    - by icoolninja
    So I have defined variables in such a way in my file: public static final String hello_world = "hello world" public static final String awesome_world = "awesome world" public static final String bye_world= "bye world" I have many declarations like that. Is it possible to format them as(All '=' in a line): public static final String hello_world = "hello world" public static final String awesome_world = "awesome world" public static final String bye_world = "bye world" I can't even think of a way to do it. Any kind of help is appreciated. P.S If it matters, I use sublime text 2.

  • How to call split(token) on a string that does not contain the token without causing an error?

    - by Vorinowsky
    I have two types of strings as the IDs of elements in my HTML markup: Dates: "april-23" "march-20" and season names: "springtime" "winter" The dates have a dash separating the month and the day. The seasons are a single word with no other tokens. I want to assign the month or the season to a new variable called: time_of_year If I do this: var time_of_year = $(this).attr("id").split('-')[0]; It will work on the months but if I call it on a season name which does not contain the token, will it generate an error? What's the safe way to do this?

  • jQuery: Quick question. How to select string variable?

    - by user317563
    Hello world, EDIT: I would like to avoid doing something like this: var str = 'Hello'; if ( str == 'Hello') { alert(str); } I would rather do: var str = 'Hello'; $(str).filter(':contains("Hello")').each(function(){ alert(this) }); I've tried a lot of things: $(str).text().method1().method2().method3(); $(str).val().method1().method2().method3(); $(str).contents().method1().method2().method3(); Nothing worked. Is it possible to do this? Thank you for your time. Kind regards, Marius

  • Build comma seperated string from the struct in C#

    - by acadia
    Hello, I have the following struct in C# class public struct Employee { public const string EMPID = "EMP_ID"; public const string FName = "FIRST_NAME"; public const string LNAME = "LAST_NAME"; public const string DEPTID = "DEPT_ID"; } Is there an easy way to build a string as follows const string mainquery="INSERT INTO EMP(EMP_ID,FIRST_NAME,LAST_NAME,DEPT_ID) VALUES(:EMP_ID,:FIRST_NAME,:LAST_NAME,:DEPT_ID)" Instead of doing as follows and then concatenating it. const string EMP_COLS= EMPLOYEE.EMPID + "," + EMPLOYEE.FNAME + "," + EMPLOYEE.LNAME + "," + EMPLOYEE.DEPTID; const string EMP_Values= EMPLOYEE.EMPID + ":" + EMPLOYEE.FNAME + ":" + EMPLOYEE.LNAME + ":" + EMPLOYEE.DEPTID;

  • rb_str_modify() equivalent in the Ruby language

    - by Hagbard
    I was trying to add a method to the String class. This method should mutate the current string (of course it would be possible to write a not mutating version but I'd prefer the mutating one). I had no idea how to do this and after some googling I found the method rb_str_modify which makes a given string mutable. That's exactly what I need but I couldn't find an equivalent in the Ruby language. Did I miss something or is there really no possibility in the language itself?

  • Display a JSON-string as a table

    - by Martin Aleksander
    I'm totally new to JSON, and have a json-string I need to display as a user-friendly table. I have this file, http://ish.tek.no/json_top_content.php?project_id=11&period=week, witch is showing ID-numbers for products (title) and the number of views. The Title-ID should be connected to this file; http://api.prisguide.no/export/product.php?id=158200 so I can get a table like this: ID | Product Name | Views 158200 | Samsung Galaxy SIII | 21049 How can I do this?

  • Chrome causing 404's ending with "/cache/[hex-string]/"?

    - by Jan Fabry
    Since the last weeks we see many 404's on our sites caused by Chrome adding /cache/[hex-string]/ to the current page URL. The hex strings we have seen are: e9c5ecc3f9d7fa1291240700c8da0728 1d292296547f895c613a210468b705b7 408cfdf76534ee8f14657ac884946ef2 9b0771373b319ba4f132b9447c7060a4 b8cd4270356f296f1c5627aa88d43349 If you search for these strings you get matches from different sites, but they are most likely auto-generated (/search/cache/e9c5ecc3f9d7fa1291240700c8da0728/ for example). Is this a known issue with Chrome (or an extension)?

  • Meta package / quick reference for command line string manipulation tools?

    - by Dylan McCall
    The latest version of the Scribes text editor lets us select some text, hit Alt+X, and then run an arbitrary command. For example, I can run the sort command and the selected text is replaced appropriately. This is quite useful but I am also not very well-versed in awk and the like. Is there something I can grab that will provide more of these commands like sort? Maybe a package with a whole bunch of handy, task-specific string manipulation commands?

    - by Bojan
    When I create strongly typed View in Asp.net mvc 2, .net 4.0 with model type Tuple I get error when Tuple have more than 4 items example 1: type of view is Tuple<string, string, string, string> (4-tuple) and everything works fine view: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/WebUI.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<Tuple<string, string, string, string>>" %> controller: var tuple = Tuple.Create("a", "b", "c", "d"); return View(tuple); example 2: type of view is Tuple<string, string, string, string, string> (5-tuple) and I have this error: Compiler Error Message: CS1003: Syntax error, '>' expected view: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/WebUI.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<Tuple<string, string, string, string, string>>" %> controller: var tuple = Tuple.Create("a", "b", "c", "d", "e"); return View(tuple); example 3 if my view model is of type dynamic I can use both 4-tuple and 5-tuple and there is no error on page view: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/WebUI.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<dynamic>" %> controller: dynamic model = new ExpandoObject(); model.tuple = Tuple.Create("a", "b", "c", "d"); return View(model); or view: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/WebUI.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<dynamic>" %> controller: dynamic model = new ExpandoObject(); model.tuple = Tuple.Create("a", "b", "c", "d", "e"); return View(model); Even if I have something like Tuple<string, Tuple<string, string, string>, string> 3-tuple and one of the items is also a tuple and sum of items in all tuples is more than 4 I get the same error, Tuple<string, Tuple<string, string>, string> works fine

  • ASP.NET List Control

    - by Ricardo Peres
    Today I developed a simple control for generating lists in ASP.NET, something that the base class library does not contain; it allows for nested lists where the list item types and images can be configured on a list by list basis. Since it was a great fun to develop, I'd like to share it here. Here is the code: [ParseChildren(true)] [PersistChildren(false)] public class List: WebControl { public List(): base("ul") { this.Items = new List(); this.ListStyleType = ListStyleType.Auto; this.ListStyleImageUrl = String.Empty; this.CommonCssClass = String.Empty; this.ContainerCssClass = String.Empty; } [DefaultValue(ListStyleType.Auto)] public ListStyleType ListStyleType { get; set; } [DefaultValue("")] [UrlProperty("*.png;*.gif;*.jpg")] public String ListStyleImageUrl { get; set; } [DefaultValue("")] [CssClassProperty] public String CommonCssClass { get; set; } [DefaultValue("")] [CssClassProperty] public String ContainerCssClass { get; set; } [Browsable(false)] [PersistenceModeAttribute(PersistenceMode.InnerProperty)] public List Items { private set; get; } protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer) { String cssClass = String.Join(" ", new String [] { this.CssClass, this.ContainerCssClass }); if (cssClass.Trim().Length != 0) { this.CssClass = cssClass; } if (String.IsNullOrEmpty(this.ListStyleImageUrl) == false) { this.Style[ HtmlTextWriterStyle.ListStyleImage ] = String.Format("url('{0}')", this.ResolveClientUrl(this.ListStyleImageUrl)); } if (this.ListStyleType != ListStyleType.Auto) { switch (this.ListStyleType) { case ListStyleType.Circle: case ListStyleType.Decimal: case ListStyleType.Disc: case ListStyleType.None: case ListStyleType.Square: this.Style [ HtmlTextWriterStyle.ListStyleType ] = this.ListStyleType.ToString().ToLower();     - by PearlFactory
    Moved from Home to work and went to fire up my project and after long pause "The provider did not return a ProviderManifestToken string" or even More Abscure ProviderIncompatable Exception Now after 20 mins of chasing my tail re different ver of EntityFramework 4.1 vs 4.2...blahblahblah Look inside at the inner exception A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible DOH!!!! Or a clean translation is that it cant find SQL or is offline or not running.
