  • Way to store dates with missing days/months in mysql (php)

    I want to store dates in mysql so I set the table to be of type 'Date', which is fine but mysql requires that the full date is provided YYYY-MM-DD. However some of my data does not include day and some is missing the month. Now I could just use a varchar(10) field, but then its difficult to run date based queries on the data. Is there another date format which is not as strong and would allow me to use ?? or 00 where the day/month is not known?

  • Skip reading strings in matlab

    Is there is easy command in matlab which prevents program from crashing when it reads characters? I use xlsread to read a (20 400) matrix data , the first row and column get disregarded as they have headers, so that: data = xlsread ( ' C:\file.xls') results in data with a size of (19 399). I have a problem, some cells have missing data and it's written ' missing' and on some data sets i have headers reappear in middle. Is there a way to skip these characters without the program crashing and me having to open the file in excel and deleting those fields? Thanks

    I am trying to include an Image control within my web part. In EnsureChildControls I have the following code: Image image = new Image(); image.ImageUrl = this.Page.ClientScript.GetWebResourceUrl(this.GetType(), "hotline.jpg"); I get a NullPointer exception and this is because 'Page' is null. Why might this be? Am I doing this all wrong anyway?

  • Internet Explorer 6 and 7: floated elements expand to 100% width when they contain a child element f

    I've got a parent div floated left, with two child divs that I need to float right. The parent div should (if I understand the spec correctly) be as wide as needed to contain the child divs, and this is how it behaves in Firefox et al. In IE, the parent div expands to 100% width. This seems to be an issue with floated elements that have children floated right.   • how to join on varchar(32) and binary(16) columns in sybase?

    I want to join two tables on a UUID. table A's UUID is represented as varchar(32). table B's UUID is represented as binary(16). what's the best way to join a varchar to a binary column? I've tried using some sybase functions for this, but I'm getting different results and unsure of why: select hextobigint('0x000036ca4c4c11d88b8dcd1344cdb512') 3948051912944290701 select convert(bigint,0x000036ca4c4c11d88b8dcd1344cdb512) -2877434794219274240 what am I missing about convert and hextobigint?   • setContentView taking long time (10-15 seconds) to execute

    I have a large activity that contains 100 or more buttons. But it's working fine once loaded. Problem however is loading. From clicking its launch icon to getting the first view it takes 10-12 seconds. Until the first view, it shows gray title bar in black background. At least, I want to show a simple progress bar or dialog while its loading. But it seems like you cannot show anything before setContentView executed. I think I have tried everything I could without any success. If you can give me any hint or idea, I would be thankful. UPDATE: I found a dramatic resolution. It takes now a second to load the view. I didn't use splash, thread or async task at all - BTW, don't try to use thread or async on UI because Android UI is not thread-safe. Problem was that those buttons were based on a custom class that requires initialization to load same resource. - so 100 or more file operations were happening on setContentView. Making them a just single loading solved my problem.

MyEntity.findAllByNameNotLike('bad%') This gives me the following error: No such property: nameNot for class: MyEntity Possible solutions: name" type="groovy.lang.MissingPropertyException" I had a quick look at the criteria style but I can't seem to get that going either, def results = MyEntity.withCritieria { not(like('name', 'bad%')) } No signature of method: MyEntity.withCritieria() is applicable for argument types: (MyService$_doSomething_closure1) Ideally I would like to be able to apply this restriction at the finder level as the database contains a large number of entities that I don't want to load up and then exclude for performance reasons.     I've been involved in a discussion about how to build internet voting software for a general election. We've reached a general consensus that there exist plenty of secure methods for two way authentication and communication. However, someone came along and pointed out that in a general election some of the machines being used are almost certainly going to be compromised. To quote: Let me be an evil electoral fraudster. I want to sample peoples votes as they vote and hope I get something scandalous. I hire a bot-net from some really shady dudes who control 1000 compromised machines in the UK just for election day. I capture the voting habits of 1000 voters on election day. I notice 5 of them have voted BNP. I look these users up and check out their machines, I look through their documents on their machine and find out their names and addresses. I find out one of them is the wife of a tory MP. I leak 'wife of tory mp is a fascist!' to some blogger I know. It hits the internet and goes viral, swings an election. That's a serious problem! So, what are the best techniques for running software where user interactions with the software must be kept secret, on a machine which is possibly compromised?

But i am facing with the problem that whenever i try to play the music in a call it is not that much loud as it is when there is no call. Is there any way to control the background music when in a call. I could refactor the code not to use stdexcept. There may be a way to pull in the original stdexcept source and reference that. I might be able to link to a precompiled stdexcept library.

  • C++: Is there any good way to read/write without specifically stating character type in function nam

    I'm having a problem getting a program to read from a file based on a template, for example: bool parse(basic_ifstream<T> &file) { T ch; locale loc = file.getloc(); basic_string<T> buf; file.unsetf(ios_base::skipws); if (file.is_open()) { while (file >> ch) { if(isalnum(ch, loc)) { buf += ch; } else if(!buf.empty()) { addWord(buf); buf.clear(); } } if(!buf.empty()) { addWord(buf); } return true; } return false; } This will work when I instantiate this class with <char>, but has problems when I use <wchar_t> (clearly). Outside of the class, I'm using: for (iter = mp.begin(); iter != mp.end(); ++iter ) { cout << iter->first << setw(textwidth - iter->first.length() + 1); cout << " " << iter->second << endl; } To write all of the information from this data struct (it's a map<basic_string<T>, int>), and as predicted, cout explodes if iter->first isn't a char array. I've looked online and the consensus is to use wcout, but unfortunately, since this program requires that the template can be changed at compile time (<char> - <wchar_t>) I'm not sure how I could get away with simply choosing cout or wcout. That is, unless there way a way to read/write wide characters without changing lots of code. If this explanation sounds awkwardly complicated, let me know and I'll address it as best I can.

    Hello, I have created an RDF/OWL file using Protege 4.1 alpha. I also created a defined class in Protege called CheapPhone. This class has a restriction which is shown below : (hasPrice some integer[< 350]) Whenever, a price of a phone is below 350, it is inferred as CheapPhone. There is no problem for inferring this in Protege 4.1 alpha. However, I cannot infer this using Jena. I also created a defined class called SmartPhone. This class also has a restriction which is shown below : (has3G value true) and (hasInternet value true) Whenever, a phone has 3G and Internet, it is inferred as SmartPhone. In this situation, there is no problem inferring this in both Protege and Jena. I have started to think that there is a problem in default inference engine of Jena. The code that I use in Java is below : Reasoner reasoner = ReasonerRegistry.getOWLReasoner(); reasoner = reasoner.bindSchema(ontModel); OntModelSpec ontModelSpec = OntModelSpec.OWL_MEM_MINI_RULE_INF; ontModelSpec.setReasoner(reasoner); // Create ontology model with reasoner support // ontModel was created and read before, so I don't share the code in order // not to create garbage here OntModel model = ModelFactory.createOntologyModel(ontModelSpec, ontModel); OntClass sPhone = model.getOntClass(ns + "SmartPhone"); ExtendedIterator s = sPhone.listInstances(); while(s.hasNext()) { OntResource mp = (OntResource)s.next(); System.out.println(mp.getURI()); } This code works perfectly and returns me the instances, but when I change the code below and make it appropriate for CheapPhone, it doesn't return anything. OntClass sPhone = model.getOntClass(ns + "CheapPhone"); Am I doing something wrong ?

    Could I use SCOM2012 monitor the changes on switch(CISCO 3750 2960 4906 etc), such as VLAN changes, Port shutdown, open any services on switch. I noticed there is one reports named configuration changes report, but seems like no any detail configuration could be monitor on switch? Should I download any MP to monitor the detail changes on SW.   • Update Windows Defender schedule via command line or gpo?

    I'm looking to find a way to update some Windows Defender settings via command line, gpo etc. From my research it looks like windows defender creates a hidden scheduled task named 'MP Scheduled Scan', but modifying this task does not seem to make a difference as to what shows up in the Windows Defender UI. I have also done some process monitoring to see what data Windows Defender uses and I can see that it reads/writes to the 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scan' ScheduleDay key, but if I attempt to modify this key, I get an "Error Writing the new values contents" error message.

  • Failling install Ralink RT5592 driver on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

    My problem concerns the installation of a wi-fi driver (RT5592) for my new wi-fi adapter (PCE-N53) on my newly built computer. Basically, I don't manage to get the driver installed and therefore I cannot get the wifi to work. I know I am not the only one having this issue this year, between RT5592 driver and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, in one way or the other. Is there anybody who has ever been able to fix this problem? It does not look like on all the posts I have been through... Following an answer to a same problem as mine (I was getting the same error message as Christopher Kyle Horton of "incompatible types" etc), I have applied the instructions and done the editings in a script as suggested by Paul B. Unfortunately I still do get error/warnings message (a different one this time) at the end of the make and the wi-fi still does not work. RT5592 PCI2 Wireless Network Adapater [1814:5592] and sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic returns linux-headers-generic is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. If this is a kernel version (I have 3.13.0-32-generic) incompatibility issue with the driver as chilli555 suggests (the README file in the driver package says indeed it is compatible with kernel 2.6), how could one trick this around to make it work? that should be possible right? On ubuntu forums, the patches proposed dont work (leads the computer to freeze). Basically: is there anybody out there who has ever been able to make a PCE-N53 work on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (kernel 3.13)? how shall I edit the driver package to make it work for my kernel?

  • Thinktecture.IdentityModel: Comparing Strings without leaking Timinig Information

    Paul Hill commented on a recent post where I was comparing HMACSHA256 signatures. In a nutshell his complaint was that I am leaking timing information while doing so – or in other words, my code returned faster with wrong (or partially wrong) signatures than with the correct signature. This can be potentially used for timing attacks like this one. I think he got a point here, especially in the era of cloud computing where you can potentially run attack code on the same physical machine as your target to do high resolution timing analysis (see here for an example). It turns out that it is not that easy to write a time-constant string comparer due to all sort of (unexpected) clever optimization mechanisms in the CLR. With the help and feedback of Paul and Shawn I came up with this: Structure the code in a way that the CLR will not try to optimize it In addition turn off optimization (just in case a future version will come up with new optimization methods) Add a random sleep when the comparison fails (using Shawn’s and Stephen’s nice Random wrapper for RNGCryptoServiceProvider).
