  • XPath to find ancestor node containing CSS class

    - by Juan Mendes
I am writing some Selenium tests and I need to be able to find an ancestor of a WebElement that I have already found. This is what I'm trying but is returning no results // checkbox is also a WebElement WebElement container = checkbox.findElement(By.xpath( "current()/ancestor-or-self::div[contains(@class, 'x-grid-view')]") ); The image below shows the div that I have selected highlighted in dark blue and the one I want to find with an arrow pointing at it. UPDATE Tried prestomanifesto's suggestion and got the following error [cucumber] org.openqa.selenium.InvalidSelectorException: The given selector ./ancestor::div[contains(@class, 'x-grid-view']) is either invalid or does not result in a WebElement. The following error occurred: [cucumber] [InvalidSelectorError] Unable to locate an element with the xpath expression ./ancestor::div[contains(@class, 'x-grid-view']) because of the following error: [cucumber] [Exception... • Struts and logging HTTP POST request body

    - by Ivan Vrtaric
I'm trying to log the raw body of HTTP POST requests in our application based on Struts, running on Tomcat 6. I've found one previous post on SO that was somewhat helpful, but the accepted solution doesn't work properly in my case. The problem is, I want to log the POST body only in certain cases, and let Struts parse the parameters from the body after logging. Currently, in the Filter I wrote I can read and log the body from the HttpServletRequestWrapper object, but after that Struts can't find any parameters to parse, so the DispatchAction call (which depends on one of the parameters from the request) fails. I did some digging through Struts and Tomcat source code, and found that it doesn't matter if I store the POST body into a byte array, and expose a Stream and a Reader based on that array; when the parameters need to get parsed, Tomcat's Request object accesses its internal InputStream, which has already been read by that time. Does anyone have an idea how to implement this kind of logging correctly?

  • IText can't keep rows together, second row spans multiple pages but won't stick with first row.

    - by J2SE31
I am having trouble keeping my first and second rows of my main PDFPTable together using IText. My first row consists of a PDFPTable with some basic search criteria. My second row consists of a PdfPTable that contains all of the tabulated results. Everytime the tabulated results becomes too big and spans multiple pages, it is kicked to the second page automatically rather than showing up directly below the search criteria and then paging to the next page. How can I avoid this problem? I have tried using setSplitRows(false), but I simply get a blank document (see commented lines 117 and 170). How can I keep my tabulated data (second row) up on the first page? An example of my code is shown below (you should be able to just copy/paste). public class TestHelper{ private TestEventHelper helper; public TestHelper(){ super(); helper = new TestEventHelper(); } public TestEventHelper getHelper() { return helper; • maven dependencies and jetty - avoiding deploy

    - by James Cooper
Hi, I have a project with 3 artifacts: common - entities, business logic. no UI code webapp-a - a public web app webapp-b - an admin web app webapp-a and webapp-b depend on common. common is configured to deploy to a local maven repo. so far so good. I have IntelliJ configured so that each artifact is a separate module. Module dependencies are configured properly. I can add a new method to a class in common and immediately use that method in a class in a webapp. However, when I run mvn jetty:run it uses the currently deployed common snapshot in my repository. It does not use my local classes. If I add a method to a class in common, it compiles fine, but blows up at runtime. So is it possible to either: a) Convince jetty:run to use my local common build output or b) Deploy my common output to my local ~/.m2/repo while I'm testing locally before I want to commit/deploy or c) some other solution? thank you! -- James

  • Handling hundreds of actions in Struts2

    - by Roberto
Hi all, I've inherited a struts 1 web application where, in order to reduce the number of Action classes (I guess this is the reason), lots of actions are mapped inside a single Action class, like: public XXXAction() throws Exception{ actions = new Hashtable(); actions.put("/XXX/main/load", new Integer(0)); actions.put("/XXX/main/save", new Integer(1)); ...... } public ActionForward executeAction(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form, HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res) throws IOException, ServletException { try { switch (((Integer) actions.get(action)).intValue()) { case 0: loadXXXMain(); break; case 1: ....... and so on (in some Action classes I have almost one hundred of these small actions). Now I'm looking at migrate to struts2 and I would like to have a cleaner and better solution to handle this, maybe without having a single Action class for each of these small classes. What do you suggest? I don't like this solution, but I don't like having hundreds of Action classes.... Thanks! Roberto

  • Advantages of Thread pooling in embedded systems

    - by Microkernel
I am looking at the advantages of threadpooling design pattern in Embedded systems. I have listed few advantages, please go through them, comment and please suggest any other possible advantages that I am missing. Scalability in systems like ucos-2 where there is limit on number of threads. Increasing capability of any task when necessary like Garbage collection (say in normal systems if garbage collection is running under one task, its not possible to speed it up, but in threadpooling we can easily speed it up). Can set limit on the max system load. Please suggest if I am missing anything.

  • EXT-GWT Portal: How to get all Portlets?

    - by Lars
Hi all this is my first Question here! Im just making my first steps with (Ext-) GWT. I´m testing the Ext-GWT libraries and really: These are absolute great! Now my question: Is it possible to make a kind of "clear-Portal" or "hide all portles" for a defined Portal? Or have i always manually clear the portal like in my example code above? My sample code looks like this: //define the Portal, 2 columns, each 50% auf width, with borders and Backgroundcolor portal = new Portal(2); portal.setBorders(true); portal.setStyleAttribute("backgroundColor", "white"); portal.setColumnWidth(0, .50); portal.setColumnWidth(1, .50); //define a Portlet for showing all Users portletUser = new Portlet(); portletUser.setHeading("Benutzer"); configPanel(portletUser); portletUser.setLayout(new FitLayout()); CompUserList compUserList = new CompUserList(); portletUser.add(compUserList); portletUser.setHeight(250); //define a Portlet for showing all Vehicles portletVehicles = new Portlet(); portletVehicles.setHeading("Fahrzeuge"); configPanel(portletVehicles); portletVehicles.setLayout(new FitLayout()); CompVehicleList compVehicleList = new CompVehicleList(); portletVehicles.add(compVehicleList); portletVehicles.setHeight(250); //define a portlet for showing all countries portletCountries = new Portlet(); portletCountries.setHeading("Länder"); configPanel(portletCountries); portletCountries.setLayout(new FitLayout()); CompCountryList compCountryList = new CompCountryList(); portletCountries.add(compCountryList); portletCountries.setHeight(250); //add both Portlets to Portal portal.add(portletUser, 0); portal.add(portletVehicles, 1); So first of all this works fine and looks great :-) Now i have a a button in a accordeon menu. The Listener on this button should hide all portlets in the portal (at this time its the portletUser and portletVehicles) and then add another portlet (for example the portletCountries): portletUser.hide(); portletVehicles.hide(); portal.add(portletCountries, 0) Question from above again ;-) Is it possible to make a kind of "clear-Portal" or "hide all portles" for a defined Portal? Or have i always manually clear the portal like in my example code above? What is the best practice for this functionallity? Thanks all for your tips! Lars.

  • Running your own GAE server

    - by h2g2java
The question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2505265/how-difficult-is-it-to-migrate-away-from-google-app-engine triggered me to think about this issue again. I have read of someone running, production-wise, Google app engine development version on their own server. My questions are: Are there any security issues running GAE development on your own server in production mode and exposing it to the www? If so how to mitigate them? Can GAE dev be run on Amazon? Is it possible to port my GAE apps running on Google servers to a GAE running on Amazon, without code changes, but without changing any reference in using other gdata services such as google docs, youtube, gmail, etc. How to configure GAE dev server to use my own hadoop? Or to use Amazon's hadoop?

  • JTable custom header renderer that looks like other headers with nimbus look and feel?

    - by startoftext
Any time I create a custom header renderer for a JTable it ends up not looking correct with the nimbus look and feel. The default table headers have a silvery gradient, custom renderers do not look that way. In the past I just avoided creating custom header renderers. Is it possible to copy the default look onto my new custom renderer? Basically I want to add a checkbox and have the area around it look like a normal column header, not just gray. I do know how to add the checkbox though and make it click-able. Thanks

  • Lobo Cobra HtmlPanel does not update GUI after JavaScript action

    - by Markus Lausberg
HI, I started implementing a HTML Browser in Swing. I want to use the Lobo Cobra toolkit because this toolkit inclused a renderer and parser for CSS and JavaScript. The pages are looking very nice and it is easy to use (one class implementation to show a html page). I want to show HTML pages in swing which can show javascript generated and modified objects, like a flashing circle. As far as i know, the cobra toolkit can show static javascript commands like 'document.write' or closwWindow() implementations, but not updating the GUI from a JavaScript. Did someone works with Lobo Cobra Toolkit before and give me some sample code or tips for showing HTML pages with animated JavaScript objects inside.

  • Nullable Date column merge problem

    - by Vladimir
I am using JPA with openjpa implementation beneath, on a Geronimo application server. I am also using MySQL database. I have a problem with updating object with nullable Date property. When I'm trying to merge entity with Date property set to null, no sql update script is generated (or when other fields are modified, sql update script is generated, but date field is ommited from it). If date field is set to some other not null value, update script is properly generated. Did anyone have problem like that?
