  • NetworkManager will not allow me to select WPA

    Hi I have a fresh install of Crunchbang (basically Ubuntu with Openbox instead of Gnome). In any case, I can't connect to my WPA network - when I click on it in the nm-applet and it asks me to authenticate my only options are: WEP 10/128-bit key WEP 128-bit Passphrase LEAP Dynamic WEP (802.1x) wpa_supplicant is indeed installed, yet WPA does not get listed... any ideas?

  • How to add HP 64 bit printers for printers that use universal printer driver to server 2003

    We have quite a few hp printers and I noticed now they all use the HP Universal printer driver which I added to the printer server (2003 serveR) but when someone on win7 64 bit tries to install the printer they still get an error that says no driver was found on the server for this printer. I don't have any problems with our canon's and Dells but they supply a driver for each model unlike hp who is going to this universal driver route which frankly I don't like. any ideas? thanks. Luc

  • HP ProBook 4540s CD/DVD Drive cannot Read Disks

    I seem to have a problem with the CD/DVD drive on my HP ProBook 4540s laptop. I cannot get it to read any disks. Normally, I would say that this is a hardware issue, but whenever I put a disk that previously could be read in the drive, it starts to make noise like it is trying to to read the disk but cannot and AnyDVD HD seems to be able to retrieve disk information with some struggle. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Found these line in SQL2008-Server Log on my Vista notebook. Yes my notebook is a member of a 2003 AD domain but now i'm offline. Any ideas?

  • A non interactive alternative to makecert.

    Dear ladies and sirs. I have a need to create a self signed certificate non interactively. Unfortunately, the only tool that I know of (makecert) is interactive - it uses GUI to ask for a password. My OS is Windows (from XP to 2008). The only thing close that I managed to find is http://www.codeproject.com/Tips/125982/How-to-run-Makecert-without-password-window.aspx, however, it is still not good. Any ideas?

  • Web Farm Framework - Adding servers are offline

    My problem is that im trying to setup a server farm but the nodes all come up as offline. I dont get a connection error saying that the servername is wrong, but get "offline" after it "test connection" I have: - Setup firewalls rules to allow Remote and file share on Domain and private network - Installed WWF 2.0 on both servers - Account that im using is a domain account that is Administrator on both machines. www01 is the same server as the controller below, but same results if i try www02 as primary. Any ideas?

    Hi I have a MySQL server that I need access through a VPN. I use MySQLdb package to access MySQL server in Python. When I can access the server without VPN, it works fine, but when I'm at certain locations, I need to connect through VPN. My computer is connected to the VPN and I can access the database through PHPMyAdmin, but MySQLdb gives me an error message: OperationalError: (2003, "Can't connect to MySQL server on 'MY_IP' (10061)") Any ideas on why it's not working?     Hi I need to control a Windows 7 PC via VNC from a Mac in an office LAN. Since the IPs are dynamically assigned, I'd like the PC to appear in my "Places" and in the automatically detected nearby servers in VNC client I'm using -- both of which require the PC to advertise its VNC server via Samba (right?). I tried installing ultravnc, which works when I access it directly by IP, but it doesn't seem to advertise itself in the network. Any ideas?

  • Instructions per cycle?

    I've been learning a little bit more about how processors work, but I haven't been able to find a straight answer about instructions per cycle. For instance, I was under the impression that a four core CPU could execute four instructions per cycle, so a four core CPU running at 2Ghz would execute 8 billion operations per second. Is this the case? I'm sure it's oversimplifying things, but if there's a guide or something else I can use to set myself straight, I'm definitely open to ideas.

    Hi guys, I have a TV tuner (Hauppage diversity), and I would like to be able to see live TV from Windows Media Player. I've searched the web, but havent found anything on how to make Windows Media Player to access a TV tuner.   • iPhoto & iPhone Album order is different

    I can't seem to find any answers to this, I have around 100 albums in iPhoto on my Mac, they are all synced to my iPhone, but on the phone they are just being displayed in a seeming random order. I have removed all the photos from the phone and started again, but they go back in the same order. In iPhoto the albums are actually in alphabetical order, have I've clicked the sort albums option, but this did nothing? Any ideas?

  • HP Server Automation - agent misreporting hostname

    I've been using HP Server Automation for some time, but have noticed an interesting issue I'm hoping the SF community has seen / knows a workaround to. When the management agent on Solaris or RHEL (only platforms I've noticed it on) reports the hostname of the managed server, it does not return the value of hostname, it returns the first alias to that entry in /etc/hosts. Any ideas on how to get around that? Other than editing /etc/hosts so the alias is at the end of the line instead of the front?
