  • Passing report values to a query

    I'm a novice with Microsoft Access as my background is mostly .NET. I'm sure what I'm trying to accomplish is dead simple but I need some direction. I have a report and a query. The query returns a single numeric value based on a single numeric criteria. Select total from table where id = [topic] I have placed a text box on my report so I can feed the id to this query and in return get the total. It seems like DLookUp is what I want but no matter how I construct it, I get an "#Error" in the text box when I run the report. Currently my DLookUp looks like this (I just hard-coded now for simplicity): =DLookUp("[total]","myquery","[topic] = 3") How can I pass a value from a field on my report to a query so I can return the query's single numeric value?   • Cannot running next process when a variable save no value

    First, I wanna compare between 2 tables tb_wrapper and tb_summary to get the data in the tb_wrapper that doesn't exist in the tb_summary then save in $link. If I don't get the same data, I want to print the result $link. When I don't get the not same data, I want it to go to another process.   • Query with multiple IN-statements but without the cartesian product

    How could I make this kind of query e.g. in MySQL SELECT * FROM Table t WHERE t.a IN (1,2,3) AND t.b IN (4,5,6) AND t.c IN (7,8,9) ... so that the result would contain only the three rows: t.a|t.b|t.c ---+---+--- 1 | 4 | 7 2 | 5 | 8 3 | 6 | 9 The above query of course returns all the combinations of the values in the IN clauses but I would like to get just the ones where the first elements of each tuple match, second elements of each tuple match and so on. Is there any efficient way to do this? By the way is there some common term for this kind of query or concept? I'm having hard time coming up with the question's title because I can't put this into words..

    In sql server 2008, I have the following query: select c.title as categorytitle, s.title as subcategorytitle, i.title as itemtitle from categories c join subcategories s on c.categoryid = s.categoryid left join itemcategories ic on s.subcategoryid = ic.subcategoryid left join items i on ic.itemid = i.itemid where (ic.isactive = 1 or ic.isactive is null) and i.siteid = 132 order by c.title, s.title I am trying to get items in their subcategories, but I still want to return a record if there are no items in the category or subcategory. Subcategories that have no items are never returned. What am I doing wrong? Thank you EDIT Modified query with a second left join and where clause, but it's still not returning nulls. :/

    Hi, I have a collection of image paths, and a larger collection of Image objects (Which contain a path property). I have the code to check for any matching images, but if there are supposed to be four matching image paths (as that is how many are in the first collection), and there is less than this, how can I get the missing one without writing loops? List<string> ImagesToCheck = new List<string>() { "", "s", "ssdd" }; IEnumerable<HtmlImage> Images = manager.ActiveBrowser.Find.AllControls<HtmlImage>(); var v = from i in Images where ImagesToCheck.Any(x => x == i.Src) select i; if (v.Count() < 3) { } So I need to get the items which are not in the collection titled v, but are in ImagesToCheck. Do I need to manually loop through the collection to pull out the column I want to compare against, or is there a generic way to handle this?     I have a webpage in asp.net 3.5 that uses the FileUpload control. When a user clicks on the "Browse" button (which is part of the control) the control displays a file select popup (dialog box). When the user selects the file which they wish to upload, by default the full path to the file is shown in the textbox (which is also part of the control); however, I wish for it to only display the file name and not the full path. Anyone know of a slick and easy way to do this?

    I'm using the MonthCalendar control and want to programmatically select a date range. When I do so the control doesn't paint properly if Application.EnableVisualStyles() has been called. This is a known issue according to MSDN. Using the MonthCalendar with visual styles enabled will cause a selection range for the MonthCalendar control to not paint correctly (from: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.monthcalendar.aspx) Is there really no fix for this other than not calling EnableVisualStyles? This seems to make that particular control entirely useless for a range of applications and a rather glaring oversight from my perspective.

  • deep zoom is not displayed

    I am using VSTS 2008 + C# + .Net 3.5 + Windows Vista Enterprise x86. I have used Silverlight Deep Zoom composer tool to export my composed images into Siverlight type. Everything is previewed fine after export successful message (I select browse from browser). But when I click the Test.html in the exported project to show Deep Zoom effects from browser, nothing is displayed. Here is my screen snapshot. Any ideas what is wrong? http://i41.tinypic.com/2dac561.jpg EDIT 1: to my surprise, there is no clientbin folder in my exported project. I have made two screen snapshots for, my project folder generated by Deep Zoom Composer under Exported Data folder; the content of GeneratedImages folder under my project folder.     If I have a pair of dates, and I want to generate a list of all the dates between them (inclusive), I can do something like: System.DateTime s = new System.DateTime(2010, 06, 05); System.DateTime e = new System.DateTime(2010, 06, 09); var list = Enumerable.Range(0, (e - s).Days) .Select(value => s.AddDays(value)); What I'm stuck on is that I've got a list of pairs of dates that I want to explode into a list of all the dates between them. Example: {2010-05-06, 2010-05-09}, {2010-05-12, 2010-05-15} should result in {2010-05-06, 2010-05-07, 2010-05-08, 2010-05-09, 2010-05-12, 2010-05-13, 2010-05-14, 2010-05-15} Note the pairs of dates are guaranteed not to overlap each other.

  • WP: redirect users to a certain category using cookies

    Basically like cragslist. once you select city on craigslist, nexttime when you go to the site, it redirects you to the city you selected. What I want to achieve: When a person comes to the site and selects a particular category, the next time they come to the site (returning user) - the page will open up on that category section. I would think this would be fairly easy to do via setting a cookie when the visitor clicks on the category link (or when the category page loads). When they return the following time, the cookie is read and then the page redirects accordingly. Unfortunately my knowledge of PHP and cookies is limited, (hence my search for answers) so I need to ask if anyone can help me out! Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

  • MySQL - Counting rows in preparation for greatest-n-per-group not working?

    Referring to SO and other sites have given me examples of how to use MySQL to create a 'greatest-n-per-group' query. My variant on this would be to have a query that returns the first 3 rows of each category. As the basis for this I need to sort my data into a usable sequence and that is where my problems start. Running just the sequence query with row numbering shows that changes in category are mostly ignored. I should have 35 categories returning rows but only 5 do so. My query: set @c:=0; set @a:=0; SELECT IF(@c = tdg, @a:=@a+1, @a:=1) AS rownum, (@c:=tdg) , julian_day, sequence, complete, year, tdg FROM tsd WHERE complete = 0 order by tdg, year, julian_day, sequence Do I have a syntax mistake with this query?
