    Hi, I am using the Apache commons logging library and log4j to generate my log files. Now I want to create a new file every time I run my program. The current count should be appended to the log file's name. For example: program_1.log program_2.log program_3.log Do you know how I could achieve this?

  • What libraries provide cross-platform 3D and P2P support?

    I'm trying to find a constellation of libraries which, taken together, meet the following requirements: Smooth scaling, rotation, panning (in two dimensions). I'll have a large bitmap (or SVG, in some cases), maybe up to 10000x10000 pixels, which serves as map, with some middling number of small bitmaps (or, again, possibly SVG) that can be dragged around over it. I need to be able to zoom, rotate, and pan this scene; however, the view will always be normal to (i.e., looking head-on at) the large bitmap, so I'm not really using the depth dimension. Peer-to-peer. I'd like for multiple users to be able to connect in order to share one of the scenes mentioned above, preferably peer-to-peer, without much configuration by the user. I'm intending to have a server running for cases where users are unable to connect P2P; I'd like to have the failover happen automatically, or possibly have some way of promoting clients who are capable to be servers themselves. Synchronization. Once a user has started dragging one of the small bitmaps (a piece), no other user should be able to drag that piece until the drag stops. I haven't thought of exactly how to do this---there might be a simple solution, or this kind of synchronization might be something that a library provides. Cross(ish)-platform. I need to be able to run on Linux, Windows, and Mac OS. It would be nice to also be able to run on tablets. Having mostly the same code for all platforms is a plus, but not absolutely necessary. (L)GPL compatible. I'm planning to release under the LGPL or GPL, preferably the latter, so I need libraries which have compatible licenses. I'm not set on any particular language, I'd like to use the library or libraries which make the work easiest, though my preference is to work in at most two languages for the project. (The Model could potentially be in one language and the View in another, so they could talk to each other via some protocol I define, if that would get me a better selection of libraries to use.) Can anyone offer suggestions for what to use?

But: I have to skip holidays - non-recurrent situation I have to skip weekends - recurrent situation I have to not count working time (e.g: from 8:00am till 5:00pm) - recurrent situation, but with finer granularity Is there a simple way to achieve these cases using Joda time library?

  • .Net Custom Components "disappear" after file save

    I might have a hard time explaining this because I am at a total loss for what is happening so I am just looking for some guidance. I might be a bit wordy because I don't know exactly what is the relevant information. I am developing a GUI for a project that I am working on in using .Net (C#) Part of the interface mimics, exactly, what we do in another product. For consistency reasons, my boss wants me to make it look the same way. So I got the other software and basically copied and pasted the components into my new GUI. This required me to introduce a component library (the now defunct Graphics Server GSNet, so I can't go to them for help) so I could implement some simple graphs and temperature/pressure "widgets." The components show up fine, and when I compile, everything seems to work fine. However, at some point during my programming it just breaks. Sometimes the tab that these components are on starts throwing exceptions when I view the designer page (A missing method exception) so it won't display. Sometimes JUST those components from the GSNet library don't show up. Sometimes, if I try to run it, I get a not-instantiated exception on one of their lines of code in the designer code file. Sometimes I can't view the designer at all. No matter what I do I can't reverse it. Even if I undo what I just did it won't fix it. If it happens, I have to revert to a backup and start over again. So I started to backup pretty much every step. I compile it and it works. I comment out a line of code, save it, and then uncomment that same line of code (so I am working with the same exact code) and the components all disappear. It doesn't matter what line of code I actually comment out, as long as it is in the same project that these components are being used. I pretty much have to use the components. . . so does anyone have any suggestion or where I can look to debug this?

  • Proper color names from colordialog

    Whenever I run this, and open the color dialog, there are many colors that do not having a proper name, the listbox will show something like "ffff8000"(Orange-Yellow). Is there another way of pushing the proper name?     Im just wondering how i use xmlencoder to serialize ArrayList where foo is my own made class. Do i have to do anything in particular, ie define my own xml structure first and then call toString on each value in my list and write it out?     I am doing some input/output between a c++ and a python program (only floating point values) python has a nice feature of converting floating point values to hex-numbers and back as you can see in this link: http://docs.python.org/library/stdtypes.html#additional-methods-on-float Is there an easy way in C++ to to something similar? and convert the python output back to C++ double/float? This way I would not have the problem of rounding errors when exchanging data between the two processes... thx for the answers!

    I have converted a PowerBuilder application to 11.5 .NET. When it builds, it compiles into a DLL, an EXE and a bunch of “netmodule” files. Are the netmodules necessary for deployment, or just part of some intermediate step? Is there any way to get the compiler to build me one DLL for each pbl (PowerBuilder library)?

Features would also involve basic video playback functionality as well as time-driven meta-data and the ability to extract images from individual video frames. Are there existing open-source web-based tools for video manipulation other than building your own custom Flash app?
