    I'm using the code below to take a string and split it up into an array. It will take: Disney Land and make it two separate elements. If the string contains "Disney Land" then it is one element in the array. Works great, however it adds some empty elements to the array each time. So I just iterate over the elements and remove them if they are empty. Is there a tweak to the code below that will prevent those empty elements from occurring?     I am look for a server side PDF library (or command line tool) which can: split a multi-page PDF file into individual PDF files, based on a search result of the PDF file content Examples: Search "Page ???" pattern in text and split the big PDF into 001.pdf, 002,pdf, ... ???.pdf A server program will scan the PDF, look for the search pattern, save the page(s) which match the patten, and save the file in the disk. It will be nice with integration with PHP / Ruby. Command line tool is also acceptable. It will be a server side (linux or win32) batch processing tool. GUI/login is not supported. i18n support will be nice but no required. Thanks~

    Every time I have to split a long string literal into two (or more) pieces, because it does not fit into a single line, I have to decide if I split the text before or after a space. For example: const char * long_text1 = "This is a long text, which does not fit " "in one line"; /* or */ const char * long_text2 = "This is a long text, which does not fit" " in one line"; I tend to use the first way, but I do not have a real reason for it. So I wonder is there any advantage to favor one of them? I know this questions tend to be coding style question, but that's not my intend. I only want to know if there is a convincing reason why one of those two ways might be preferable.

    I'm abit stuck. I'm using jQuery. I have a cookie which has the value such as : 1,something|2,somethingg|1,something We are treating it as [0] as id and [1] as name. I need to remove ONE where the id == '1' for example, this will leave the cookie like this: 1,something|2,somethingg How do I go about this, it will probally be in a loop, but not sure how to remove one of them. I am looking for a regex pattern which will split the quantity, description, and price (including symbol). the strings will always be: qty x description @ price+symbol so i assume the regex would be something like: `(match a number and only a number) x (get description letters and numbers before the @ symbol) @ (match the currency symbol and price)` How should I approach this?

    Hello, I have a string say: Order_num = "0982asdlkj" How can I split that into the 2 variables, with the number element and then another variable with the letter element in php? The number element can be any length from 1 to 4 say and the letter element fills the rest to make every order_num 10 characters long in total. I have found the php explode function...but don't know how to make it in my case because the number of numbers is between 1 and 4 and the letters are random after that, so no way to split at a particular letter. Please help as specifically as possible!

    Hello. I am looking to take a hash range (md5 or sha1) and split it into n equal ranges. For example, if n=5, the entire hash range would be split by 5 so that there would be a uniform distribution of key ranges. I would like n=1 to be from the beginning of the hash range to 1/5, 2 from 1/2 to 2/5, etc all the way to the end. I am new to hashing and a little bit unsure of where I could start on solving this for a project. Any help you could give would be great.

    Greetings. I am querying tables from Microsoft SQL 2008 which have date split across 3 columns: day, month and year. Unfortunately, I do not have control over this because data is coming in to the database daily from a 3rd party source in that format. I need to add between to a where clause so user can pull records within a range. Would be easy enough if date was in a single column but finding it nearly impossible when its split across three columns. To display the date, I am doing a CAST( CAST(year as varchar(4)) + '-' + CAST(month as varchar(2)) + '-' + CAST(day as varchar(2)) as date) AS "date"` in a select. I tried to put it as a parameter for datediff function or just the regular between but get no results. Thanks for any help.

    Hi All, I want to set a restriction on my firewall (windows firewall on windows 2008) to only allow connections from a certain dynamic DNS. Is this possible? The reason I ask is that this would allow us to just change the IP on the dynamic DNS if our IP changes and means we won't get locked out of RDP. This also allows me to RDP in from other locations that have IP's that are not static by just changing the IP against the DNS. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

When the DNS exposes two IPs for the DNS entry (of the WSDL), the Service tries to use only the first - resulting in a "Failed to access the WSDL at: http://some.url.com/someDocument?wsdl. It failed with: Connection refused: connect" exception. I've found an issue filed against JAX-WS, but with no resolution. this is the comment that describes my problem best. The code is just a one-liner: Service service = Service.create("http://some.url.com/someDocument?wsdl", engineQName); the smarts is exposing those two A records on http://some.url.com/ at the DNS.     You own thecheesecakefactory.com and your site lives there. You know that many of your visitors will simply type cheesecakefactory.com into their browser, so you purchase that domain as well. What is the cleanest way of handling the redirection. I know GoDaddy offers a "domain forwarding" service but I am not sure if this is the "proper" way of handling it, and I don't necessarily like the idea of GoDaddy handling my DNS. My other option would be sending the domain to my DNS servers and possibly my actual server. Is it possible to do this without setting up a new vhost and a 301 redirect on my server (using DNS only)? If not, how does the GoDaddy forwarding service work?

    Hi, I have setup OpenVPN. All seems to be working fine except that Name Lookups are not done via the BIND DNS server on the server. I have added push "redirect-gateway def1" and push "dhcp-option DNS 10.8.0.1" to the OpenVPN server config. It does seem like this is being pushed to the Client. The problem however is that I believe the BIND DNS is not allowing the Client to connect and do name lookups. How do I go about configuring BIND to allow connections from the VPN clients?

    Hi, I've 2 machines with names Comp1, Comp2. There is a DNS name for them, that mask them as one, let say DNSName. I get IP addresses for both machines via Dns.GetHostEntry("DNSName"). But when I try get Dns.GetHostEntry(ipAddress) entry.HostName always contains DNSName. I found some way to get name through WMI. But our policy doesn't allow WMI on remote machines. I can do parsing of nbstat -a output, but I would like to do some clean aproach to this. Is there some way?
