  • Load program to one side of monitor in Windows 7

    This is a question to enhance the feature on Windows 7, where you drag the screen to one side and it docks to that side of the screen. Is there a way to have it so when I load a program, it knows that I always like it docked on the right side, so it just loads on the right side? And I don't have to drag it to the right. It will be done for Internet Explorer, so, if there is no setting on the Shortcut for this, can it be programmed into the browser?

  • Starting/Stopping services as a program start and end

    I have some applications like VMWare, SQL Server, which have a lot services started even without me using the software. I have changed the startup of this services to manual and have created a .bat file to start the services up and then I launch the program. But, its not a efficient solution. I would like to start the services once the application starts and stop once the application closes as well. Does anyone know of any solution?

  • Program for getting the cursor's x,y coordinates?

    Is there a program which lets you easily get the x,y coordinates for your cursor? Basically, I move my cursor to somewhere on my screen, it shows me the x,y coordinates and has an option to copy them to the clipboard or export them somehow. I can already do this if I take a screenshot and open it in MS Paint, then as I move the mouse cursor over the screenshot it shows the coordinates in the status bar, however I have to manually write them down, hence its not convenient.

    I can't get access to Aero transparency themes in Windows 7. The troubleshooter says that I need to close programs that are using mirror drivers in order for that to work. I've looked through my task manager list of running applications and I can't see any that jump out as the culprit. Is there a program that will tell me what the app causing this issue is? MS Troubleshooter doesn't give me the details.

  • Java Copy/Paste org.w3c.dom.Node between two running copies of the same program

    I have a program that shows a tree representation of an XML file. Using a number of sources online I have Copy/Paste within a single instance of the program working. I am using the system Clipboard. What I need though is to be able to copy a node from one instance of the program and paste to a different instance of the same program. I have tried a number of different options, all resulting in the same behavior. When pasting from within the same application the clipboardContent contains a "transferable" object with the correct data along with an isLocal set to "true". When I perform the copy and then attempt the paste from another instance of the same program running the clipboardContent contains a "flavorsToData" HashMap and "flavors" values, the check for isDataFlavorSupported fails (never hits my custom class that represents the new flavor). I have tried using different values for the requestor object in the getContents() call. Likewise I have tried a few different ClipboardOwners for the setContent() call. Neither seem to change the behavior in any way. I am sorely tempted to convert the node that is being copied back into a textual XML format, and then on the paste convert back to the DOM model, but would rather not if possible.   • apache htaccess rewrite rules make redirection loop

    Hi guys, Have a very strange problem with Apache .htaccess URL Rewriting and Redirection. Here's my setup: I have a zend application with a single point of entry (index.php) directly under my apache document root (call this the "public" folder). I also have all other public files (images, js, css, etc.) under the public folder. Here, I also have a wordpress blog under the "blog" folder. There's an empty test folder too The Problem When I go to mydomain.com/blog, I get redirected to http://www.theredpin.com/blog (correctly), then to http://www.theredpin.com/blog/ (just with an extra / at end), finally to http://theredpin.com/blog/ -- and we're back where we started. The loop continues. What I don't understand is why would wordpress try to remove the www? I'm guessing it's wordpress because my empty test folder acts just fine! PLEASE HELP. I"M REALLY DESPERATE :( Thank you very much Other things that happen: When I go to mydomain.com, i correctly get redirected to www.mydomain.com When I go to www.mydomain.com, i correctly stay where I am When I go to www.mydomain.com/test or mydomain.com/test, behaviour is correct.   • VERY strange stack overflow in C++ program

    Hello, I wrote a program some time ago (Mac OS X, C++, SDL, FMOD) and it perfomed rather good. But lately I wanted to extend its functionality and added some more code to it. And now, when I run it and try to test the new functionality, the program crashes with SIGABRT. Looking into debugger, on function stack I see: _kill kill$UNIX2003 raise __abort __stack_chk_fail odtworz <-- my function that was was modified As far as I know, "__stack_chk_fail" indicates a stack overflow. But that's not the weirdest thing about it. In this function "odtworz", I have some code like this: ... koniec = 0; while ( koniec == 0 ) { ... if (mode == 1) { ... } else if (mode == 2) { ... } else if (mode == 3) { ... } } mode is a global variable and is set to value "2" in a function before. And now imagine - if I delete the third if statement (mode == 3) which never gets executed in this mode, the program doesn't crash! Deleting code that doesn't even get to be executed helps the situation! Now, I don't want to delete this code because it's for other mode of my program. And it works fine there. So any hints where I can search? What could be possibly wrong with this?

  • Rewrite rules for subfolders

    This may seem like a silly question but I can't figure it out. let's say I have a public_html folder with various folders like: Albatross, Blackbirds, Crows and Faqs. I want to make it so that any traffic to Albatross/faqs.php, Blackbirds/faqs.php, Crows/faqs.php etc will see the file that is at faqs/faqs.php?bird=albatross or faqs/faqs.php?bird=crows or what have you. If I go into the Albatross folder's .htaccess file I can do this RewriteRule faqs.php$ /faqs/faqs.php?cat=albatross[QSA] Which works fine, but I want to put something in the top level .htacces that works for all of them, so tried: RewriteRule faqs.php$ /faqs/faqs.php?cat=albatross[QSA] RewriteRule /(.*)/faqs.php$ /faqs/faqs.php?cat=$1 [QSA] and even RewriteRule /albatross/faqs.php$ /faqs/faqs.php?cat=albatross [QSA] and various others but nothing seems to work, when I go to http://www.birdsandwhatnot.com/albatross/faqs.php I see the same file the same way it's always been. Does the presence of an .htaccess file in the subfolder conflict with the higher up .htaccess file? Am I missing something?

Also I've tried the static route with myapplication/public or following standard route: 'myapplication/public/:controller/:action/*' - it result with "An error occurred Page not found Exception information: Message: No route matched the request" and empty request Is there any way to assembly subdomain with subfolder in Zend Framwork??   • Can you review my Perl rewrite of Cucumber?

    There is a team working on acceptance testing X11 GUI application in our company, and they created a monstrous acceptance testing framework that drives the GUI as well as running scenarios. The framework is written using Perl 5, and scenario files look more like very complex Perl programs (thousands of lines long with procedural-programming style) than acceptance tests. I recently learned Ruby's Cucumber, and generally have been using Ruby for quite a lot of time. But unfortunately I can't just shove Ruby to replace Perl because the people who are writing all of this don't know Ruby and it's quite certain that they wont want "this" kind of interruption. So to bring Ruby's Cucumber a bit closer to their work, I rewrote it using Perl 5. Unfortunately I am really not a Perl programmer, and would love to get a code review and to hear suggestions from people who both know Perl and Cucumber.     Where do you guys store 3rd party (and your own) components? Do you keep separate copies per Delphi version?   • Help with route rewrite in asp.net mvc

    Im having a really hard time understanding routing. Please help me with this problem. Each of my controllers have these three actions right now Users have Index, Create and Edit Locations have Index, Create and Edit Companies have Index, Create and Edit The thing is, it all gets done through ajax. I have jquery ui tabs with two tabs for each, Create and Edit So the Index method is always the one that gets called for action links. and inside this main view is that you can call(by clicking on the tab icon) the other methods that return an ajax view that gets output into the jqeury tab (I hope thats clear) I have a sidebar with links to the controllers. and to specific methods of these controllers. The wanted behavior is that it should actually go into the Index Method and then with some logic autoload the wanted tab. It all works just fine right now. But my urls are horrible. To get to the create method for Users I have to go this url http://localhost/Users/Index/1 http://localhost/Users/Index/2 I want the behavior of these links to be remapped to these links http://localhost/Users/Create http://localhost/Users/Edit So even though it seems as if you are calling the Create method of the controller you are actualling always calling the Index Method.... (I know how to transform Create into "1" and Edit into two, so dont worry about that part Hope thats clear. Thanks in advance Edit: Just realized that this might not be possible cause then when I actually need to call the methods (with ajax) it wont know what to do.... am I correct?

    Hi, I played around with buffer overflows on Linux (amd64) and tried exploiting a simple program, but it failed. I disabled the security features (address space layout randomization with sysctl -w kernel.randomize_va_space=0 and nx bit in the bios). It jumps to the stack and executes the shellcode, but it doesn't start a shell. The execve syscall succeeds but afterwards it just terminates. Any idea what's wrong? Running the shellcode standalone works just fine. Bonus question: Why do I need to set rax to zero before calling printf? The URL can end at the third "/" or go on with more text and "/". I have been trying with a lot of rules but never got any to work.   • Problem with Japanese/International Characters with IIS7 URL Rewrite

    I have a friend with a Japanese blog, using wordpress, he has the pretty url. Basically domain.com/postname. Well an example of a url might be. "domain.com/???". His blog is hosted on an Apache web server. I am running IIS7 and am trying to get my Japanese blog going like it should, and have "domain.com/???" show just that one post when you visit that url. My thinking is it has something to do with url-encoding. I can't find too much information on utf-8 or anything about getting international characters to work in a url. Any help on this would be great. I am thinking I should change something in the web.config file, but not to sure. I haven't had a lot of experience with IIS7. Thanks.

  • Java Server Client Program I/O Exception

    I made this program: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/sockets/clientServer.html And it works perfectly if I put the server's hostname as 127.0.0.1 or my computers name (Ajay-PC). However these 2 methods are LAN or local only not internet. So I changed it to my internet ip. 70.128.xxx.xxx etc. But it didn't work. I checked: canyouseeme.org and it said 4444 was CLOSED. So I did a quick port forward. Portforward: Name: My Java Program Start Port: 4444 End Port: 4444 Server IP: 10.0.0.12 <-- (Yeah this is my Local IP I checked) then I tried canyouseeme.org AGAIN: and it said 4444 was OPEN I ran my server client program and it yet to work. So my problem is the client server program is not working on the internet just locally. So something is blocking it and I don't know what. Computer: Windows Vista x64 Norton AntiVirus 2010 Thanks!     Below is a much simplified version of what I have in the configuration file of a server run by Nginx 1.2.5, yet it causes 301 Moved Permanently with Location: http://example.com/phpmyadmin/ before serving data, which is not what I expected from the default behavior of the rewrite directive. server { listen 80; location /pma { rewrite ^ /phpmyadmin; } location /phpmyadmin { root /var/www; index Documentation.html; } } When I follow http://example.com/pma, the data is served but the URL in the browser is changed to http://example.com/phpmyadmin/ while it was supposed to stay http://example.com/pma. How do I avoid Nginx sending 301 Moved Permanently so that it doesn't expose the actual directory structure on my server?

Now I'd like to go further and redo it using some more complicated java features like collections, but I've never used anything more complicated than 2d matrix. What should I look at and how to start with it. Should Tower become a Collection ? And here's the task : We have two classes - Tower and Block. Towers are built from Blocks.
