  • C++ scoping error

    - by Pat Murray
I have the following code: #include "Student.h" #include "SortedList.h" using namespace std; int main() { // points to the sorted list object SortedList *list = new SortedList; //This is line 17 // array to hold 100 student objects Student create[100]; int num = 100000; // holds different ID numbers // fills an array with 100 students of various ID numbers for (Student &x : create) { x = new Student(num); num += 100; } // insert all students into the sorted list for (Student &x : create) list->insert(&x); delete list; return 0; } And I keep getting the compile time error: main.cpp: In function ‘int main()’: main.cpp:17: error: ‘SortedList’ was not declared in this scope main.cpp:17: error: ‘list’ was not declared in this scope main.cpp:17: error: expected type-specifier before ‘SortedList’ main.cpp:17: error: expected `;' before ‘SortedList’ main.cpp:20: error: ‘Student’ was not declared in this scope main.cpp:20: error: expected primary-expression before ‘]’ token main.cpp:20: error: expected `;' before ‘create’ main.cpp:25: error: expected `;' before ‘x’ main.cpp:31: error: expected primary-expression before ‘for’ main.cpp:31: error: expected `;' before ‘for’ main.cpp:31: error: expected primary-expression before ‘for’ main.cpp:31: error: expected `)' before ‘for’ main.cpp:31: error: expected `;' before ‘x’ main.cpp:34: error: type ‘<type error>’ argument given to ‘delete’, expected pointer main.cpp:35: error: expected primary-expression before ‘return’ main.cpp:35: error: expected `)' before ‘return’ My Student.cpp and SortedList.cpp files compile just fine. They both also include .h files. I just do not understand why I get an error on that line. It seems to be a small issue though. Any insight would be appreciated. UPDATE1: I originally had .h files included, but i changed it when trying to figure out the cause of the error. The error remains with the .h files included though. UPDATE2: SortedList.h #ifndef SORTEDLIST_H #define SORTEDLIST_H #include "Student.h" /* * SortedList class * * A SortedList is an ordered collection of Students. • ld: symbol(s) not found with OpenSSL (libssl)

    - by Benjamin
    Hi all, I'm trying to build TorTunnel on my mac. I've successfully installed the Boost library and its development files. TorTunnel also requires the OpenSSL and its development files. I've got them installed in /usr/lib/libssl.dylib and /usr/include/openssl/. When I run the make command this is the error i'm getting: g++ -ggdb -g -O2 -lssl -lboost_system-xgcc42-mt-1_38 -o torproxy TorProxy.o HybridEncryption.o Connection.o Cell.o Directory.o ServerListing.o Util.o Circuit.o CellEncrypter.o RelayCellDispatcher.o CellConsumer.o ProxyShuffler.o CreateCell.o CreatedCell.o TorTunnel.o SocksConnection.o Network.o Undefined symbols: "_BN_hex2bn", referenced from: Circuit::initializeDhParameters() in Circuit.o "_BN_free", referenced from: Circuit::~Circuit()in Circuit.o Circuit::~Circuit()in Circuit.o CreatedCell::getKeyMaterial(unsigned char**, unsigned char**)in CreatedCell.o "_DH_generate_key", referenced from: Circuit::initializeDhParameters() in Circuit.o "_PEM_read_bio_RSAPublicKey", referenced from: ServerListing::getOnionKey() in ServerListing.o "_BIO_s_mem", referenced from: Connection::initializeSSL() in Connection.o Connection::initializeSSL() in Connection.o "_DH_free", referenced from: Circuit::~Circuit()in Circuit.o "_BIO_ctrl_pending", referenced from: Connection::writeFromBuffer(boost::function)in Connection.o "_RSA_size", referenced from: HybridEncryption::encryptInSingleChunk(unsigned char*, int, unsigned char**, int*, rsa_st*)in HybridEncryption.o HybridEncryption::encryptInHybridChunk(unsigned char*, int, unsigned char**, int*, rsa_st*)in HybridEncryption.o HybridEncryption::encrypt(unsigned char*, int, unsigned char**, int*, rsa_st*)in HybridEncryption.o "_RSA_public_encrypt", referenced from: HybridEncryption::encryptInSingleChunk(unsigned char*, int, unsigned char**, int*, rsa_st*)in HybridEncryption.o HybridEncryption::encryptInHybridChunk(unsigned char*, int, unsigned char**, int*, rsa_st*)in HybridEncryption.o "_BN_num_bits", referenced from: CreateCell::CreateCell(unsigned short, dh_st*, rsa_st*)in CreateCell.o CreatedCell::getKeyMaterial(unsigned char**, unsigned char**)in CreatedCell.o CreatedCell::getKeyMaterial(unsigned char**, unsigned char**)in CreatedCell.o CreatedCell::isValid() in CreatedCell.o "_SHA1", referenced from: CellEncrypter::expandKeyMaterial(unsigned char*, int, unsigned char*, int)in CellEncrypter.o "_BN_bn2bin", referenced from: CreateCell::CreateCell(unsigned short, dh_st*, rsa_st*)in CreateCell.o "_BN_bin2bn", referenced from: CreatedCell::getKeyMaterial(unsigned char**, unsigned char**)in CreatedCell.o "_DH_compute_key", referenced from: CreatedCell::getKeyMaterial(unsigned char**, unsigned char**)in CreatedCell.o "_BIO_new", referenced from: Connection::initializeSSL() in Connection.o Connection::initializeSSL() in Connection.o "_BIO_new_mem_buf", referenced from: ServerListing::getOnionKey() in ServerListing.o "_AES_ctr128_encrypt", referenced from: HybridEncryption::AES_encrypt(unsigned char*, int, unsigned char*, unsigned char*, int)in HybridEncryption.o CellEncrypter::aesOperate(Cell&, aes_key_st*, unsigned char*, unsigned char*, unsigned int*)in CellEncrypter.o "_BIO_read", referenced from: Connection::writeFromBuffer(boost::function)in Connection.o "_SHA1_Update", referenced from: CellEncrypter::calculateDigest(SHAstate_st*, RelayCell&, unsigned char*)in CellEncrypter.o CellEncrypter::initKeyMaterial(unsigned char*)in CellEncrypter.o CellEncrypter::initKeyMaterial(unsigned char*)in CellEncrypter.o "_SHA1_Final", referenced from: CellEncrypter::calculateDigest(SHAstate_st*, RelayCell&, unsigned char*)in CellEncrypter.o "_DH_size", referenced from: CreatedCell::getKeyMaterial(unsigned char**, unsigned char**)in CreatedCell.o "_DH_new", referenced from: Circuit::initializeDhParameters() in Circuit.o "_BIO_write", referenced from: Connection::readIntoBufferComplete(boost::function, boost::system::error_code const&, unsigned long)in Connection.o "_RSA_free", referenced from: Circuit::~Circuit()in Circuit.o "_BN_dup", referenced from: Circuit::initializeDhParameters() in Circuit.o Circuit::initializeDhParameters() in Circuit.o "_BN_new", referenced from: Circuit::initializeDhParameters() in Circuit.o Circuit::initializeDhParameters() in Circuit.o "_SHA1_Init", referenced from: CellEncrypter::CellEncrypter()in CellEncrypter.o CellEncrypter::CellEncrypter()in CellEncrypter.o "_RAND_bytes", referenced from: HybridEncryption::encryptInHybridChunk(unsigned char*, int, unsigned char**, int*, rsa_st*)in HybridEncryption.o Util::getRandomId() in Util.o "_AES_set_encrypt_key", referenced from: HybridEncryption::AES_encrypt(unsigned char*, int, unsigned char*, unsigned char*, int)in HybridEncryption.o CellEncrypter::initKeyMaterial(unsigned char*)in CellEncrypter.o CellEncrypter::initKeyMaterial(unsigned char*)in CellEncrypter.o "_BN_set_word", referenced from: Circuit::initializeDhParameters() in Circuit.o "_RSA_new", referenced from: ServerListing::getOnionKey() in ServerListing.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [torproxy] Error 1 Any idea how I could fix it?

  • "The left hand side of an assignment must be a variable" due to extra parentheses

    - by polygenelubricants
I know why the following code doesn't compile: public class Main { public static void main(String args[]) { main((null)); // this is fine! (main(null)); // this is NOT! } } What I'm wondering is why my compiler (javac 1.6.0_17, Windows version) is complaining "The left hand side of an assignment must be a variable". I'd expect something like "Don't put parentheses around a method invokation, dummy!", instead. So why is the compiler making a totally unhelpful complaint about something that is blatantly irrelevant? Is this the result of an ambiguity in the grammar? A bug in the compiler? If it's the former, could you design a language such that a compiler would never be so off-base about a syntax error like this?

  • What's the proper response to WM_ENDSESSION with ENDSESSION_CLOSEAPP and wParam == FALSE?

    - by Marcus Lindblom
According to the WM_ENDESSION docs, when lParam is ENDSESSION_CLOSEAPP and wParam is FALSE, "the application should not shut down". So, should I just ignore that and use the default response? What is it's purpose? (I'm listening to Windows events/messages in Qt (C++) to shutdown some launched processes, but that's just the context and shouldn't have any bearing here...)

  • Cheapest way to send SMS for number verification?

    - by erotsppa
My application needs to verify phone numbers that are provided by the user. What is the absolute cheapest way to send an SMS to a phone? Which company/API should I go to? I'm not looking for a hack solution to send out 10 SMS a month kind of thing, I need to roll this out for a company that will be sending mass amount of verifications. But they want to do it at the lowest cost. (Each user will only need to verify once)

  • Problem with errorPlacement in validator plugin jQuery

    - by novellino
Hello, I am using the validator plugin of jQuery. By default the error label is added below my form. I want to add it above my form. So what I am doing is adding the code below in the validate(): errorPlacement: function (error, element) { error.insertBefore('form#emailForm'); } The problem is that the error label now is added a lot of times above the form, in every click. So I have something like this: Enter valid email.Enter valid email.Enter valid email. Does anyone know what's wrong with it? Thanks in advance!

  • Good error flagging

    - by Wayne
For everyone that was thinking of the error_reporting() function, then it isn't, what I need is whenever a MySQL query has been done, and the statement has like if($result) { echo "Yes, it was fine... bla bla"; } else { echo "Obviously, the echo'ing will show in a white page with the text ONLY..."; } Whenever statements have been true or false, I want the error to be appeared when redirected with the header() function and echo the error reporting in a div somewhere on the page. Basically something like this: $error = ''; This part appears inside the div tags <div><?php echo $error; ?></div> So the error part will be echoed when redirected with the header() if($result) { $error = "Yes, it was fine... bla bla"; header("Location: url"); } else { $error = "Something wrong happened..."; header("Location: url"); } But that just doesn't work :(

  • Connect from java mobile application to webservice to read messages.

    - by Alexandru Trandafir Catalin
Hello, I have a website where users can send personal messages between them, now I want them to recieve the messages also on their mobile phone but without having to send them a SMS. I am thinking about providing them with a mobile phone with internet access over GPRS or 3G, then develop a Java application that will connect to the website and retrieve the messages. On the website I am thinking to make a webservice where the phone will login, get new messages, and also be able to answer back to messages. Does anyone know any mobile application tutorial that will do that? Or do you recommend me where to start? I never done a java mobile application before, I only work with websites and PHP. I also tried to use ICQ, the client is already done for java and for iphone, and I've also found a script that will send ICQ messages from PHP, but ICQ server bans you for 20 minutes when you do many reconnections, so I have to develop some kind of ICQ bot always online that will check for new messages to send from the mySQL database and then send them, one per 2-3 seconds, so the server won't ban me for flooding. Well any advice or recommendation is welcome about how to have users connected to the website messaging system from their phones. Thank you!

  • What CPAN module can send all warnings and errors to a log file?

    - by mithaldu
I'm maintaining some website code that currently dumps all errors and warnings into the apache log. This is a problem for me as i cannot access that due to lack of root. As such I am looking to redirect all warnings and errors to a specified log file under my control. I'd like to do so without preventing those messages from going through their usual patch of execution. Now, before i spend a lot of time fiddling with the Perl internals and possibly breaking things unawares I thought I'd look for a CPAN module that does this. However, I either do not know how to properly search for this, or I am overlooking something and thus cannot find any module that seems suitable. Thus my asking here: What CPAN module would i use for this task?

  • Use cellular emulator with a REAL WinMo device?

    - by Ranhiru
I don't whether this is even possible which is obviously why I am asking this question :) Is it in any way possible to leverage functionality the Cellular Emulator on a REAL PHYSICAL device?? :) So when I test it on my device, I really do not have to send real SMS(s) to test my MessageInteceptor. On a sidenote, why does MessageInteceptor fails after several messages to intercept messages?? :( Thanx a lot in advance :)

  • XML RSS to HTML parser doesn't work

    - by mstr
I'm using MCX (I don't even know if someone here is familiar with it, pretty unkown derivate of COBOL and Fortran, look it up in google when you don't believe me) Note: I'm using MCX on the MCX-WebServices server as it does neither support apache or ISS, mabye that is one problem. The thing is that I want to use the XML library to read in an XML file and convert it into an output format readable by the user. The XML lib already has all the functions I need for that, yet my program fails. #!usr/bin/mcx $PGRM.ID: index.mcx $PGRM.AT: /mstr SHOWERROR: WRITE XML.LastError --> OUTPUT DO_FLUSH xcit end\ MAIN: IMPORT Extras.XML USE Extras $XML_RSS_FILE: XML.ReadIn "rss.xml" ! $XML_RSS_FILE --> GOTO SHOWERROR $XML_RSS: XML.FormatRSS1 <-- $XML_RSS_FILE ! $XML_RSS --> GOTO SHOWERROR WRITE $XML_RSS --> OUTPUT DO_FLUSH FLUSH xcit end\ Program output: Nothing The rss.xml file 100% exists and is readable Thanks in advance

  • MYSQL: Error: Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails

    - by DalivDali
Hi all, Using MySQL on Windows OS, and am getting an error upon attempting to create a foreign key between two tables: CREATE TABLE tf_traffic_stats ( domain_name char(100) NOT NULL, session_count int(11) NULL, search_count int(11) NULL, click_count int(11) NULL, revenue float NULL, rpm float NULL, cpc float NULL, traffic_date date NOT NULL DEFAULT '0000-00-00', PRIMARY KEY(domain_name,traffic_date)) and CREATE TABLE td_domain_name ( domain_id int(10) UNSIGNED AUTO_INCREMENT NOT NULL, domain_name char(100) NOT NULL, update_date date NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY(domain_id)) The following statement gives me the error present in the subject line (cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails): ALTER TABLE td_domain_name ADD CONSTRAINT FK_domain_name FOREIGN KEY(domain_name) REFERENCES tf_traffic_stats(domain_name) ON DELETE RESTRICT ON UPDATE RESTRICT Can someone point me in the right direction of what may be causing the error. I also have a foreign key referencing td_domain_name.domain_id, but I don't think this should be interfering... Appreciate it!

  • Rails does not display error messages on a form in a custom method

    - by slythic
Hi all, I've created a custom method called checkout in my app. I create an order (which is done my adding products to my "cart"), assign it to my client, and then I head to my checkout screen where I confirm the items and enter their customer order number and complete the order (submit). Everything works great except that it doesn't display error messages. I'm able to display a flash error notice (seen in complete_order method) when things go wrong but it doesn't specify the details like a normal form would. The error messages should appear if the customer order number is not unique for that client. Below is the custom method (checkout) related code. Order Model: validates_uniqueness_of :customer_order_number, :scope => :client_id Orders_controller: def checkout @order = current_order end def complete_order @order = current_order respond_to do |format| if @order.update_attributes(params[:order]) @order.complete #sets submitted datetime and state to 'complete' flash[:notice] = 'Thank you! Your order is being processed.' format.html { redirect_to( products_path ) } format.xml { head :ok } else flash[:error] = 'Please review your items' #added to confirm an error is present format.html { redirect_to( checkout_path ) } format.xml { render :xml => @order.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } end end end And the form in the checkout view: <% form_for @order, :url => { :controller => "orders", :action => "complete_order" } do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages %> <%= f.text_field :customer_order_number, :label => "Purchase Order Number" %> <p> <%= f.submit 'Complete Order', :confirm => 'Are you sure?' %> <small> or <%= link_to 'cancel', current_cart_path %></small> </p> <% end %> Any idea how I can display the specific error messages? Thank you in advance! -Tony

  • Error including image in Latex

    - by euphoria83
I am getting the following error while compiling my Latex File : ! LaTeX Error: Cannot determine size of graphic in tree.jpg (no BoundingBox). Why do I get this error ? What has this to do with an .eps file ? Infact, I could compile it fine with MacTex on my machine. But when I submit it online to a scientific journal for publication, it compiles it on the server and sends me the resultant PDF which as all these error that prevent it from compiling. I am using the following syntax for including the images : \begin{figure}[!h] \begin{center} \scalebox{0.45}{ \includegraphics{tree.jpg}} \end{center} \caption{\small A sample} \label{tree} \end{figure} What should I do ? Could it be that their server is using an old compiler ? UPDATE : It finally worked. I converted the first image to PDF and the compilation happened perfectly. I guess it used the bounding box value from that PDF and applied it to all images.

  • SMS to server service

    - by duckofrubber
Hi, I need to find a service that will allow me to send and receive SMS on a server for a project. The project requires that a user will have up to 8 keyword options to send, and will receive a different response back based on the keyword that they enter. Does anyone know of services that I could look into that will allow this? Thanks.

  • How to define an n-m relation in doctrine?

If got a table "Article" and a table "Tags". Articles can have multiple tags and tags can hang to multiple articles. The class BaseArticle looks like this: abstract class BaseArticle extends Doctrine_Record { public function setTableDefinition() { $this->setTableName('article'); $this->hasColumn('article_id', 'integer', 8, array( 'type' => 'integer', 'length' => 8, 'fixed' => false, 'unsigned' => false, 'primary' => true, 'autoincrement' => true, )); $this->hasColumn('title', 'string', null, array( 'type' => 'string', 'fixed' => false, 'unsigned' => false, 'primary' => false, 'notnull' => false, 'autoincrement' => false, )); $this->hasColumn('text', 'string', null, array( 'type' => 'string', 'fixed' => false, 'unsigned' => false, 'primary' => false, 'notnull' => false, 'autoincrement' => false, $this->hasColumn('url', 'string', 255, array( 'type' => 'string', 'length' => 255, 'fixed' => false, 'unsigned' => false, 'primary' => false, 'notnull' => false, 'autoincrement' => false, )); } public function setUp() { parent::setUp(); $this->hasMany('Tag as Tags', array( 'local' => 'article_id', 'foreign'=>'tag_id', 'refClass'=>'Articletag') ); } } The BaseTag-class like this: abstract class BaseTag extends Doctrine_Record { public function setTableDefinition() { $this->setTableName('tag'); $this->hasColumn('tag_id', 'integer', 4, array( 'type' => 'integer', 'length' => 4, 'fixed' => false, 'unsigned' => false, 'primary' => true, 'autoincrement' => true, )); $this->hasColumn('name', 'string', null, array( 'type' => 'string', 'fixed' => false, 'unsigned' => false, 'primary' => false, 'notnull' => false, 'autoincrement' => false, )); } public function setUp() { parent::setUp(); $this->hasMany('Article as Articles', array( 'local' => 'tag_id', 'foreign'=>'article_id', 'refClass'=>'Articletag') ); } } And the relationship class like this: abstract class BaseArticletag extends Doctrine_Record { public function setTableDefinition() { $this->setTableName('articletag'); $this->hasColumn('article_id', 'integer', 8, array( 'type' => 'integer', 'length' => 8, 'fixed' => false, 'unsigned' => false, 'primary' => true, 'autoincrement' => false, )); $this->hasColumn('tag_id', 'integer', 4, array( 'type' => 'integer', 'length' => 4, 'fixed' => false, 'unsigned' => false, 'primary' => true, 'autoincrement' => false, )); } public function setUp() { parent::setUp(); } } When I try to get a property from the article all goes well by using: $article = Doctrine_Query::create()->from('Article a') ->where('id = ?' , 1) ->fetchOne(); echo $article->title; //gives me the title But when I try this: foreach($article->Tags as $tag) { echo($tag->name) } I get an error: Unknown record property / related component "Tags" on "Article"

  • Dimension Mismatch MatLab; cant figure out why it is mismatching

    - by Abid
I think it may be a syntax issue, here is the code. load ([ 'C:\Users\Abid\Desktop\Inquiry Runs\dtS' ]) dtS((dtS==0))=nan; for j=2:9; maxS=max(dtS(j,:)); minS=min(dtS(j,:)); maxval(j,:)=dtS((dtS>(maxS-.1*maxS))); minval(j,:)=dtS((dtS<(minS+.1*minS))); avmax(j)=mean(maxval(j,:)); avmin(j)=mean(minval(j,:)); avs(j,:)=[avmax(j) avmin(j)] end So I know the the row matrices are different sizes every loop. For example maxval(j,:) will change depending one row it is looking through for certain values. I did this manually and I see that on the first loop the matrices are size (1,1), however, if I set the loop to run for only j=2, the row length is 13. Usually if a matrix is changing size on the loop, I only get a warning, but this time I think it is due to a reason I don't understand.
