage(imageName, Configurations.ConfigSettings.MaxImageSize, Server.MapPath(Configurations.EnvironmentConfig.LargeImagePath));

  • How can I convert a timestamp to a user-friendly time string

    I want to be able to present "today" and "yesterday" for recent dates in my application. I've got a date formatter in use currently to show dates (retrieved from data records) and will keep using this for anything more than a couple of days old. I just really like the way the SMS app in the iPhone shows dates for recent messages and would like to emulate this. The time-stamps that I have to work with are generated on a server that the phone downloads the data records from. All times are therefore generated at UTC (i.e. GMT) time. I've been fiddling about with this for a while the solutions I've devised just seem horribly long-winded. Can anyone suggest how to implement a method that could do this? Cheers - Steve.
