• Visual Studio - Project with that name already opened in the solution

  I recently migrated a VSS database to TFS 2008. Using Source Control Explorer, I got the latest version of a solution with 12 projects. When I opened the solution in VS 2005, two of the projects were not found. I am not sure why these two projects were not found, but thought it easiest to just delete and re-add them to the solution. When I do this, VS gives me a "A project with that name is already open in the solution." The project doesn't appear in solution explorer, and is not listed in the .sln file. Any ideas?

• Win32Exception: The directory name is invalid

  Hello, i get the following error when trying to compile my asp.net site after updating the project from vs2008 to vs2010 The type or namespace name 'Syndication' does not exist in the namespace 'System.ServiceModel' (are you missing an assembly reference?) I have the asp.net site targeting 3.5 framework (as it did in vs2008) I also added a reference to System.ServiceModel.Web I also have these using statements at the top of my class: using System.ServiceModel; using System.ServiceModel.Description; using System.ServiceModel.Syndication; using System.ServiceModel.Web; The last 2 complain with the error above, commenting them out produces errors (cannot find WebGet, etc.) like it flipflops. Anyone have any ideas?

  I create a simple table in SqlServer .. key field integer, 4 strings and a Timestamp This Table is called Event .. which pluralizes to Events.(the checkbox was ticked) I run the Entity Builder in VS2010 just adding this table only. EntityModelXXX x = new EntityModelXXX(); // create an object 'e' here x.AddToEvents(e); produces an error : The EntitySet name 'EntityModelXXX.Events' could not be found. It doesn't seem to find the set .. why?

• Modify the Event Log Source name for an SSIS package

  I have an SQL Server integration Services (SSIS) package using the standard Event Log provider (yes, the event log! I know we can use SQL etc...) The default "Source" of the log events is "SQLISPackage100" but I want it to be something like "AppName" so that the errors are more visible between the different packages when viewing the event log (also for MOM use). Event Type: Error Event Source: SQLISPackage100 Event Category: None ... Description: Package "Foo" failed. I hope the answer is simple, I simply cannot find it, but does anyone know how to change the text of the Event Log Source name to something more meaningful? PK :-)

• Silverlight themee error: Cannot find a Resource with the Name/Key System.Windows.Controls.Primitive

  I have got an(other) error while trying to upgrade our large project to SL4. I didn't write the original theme and my theme knowlege isn't great. In my SL3 app I have a datagrid themed like so: <!--Datagrid Style--> <Style TargetType="datagrid:DataGrid"> <Setter Property="RowHeaderStyle" Value="{StaticResource System.Windows.Controls.Primitives.DataGridRowHeader}"/> <Setter Property="RowBackground" Value="Transparent"/> <Setter Property="etc" Value="..."/> </Style> When I upgrade to SL 4 the first line in the XAML above gives a runtime error: Cannot find a Resource with the Name/Key System.Windows.Controls.Primitives.DataGridRowHeader Should I handle this differently in SL4? • Sporadic name resolution failure happening on web service call

  One of our wcf service applications calls a seperate third party web service to submit information. We are getting the following error every so often, but not all the time: System.Net.WebException: The remote name could not be resolved: 'ws.examplesite.net' at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetRequestStream() at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) The wierd thing is that after the error happens, we can hit "Submit" again a second later and it will go through just fine. We have checked and double checked with our network guys and they have confirmed that DNS is correct, and they have done multiple nslookups in a row to confirm. This is happening in all environments (dev, test and prod). We use the third party test and prod urls, and it is happening when we point to both. Does anyone have any other trouble shooting techniques for this or any reason this would happen? Much thanks, ~Ansley

  I'm working through the book "The Definitive Guide to Django" and am stuck on a piece of code. This is the code in my settings.py: ROOT_URLCONF = 'mysite.urls' I have the following code in my urls.py from django.conf.urls.defaults import * from mysite.views import hello, my_homepage_view urlpatterns = patterns('', ('^hello/$', hello), ) urlpatterns = patterns('', ('^time/$', current_datetime), ) And the following is the code in my views.py file: from django.http import HttpResponse import datetime def hello(request): return HttpResponse("Hello World") def current_datetime(request): now = datetime.datetime.now() html = "<html><body>It is now %s.</body></html>" % now return HttpResponse(html) Yet, I get the following error when I test the code in the development server. NameError at /time/ name 'current_datetime' is not defined Can someone help me out here? This really is just a copy-paste from the book. I don't see any mistyping.

  Hello, Does anyone know what does the following error mean: +entityForName: could not locate an NSManagedObjectModel for entity name 'TAB_RSS' I noticed my frameworks were highlighted in red UIKIT.framework, Foundation.framework and CoreGraphics.framework. I've now added these but am getting a warning message stating "missing required architecture i386 in file". I think this may be related to the above error. I found another post that may help me http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...e-i386-in-file but I can't find my project.pbxproj file. I think i need to edit this and remove references to the FRAMEWORK_SEARCH_PATHS. Stephen

• wpf toolkit (Feb 2010) datagrid with MVVM - style reveals name of view model on 'spare column'

  Hi, I've just updated my app with the latest WPF toolkit and I've now got an issue with my styling. When I bind some data with, for example, two columns to the grid, the spare area at the right shows the name of the ViewModel in the header. I can understand why, because the data grids data context is the ViewModel and I'm defining my header style as follows ... <WpfToolkit:DataGridHeaderBorder <Border BorderBrush="Blue" BorderThickness="0,1,0,0"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding}" Margin="4,0,4,0" /> </Border> </WpfToolkit:DataGridHeaderBorder> Do I now need a separate style for the 'spare column' or something? • The Difference between Sharepoint Document Title and Document Name

  I am sorry to ask you guys such a low-level question, but I really can not find out the answer. Hope some mad dogs will not bark for my question. A colleague of mine developed a workflow which auto set title to document. With this workflow,as he put it, he can optimize the research and lookup things like that. However I think it can be done just by name of document. There are must be some kind of story behind this. Could someone help me here? Thanks!

  Is there a way to navigate between tabs in VS similar to the emacs iswtichb-mode or Firefox ubiquity switch tab mode (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Labs/Ubiquity/Ubiquity_0.1_Author_Tutorial#Switching_Tabs) ? In these apps, you just type a substring of the title of the tab (or buffer for emacs) to switch to this tab. For instance, to switch to a tab named "App_Code/Data/MyProgram.cs", you just invoke the tab switching command and then type "Progr" for instance to list all the tab whose name matches this string, including "MyProgram.cs". It's much easier to switch between tabs this way when you have a lot of documents open and when you now where to go (which is the case in most situation) Thank you !

  After converting a Hybrid ASP.NET MVC1 app to MVC2 I'm getting the following error when I try and run the application: The type or namespace name 'Mvc' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Web' (are you missing an assembly reference?) The allegeded culprit in the web.config file is System.Web.Mvc: <namespaces> <add namespace="System.Web.Mvc"/> <add namespace="System.Web.Mvc.Ajax"/> <add namespace="System.Web.Mvc.Html"/> So far my investigation seems to lead me to believe that version 2 of System.Web.Mvc is not installed or has not been picked up. I've tried creating a File New Project based on MVC 2 and that's picking up the new (v2) version of MVC. I've also converted some other projects (that were not hybrids) and they've converted without problem to MVC2. I've also uninstalled MVC1 to try and remove references to it from the GAC. However, none of this has worked. Any ideas?

  I am trying to create an ActionScript 3 class that implements two interfaces. The interfaces contain member functions with different signatures but the same name: public interface IFoo { function doStuff(input:int):void; } public interface IBar { function doStuff(input1:String, input2:Number):void; } public class FooBar implements IFoo, IBar { // ??? } In C# this problem can be solved with explicit interface implementations, but as far as I can tell ActionScript does not have that feature. Is there any way to create a class that implements both interfaces?

  Is it possible for me to have a conditional in XSLT such that I find and replace only the FIRST tag of a particular tag name? For example, I have an XML file with many tags. I would like to replace the first of these tags with . The rest should be left alone. How would I do this in my transform? What I currently have is this: <xsl:template match="title"> <PageTitle> <xsl:apply-templates /> </PageTitle> </xsl:template> which finds all tags and replaces them with PageTitle. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  Hi, I have a list of ordered items, ordered according to the int field order. I'm creating a gallery in CakePHP 1.2 that has a prev and next button and those should link to the previous and next item according to their ordering, not according to their id. In order to get this result I've included the 'order' parameter to the find function, and populated it with 'Item.order'=>'DESC'. Still the result is an id ordered list. My question is: what do I do wrong? My controller: $this->Item->id = 16; $neighbours = $this->Item->find('neighbors', array('order'=>array('Item.order'=>'DESC'), 'fields'=>array('id','name')));

• Mercurial hg clone error - "abort: error: Name or service not known"

  I have installed the latest hg package available for Fedora Linux. However, hg clone reports an error. hg clone http://localmachine001:8000/ repository reports: "abort: error: Name or service not known" localmachine001 is a computer within the local network. I can ping it from my Linux box without any problems. I can also use the same http address and browse the existing code. However, hg clone does not work. If I execute the same command from my Macintosh machine, I can easily clone the repository. Some Internet resources recommend editing .hgrc file, and adding proxy to it: [http_proxy] host=proxy:8080 I have tried that without any success. Also, I assume that proxy is not needed in this case, since the hg server machine is in my local network. Can anyone recommend me what should I do, or how could I track the problem?   I have an OpenGl program in which I am displaying an image using textures. I want to be able to load a new image to be displayed. In my Init function I call: Gl.glGenTextures(1, mTextures); Since only one image will be displayed at time, I am using the same texture name for each image. Each time a new image is loaded I call the following: Gl.glBindTexture(Gl.GL_TEXTURE_2D, mTexture[0]); Gl.glTexImage2D(Gl.GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, Gl.GL_LUMINANCE, mTexSizeX, mTexSizeY, 0, Gl.GL_LUMINANCE, Gl.GL_UNSIGNED_SHORT, mTexBuffer); Gl.glTexParameteri(Gl.GL_TEXTURE_2D, Gl.GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, Gl.GL_LINEAR); Gl.glTexParameteri(Gl.GL_TEXTURE_2D, Gl.GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER, Gl.GL_LINEAR); The first image will display as expected. However, all images load after the first, display as all black. What am I doing wrong?

• Can I force MySql table name case sensitivity on file systems that aren't case sensitive

  So our target environment is linux, making mysql case-sensitive by default. I am aware that we can make our linux environment not case sensitive with the lower_case_table_names variable, but we would rather not. We have a few times been bitten with a case mismatch because our dev rigs are OSX, and mysql is not case sensitive there. Is there a way we can force table names to be case sensitive on my OSX install of MySql (5.0.83 if that matters) so that we catch a table name case mismatch prior to deploying to the integration servers running on linux?

• Project name inserted automatically in url when using django template url tag

  I am applying the 'url' template tag to all links in my current Django project. I have my urls named like so... url(r'^login/$', 'login', name='site_login'), This allows me to access /login at my site's root. I have my template tag defined like so... <a href="{% url site_login %}"> It works fine, except that Django automatically resolves that url as /myprojectname/login, not /login. Both urls are accessible. Why? Is there an option to remove the projectname? This occurs for all url tags, not just this one.

  Hi All, I need a bit of WCF help. This project uses message contracts. The transport seems to work ok. I have this code for a response type. namespace tpoke.Contracts { [MessageContract(IsWrapped = true)] public class AuthenticationResponseMC { [MessageBodyMember(Name = "authentication-token")] public Guid AuthenticationToken; } } Now when I run the operation that returns this, I try to deserialize using the XmlSerializer. The is not what I'm needing. I need it to be <authentication-token xmlns="http://tpoke.wcf.com">e13xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxx</authentication-token> How can I make this work correctly? Do I need to add the namespace to MessageBodyMember? Why is the hyphen being stripped out? Any tips or advice is certainly appreciated. Thanks, ~ck in San Diego

  I'm trying to set up the simple syndication example from the Django docs, in a working project. But I'm getting an ImportError, even though I'm sure I've copied the example exactly. Here's what I have in feeds.py: from django.contrib.syndication.views import Feed class LatestEntriesFeed(Feed): # etc And here's what I have in urls.py: from election.feeds import LatestEntriesFeed #... further down, at the appropriate line... # RSS feed (r'^feed/$', LatestEntriesFeed()), But Django says it can't import the Feed class from django.contrib.syndication.views: ImportError at /feed/ cannot import name Feed ....feeds.py in <module> from django.contrib.syndication.views import Feed Any ideas? I'm baffled!
