Virtual host Alias not routing properly

I apologize if this question has been asked many times in the past. I am not 100% sure of the exact cause of my issue and am out of google magic right now. Basically I have a virtual host file setup with an Alias record that points to a different directory other the document root. It basically looks like this <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName iBusinessCentral.com ServerAdmin [email protected] DocumentRoot /var/www/marketingsites/ ServerAlias iBusinessCentral.com *.iBusinessCentral.com Alias /unsub "/var/www/unsub/site_index/" </VirtualHost> When I navigate to ibusinesscentral.com/unsub/?randomquerystring I am directed to the correct folder. If I remove the query string and navigate to ibusinesscentral.com/unsub/ I am taken to the directory in the document root. The unsub directory is a zend application and I need to be able to navigate to different url paths like ibusinesscentral.com/unsub/unenroll?querystring I have tried using AliasMatch instead of Alias. I have also tried adding a slash after the unsub portion of the Alias record, and have not had any luck to this point. Thanks in advance for any assistance

Cannot browse Visual SVN Repositories

I went through Unable to browse repository after setting visual SVN Server and tried to implement the answer suggested but even the IP address is not solving my problem. I have 1) Turned off firewall 2) Set the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\VisualSVN Server security rights to "full control" for all groups including "Network service" group. 3) Set the directory D:\Repositories security rights to "full control" for most groups including "Network service" group. 4) Tried switching between secure and non-secure connection option in visual svn server manager. 5) Tried different with port numbers. Including 443 (with https) and 80 (http). Also tried giving random ports with/without https. Using computer name/ IP address in the url doesn't help. Windows network diagnostics - Troubleshooting report has following message for me. Security policy settings or firewall settings on this computer might be blocking the connection. = Detected Can someone guide me please? I have spent more than two weeks on this now without any solution. Thanks in advance! I appreciate your responses.

how to remove location block from $uri in nginx configuration?

I have a rewrite in my ngix conf file that works properly except it seems to include the location block as part of the $uri variable. I only want the path after the location block. My current config code is: location /cargo { try_files $uri $uri/ /cargo/index.php?_REWRITE_COMMAND=$uri&args; } Using an example url of http://localhost/cargo/testpage the redirect works, however the value of the "_REWRITE_COMMAND" parameter received by my php file is "/cargo/testpage". I need to strip off the location block and just have "testpage" as the $uri I am pretty sure there is a regex syntax to split the $uri and assign it to a new variable using $1 $2 etc, but I can't find any example to do just a variable assignment using a regex that is not part of a rewrite statement. I've been looking and trying for hours and I just can't seem to get past this last step. I also know I could just strip this out on the application code, but the reason I want to try to fix it in the nginx conf is for compatibility reasons as it also runs on Apache. I also should say that I have figured out a really hacky way to do it, but it involves an "if" statement to check for file existance and the documentation specifically says not to do it that way. -- UPDATE: ANSWERED BY theuni: The regex goes in the location block definition. one note of caution is that php handler location needs to be ABOVE this location, otherwise you will get a server error because it goes into an infinite redirect loop location ~ ^/cargo/(.*) { try_files $1 /cargo/$1/ /cargo/index.php?_REWRITE_COMMAND=$1&args; }

What software will tell me if I've already downloaded a video? [closed]

(I use Linux KNOPPIX (distro 7.0.2, ver 3.3.7) on hard drive.) I download videos of TV programs from the 60s and 70s (mainly from youtube). I copy the youtube URL then paste it into www.keepvid.com to download it (usually .mp4 format). Having now got dozens of such video files (and growing) on my hard drive, I'd like to organise them. WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO IS: Say I find a new vid (of a TV prog) on youtube (or another site), and I'm about to download it. It's possible that I've WATCHED IT BEFORE but have forgotten. So is there software out there that I can run which will do the following: Check for me if I've ALREADY WATCHED the vid that I'm about to download. At the moment, once I've watched a vid on my hard drive, I move the file to another directory called "Watched". But this of course doesn't alert me in the immediate way that I want. . It would crudely suffice, if the software told me AFTER I've downloaded the vid, if I've ALREADY WATCHED it (ie if it's already in my "Watched" directory, or perhaps in a "watched" list). I sometimes alter the filename of the original video file on hard drive, so this might spoil a comparison. If the software alerts me to the fact that I've already watched the vid (preferably BEFORE I download it), then this will allow me to confidently download only new vids that I haven't watched before, and save me duplicating my effort. I'd be most grateful if anyone can suggest such a piece of software, or an alternative solution. I'll be honest, I avoid software that infringes your privacy and control - you know, software that automatically does things behind your back, like upgrades itself over the internet, puts things on your hard drive that you didn't ask for, or sends information from your hard drive to websites.

Failed to Install Xdebug

've registered xdebug in php.ini (as per http://xdebug.org/docs/install) but it's not showing up when i run "php -m" or when i get a test page to run "phpinfo()". I've just installed the latest version of XAMPP. I've used both "zend_extention" and "zend_extention_ts" to specify the path of the xdebug dll. I ensured that my apache server restarted and used the latest change of my php.ini by executing "httpd -k restart". Can anyone provide any suggestions in getting xdebug to show up? HttpClient POST fails to submit the form

Hi, I'm writing an app to check for the bus timetable's. Therefor I need to post some data to a html page, submit it, and parse the resulting page with htmlparser. I also find it confusing, for example, that when I enter the data by hand, the url says, for example, "....HTO=Kaiserplatz&...", but in Firebug, the same Kaiserplatz is connected to a different field, in this case: \<\td class="Start3" Kaiserplatz <\/td (I inserted \ to make it visible) The last line in my code prints the html page, but without having send a request.. it's printed as if there was no input at all... Resolving html entities with NSXMLParse on iPhone

Hi all, i think i read every single web page relating to this problem but i still cannot find a solution to it, so here i am. I have an HTML web page wich is not under my control and i need to parse it from my iPhone application. It calls foundCharacters: for "Bye Bye" and then it calls resolveExternalEntityName:systemID:: with an entityName of "egrave". In this method i'm just returning the character "è" trasformed in an NSData, the foundCharacters is called again adding the string "è" to the previous one "Bye Bye " and then the parser raise the NSXMLParserUndeclaredEntityError error. I have no DTD and i cannot change the html file i'm parsing. Do you have any ideas on this problem? Thanks in advance to all of you, Rob. Update (12/03/2010). Salesforce/PHP - Bulk Outbound message (SOAP), Time out issue - See update #2

Salesforce can send up to 100 requests inside 1 SOAP message. While sending this type of Bulk Ooutbound message request my PHP script finishes executing but SF fails to accept the ACK used to clear the message queue on the Salesforce side of things. Looking at the Outbound message log (monitoring) I see all the messages in a pending state with the Delivery Failure Reason "java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out". If my script has finished execution, why do I get this error? I have tried these methods to increase the execution time on my server as I have no access on the Salesforce side: set_time_limit(0); // in the script max_execution_time = 360 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds max_input_time = 360 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data memory_limit = 32M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume I used the high settings just for testing. Any thoughts as to why this is failing the ACK delivery back to Salesforce? I can process about 25 requests (That are in 1 SOAP response) but once I go over that I get the timeout error in the Salesforce queue. for 50 requests is usually takes my PHP script 86.77 seconds. Could it be Apache? PHP? I have also tested just accepting the 100 request SOAP response and just accepting and sending the ACK the queue clears out, so I know it's on my side of things. I show no errors in the apache log, the script runs fine. I did find some info on the Salesforce site but still no luck. Here is the link. Also I'm using the PHP Toolkit 11 (From Salesforce). Other forum with good SF help Thanks for any insight into this, --Phill UPDATE: If I receive the incoming message and print the response, should this happen first regardless if I do anything else after? Or does it wait for my process to finish and then print the response? UPDATE #2: okay I think I have the problem: PHP uses the single thread processing approach and will not send back the ACK file until the thread has completed it's processing. Is there a way to make this a mutli thread process? Thread #1 - accept the incoming SOAP request and send back the ACK Thread #2 - Process the SOAP request I know I could break it up into like a DB table or flat file, but is there a way to accomplish this without doing that? I'm going to try to close the socket after the ACK submission and continue the processing, cross my fingers it will work.

On REST: WADL or not IDL, is the following approach right ?

This question is a bit long, please bear with me. In REST, i think we should not need WADL or any IDL. But rather something that would implicitly cover its concept. The way I think about it is when we (humans) surf the Web, when we go to a web site for the first time, we don't know what services it provides. You discover those on the html home page (or a sitemap page in a help section) or maybe just the main menu on the home page. If you make an analogy, the homepage or site map to us humans is what WSDL is to WS-* or what WADL could be to a REST service. Only that its just like any other html content. I think that in REST the following is a good way to do things, respecting the HATEOS paradigm. Have a top level (or default) resource that lists links to your other resources. For a library example, say RestLibrary.com/ it could be something like: <root xmlns:lib="http://librarystandards.com/libraryml"> <resource class="lib:book"> <link type="application/vnd.libraryml+xml" template="mylib.com/book/{isbn}" /> <link type="application/vnd.libraryml+xml" rel="add" href="mylib.com/book" method="POST" /> <link type="application/vnd.libraryml+xml" rel="update" template="mylib.com/book/{isbn}" method="PUT" /> </resource> <resource class="lib:bookList"> <link template="mylib.com/book?keywords={keywords}" type="application/vnd.openlibrary+xml" rel="search" /> </resource> </root> Note that it is assumed that the media type "application/vnd.libraryml+xml" is a defined standard or (may be just proprietary vocabulary) named libraryml. Also, the client should be able to understand this "homepage" resource (elements root, resource and link). This is the part that could be used instead of WADL : an Abstract vocabulary that should be understandable by any client. You could use an existing standard like Atom for example. But the main idea is to have an abstract vocabulary understandable by any client. Why not WADL then ? well wadl is only for service discovery. The idea here is to have an light abstract vocabulary that would serve as a base for hypermedia. A "root" vocabulary. Like in owl we have owl:thing...etc Now if the client knows the "libraryml" standard it can follow the links to the things it understands (after parsing the media type properties and xmlns). If not, it just won't. When i can't understand how to deal with something in REST architecture i tend to see how we Humans do it in the Web. In the Web, we have the Generic language that is HTML that enables site builders to deliver any specific content, regardless of its meaning to the client (the user), Browsers understand HTML but not the "meaning" of its content. It is the user that understands the (domain specific) content. If i go to say QuantumPhysics.org, my browser can render the home page (it is just html after all) and i can read the home page. If i understand quantum then fine i can continue browsing. If i don't i just get out (unless i want to learn the hardway :) ) In the RetsLibrary.com example the client app is just like me+my browser on QuantumPhysics.org. the media type "application/vnd.libraryml+xml" is quantum physics (knowledge). http is http in both examples. Now HTML of QuantumPhysics.org is in RestLibrary.com is XML + that tiny little abstract vocabulary (root resource and link, that you could replace with something like Atom). So does this approach have any value ? don't we need a root tiny hyper-vocabulary so we can succeed with hypermedia and the "initial URI" concept ? edit Yeah why not RDF as the root vocabulary !

Android - Saving an object in onSaveInstanceState?

I have created a small XML parsing application for Android that displays information in a listview and then allows a user to click on the list view and a dialog with further info will pop up. The problem is that when the screen orientation is changed when a dialog screen is open I get a null pointer error. The problem is in this file on line 147. The 22th character (which in utf-8 consists of \xd6 \xb8) is split between the d6 and b8 with a new line. This should not happen. Now, I am interested if someone else has this problem or can reproduce it. And why I am getting this problem. Modern Java alternatives

I'm not sure if stackoverflow is the best forum for this discussion. I have been a Java developer for 14 years and have written an enterprise-level (~500,000 line) Swing application that uses most of the standard library APIs. Recently, I have become disappointed with the progress that the language has made to "modernize" itself, and am looking for an alternative for ongoing development. I have considered moving to the .NET platform, but I have issues with using something the only runs well in Windows (I know about Mono, but that is still far behind Microsoft). I also plan on buying a new Macbook Pro as soon as Apple releases their new rumored Arrandale-based machines and want to develop in an environment that will feel "at home" in Unix/Linux. I have considered using Python or Ruby, but the standard Java library is arguably the largest of any modern language. In JVM-based languages, I looked at Groovy, but am disappointed with its performance. Rumor has it that with the soon-to-be released JDK7, with its InvokeDynamic instruction, this will improve, but I don't know how much. Groovy is also not truly a functional language, although it provides closures and some of the "functional" features on collections. It does not embrace immutability. I have narrowed my search down to two JVM-based alternatives: Scala and Clojure. Each has its strengths and weaknesses. I am looking for the stackoverflow readerships' opinions. I am not an expert at either of these languages; I have read 2 1/2 books on Scala and am currently reading Stu Halloway's book on Clojure. Scala is strongly statically typed. I know the dynamic language folks claim that static typing is a crutch for not doing unit testing, but it does provide a mechanism for compile-time location of a whole class of errors. Scala is more concise than Java, but not as much as Clojure. Scala's inter-operation with Java seems to be better than Clojure's, in that most Java operations are easier to do in Scala than in Clojure. For example, I can find no way in Clojure to create a non-static initialization block in a class derived from a Java superclass. For example, I like the Apache commons CLI library for command line argument parsing. In Java and Scala, I can create a new Options object and add Option items to it in an initialization block as follows (Java code): final Options options = new Options() { { addOption(new Option("?", "help", false, "Show this usage information"); // other options } }; I can't figure out how to the same thing in Clojure (except by using (doit...)), although that may reflect my lack of knowledge of the language. Clojure's collections are optimized for immutability. They rarely require copy-on-write semantics. I don't know if Scala's immutable collections are implemented using similar algorithms, but Rich Hickey (Clojure's inventor) goes out of his way to explain how that language's data structures are efficient. Clojure was designed from the beginning for concurrency (as was Scala) and with modern multi-core processors, concurrency takes on more importance, but I occasionally need to write simple non-concurrent utilities, and Scala code probably runs a little faster for these applications since it discourages, but does not prohibit, "simple" mutability. One could argue that one-off utilities do not have to be super-fast, but sometimes they do tasks that take hours or days to complete. I know that there is no right answer to this "question", but I thought I would open it up for discussion. If anyone has a suggestion for another JVM-based language that can be used for enterprise level development, please list it. Also, it is not my intent to start a flame war. Thanks, Ralph

Why do I get the error "Only antlib URIs can be located from the URI alone,not the URI" when trying to run hibernate tools in my build.xml

I'm trying to run hibernate tools in an ant build to generate ddl from my JPA annotations. Ant dies on the taskdef tag. I've tried with ant 1.7, 1.6.5, and 1.6 to no avail. I've tried both in eclipse and outside. I've tried including all the hbn jars in the hibernate-tools path and not. nsdata to nsstring to nsdata

Hello everybody. I am calling the webservices. The web service returns data in xml format. Now the problem is the xml data is not being received in proper format. In place of "<", "" it returns in html format like-(<) and (>) . So i assigned the xmldata to a NsMutableString and replaced the escape characters so that the format of xml data is proper. Then i reassigned the NSMutableString to NSData so that i can parse the tags. but the problem is the xmlparser stops right where the xml data is. Where i replaced the tags. it doesnt go further. can anybody make me understand what is going on???? HttpWebRequest: How to find a postal code at Canada Post through a WebRequest with x-www-form-enclos

I'm currently writing some tests so that I may improve my skills with the Internet interaction through Windows Forms. One of those tests is to find a postal code which should be returned by Canada Post website. My default URL setting is set to: http://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/fpc/personal/findByCity?execution=e4s1 The required form fields are: streetNumber, streetName, city, province The contentType is "application/x-www-form-enclosed" EDIT: Please consider the value "application/x-www-form-encoded" instead of point 3 value as the contentType. (Thanks EricLaw-MSFT!) The result I get is not the result expected. I get the HTML source code of the page where I could manually enter the information to find the postal code, but not the HTML source code with the found postal code. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong? Shall I consider going the XML way? Is it first of all possible to search on Canada Post anonymously? boost::function & boost::lambda again

Ultimately what I'm trying to achieve is using width & precision specifiers for strings with format. boost::format does not support the use of the * width & precision specifiers, as indicated in the docs: Width or precision set to asterisk (*) are used by printf to read this field from an argument. e.g. printf("%1$d:%2$.*3$d:%4$.*3$d\n", hour, min, precision, sec); This class does not support this mechanism for now. so such precision or width fields are quietly ignored by the parsing. so I'm trying to find other ways to accomplish the same goal. Optimal storage of data structure for fast lookup and persistence

Scenario I have the following methods: public void AddItemSecurity(int itemId, int[] userIds) public int[] GetValidItemIds(int userId) Initially I'm thinking storage on the form: itemId -> userId, userId, userId and userId -> itemId, itemId, itemId AddItemSecurity is based on how I get data from a third party API, GetValidItemIds is how I want to use it at runtime. There are potentially 2000 users and 10 million items. Item id's are on the form: 2007123456, 2010001234 (10 digits where first four represent the year). AddItemSecurity does not have to perform super fast, but GetValidIds needs to be subsecond. Also, if there is an update on an existing itemId I need to remove that itemId for users no longer in the list. I'm trying to think about how I should store this in an optimal fashion. Preferably on disk (with caching), but I want the code maintainable and clean. If the item id's had started at 0, I thought about creating a byte array the length of MaxItemId / 8 for each user, and set a true/false bit if the item was present or not. That would limit the array length to little over 1mb per user and give fast lookups as well as an easy way to update the list per user. By persisting this as Memory Mapped Files with the .Net 4 framework I think I would get decent caching as well (if the machine has enough RAM) without implementing caching logic myself. Parsing the id, stripping out the year, and store an array per year could be a solution. The ItemId - UserId[] list can be serialized directly to disk and read/write with a normal FileStream in order to persist the list and diff it when there are changes. Each time a new user is added all the lists have to updated as well, but this can be done nightly. Question Should I continue to try out this approach, or are there other paths which should be explored as well? I'm thinking SQL server will not perform fast enough, and it would give an overhead (at least if it's hosted on a different server), but my assumptions might be wrong. Any thought or insights on the matter is appreciated. And I want to try to solve it without adding too much hardware :) [Update 2010-03-31] I have now tested with SQL server 2008 under the following conditions. Table with two columns (userid,itemid) both are Int Clustered index on the two columns Added ~800.000 items for 180 users - Total of 144 million rows Allocated 4gb ram for SQL server Dual Core 2.66ghz laptop SSD disk Use a SqlDataReader to read all itemid's into a List Loop over all users If I run one thread it averages on 0.2 seconds. When I add a second thread it goes up to 0.4 seconds, which is still ok. From there on the results are decreasing. Adding a third thread brings alot of the queries up to 2 seonds. A forth thread, up to 4 seconds, a fifth spikes some of the queries up to 50 seconds. The CPU is roofing while this is going on, even on one thread. My test app takes some due to the speedy loop, and sql the rest. Which leads me to the conclusion that it won't scale very well. At least not on my tested hardware. Are there ways to optimize the database, say storing an array of int's per user instead of one record per item. But this makes it harder to remove items.

C# Windows Service XML

Scenario I have a windows service written in C# that performs some processing based on parsing an XML file and use that data to carry out various tasks. The service also does various bits of logging - which uses settings from an APP.Config file. The Problem When the service is compiled, installed and run, the XML file seems to disappear. I'm getting the impression that it is just ignored or something like that. So far I've tried using TWO App.Config files, one named App.Config that contains settings for the service, and the other called MyService.exe.config that contains all of the data that was used in the XML file (the idea being that I can parse the XML from a config file that actually gets compiled and appears in my installation directory. However When I do this, all that happens is that ONE config file appears (with the name MyService.exe.config), but it contains the contents of the App.Config file and not the XML data that I want to parse. What I need All I want is to have a config file for my settings, and an XML file for my data. Question Is this possible? I know the application works as it was originally built as a console application that ran fine. Other The application has to be designed this way (as in, I need my data stored as XML, and my settings stored in a config file). Thoughts If I could somehow combine the contents of the two files into ONE config file, that would be one way of solving the problem. However, I have tried this and of course I get a "Type Initialisation Exception", as the config file cannot interprate the XML data (probably because the tags are custom and do not form any part of the config schema - or something like that). Ideas Please could someone explain to me if it is possible for me to have an XML file AND a config file that will actually be compiled and stored in my installation directory for the service when it is run?
