  • How to turn off particular monitor in C#?

    OK, I know there are quite a few posts on this topic. However, none of them provide the solution to my issue: I don't want just to turn off my monitor(s), I wish my code to turn off a specific monitor. The URL the most people refer to, http://fci-h.blogspot.com/2007/03/turn-off-your-monitor-via-code-c.html, doesn't help here, as it turns off all the displays. So, I have my laptop screen and an additional external monitor. While I'm watching movies, I switch the display to the external monitor and my laptop screen goes black, however, it's still on and glowing in the dark. I wish to turn it off. Could anyone help please? Thanks.

    I can't seem to get my ImageView to display its source image in its original size. The ImageView looks like this: <ImageView android:id="@+id/Logo" android:src="@drawable/logo" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" > </ImageView> The source image is 140 pixels wide, yet on the Nexus One's screen, which is 480 pixels wide it uses up half of the width. Using absolute values in px or dp for the width and height changes nothing. The image also looks very antialiased from the upscaling. Why is this happening and how can I prevent it?

    SQL Server Edition: 2008 Enterprise Visual Studio: 2010 w/ .NET 4.0 SSMS 2008 Addin - Data Scripter project source code on CodePlex references Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlTools.VSIntegration.dll I have referenced the DLL under <<Microsoft SQL Server install location>>\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE But here is the oddity. Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlTools.VSIntegration.dll contains a namespace Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.VSIntegration, which in turn contains ServiceCache (public sealed). As soon as I add the reference, ServiceCache is highlighted (meaning there is no reference issue) But the problem arises when I compile the project and VS 2010 throws up an error that it cannot find ServiceCache. The name 'ServiceCache' does not exist in the current context Why is that ServiceCache is not visible during compile time but looks like it's available right after adding the assembly? And Reflector does show that ServiceCache is part of the assembly that the project is referencing, but Visual Studio intellisense fails to display it. Any had this kind of problem?     I had a little bit of budget left at year end and I wanted to start a little skunk works project to display build status what everyone was working on (our team is aobut 10 folks all told). I am thinking to buy a 47" LCD HD TV and drive it from a small pc via a browser/.NET web application. I was going to build the software over the christmas break since we are closed for 2 weeks starting this Friday. I thought I would solicit advise/feedback on what other teams had done. a lot of the tools we use SVN, Mantis have RSS feeds that I was thinking to render. Is this the way to go ?   • Iphone - Displaying NSDate values in the debugger with local timezone

    Hello, I'm trying to debug my app and there is something very annoying in the debugger : all the NSDate values are displayed in the GMT timezone. So in my debugging process, I lose a lot of time converting by myself all the displayed dates to check if they are correct in the system timezone. As I have a lot of dates at midnight, even the day is displayed "wrong". It's a nightmare. Is there a way to make the debugger display the NSDate values in the iPhone system timezone (not the MacOS one nor GMT) ? I'm at GMT+1 Thank you for your help.

    My application keeps all Java Date's in UTC. Parsing them is easy, but when I print them out, the display shows the computer's local time zone, and I want to show it as UTC.   • Displaying name instead of ID PHP MySQL

    Hi, I need something simple; I have page where a user clicks an author to see the books associated with that author. On my page displaying the list of books for the author, I want a simple HTML title saying: 'The books for: AUTHORNAME' I can get the page to display author ID but not the name. When the user clicks the link in the previous page of the author, it looks likes this: <a href="viewauthorbooks.php?author_id=<?php echo $row['author_id']?>"><?php echo $row['authorname']?></a> And then on the 'viewauthorbooks.php?author_id=23' I have declared this at the start: $author_id = $_GET['author_id']; $authorname = $_GET['authorname']; And finally, 'The books for: AUTHORNAME, where it says AUTHORNAME, I have this: echo $authorname (With PHP tags, buts its not letting me put them in!) And this doesnt show anything, however if I change it to author_id, it displays the correct author ID that has been clicked, but its not exactly user friendly!! Can anyone help me out!

  • Updating a popup window from source page

    I have a list of people wrapped in a-tags with onclick for opening a popup window. That popup window contains a previous and next button that invoker a function in the parent window to get the previous/next a-tag and execute the onclick for it. nextAnchor.onclick(); This should update the popup window with the new persons info, but it doesn't update. Adding an alert("") right after makes it update. What i found searching is something about having to leaving the session before JavaScript will update the display and they suggested using setTimeout. Problem is i'm calling on a DOM element and i can't send it in to the setTimeout, so i ended up with setTimeout('eval("'+nextAnchor.getAttribute("onClick")+'")',10); So is there another way to make it update or a way of making the setTimeout use the onclick of a DOM element or is this an acceptable solution even though it uses eval?

However, I am an amateur when it comes to hardcoding GUI. I'm trying to get the first column only to be as wide as is needed by the text occupying it's cells The table is an unknown width, as are the columns/cells.

  • Need content in UIWebView to display quickly

    Part of my app caches web pages for offline viewing. To do that, I am saving the HTML fetched from a site and rewriting img urls to point to a file on the local store. When I load the html into a UIWebView, it loads the images as expected and everything's fine. I am also caching stylesheets in this fashion. The problem is that when I put the phone into airplane mode, loading this cached html causes the UIWebView to display a blank screen and pause for a while before displaying the page. I've figured out that it's caused by non-cached URLs referenced from the original HTML doc that the web view is trying to fetch. These other URLs include images within the cached stylesheets, content in iframes, and javascript that opens a connection to fetch other resources. The pause happens when the UIWebView tries to fetch these resources, and the web page only appears after all these other fetches have timed out. My questions is, how can I make UIWebView just display the stuff I've cached immediately? Here are my thoughts: write even more code to cache these other references. This is potentially a ton more code to catch all the edge cases, etc., especially having to parse the Javascript to see what it loads after the page is loaded force UIWebView to time out immediately so there's no pause. I haven't figured out how to do this. somehow get what's already loaded to display even though the external references haven't finished fetching yet strip the code of all scripts, link tags and iframes to "erase" the external references. I've tried this one, but for some sites, the resultant page is severely messed up Can anyone help me here? I've been working on this forever, and am running out of ideas.

    I want to create a display group generated from foreach() clause output. I can't seem to get the syntax correct. Here's the business logic: for each category row find the associated fees output the category description as a label and the fees as radio buttons then create a display group with the fees as the group elements and the category description as the legend.     I'm trying to display a simple DataGridView linked to a DataTable and I want, ultimately, my first column in the DataTable to be the row header cell for the DataGridView. At this point I will settle for having any value in the row header cell. I can display the DataGridView with all my rows and columns, and with column header cells, but no row header cell. I check the value in the row.HeaderCell.Value, and the data I put there is there. I check row.HeaderCell.Displayed and it is false, but this is read only, so I can't make it true. How do I make the row header cell display?     hi folks, I have a DataGridView bound to a table from a .sdf database through a BindSource. The date column display dates like "d/M/yyyy HH:mm:ss". e.: "27/2/1971 00:00:00". I want to make it display just "27/02/1971" in its place. I tried to apply DataGridViewCellStyle {format=dd/MM/yyyy} but nothing happens, event with other pre-built formats. On the the other side, there's a Form with a MasketTextBox with a "dd/MM/yyyy" mask to its input that is bound to the same column and uses a Parse and a Format event handler before display and send it to the db.   • Arch Linux with an nginx/django setup refuses to display ANYTHING

    I'm on Amazon Ec2, with an Arch Linux server. While I truly am loving it, I'm having the issue of actually getting nginx to display anything. Everytime I try to throw my hostname into the browser, the browser states that it's not available for some reason - almost as if the host doesn't even exist. One thing I'd like to know is, how can I get this up and running? Is there a specific arch linux configuration I have to do to make it web accessible? I have port 80 open, as well as port 22. I've tried using gunicorn, python-flup, and nginx. The thing is that Django itself is working fine, and my permissions to the document root of the where the site files are stored is 777. Ontop of that, I have a git repo which works perfectly fine, and django, python, and runfcgi all start without issues. The same goes for gunicorn, when I do a gunicorn_django -b 0.0.0.0:8000 in my document root. I wanted a wap version instead. What should I do?     Hello, I have a UIImagePickerController that is shown [self presentModalViewController:self.picker animated:NO]; Then later on the code, I allow the user to display a preference panel : PreferencesController *nextWindow = [[[PreferencesController alloc] initWithNibName:@"Preferences" bundle:nil] autorelease]; UINavigationController* navController = [[[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:nextWindow] autorelease]; [self presentModalViewController:navController animated:YES]; At this point, the new controller raises on the screen, but don't go to the top. Some space is left "transparent" at the top (I can see the camera view behind), and the bottom of the view is hidden out of the screen. The space I am talking about is about a status bar height. The status bar is not present on the screen. The navigation controller is hidden : self.navigationController.navigationBarHidden = YES; There is a toolbar at the top of the view. Nothing special into the view. The height of the view is defined at 480. All simulated element are set off in IB. The autoresize properties are all set on. I had a previous xib (I rebuilt it from scratch) that worked very well. I don't see what I missed on this one (I have only changed the xib, that replaces the previous one). I've cleaned the cache to be sure there was nothing left. No change... I've deleted everything in the new view to prevent some conflicts. No change... What did I miss ? How could I remove this empty space ?
