• ASP.NET: Enumerating header elements from codebehind

  On Page_Load() in the codebehind, I'd like to enumerate all the <link> tags. The purpose being I want want to add a <link> to a CSS file if it isn't specified in the Page's markup. How can I do this? I'm thinking I should be able to use LINQ on the collection of elements in the header, no? • Hibernate Communications Link Failure in Hibernate Based Java Servlet application powered by MySQL

  Let me describe my question - I have a Java application - Hibernate as the DB interfacing layer over MySQL. I get the communications link failure error in my application. The occurence of this error is a very specific case. I get this error , When I leave mysql server unattended for more than approximately 6 hours (i.e. when there are no queries issued to MySQL for more than approximately 6 hours). I am pasting a top 'exception' level description below, and adding a pastebin link for a detailed stacktrace description. javax.persistence.PersistenceException: org.hibernate.exception.JDBCConnectionException: Cannot open connection - Caused by: org.hibernate.exception.JDBCConnectionException: Cannot open connection - Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure - The last packet successfully received from the server was 1,274,868,181,212 milliseconds ago. I have been reading up a bit about this via google search, and came to know that one of the possible ways to overcome this is to set values for c3p0 properties as c3p0 comes bundled with Hibernate. Specifically, I read from here http://www.mchange.com/projects/c3p0/index.html that setting two properties idleConnectionTestPeriod and preferredTestQuery will solve this for me. But these values dont seem to have had an effect. Is this the correct approach to fixing this? If not, what is the right way to get over this? • How to REALLY focus a link using jQuery / javascript

  Calling the jQuery focus() method on a link appears to only partially focus the link. Whilst the link has focus to the extent that pressing ENTER follows the link, it doesn't take on the default outline styling (or adopt any styling set via the :focus pseudo-class), nor is the tab-order correctly 'entered'. Any ideas on how to resolve this? (results observed in Firefox 3.6.2)

• Why does my PowerShell script hang when called in PSEXEC via a batch (.cmd) file?

  I'm trying to remotely execute a PowerShell script using PSEXEC. The PowerShell script is called via a .cmd batch file. The reason we do this is to change the execution policy, run the powershell script then reset the execution policy again: On the remote server do-tasks.cmd looks like: powershell -command "&{ set-executionpolicy unrestricted}" powershell DoTasks.ps1 powershell -command "&{ set-executionpolicy restricted}" The PowerShell script DoTasks.ps1 just does this for now: Write-Output "Hello World!" Both of these scripts live in c:\windows\system32 (for now) just so they're on the PATH. On the originating server I do this: psexec \\web1928 -u administrator -p "adminpassword" do-tasks.cmd When this runs I get the following response at the command line: c:\Windows\system32>powershell -command "&{ set-executionpolicy unrestricted}" and the script runs no further. I can't ctrl-c to break the script and I just see ^C characters, I can type input from the keyboard and the characters are echoed to console. On the remote server I see that PowerShell.exe and CMD.exe are running in Task Manager's Process tab. If I end these processes then control returns to the command line on the originating server. I have tried this with just a simple .cmd batch file with a @echo hello world and it works just fine. Running do-tasks.cmd on the remote server via an RDP session works ok as well. Why is my remote batch file getting stuck when executing via PSEXEC?

  This is not a dupe. Please read and understand the issue before marking this as a duplicate question that has been answered already. Several customers are reporting bounce messages like the one below. At first I thought their computers had a virus but then I received one that was server generated so the problem is with the server. I've inspected the logs and these email addresses do not appear in the logs. • Turn Off Google Chrome Annoying Link Hover

  I like Google Chrome a lot, but there are two problems I have with it. The Address Bar search history feature that I want to turn off, and the feature where I hover over a hyperlink and in the bottom lefthand corner it shows a light blue hover tooltip about where that link goes. I really don't care where a given link goes and wish I could turn that feature off, even if I have to install a Google Chrome Extension. So, for these two reasons, I will not install Google Chrome as my primary browser and will remain with Firefox. So, is there a fix to turn the annoying link hover tooltip feature off?

• Hot Link To A Specific Cell Comment In Excel 2007

  Is there a way to create a comment for cell D7 (for example) such that when the user hovers over it the comment has a hot link or hyperlink to cell A100? I dont know what else to call it other than a hot link or hyperlink, however its not like the hyperlink we know of in HTML. Or, maybe it could it be? The effect that is desired is that when the user sees that comment, he/she can click on the link to cell A100 if they choose to do so. I do not wish to create a macro or use VBA behind a button, etc.. It must be within the comment box itself. One of the issues I have run into is that once you move the mouse, the comment goes away. The comment might be able to be displayed all the time if it needs to be for this to work.

  I am creating a server topology for one of our SharePoint farms and thought it would be easy to just link the Excel spreadsheet with our server information to the Visio drawing to auto-populate some things. It didn't work out that well, but the drawing is finished without it now. I cannot remove the link between the Excel spreadsheet and the Visio diagram. Whenever the drawing is opened the linked excel server list opens in a pane at the very bottom of the window. How would I eliminate the data link? Or just the spreadsheet from view when being opened?

  Using ThunderBird 3 on Windows 7. When I get a mail with a link, I usually click it, if I know what it's about. Sadly, Thunderbird switches to Firefox which is opening the new tab. I'm active on several forums and get several of these messages per day. I don't want to click a link, be forced into firefox, go back to thunderbird, click a link, be forced into Firefox, etc... Is there an option to disable this? If not, I can see myself quitting Thunderbird altogheter and simply using web-based email checking instead of using an app.

• Autologin 2 Windows users OR Login another user from the desktop

  I'm using two windows users on my HTPC at the same time. One is just for watching videos and one for administration via remote. This setup is quite ideal for me since windows can handle multiple concurrent logins and the win "rdp concurrent hack" (Google). The problem is, I want both users to be logged in automatically when the pc was started. It shall be possible to watch tv and also the admin user shall be automatically logged in to start my scripts and other tasks, even if I haven't logged in via remote desktop manually. Later, when I want to admin my htpc I can just rdp connect the admin user without interrupting the video playback on the actual HTPC's screen and check my cleanup tasks, downloads, ... witch already executed for this admin user. But right now I found no solution to automatically login user A from a user B desktop and I also found no solution to autologin both users immediately at startup. As a workaround I have to fire up my other notebook machine and login one time with the remote user via rdp. From this time on the remote admin user is running concurrent with the main user in the background of the machine. The other workaround would be... after startup switch user from main user to admin user and then back again. But that also requires manual steps. I'm on a Windows 8 System right now but all infos for Win7 or XP would be also interesting. thanks a lot for all ideas. PS: just to prevent useless posts... don't tell me that only one user can be logged in to windows. ;)

• Link to user directory displayed with wrong name in start menu

  In the start menu the link to my user directory is displayed with a wrong name e.g. foo When I click on the link in the start menu the explorer opens my correct user directory but the addressbar still names it foo. However, when I open a cmd from that directory the location is correctly shown as C:\Users\myUserName. Furthermore there is no C:\Users\foo directory. How can I fix this (i.e. ths link in the startmenu should be named myUserName)?

  Situation: A small LAN comprising a Windows 7 Ultimate x54 PC, 2 XP Pro x86 PCs and an Asus router.The Win 7 box has IPv6 enabled. There are no other IPv6 enabled devices on the LAN. In my firewall I see numerous requests originating from the Win 7 PC, which are for the Multicast address ff02::1:ff.... which is a Solicited-Node address query and has a scope of 2 which equates to the local link. As far as I knew local link addresses are filtered by routers, hence local link. Given that situation I'm wondering why I'm seeing these queries being generated to various addresses? Any ideas?   I have an Ubuntu 12.04 installed using wubi + Win7. I'm trying to create a link to "my documents" directory which located in my C drive: C:\Users\Myuser\My Documents\ Since the Ubuntu is installed in D:\, which is the "host", my C drive is accessible via /media/some_changing_hex. This hex get changed each time I restart my machine. So I need, somehow, to create a link that uses regex OR a link that somehow gets the the first (in this case - only) subdirectory in /media (something like all_subdirectories[0]). So how do I do that?

• Can not connect remotely to MySQL Server on Ubuntu 10.10

  Ok I have searched google for two days trying to get this to work. Here are the steps I have taken so far: Clean install of Ubuntu 10.10 Install mysql 5.1 as well as admin Comment out the bind address in the config file Create a new database Create a new user that is username@% to allow remote connections Grant all access to this user to the new database EXCEPT the grant option Login on the server is ok using this new user and database on the localhost Login on the server is ok using this new user and database on the server internal network ip Login from a remote computer is ok using this new user and database using the internal network ip Login is not working when logging in with this username and database using the external ip address from the server or the remote computer. I have port forwarding enabled for this port and it is viewable from outside as confirmed by canyouseeme.org I have nmap'd using the following command on the internal ip and get the below result: nmap -PN -p 3306 192.168.1.73 Starting Nmap 5.21 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2011-02-19 13:41 PST Nmap scan report for computername-System-Name (192.168.1.73) Host is up (0.00064s latency). PORT STATE SERVICE 3306/tcp open mysql Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 0.23 seconds I have nmap'd using the following command on the internal ip and get the below result(I have hidden ip for obvious reasons): nmap -PN -p 3306 xxx.xxx.xx.xxx Starting Nmap 5.21 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2011-02-19 13:42 PST Nmap scan report for HOSTNAME (xxx.xxx.xx.xxx) Host is up (0.00056s latency). PORT STATE SERVICE 3306/tcp closed mysql Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 0.21 seconds I am completely stuck here and need some help. I have tried everything under the moon and still can not connect from a remote external ip address. Any help is greatly appreciated and I need to do anything to help find the problem let me know and I will post the results here.

  Hi We're having issues inserting links into rich text in Sitecore 6.1.0. • Multiple Users use Script to Access Remote Server via Passwordless SSH

  I am currently setting up a linux box that is tied into Active Directory. This box will allow users to SSH into it with their AD username and password to gather information (Box A). The issue is I am trying to create a function in /etc/bash.bashrc so the users has to do is type "get_info" for example, the function will SSH into a remote machine (Box B) run a command and output the information back to the user. The issue with this is, I have generated a rsa key on Box A, added it to the Box B authorized_keys and it works fine. The issue I am running into is, how do I set this up one time for the current users and any new user who logs into Box A. Is there a better approach than what I am currently doing. Essentially I just need to connect to the remote box, run a command, output the information back to the user and that is it. How can I allow new users to connect via a script to the remote box without having to generate RSA keys for them. The get_info fuction will be supplied a value 'get_info 012345' and returns the results.

• SQL Server 2008: Can't connect to remote server via management studio but can telnet in fine

  Hi, I am in the process of trying to configure SQL Server 2008 to accept remote connections. I have been through all the documentation I can find and yet when I attempt to connect through management studio I get an error stating that the server could not be found. Interestingly I can connect through telnet to the remote server via the port that sql server is listening on. In the SQL Server logs I can see the connection attempt. So SQL Server is up and running and listening on the correct port - no firewall blocking it. It would appear that by default SQL Server is listening on port 50314 by default but management studio attempts to connect on port 1433.Weird. Server Management Studio = no dice. Anyone got any ideas? Server is set to allow remote connections - TCP IP is enabled, firewall is off. Thanks UPDATE FOR TO CLEAR THINGS UP A BIT We are seeing the connection attempt when we telnet in on port 50314 in the sql server logs. When we login through management studio we see it attempting connection on port 1433. There is no sign of this connection attempt in the logs.

• VMWare Converter - Remote Linux Install P2V

  I am trying to get what I thought was an easy process working. Here is my situation. I have a remote linux server (running Debian) that I would like to turn into a VM so that I can do testing on it rather than the production server. I downloaded VMWare Converter. I went to the "convert machine" wizard, chose Powered-on machine, entered my remote machine details. Clicking next shows that it correctly connects to my remote linux box. Now, on the next screen, for Destination type, it enters "WMWare Infrastructure virtual machine", and I can't change this. This is where I am stuck. Why do I need another sever to convert with? Is this where my VM gets sent to? And why can't I just convert the VM and save it on the computer that I am running the converter program on? If I do have to use a vmware infrastructure destination, I am confused at what ESX is, why and how I use it. Any help with this process would be more than appreciated!
