  • how to declare a public string with a textbox's text

    - by Ian Lundberg
i am trying to do public string str = txtText.Text; but it wont let me use txtText.txt so how would I declare that so it can be used everywhere? I can't use it in the button1_click event because if I do it messes it up because I am having a string retrieve from the textbox and set to the textbox so it doesn't work right so I have to have it retrieve the textbox's text somewhere else then set to it.

  • SSH is looking in the wrong place for the public/private key pair on Windows

    - by Michael Morisy
I'm trying to configure GIT on my Windows XP machine, but SSH keeps creating and looking for the public/private key pair in non-sensical places, e.g. /.ssh/id_rsa Is there a configuration file in the GIT Installation for Windows where I can switch this to my home directory, or another user defined place? By default, it offers to create new key pairs at //.ssh/id_rsa but that gives me the error "Could not create directory '//.ssh'." And when I'm able to find a directory I can create it in, GIT won't look there.

  • Prevent abuse of public HTTP directory meant for images

    - by sutre
The situation: Each user has their own public HTTP directory, meant for images only. This could easily be abused by users using it to serve large files, wasting bandwidth. The question: Is there any fairly simple way to prevent this abuse? Either by allowing the webserver to only images to be served, restricting size, or some other method.

  • Custom Content-Type for File in Rails 'public' Folder

    - by Kevin Sylvestre
For assets stored in the 'public' folder of a ruby-on-rails application is it possible to change the 'Content-Type' when running 'script/server'? For example, I am attempting to create an HTML5 application supporting offline mode, and have an 'offline.manifest'. When I run: curl -I localhost:3000/offline.mainfest The following header information is returned: HTTP/1.1 200 OK ... Content-Type: text/plain ... However, HTML5 specifications require: HTTP/1.1 200 OK ... Content-Type: text/cache-manifest ...

  • Why are these methods public?

    - by Blankman
    My javascript looks like the following. I don't understand why these methods are all public though? Something.RegisterNamespace("One.ABC"); (function(ABC) { ABC.SayHello = function() { alert('hello'); }; })(One.ABC); So now I can do: One.ABC.SayHello();

  • serve static play2.x content from CDN

    - by Adam Lane
In development mode I would like to have assets served locally and when deployed in production I would like them served from the CDN. Anyone using play2 and serving content from CDN be willing to share how they are doing it? // Thinking of something like this in the routes file... @if(play.Play.isDev()) { GET /assets/*file controllers.Assets.at(path="/public", file) } else { GET CDNPATH/assets/*file controllers.Assets.at(path="CDNPATH", file) } (Note: using 2.0.2 because of the headers fix https://github.com/playframework/Play20/pull/276)

  • What does “@public” mean in Objective-C?

    - by Ty
After reading a question on @private I understand how that works. However, since all variables default to @protected and you cannot really access a variable without defining an accessor, what exactly does @public do? When would you use it?

  • Serving static content with jetty 7, using defaultservlet configured from web.xml

    - by Chilly
Hi All, This is jetty 7 and xml configured, not embedded. I'm trying to serve a static file, crossdomain.xml, to an app that connects to a datasource I run from jetty. • Packaging a Bundle with a static library

    - by 4thSpace
I have a static library that includes some xibs. These will basically be the same across projects. I'd like to include the xibs as part of the library. I can include their veiwcontrollers, reference these controllers in the calling project but then there isn't a xib to load. When I right click the xib in the library project, it can't be part of the target. I thought about creating a CFPluginBundle but that creates a new project. I'd loose all of my IBOutlet and IBAction references. What is the best way to reuse xibs that also have outlets and actions to specific controllers?

  • classes and static variables in shared libraries

    - by abel
I am trying to write something in c++ with an architecture like: App -- Core (.so) <-- Plugins (.so's) for linux, mac and windows. The Core is implicitly linked to App and Plugins are explicitly linked with dlopen/LoadLibrary to App. The problem I have: static variables in Core are duplicated at run-time -- Plugins and App have different copys of them. at least on mac, when a Plugin returns a pointer to App, dynamic casting that pointer in App always result in NULL. Can anyone give me some explanations and instructions for different platforms please? I know this may seem lazy to ask them all here but I really cannot find a systematic answer to this question.

  • Static web project in Visual Web Developer Express

    - by Charlie boy
I am about to develop a sort of web application using only static files (eg. html, js & css). Is there a way to start this sort of project in Visual Web Developer Express? I want to have all the niceties with intellisense, sulution explorer and whatnot but I don't want all of the ASP.net structure in the sulution. Is thiss possible or is there perhaps another IDE for this kind of project? Thanks!

  • using Java enums or public static fields in MATLAB

    - by Jason S
I'm wondering how in MATLAB you can get a reference to a Java enum or static public field. In MATLAB, if you are trying to use Java objects/methods, there are equivalents to Java object creation / method call / etc.: Java: new com.example.test.Foo(); MATLAB: javaObject('com.example.test.Foo'); Java: com.example.test.Foo.staticMethod(); MATLAB: javaMethod('staticMethod', 'com.example.test.Foo'); Java: SomeEnum e = com.example.test.SomeEnum.MY_FAVORITE_ENUM; MATLAB: ????? Java: int n = com.example.test.Foo.MAX_FOO; MATLAB: ?????

  • django authentication .htaccess static

    - by Uszy Wieloryba
In my app users can upload files for other users. To make the uploaded files accesible only for the addresse I need some kind of static files authentication system. My idea, is to create the apache hosted directory for each user and to limit access to this derectory using .htaccess. This means that each time new django user is created, I need to create a directory and the appropriate .htaccess file in it. I know I should do it using post_save signals on User model but I don't know how to create the .htaccess in the user's directory from python level. Can you help me with that? Or perhaps you have better solution to my problem?

  • pthread_create from non-static member function

    - by Stanislav Palatnik
This is somewhat similiar to this : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1151582/pthread-function-from-a-class But the function that's getting called in the end is referencing the this pointer, so it cannot be made static. void * Server::processRequest() { std::string tmp_request, outRequest; tmp_request = this->readData(); outRequest = this->parse(tmp_request); this->writeReply(outRequest); } void * LaunchMemberFunction(void * obj) { return ((Server *)obj)->processRequest(); } and then the pthread_create pthread_create(&handler[tcount], &attr, (void*)LaunchMemberFunction,(void*)&SServer); errors: SS_Twitter.cpp:819: error: invalid conversion from void* to void* ()(void) SS_Twitter.cpp:819: error: initializing argument 3 of int pthread_create(pthread_t*, const pthread_attr_t*, void* ()(void), void*)

  • Include static file in JSP with variable filename on WebSphere 6

    - by cringe
I'm struggling with including a static file into my JSPs on Websphere 6.0.2.17. I tried this: <% final String MY_DIR = ResourceBundle.getBundle("mybundle").getString("props.pages.wcm"); %> <% final String page = ResourceBundle.getBundle("mybundle").getString("page"); %> <% final String inc = MY_DIR + "/" + bonus; %> <%@include file="<%= inc %>"%> The path is /wcm/some/other/dir/page and I can happily print that out with out.write(inc). Unfortunatly the include (and the jsp:include) isn't including the file at all. There is no error message, but the content isn't included... The file is accessible via the browser though. Do I have to create a full JSP for this to work? I just need a HTML file.

  • Avoiding cookies while requesting static content

    - by Abdel Olakara
I just did an audit of one of my web application page (built using ASP.Net and running on development server) using Google chrome's developer tool. One particular warning caught my eyes: Serve static content from a cookieless domain (5)! Here is my screen shot (http://yfrog.com/7eauditresultp) as well. I would like to know is it possible to avoid cookies for these kind of requests. I see that there is no cookie requests for javascript files as well. I it possible to avoid cookies in the header for these files as well? and why didn't the browser attach cookies for javascript files and attach for CSS and image? Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome

  • moqing static method call to c# library class

    - by Joe
This seems like an easy enough issue but I can't seem to find the keywords to effect my searches. I'm trying to unit test by mocking out all objects within this method call. I am able to do so to all of my own creations except for this one: public void MyFunc(MyVarClass myVar) { Image picture; ... picture = Image.FromStream(new MemoryStream(myVar.ImageStream)); ... } FromStream is a static call from the Image class (part of c#). So how can I refactor my code to mock this out because I really don't want to provide a image stream to the unit test.
