Hi:
I am using mysettings to save user settings.
This config file is saved in this path:
c:\ Documents and
Settings \ \ [Local
Settings] Application
Data\\\
Is possible to change this path? For example, in my case I save app data in "ProgramData" folder (Vista & W7) and I would like save this config file in the same folder. Is possible?
Thanks in advance
I like to use 'this' statement for all non-local variables: for properties, for class variables, etc. I do this for code easy reading, easy understanding where from this variable has got.
object someVar;
object SomeProperty { get; set }
void SomeMethod(object arg1, object arg2)
{
this.SomeProperty = arg1;
this.someVar = arg2;
}
How do you think, what is proper way to use 'this'?
Are there exists an simple AMPQ server/broker implementation written in Java?
I need it only for local integration tests, starting it from ant/maven, and i don't need any features like a clustering, persistence, performance and so on. Just a fake RabbitMQ-like instance, without installation (just as a dependency at maven pom) and configuration.
On my local machine the script runs fine but in the cloud it 500 all the time. This is a cron task so I don't really mind if it takes 5min...
:
Any idea whether it's possible to increase the timeout?
Thanks,
rui
In C static can mean either a local variable or a global function/variable without external linkage. In C++ it can also mean a per-class member variable or member function.
Is there any reference to how it happened that the static keyword that seems totally irrelevant to lack of external linkage is used to denote lack of external linkage?
Installed Tomcat 6 on WinXP 64. It installed just fine. But when I try to launch it ( from Windows Services) I get the following error :
"Can not start an the Apache Tomcat Service on Local computer."

i have started mysql server but the /tmp/mysql.socket file is missing.
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.socket'

How expensive are local variables (var v), global variables (window.v) and cross-global variables (parent.v) in JavaScript, in the major browsers? Has anyone performed any good tests on this one?
I have one service that will create a text file to local machine and then need to copy the same file to another server .
I am using " File.Copy(SourceFilePath, TargetFilePath, true);"
and getting an exception at the target file path "access denied. I am able to copy the files manually to that location ( TargetFilePath) .
any idea , what is going wrong ??
I don't have any network drive mapping with this target location.
Thanks in Advance
How do I inspect the return value of this GetItems() function using the debugger? Do I have to create a local variable for the results to accomplish this?
foreach (string item in GetItems())
{
// some code
}
private List<string> GetItems()
{
// return some list
}
If I have a method that does multiple, related things, is it good practice to stick each "thing" that the method does into a seperate block?
Ex.
{
int var
//Code
}
{
int var
//More Code
}
It would help reduce the number of local variables, and make the code more readable, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.
I have a sql file generated by "mysqldump --all-databases" . There are many databases in it. What I want to do is to update my local database but only a specific one, not all. I tried to use "mysql -database=db_name < file.sql" but it updated all databases. Is there a way to skip all databases except the one that I want.

I trying to make MySQL available by 2 ports: 3306 and 3339
I added rule to iptables:
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i bond0 -p tcp --dport 3339 -j REDIRECT
--to-port 3306
and everythin is great for remote connections.
But if I'm trying to connect it locally, I'm getting an error:
mysql -u username -ppassword --port=3339 -h Host.Name
ERROR 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'Host.Name' (111)
Any ideas how can I edit iptables to get local access via 3339 port?
I have a dll written in C++ that is legacy code and cannot modify the source code. I want to be able to call some of the functions inside of the dll from lua.
For example, I'd like to do something like this:
-- My Lua File
include(myCppDll.dll)
function callCppFunctionFromDll()
local result = myCppFunctionFromDll(arg1, arg2)
--Do something with result here
end
Is something like this possible?
I have to develop a whiteboard application in which both the local user and the remote user should be able to draw simultaneously, is this possible? If possible then any logic?
I have already developed a code but in which i am not able to do this, when the remote user starts drawing the shape which i am drawing is being replaced by his shape and co-ordinates.
This problem is only when both draw simultaneously.
any idea guys?
Hi,
I am creating an application that is connecting to another computer through an Ethernet cable in XP. I need to execute the network setup wizard to setup a local area connection (with File sharing Turned On) and then set static ips and the default gateway; all this programmatically using C#. How can this be achieved?
I have to install windows service using Visual Studio. Target location for the install is handled by “DefaultLocation” property in Visual Studio setup project. I had used [AppDataFolder] tag to install the application. As the result, it has been installed in “C:\Users[username]\AppData*Roaming*” folder. I can not figure out how to modify “DefaultLocation” property in such a way that application will be installed in C:\Users[username]\AppData*Local* folder. Any idea how to accomplish that?
I want to copy a large a ram-based file (located at /dev/shm direcotry) to local disk, is there some way for an efficient copy instead of read char one by one or create another piece memory? I can use only C language here. Is there anyway that I can put the memory file directly to disk? Thanks!
I have a certificate installed in windows server 2003
The path I can see from MMC is:
Certificates(Local Computer)/Personal/Certificates
I want to configure it in my wcf config. How do I know what the storeName is?
This is what I get so far in my wcf config
<serviceCertificate findValue="certificate.example.com" storeLocation="LocalMachine" storeName="???" x509FindType="FindBySubjectName" />
How are paths determined on a remote machines?
I have been assigned a network loaction. Let's call it \wassup\test1
I assume that wassup is the ame of the computer. The question I have is this. How can I determine what the local path from the point of view of the remote machine would be for "test1". For example, how would I know if it is c:\test1 or d:\test1 ?
For some reason I can't seem to get the MySQL Net Connector to work with C# outside of the IDE. I have a very simple program working just fine in the IDE (connecting to the database and everything) but when I publish the code and run the .application file (on my local computers desktop or off the company server) it says it can't connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :(
Thank you
Accidentally I have created file "-" (just a minus) in a directory and commited it.
I have to delete it because its causing error on other machines:
svn: Can't convert string from 'UTF-8' to native encoding:
svn: ?\226?\128?\147
I can remove it from local directory using "rm -i *" or with python "os.remove('\xe2\x80\x93')" but those methods do not work with "svn rm".
How to delete such file from svn repository?
