• Is it possible to compile Silverlight controls project with Nant?

  Hi all, I am attempting to compile my Silverlight control project with Nant without luck. Since my project contains XAML files, I am not sure if Nant is capable of generating the .g.cs files from the XAML file to be compiled into the project. I have come across posts where people suggest using the MsBuild task. Is there a way to avoid using the MsBuild task and compile the project using just Nant? I am not against using the MsBuild task. But would prefer to not use it if possible. Thank You, Vish

• How to pause a setTimeout call ?

  Im using jQuery and working on a notification system for my site. The notifications automatically fadeout using the setTimeout function. How can i stop the timer of the setTimeout call? For example i would like to pause the setTimeout call while the mouse is over the notification and continue the count down mouseout... I googled "pause setTimeout" with no luck. Im currently clearing the setTimeout call with clearTimeout and at same time fading out the notification on mouseout but it would be nice to have that pause effect. Any ideas?

• mysql.sock file missing after installing MySQL on Snow Leopard

  This is a recent problem... MySQL was working and a couple of days ago I must have done something. I deleted MySQL and tried reinstalling using the .dmg file. The mysql.sock file never gets created and I get the following error messages: Hristo$ mysql Enter password: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) I also tried stopping Apache and installing but Apache gave me an error... I don't know if this is good or bad: Hristo$ sudo apachectl stop launchctl: Error unloading: org.apache.httpd I tried the MacPorts installation as well but the socket file still didn't get created. I don't really know what to do and I don't want to reinstall Snow Leopard and start from scratch :/ I also tried installing the 32-bit version and same deal. No luck. Any ideas? Thanks, Hristo

  Hi everyone, I'm searching for an algorithm to calculate the average distance between a point and a line segment in 3D. So given two points A(x1, y1, z1) and B(x2, y2, z2) that represent line segment AB, and a third point C(x3, y3, z3), what is the average distance between each point on AB to point C? I'm also interested in the average distance between two line segments. So given segment AB and CD, what is the average distance from each point on AB to the closest point on CD? I haven't had any luck with the web searches I've tried, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

• Can't change data type on MS Access 2007

  Hi All, I have a huge database (800MB) which consists of a field called 'Date Last Modified' at the moment this field is entered as a text data type but need to change it to a Date/Time field to carry out some queries. I have another exact same database but with only 35MB of data inside it and when I change the data type it works fine, but when I try to change data type on big database it gives me an error: Micorosoft Office Access can't change the data type. There isn't enough disk space or memory After doing some research some sites mentioned of changing the registry file (MaxLocksPerFile) tried that as well, but no luck :-( Can anyone help please?

• Android TranslateAnimation after scrollTo() = undrawn view

  This might be a "duh" question but I'm going to go ahead and ask it anyway. I have an oversized (bigger than the screen) RelativeLayout, and I'm using swipes to start a TranslateAnimation from viewing one part of the layout to another. Say for instance the layout is two screen wide and two screens tall. After the nice animation to shift the screen, I was using View.scrollTo() to set the new position. This works fine going from the first screen (top left at 0,0) to one of the others. When I swipe to animate back to the first screen though, because the View.scrollTo() invalidated that part of the layout (I assume), that part of the layout is all black as I animate through it. I tried a couple things to get it to redraw itself after the scrollTo() but haven't had any luck, so I figured I'd ask here. thanks! joe d

• JQuery AJAX is not sending UTF-8 to my server, only in IE.

  I am sending UTF-8, japanese text, to my server. It works in Firefox. My access.log and headers are: /ajax/?q=%E6%BC%A2%E5%AD%97 Accept-Charset ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Content-Type application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8 Howeer, in IE8, my access.log says: /ajax/?q=?? For some reason, IE8 is turning my AJAX call into question marks. Why!? I added the scriptCharset and ContentType according to some tutorials, but still no luck. I guess that it has something to do with the actual placement of the WHERE row in the query, so I tried to move it around, but without any luck. What can I do?

• Reorganizing many to many relationships in Django

  I have a many to many relationship in my models and i'm trying to reorganize it on one of my pages. My site has videos. On each video's page i'm trying to list the actors that are in that video with links to each time they are in the video(the links will skip to that part of the video) Here's an illustration Flash Video embedded here Actors... It doesn't seem to be possible in the template using djangos orm. I've tried a couple things with creating dictionaries/lists but i've had no luck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

• Programmatically compose images into one grid in Deep Zoom

  Folks, the problem: there are individual 1MB images that represent a grid of images that should be placed side-by-side with no overlap and then conveted/exported to deepzoom. Image are named by row and column like image_col_row.jpg. The challenge: the total number of images in thousands, which makes it prohibitive for manual composition and exporting in DZC. I tried to first stitch images programmaticall into one huge image, then to use DZC - no luck cause the exporting chocked with the size. if you tried programmaticall compose and export deepzoom, please point me into the right direction. • how to add "Existing solution folder recursively" to my VS2005 solution

  I tried drag and drop from the explorer, but no luck with following error: "Folders cannot be dropped or pasted as solution items. Choose an individual document instead." I know we can create each folders/subfolders manually and add each file, but any quick way to do this on visual studio 2005? Updated: Thank you for the reply, but I do not want the folders to be added under any project, It should appear as a separate node inside my solution, like any other project. In this case the show all files does not work, since the solution itself does not have any folder, it is only if we select any project it works. I know we can create each folders/subfolders manually and add each file, but any quick way, because there are few hundreds of files.

• Using Haml & Sass with Eclipse

  Are there any plugins for eclipse that add syntax highlighting and other niceties for editing Haml and Sass? Google searches only seem to point to a dead project on lucky-dip.net. Note: it's Sass I'm most interested in. A solution for using just Sass (or something similar to it like less) in Eclipse would suit my needs. Also, I'm developing for Google App Engine (Java), using the App Engine plugin for Eclipse. So switching to another IDE isn't an option. Update: So I've got syntax highlighting now using Pascal's answer and I've installed Ruby and Compass to compile sass into css. However I'm aware that the syntax of sass will be changing with 2.4 so I'd still like to get the Haml and Sass Editors that come with Aptana to work. When I tried to use them they threw an exception and wouldn't display the files. I'd be interested to know if that's because I misconfigured Aptana or is an actual bug in the editors. I'd also be very interested in any way of compiling Sass that integrated with Ecplise so that I didn't have to run something separate from it. (or a way of putting Sass/Compass in the Ecplise build process.)

• Delphi 10, .NET, how do I convert a hex UTF-8 string to its unicode character?

  Hi all, I am trying to make my web app compatible with international languages and I am stuck with trying to convert escaped characters in my Delphi .NET DLL. The front end code is passing the UTF-8 hex notation with an escape character e.g for ? I pass \uE3818A. In my DLL I capture this and constract the following string '$E3828A'. I need to convert this back to ? and send it to my database, I've been trying to use Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes and Encoding.UTF8.GetString but with no luck. Anyone could help me figure this out?   Hi, I'm trying to use variable in variable in conjunction with delayed expansion but still no luck. SETLOCAL EnableDelayedExpansion SET ERROR_COMMAND=exit /B ^!ERRORLEVEL^! This is my last try. I want to setup an ERROR_COMMAND to be called when one of the steps in batch file crashes. The command is supposed to be: IF ERRORLEVEL 1 !ERROR_COMMAND! or IF ERRORLEVEL 1 %ERROR_COMMAND% The thing is, I'm not able to find out, how to SET properly the ERROR_COMMAND variable, so that ERRORLEVEL is not evaluated at the time of assignment, but at the time of evaluating the variable Of course I can copy&paste the code all over the batch file, but using the variable just seems a bit prettier...   Hello. I have a file of IP addresses called "IPs". When I parse a new IP from my logs, I'd like to see if the new IP is already in file IPs, before I add it. I know how to add the new IP to the file, but I'm having trouble seeing if the new IP is already in the file. !/usr/bin/python from IPy import IP IP = IP('192.168.1.2') f=open(IP('IPs', 'r')) #This line doesn't work f=open('IPs', 'r') # this one doesn't work for line in f: if IP == line: print "Found " +IP +" before" f.close() In the file "IPs", each IP address is on it's own line. • Override tooltip text for Titlebar buttons (Close, Maximize, Minimize, Help)

  I have been trying without luck to change the text of the tooltip that appears for the buttons on the main title bar of a form. In a nutshell, we have harnessed the 'Help' button for Windows Forms to have some other purpose. This is working fine. The issue is that when hovering the mouse over that button, a 'Help' tooltip appears, which doesn't make any sense for the application. Ideally, there would be some way to change the text of that tooltip for my application; however, at this point I would be satisfied just finding a way to disable the tooltips altogether. I know that you can disable the tooltips for the entire OS by modifying the 'UserPreferencesMask' key in regedit, but I would really like a way to have this only affect my application. Again, ideally there would be some way to do this with managed code, but I would not be opposed to linking into the Windows API or the like. Thanks for any suggestions for resolving this issue!

  Hi All, I'm having a bit of trouble with regex's (C#, ASP.NET), and I'm pretty sure I'm doing something fundamentally wrong. My task is to bind a dynamically created gridview to a datasource, and then iterate through a column in the grid, looking for the string "A&I". An example of what the data in the cell (in template column) looks like is: Name: John Doe Phone: 555-123-1234 Email: [email protected] Dept: DHS-A&I-MRB Here's the code I'm using to find the string value: foreach(GridViewRow gvrow in gv.Rows) { Match m = Regex.Match(gvrow.Cells[6].Text,"A&I"); if(m.Success) { gvrow.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.Red; } } I'm not having any luck with any of these variations: "A&I" "[A][&][I]" But when I strictly user "&", the row does turn red. • How to write custom reports in Drupal

  What's the "right" way in Drupal to create reports? I was hoping to use a view but am not having much luck. My goal is to create a table of rows containing three fields: user name, location, SUM of volunteer hours. Once I have this part working, I plan to expose filters for Location and Date. Views Calc only allows you to group by one field. I know Crystal Reports and MSSQL Reporting Services and I was hoping to find a similar kind of thing for Drupal. Is there a framework, examples, or a module to help with this, or do I need to write a custom module implementing the views_alter_SQL hook to get the desired data for each report? • RPX API Call auth_info is returning "missing parameter" error

  I cannot get the RPX auth_info API call to work. It keeps returning the error: "Missing parameter: apiKey" I am using the C# RPX Helper Class provided on their Wiki:RPX Helper Class Below is my code in my Page_Load method. The RPX service works by sending a POST to a Url that I specify. My code gets the token from the post data shown below. Then I call the AuthInfo API method. string token = Request.Params["token"]; string apiKey = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"; //my API key Rpx rpx = new Rpx(apiKey, "http://rpxnow.com"); XmlElement xmlElement = rpx.AuthInfo(token); Everything looks good. The token is populated. Within their code, the "apiKey" value pair is added to the post data written to the Request stream. Has anyone had luck with this? Any ideas why this is not working? Thanks.

• OpenSSL not listed under PHP modules but shows up in the configure command

  PHP 5.2.12 OS X 10.5.8 If I compile PHP from source with the following configure command ./configure --disable-all --with-openssl=shared,/opt/local it succeeds. However, after a make and make install, php -m does not list the openssl module. Based on what I've read, I think it may be due to multiple installs of the openssl library. Installing the latest version of openssl from source and trying to specify the path in the configure command, --with-openssl=/usr/local, always results in the following error: Undefined symbols: "_EVP_CIPHER_CTX_block_size", referenced from: _zif_openssl_seal in openssl.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [sapi/cgi/php-cgi] Error 1 I've tried a few different variations on the path with no luck. Based on http://blog.yimingliu.com/2009/02/24/missing-library-symbols-while-compiling-php-528/, I've also tried editing the Makefile so that MH_BUNDLE_FLAGS comes later in the compilation line. After spending a good portion of the day on this issue, I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?

  hello i'm having a problem, i try to solve it since yesterday but no luck. i have 32 bit delphi dll which i want to import in .NET Win Application. this application has to be built on ANY CPU mode. of course, there's BadImageFormatException coming, which means that in x64 application can't be loaded x86 dll.. i googled around and find solution, it said i have to do wrapper, but it wasn't clear for me. can anybody tell how to solve this problem, is there any possible way i can import 32bit Delphi dll in program builted Any CPU or x64 mode(maybe another solution).

I have done the following: Installed FastCGI Installed PHP 5.3.1.0 to c:\PHP Updated php.ini with the following: cgi.force_redirect = 0 cgi.fix_pathinfo = 1 fastcgi.impersonate = 1 fastcgi.logging = 0 Downloaded and extracted WebSVN 2.3.0 to D:\myWebRoot\websvn Copy distconfig.php to config.php Added the following: $config-setSVNCommandPath('c:\Program Files\Subversion\bin'); $config-setDiffPath('C:\Program Files\FogBugz\accessories'); $config-addRepository('Documents', 'https://myServer/myDir/Docs)', null, 'myDocsUser', 'myDocsPassword'); When I browse to URL myServer//websvn, I get the following error: Error running this command: "c:\Program Files\Subversion\bin\svn" --version --config-dir /tmp Any ideas?
